CONSTITUTIONAL DRAFT OF THE ROYAL UNION OF EQUESTRIA.
AS ESTABLISHED BY THE ROYAL COMMITTEE OF THE UNIVERSAL COURTSHIP OF SOL AND ANDROMEDA.
MAY THEIR WISDOM GRANT THIS NATION THE BLESSINGS OF HARMONIC ENLIGHTENMENT.
To preserve Harmony, a nation must incorporate Harmony. No greater or lesser power may alleviate that factual law of the universe. To this committee on Monday, tenth day of April, approximately two years after the Discord Containment Event, we scribe this drafted Constitution in the hopes that our descendants will preserve and embrace these philosophies of harmonic convergences.
We in this committee have established ten originating amendments that may not be abolished, tampered with to any degree or at any point in time so long as this nation remains sovereign, must be used as the guide of any judicial arrangement that may take place in an official Royal Court, and must be followed in the most loyal faith by any leader or Equine in power of this nation or risk impeachment.
1. We in this committee establish that all life is born in the most equal sense; that no life is born with any ill-will, that citizens of this nation retain rights of happiness, dignity, liberty, camaraderie, and equality, and that no life is born with machinations that of which promote wrongdoing of the evil degree unless provoked by an inside or outside force that may cloud one's judgement.
2. We in this committee establish the roles of power of this diarchy so being established in this constitution, such that this nation recognizes the leader(s) of this nation as the absolute power(s) and Commander(s) in Chief of its military. We recognize that the elder of the diarchs shall rule the day, while the younger of the diarchs shall rule the night. Yet none of these grants may be used in an antagonizing fashion for whatever purpose so that this nation retains harmony - the sole philosophy driving the motivation to establish this sovereignty - for eternity.
3. We in this committee establish that no discriminatory action may be placed on any race or species of this world. This committee grants all of this nation's citizens the freedoms of religion, speech that does not threaten the lives of the citizens' peers, and assembly that does not conspire harm done to this nation. Thus, a prerequisite to be anointed as a diarch does not include being of the Alicorn race.
4. We in this committee establish a fair and just judicial system via a Royal Court that would so be run by the diarch currently ruling at the time of a case, though the diarch may appoint a trusted judge to dispense justice throughout the nation, no corruption in the Royal Court may be present at any time. Capital punishment shall not be the execution of a subject, instead, a sentencing to Tartarus will be appointed to capital offenders.
5. We in this committee establish that the diarchs of this nation shall receive minimal salary or profitation of taxing the citizens; instead, a savings account in the Royal Bank of Canterlot shall accumulate a sufficient fund for each diarch should they relinquish the throne indefinitely for whatever reason such that they may live a comfortable lifestyle after their royal term, due to the fact that the rulers receive meals and housing with minimal expense.
6. We in this committee establish that any annual profitation of citizen taxing, parole, bonds, donation, fees, or any other form of income from the citizens that may be left over once any expense that requires payment is paid shall be dispersed evenly to the public in the form of foster housing, public education, disaster relief funding, national emergency fund, or any other form of relief that would so serve the best interest of the citizens of this nation.
7. We in this committee establish a progressive tax system of the state that ensures equal taxation of this nation's citizens, where the amount taxed would rely on a household's salary. The tax to remain a citizen of this nation would arrive in the form of an annual salary report, where the tax determined would be ten percent of the household income.
8. We in this committee establish and encourage equal opportunity employment and education for each citizen of this nation, also, a set percentage of the state income would be dispersed to build and maintain many public and private institutions where citizens and offspring have the opportunity to learn skill trades and basic social skills in accordance to their cutie mark and special talent, however, a citizen has the right to stray from their special talent should they wish to pursue a different path in life at one's own risk of failure.
9. We in this committee establish an organization of specialized guard squadrons for each diarch, such that they remain safe while attending to royal duties.
10. We in this committee establish a system of royal bureaucracy where additional amendments may be added to this constitutional draft to compensate for complications that may arise later in time of this nation's development, only so that the proposing diarch receives the approval of both the other diarch and the royal advising council of each diarch that would be so discussed in a publicly broadcasted royal executive conference; the only exception being amendments that are of the corrupting nature or amendments that would alter the originating amendments of this constitutional draft in any form in any point in time after this draft is signed.
It is with the highest magnitude of joy and humility that we usher in this new era of harmonic convergence, peace and prosperity, public satisfaction, liberty and sovereignty, and righteousness to the Universal Courtship; with the Elements of Harmony at our side, this committee swears an oath to defend and serve this royal union with our lives to the sole purpose of retaining harmony and the best interest of the nation's citizens.
Let it be so that on this Monday, tenth day of April, 2 D.C.E., with the intuition of this committee, Starswirl the Bearded, Princess Celestia, Princess Luna, and the blessings of the Universal Courtship of Sol and Andromeda, that we therefore, in the name of Harmony, so declare this Royal Nation of Equestria be erected, with the Royal Capital so named named Canterlot City, that it may house and protect all of Equestria's citizens to the best of its ability.
The signatures scribed on this constitutional draft of the Royal Continental Committee of the Royal Union of Equestria legitimize our faith and divine affinity to the public domain and also verifies that this committee remains true to its cause until the end of eternity.
