Chapters Chapter 1: Markiplier Appears
"EVEN LESS MONEY!?"
This is the story of a man named Mark Fischbach.
"I thought it was weird that I couldn't move, but this is totally different!"
He is popularly known as the famous youtuber Markiplier.
"AAAAHAHA WHAT THE FU-"
And right about now he is going to disappear off the face of the Earth.
Rainbow Dash was having a boring day. "Training for the Wonderbolts, check. Read Daring Do series again, check. Took care of Tank, check. There is nothing to do!" She flopped on a passing cloud in frustration. "With all the crazy things that happen in Ponyville everyday, you would think something would happen right about..." Her ears pricked up in expectation. When nothing happened, Rainbow groaned. "Oh come on, that always works!" Taking a nap seemed to be the best idea. She tried to focus on the warmth of the sun, on the tweeting of the birds, on the usual things that help her to fall asleep. The piercing whistle of something falling wasn't helping. Neither was the earth shattering explosion that followed.
Rainbow launched herself into the air in fright, rightfully so. The green area where she had been sleeping above had been turned into a gigantic crater with one lone black figure in the middle. She yelped and flew down to help him. The stallion seemed to be out cold, his bright pink hair covering most of his face.
"Oh sweet Celestia, are you alright? What am I gonna do, what am I gonna do?" Rainbow paced in in front of him. Should she take him to Twilight's? After all, he did just fall from the sky, not to mention this is an earth pony. Then again, he might be seriously hurt. The hospital or Twilight's? The hospital or Twilight's? A large crowd had begun to form around the crater, their inquisitive eyes rushing Rainbow's thought process. Hospital or Twilight's, hospital or Twilight's, hospital or Twilight's?
A second later and she was flying as fast as her wings would take her with the strange stallion cradled between her hooves. Her destination: The Golden Oaks Library.
Twilight's day was important. It was very important. Today was her scheduling day for the rest of the month. What she decided today would affect her for the next 30 days. "Let's see, lunch at AJ's, Pet Playdate, ooh, can't forget re-shelving day..."
Rainbow burst in on her and knocked everything off the table, including Twilight's planner. "Rainbow Dash!" Twilight yelled. "What are yo-" The words caught in her throat as the sight of a knocked out black stallion laying on the table finally sunk in her head. "R-rainbow, who's this? Why is he hurt?" A suspicious gleam entered Twilight's eyes. "Were you drinking old Apple Cider again?"
Rainbow Dash gasped for breath while she attempted to protest. "N-no.... I just... Crater... And the stallion... But I... Just... Is he going... to be... okay?"
Twilight did a quick check over him, confirming her suspicions. "He has three broken ribs, a concussion, and two broken legs. All in all, he should be fine in the next two to three weeks."
Rainbow breathed a sigh of relief.
"But that's not all."
Her breath caught up again. "I thought you said he was going to be fine!"
Twilight nodded. "He is, but did you notice something... strange about him?"
"Other than him falling from the sky, causing a crater, and destroying half the park, no." Rainbow deadpanned.
Twilight's eyes rolled. "Look at his cutie mark."
Rainbow looked and was extremely surprised to find that there was no cutie mark, just a blank flank. "B-but, he's full grown! He should have one! Any ordinary pony would have one by now!" she spluttered.
Twilight stared at Rainbow. "He's not an ordinary pony. Now let's get him to a hospital."
Mark woke to the smell of cleaning alcohol. His head was a fuzzy mess of different thoughts, mainly those questioning where he was. Who was he? Oh yeah, Mark Fischbach. The thoughts then turned to how he was going to post another video if he was in the hospital. Maybe what he did last time he was in the hospital? That would work. He attempted to rub his head, which resulted in him getting a nasty wake up call and practically bludgeoning his head in with his hoof. Mark looked at his hoof in confusion. Where was his hand? At that moment, two... brightly colored ponies with wings and a horn came into his room. Mark's brain stopped and he could only say one thing. "What the buck is this?"
The one with a horn threw a look at the one with wings. "I told you he would be confused!" it hissed. They squabbled for a few seconds, then the one with wings walked up to the bed Mark was in and spoke to him in a voice that was eerily familiar. "Uh, what's your name?"
The one with a horn- no, wait, those are called unicorns- smacked it's own face. "Real smooth Rainbow Dash."
"Hey, what else am I supposed to ask him?" The pega- Rainbow Dash said.
Mark piped up. "Mark Fischbach."
Both of them looked startled. "What?"
