My Little Pony Champions of Justice

Morning rose once more in Sweet Apple Acres but it was anything but peaceful. Valiant sat at the table with the apple family but stayed quiet, it had already been three days since he learned of his masters fate yet his mood hadn't changed in the slightest. Even when working the land he stayed quiet and continued his work and there were times when he would just sit alone on the tallest hill near the orchards, just staring at the horizon before heading back to the house, his brooding was more than Applejack could take and so she decided that enough was enough.

The next day Valiant stood on the hill like he always did after working the fields with Big Mac. A short sigh was all he gave before noticing Applejack trot up next to him.

"It's a pretty amazing view isn't it?" Applejack asked, hoping to break the silence.

"Sure." Valiant answered in a seemingly uncaring tone which seemed to annoy the farm mare slightly as she stood right in front of Valiant with a stern look on her face.

"Alright what is it?"

"What is what?"

"What's buggin ya?"

"I have no idea what you're talking about."

"Do I have to jab you on your wound again?" Applejack asked as the unicorn backed up covering his chest, remembering the last time she did that but he still maintained his silence.

"Come on now sugarcube. If you're hurting let me help."

"I'm not sure you can help Applejack."

"Try me." The farm mare said with confidence, tipping her hat a slight ways with a smirk.

Valiant sat down telling her what he had gone through at Twilights castle, the story seemed to surprise even her but she could see there was no lie in his eyes.

"So there you have it. My master gave his life to protect me and now....now I'm all alone." He sulked his head preparing to leave when Applejack ran in front of him.

"Now hold up there sugarcube! That is NOT true!" Applejack replied, laying a hoof on Valiants shoulder.

"You are anything BUT alone. I mean take me and my friends for example. When you came to this world we didn't treat you like some stranger from another world, we welcomed you to this place like we would any other friend." Applejack could see Valiant breaking into a small smirk once he knew she was right. Though he had lost his former friend and master and was cut off from the world he knew he was still able to find others who cared about him.

"Well I better get goin. Twilight wants to meet up with us at the castle. You gonna be alright?"

"I'll be fine AJ and thanks."

While Applejack was off to the castle, Valiant laid on the hillside as a fresh breeze blew in from the east. The sound and feel of the wind reminded him of the farm he lived on back in Azeroth, before it was stricken by the undead plague. Once the days chores were finished Valiant had decided to head into town for some lunch and had heard about a popular restaurant called "The Hayburger" from Applebloom. Curious about the food, he decided to visit however it was during the lunch rush.

"Oh wow..." He said in shock as he saw a huge line in front of him and so he waited for what felt like forever until finally he got himself a simple burger with fries. At first the dish seemed strange but after taking that first bite he was instantly hooked! For a while Valiant sat at his table, enjoying his meal when a gray pegasus crashed into the window. The impact startled everypony at first but instead of rushing out they all returned to their meals, Valiant was the only one ran outside to help.

"Are you alright?!" He asked helping the pony up. She was a grey mare with a blonde mane and tail, she seemed normal enough save for the derpy eyes.

"I'm fine! just distracted from reading the addresses on the letters." The mare replied with a smile as he helped her pick up the scattered envelopes. She introduced herself as "Ditzy Doo" but for obvious reasons everypony else called her "Derpy", she was the top mail mare in all of ponyville despite her eye problems and was often called on by the mayor to deliver important documents to Twilight and the other important ponies of the town.

Once Valiant introduced himself he decided to help Derpy with the rest of her deliveries and was soon introduced to the whole town, even the mayor herself along with Derpy's daughter; Dinky and her husband Time Turner, as the sun began to set Derpy rummaged through her mail bag to ensure she didn't miss any deliveries and found one scroll bearing the royal seal.

"Oh! this one's for you Valiant!" She said with joy, handing him the scroll.

"Thanks Derpy. I'll see ya around and tell Carrot Top the Apple Family will be sending her new garden tools this week."

"I will. Bye!"

The grey Pegasus took off as Valiant headed back for the farm Curious as to why the princess would send him a message. Once settled in the living room the unicorn unrolled the scroll to reveal some disturbing news that seemed to make him stand from the couch.

Dear Valiant

My sister Luna and I have discovered something disturbing the Everfree Forest

Twilight and her friends will not be able to resolve this matter since they will be out of town.

Come to Canterlot at once for a debriefing and any supplies you may require.
