My Little Pony Champions of Justice

After serving their punishment Button, Rumble and Pipsqueak were now under the instruction of Valiant and his new partner, Flash Sentry. Who had taken residence in Twilights castle. Each day after school, the three foals would head towards the foothills where Valiant would provide their daily exercises.

"PULL!"

"HURR!!"

Like any other day, the three colts would start with dragging two sacks of flour, each weighing fifty pounds, over to Sugarcube Corner.

"I'M DYING!!" Button exclaimed as he raised his hoof, gasping for air while Pipsqueak struggled to get just one of the sacks to budge. Rumble however made it look easy thanks to using both his legs and wings to drag his flour sacks ahead of his friends. His instructor however was anything but pleased.

"Come on rookie! Flap those wings!" Flash ordered to the young pegasus, his wing speed increasing. By the time they had reached the bakery, all three friends were exhausted beyond all belief, dragging themselves through the front door panting like dogs.

"Good gracious! Are you boys alright?"

"They're fine miss’s cake. Just the usual exercise."

Valiant said plainly as he trotted through the front entrance. Rumble was second to enter the bakery followed by Pipsqueak who was drenched in sweat. Once rested, Valiant ordered an apple pie to split with his three students and Flash. Like any recruit coming out of training, Button and his friends began stuffing their faces in no time. But as the hour grew late, a look of shock came onto button’s face as he gulped down his food.

"Uh… what time is it?"

"It's uh...4:30 p.m. Why?"

"OH MY GOSH! I'M SUPPOSED TO BE AT SWEETIE BELLES!!"

Button quickly darted for the door, leaving a smoke trail as he raced off towards carousel boutique. Chuckling and shaking their heads, the others continued their meal.

"Man he really has a thing for her." Valiant stated as he sipped down some tea to wash down a slice of pie.

"Sweetie Belle was Buttons first friend when he came to Ponyville." Rumble said surprising him as he looked at the young pegasus.

"You mean he's not from here?"

"Nope. Button used to live in Manehattan; but he was bullied so often that his mom decided to move here."

"I see. So, any fillies catch your eyes recently?”

The question caught Rumble and Pipsqueak off guard, due to it being a touchy subject and all. Rumble, however, managed to summon up enough courage to speak as he twiddled his hooves. His cheeks giving off a small pink blush.

"Well uh thing is...I kinda started going out with um..." He became hesitant as his face simply glowed pink.

"Well?"

"Scootaloo."

"Well congrats on finding a marefriend! How about you Pip?"

Pipsqueak said nothing, his head began to sulk, making Flash and Valiant curious. But they decided not to pry any further. That afternoon, the two proceeded to Twilight’s castle after dismissing the three squires. There they could deliver the daily reports on their progress to Canterlot. As they neared the entrance Flash spotted the princess making her way towards town with her friends behind her.

"Good afternoon your highness."

"Oh! Uh G-Good afternoon Sir Flash." Twilight responded, trying not to sound nervous as her friends gave smug looks at each other.

"Please just call me Flash." He said in a friendly manner as Twilight became completely flushed.

"F-Flash! Right. Flash. Well I need to head over to town hall. Meeting with the Mayor."

"And I'm going with Rainbow Dash to Griffonstone!" Pinkie said excitedly.

"You guys have Gryphons?" Valiant asked in surprise.

"Well yeah, don't you?"

"Well yeah. They were our best fighters during the wars. Some even became great heroes. Like Sky'Ree!"

The name of this gryphon seemed odd as the ponies. They gave Valiant a curious look as Rainbow and Pinkie headed for the train station.

"What an odd name. Sky'Ree." Rarity said tapping a hoof to her chin.

"She was one of the greatest heroes of Azeroth! They said that when she flew into battle with her master, the very skies would thunder with their rage!"

Valiant said with enthusiasm as he curled a hoof, trying to look triumphant as the mares giggled. Giving a sheepish grin, the unicorn cleared his throat giving a quick salute. Trying to make himself look serious once more.

"Princess. I am happy to report that Button Mash and the other squires are performing admirably."

"Very good Sir Valiant. Oh! That reminds me, the Princess is sending you a new student."

"Really? Who?"

Twilight gave a sigh as she uttered the name of the pony.

"Prince Blueblood..."

None were more disgusted than Rarity, who seemed to shudder at the mere mention of his name. It was later explained that Blueblood had treated the mare poorly at her first Gala. Though it was amusing to hear about Rarity being used as a shield against a flying cake, Valiant was surprised that a prince would behave in such a manor. And now he was going to be under his tutage?

The next day, a royal carriage had arrived. The prince in it enjoying the breeze blow through his hair as he neared town square.

"Stop here!" The prince barked as the pegasai grinded to a halt. With a clap of his hooves, a servant disembarked from the carriage, holding a great many bags on his back. Blueblood looked around the town in disgust.

"THIS is Ponyville? How droll." He said in disgust before catching a glimpse of Twilight’s castle.

"Well at least there's SOME culture in this town."

The prince ordered his servant to follow him towards the castle where he began to hear the sound of weapons clashing. Valiant and Flash were giving a demonstration to their three students. This time,however, with real weapons.

"AAHHH!!"

"HYAAH!!"

Neither combatant held back as Flash used his wing power to outmaneuver Valiant while the unicorn used his magic to defend himself, switching things up here and there with a magic blast to knock the pegasus out of the sky. Seeing an opening Valiant gave one downward swing, splintering Flashes spear in two as the three foals cheered.

"Alright he got him!" Button yelled before noticing Valiant still held his gaze on Flash.

"You think so Button? A broken weapon is still a dangerous one!" Valiant stated as Flash went on the assault using his now shortened spear. Forcing Valiant back inch by inch, disarming of one of his swords.

"My word!" Blueblood said, astounded as he watched the two knights fight it out. Flash was finally able to completely disarm Valiant. Allowing his spear to rest at the base of his neck.

"And that, my students, is how we all should fight."

"BRAVO! BRAVO! An excellent display!" Blueblood applauded while his servant carried his luggage inside.

"Let me guess. You must be...Blueblood."

"PRINCE! Blueblood if you please?" He emphasized, sounding offended before turning his attention to the three foals. Now wearing tabards bearing Valiant’s new wolf symbol in honor of his title.

"So these are your three pupils? I must say they don't look like much." The attitude of the prince was just as his friends described; unbearable, pig headed, rude and snobby.

Flash escorted Button and his friends to the new training grounds (Located around the back of the castle), while Valiant showed the prince to the guest room.

"I understand my aunt has sent me here for some training. Though, I don't understand why. I mean isn’t that what YOU ahem "Heroes" are for."

"What's wrong Prince? Afraid to get your hooves dirty when things get grim?" Valiant asked before the prince broke into a haughty laugh.

"Please! Since when did ROYALTY ever have to go into battle?" Blueblood asked, continuing his laughter, noticing that Valiant was not amused in the slightest.

"You're kidding me right? I read about the events in The Crystal Empire."

"Oh yes that. But that's in the past I mean surely YOUR rulers never had to get their hooves dirty."

"Clearly you've never met King Varian."

"Did you say "King"?" The last statement caught Blueblood by surprise as he zipped over to the unicorn. Staring him in the face.

"You have a KING back home!?"

"Yes. And I've actually fought side by side with him. I've even seen his skill in battle BUT that'll have to wait. Your training starts first thing tomorrow."