"My name is Mark Fischbach. Also why are you ponies? Why am I a pony? Whe-" He stopped suddenly as he realized exactly why Rainbow Dash sounded so similar.
Rainbow Dash.
My Little Pony.
Mark was in a children's cartoon. He fainted.
"One down, nine to go..."
"Are you sure this is such a good idea?"
"And it wouldn't be because?"
"Because what if the wrong person-"
"They won't."
"But they might."
"But they won't."
"This is a bad plan. We should-"
"Should what!? We can't afford to lose another one!"
"But-"
"But nothing! This conversation is over!"
Chapter 2: Jacksepticeye Enters the Scene
"TOP O' THE MORNIN' TO YE LADDIES, MY NAME IS JACKSEPTICEYE AND WELCOME BACK TO KERBAL SPACE PROGRAM! Have you ever been in the mood, where you just wanna see shit explode? That's me, all the time! If you ever feel like that, call that the Jacksepticeye mood. Like you're gettin' ready to blow shit up and you just go,'Hmm, I'm feeling a little Jacksepticeye today.' Okay, so last time I was - HOLY FOCK! DID YOU GUYS SEE THAT!? WHAT IN THE FOCKIN' HELL!? YE CAN'T JUST-"
Jack was falling. He was falling VERY fast. He screamed, but the wind ripped away his words as he fell to his doom. He gasped, tears streaming from his eyes from the sheer force of the wind. In his blind panic he didn't notice a cloud underneath him.
POMF
His heart felt like it was going to explode with the force it was pounding. "Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god, oh my god-" Jack spent the next thirty minutes lying prone on a cloud, trying not to cry from happiness and fear at the same time.
In that thirty minute time-span, a yellow pegasus had landed next to him on the cloud, seemingly reluctant to bother him. "Ahem..." When Jack didn't notice it's tiny cough, it tried again, this time a little louder. "Ahem..." No response. "O-oh, if you don't want to be bothered, t-then- If I made you upset I'm sorry, I-I..." It's voice petered off into nothingness. It sat there, waiting for Jack to notice it.
Finally, after a few more minutes of lying still like a dead man, Jack raised his eyes to meet the teal ones that had been staring at him for a while now. He screamed in a girly manner while vaulting himself away from... whatever it was. It had two wings that adorned it's body and a long pink mane that it was attempting to hide behind. And it was yellow. Why the motherbucking tartarus was it yellow? And what happened to his words? Buck buck buck buck buck. With such thoughts going through his mind, the first thing that he said was, "Why the bock can't I say anything correctly!?"
"O-oh!" The yellow pegasus blushed. By it's voice Jack affirmed that it was a female. She looked even more nervous then when he had finally stopped freaking out. "P-please don't curse." She requested, shying away from Jack's intense stare.
"But bock's not cursing. At most it's a replacement word for ffffffff-bock MOTHERBOCKING GOD WHY CAN'T I SAY IT!?"
"P-please stop." She moved away, hiding some more behind her pink mane. For some reason Jack felt... guilty for cursing in front of her. She reminded him of a fragile flower, liable to break at anything too strong.
Jack was a terrible judge of character.
He noticed her shaking form and attempted to walk over, only to trip when he tried to consciously move his legs. "What in tartarus?" He muttered softly, then reflected on his words. "What the hhhhhhe-heeeeee-he-tartarus COME ON!" Huffing, Jack finally realized what seemed off about this situation. "Why the heeee-tartarus are ye a pony?" He mentioned offhandedly, busy trying to stand.
The pony like creature with wings- Jack's mind idly told him it was called a Pegasus- shrugged. "Is there a reason I shouldn't be a pony?"
"Well since I'm a human...." He trailed off as the Pegasus raised an eyebrow. "Ya know, the dominatin' race? Walks on two legs? Ape-like?"
"The closest I can think of is a chimpanzee, but those only sometimes walk on two legs. Um.... I think I heard my friend Twilight mention a human once. I could ask her." She offered, slightly coming out of her shell.
"Twilight? What kind of a name is that?" Jack asked, feeling a little light-headed. Everything was happening rather fast.
The Pegasus shrugged again. "A normal name?" She then giggled slightly. "I completely forgot to introduce myself. My name is Fluttershy. What's yours?"
"My name's Jack." The logic part of his brain had packed it's bags and left, only to return when life made sense again. It was no big surprise, therefore, when he had no objections to talking to a yellow Pegasus. "By the way, are we standing on a cloud?" He poked the plush whiteness that was separating him from the ground. "I didn't think it was possible to stand on a cloud." He commented, feeling so overwhelmed that he wasn't surprised anymore.
