Hi there, my name's Joseph, but all my friends call me Kyth (a nickname given for my love of Lovecraftian stuff). A while back I went to a convention with my girlfriend Jenny, and the two of us decided to cosplay even though we were only sixteen. She went dressed as XJ9 from the cartoon 'My Life as a Teenage Robot' and I went as Cthulhu (not as the full god, but as Cthulhu you start out as in 'Cthulhu Saves The World'). Everything was going alright, we got to spend some time together and see some friends, until we saw him. A small stand in the convention hall, just out of the way from the main area. A guy dressed as a character I vaguely remembered was called The Merchant. His shop had all kinds of awesome things in it, and so Jen and I decided to buy some stuff (we both had souvenir money for just such). I grabbed an actual sword to go with my costume (I was excited since I actually had taken some fencing so I could really wield a sword, albeit amateurishly) and Jen bought a pair of gloves that would make it look like she actually had XJ9's hands. We grabbed both of them and left, and as we did a wave light washed over us. At the last second we locked hands. When we woke up, we were in… The Crystal Empire? Oh crap.