"W-well for normal ponies it's not, but pegasi can." Fluttershy said, stretching her yellow wings to demonstrate.
"Then why haven't I fallen through?"
"Be-because you're a Pegasus!"
"No, that's silly. I'm a human!" Jack was in some serious denial, completely ignoring his light brown colored coat and his green mane. He attempted to stand again, only to fall into the plushy cloud.
"I'm pretty sure you're a Pegasus." Fluttershy pointed out his wings by lightly poking them, then drew back as if stung. "O-oh, I'm sorry! I didn't mean to offend you o-or anything." She retreated into her mane.
Jack didn't notice. He sat in a very uncomfortable position, trying to glance at his wings. Logic had re-entered because it forgot something and had began pitching a fit inside his head.
"A-are you alright?" Fluttershy noticed that Jack seemed to be blanking out. "Di-did the fall hurt you? I know that clouds are really soft, b-but you were falling from really high, an-and I heard you screaming, and you might be hurt-"
"I'm not hurt, but I guess now I'm a Pegasus. I'm not quite sure how to react." So he didn't. He sat with his face pressed firmly against the cloud and his rump in the air, and said nothing.
"W-we could go get some tea, if-if you want some." Fluttershy offered, eager to get to know the colt who fell from the sky.
"Ye know, I might like that. It beats sitting in a cloud all day, thinking of how messed up yer life is."
"O-okay." She glided to the ground, and went inside her house. After a few minutes of waiting, she popped her head outside again. Jack was still sitting in the cloud. "A-are you going to come join me?" She asked tentatively.
"How do I walk?" Was the reply.
"Sir, another successful processing."
"It wasn't completely successful."
"What do you mean, Sir?"
"He can almost say words unique to his realm. I bet you the next batch will be able to."
"I-I'm sorry, Sir, but I-"
"Sir! Urgent news from Sector 12!"
"That's the sector with the core.... Well what is it?"
"It's failing. We only have juice for one more jump."
"Ugh, why now! Listen, just.... Go do something. I'll figure this mess out."
"Yes, Sir!"
"Yes, Sir!"
Chapter 3: Daw, Flutters is so Nice!
"So let me get this straight." Mark said shakily as he sat in the hospital bed, a plate of unetible mush on his lap. "I'm a pony in a cartoon?"
Twilight Sparkle put a hoof to her face. "For the last time, it's not a car-"
"-toon, I know what you're going to say, but..." He gulped. "It is a cartoon, Twilight. It really is. Either that or I'm going crazy, one of the two."
Rainbow Dash sighed and picked up a book titled Daring Do and the Rings of Golah . She plopped it down on next to Mark, as he looked up towards her face with eyes betraying his fear. "Just read this, okay. We'll be back with the gang tomorrow." Rainbow pulled Twilight out of the room, and closed the door on Mark. "This guy's a real nutcase!" Rainbow hissed, glad she wasn't in hearing range of Mark.
"I hate to judge him already, but-"
"Come on, Twilight! Look at him! He's scared of everything!" Rainbow mentioned how he tried to hide from his own hoof when he woke up again.
"That's true...." Twilight bit her lip. "Maybe a visit with the psychiatrist would do him good."
"That's the spirit! Send him to the crazy doctor!" Rainbow cheered much too loudly. A doctor helping Screwball looked disapprovingly towards her. A sheepish grin was his response.
Mark breathed deeply as he picked up the book, once again staring at the dreaded hoof. No fingers. No remnants of him being human other than his memories. Maybe he was a pony all along and he was just deep in a coma. If that's so, then how did he get so beat up? He had no idea. Nothing made any sense anymore.
A thought occurred to him. The gang. Who were all the members of My Little Pony again? There was Rainbow Dash and Twilight Sparkle, but there was only one main cast member he knew really well, and that was because he got chased by her in this SCP Containment Breach mod. It was terrifying. Her name was-
"Pinkie Pie." He breathed.
Jack sat in Fluttershy's house, slowly sipping a cup of tea. It had taken Fluttershy a long time to figure out how to teach a fully-grown pony how to fly and now that she had taught him, he refused to walk. When Fluttershy really got to know him, she realized he was incredibly exuberant, always talking loudly and happily. While being like that is fine - you can't be friends with Pinkie Pie or Rainbow Dash and not be fine with it - it was disturbing her young animals. Angel Bunny was especially annoyed at the newcomer, constantly patting his leg against Fluttershy's in an attempt to make him leave. Finally Jack noticed.
"Oh! Oh, look at ye! Ye're so cute! Ye're so fuzzy, ye're giving me the fuzzies inside!" He said.
Angel's response was to mutter a few choice words in Rabbit. Fluttershy gasped. "Angel! That's not nice! Apologize!" She demanded. Angel shook his head and ran off to pout, throwing a dirty look towards Jack.
He placed his cup down and flew out of the chair. "Thanks for the drink, Flutters. Do ye mind if I call ye Flutters? I'm gonna call ye Flutters 'cause ye're cute!" He looked around. "Tartarus, everythin's cute in this world."
Fluttershy blushed deeply. "N-no, I mean yes- well maybe not- I don't care really!" She finally squeaked out.
"Great, Flutters!" Flying clumsily over to her position, Jack began to talk. "Do ye know where a hotel is?"
"You don't have a home?" Fluttershy asked, cocking her head.
Jack pushed a hoof to his chin, thought about it, then shook his head.
"D-do you have any bits to pay for it?"
"What're bits?"
Fluttershy was faced against something that went against the grain of her personality. It could be dangerous to sleep in the same house with a Pegasus she hardly knew, but if she threw him out, he wouldn't have anywhere to go. A decision was made. "You can stay with me for the night." She offered quietly.
"Really?" Jack grinned.
"Y-yes."
"Yay!" He shouted, scaring Angel Bunny from his skulking.
Muttered curses and frantic hopping woke Fluttershy up the next morning. She sat up, blinked, then got out of bed and walked to the guest room where Jack was sleeping. A chaotic scene met her eyes. Angel was jumping all over Jack's room, sometimes on top of his head to thump his back paw on him, but mostly all over the place, indicating a torn up mouse toy and lots of ketchup decorating the floor. Jack himself was swatting at Angel whenever he jumped on Jack's head. Both paused when Fluttershy came into the room.
"I-I swear Flutters, it's not what it looks like." Jack quickly said, disregarding Angel, who was pointing towards the beat up mouse toy then pointing back towards Jack.
Fluttershy looked down at Angel unimpressed.
Angel knew the gig was up and fled between her two legs.
Fluttershy sighed a sigh of frustration. "I'm sorry about that, Jack." She then put on a smile. "Would you like some breakfast?"
"Of course I would!" Jack responded happily.
After a quick dispute about breakfast, the two ponies were sitting comfortably in the living room when a knock came to the front door. Fluttershy poked her head out, nose scrunching slightly from the chill of early spring. Five grinning familiar faces looked back.
"Hiya, Fluttershy!" Pinkie Pie said, bounding up and giving her friend a hug.
"Hi, Pinkie." Fluttershy tried her best to raise her voice for her friends. "Um, not to be rude, but, um, what are you all doing here?"
Applejack spat in the grass. "It's about some new pony RD and Twi met yesterday."
Rarity backed up the comment with her own. "I heard he's quite handsome. Maybe he'll be my knight in shining armor!"
"Shining Armor is already taken, silly!" Pinkie laughed, suddenly on Rarity's back.
"You know what I mean."
Rainbow Dash snorted. "Are you ready to meet Mark, Flutters?"
Jack's ears pricked up. He flew to the open door. "Did ye say... Merk?"
"No I said Mark." Rainbow clarified.
"I know. Ye said Merk!"
"No, it's M- Ugh, you know what, we need to get going." Rainbow looked impatiently at Jack.
"Fine, be that way." Jack turned around, only to hear hushed whispers. "Ye guys are some dirty minded little...." He trailed off, seeing both Rainbow's and Twilight's expression. "What is it? Do I have some hay on my bum, what is it?"
Twilight shakily began. "You have no...."
Rainbow Dash finished. "...cutie-mark..."
Jack's eyebrow's went up. "Ye mean yer weird-plot butt tattoos?"
Two nods and disapproving glances from the rest. "You better join us." Twilight said.
Mark was instantly nervous when the door cracked to his room, letting in some cool air and also letting in some cartoon horses. Their chattering continued, even as they filed in. However a new one came in, one that he hadn't seen before.
It looked at him, surprise on it's face. "Woah...." It's voice was unmistakably masculine and familiar. "Ye look a lot like my friend, Merk-"
The weird way he said Mark was confirmation. "Jack?!" Mark said, disbelief in his voice.
Jack's face was priceless. "Merk?!"
