Dark Colt
Chapter 1 - The New Student
Previous ChapterNext ChapterAs I walk up to the school yard, I can't help but feel that this year is going to be a great year; no, an excellent year. New school, new magic, new friends, new everything! Everything and everybody here is going to be the bomb! They'll all help me out when I need help and stuff, and they'll all be friendly! And they won't even mind me! Because in this town, everyone is nice to each other! I'm pretty sure that's the principal they found this town on. Earth ponies are the most caring type of ponies out there. They will always make you feel like you're at home, like you really belong. A Pegasus (or more than one) act like an awesome older brother/sister. They're really... awesome, while a Unicorn... is usually stuck-up and so chic. I stop in my thoughts, and open the door. I walk in the door, and the red-magenta-purple Earth Pony introduces me to the younger ponies. If I wasn't mistaken, I'd say... she's the teacher. 'What a surprising twist' I think to myself sarcastically.
"Well, class, we have a new student! Say hello to..." the Teacher said, realizing she never caught my name. My name kind of fit my coat color. I had a dark purple coat, and my mane was black. Straight up black.
"Dark Vortex. My name is Dark Vortex. I'm the Unicorn who'll be sitting over there." I say, pointing to a seat in between a pink earth pony wearing a tiara, and a gray earth pony wearing glasses, and her hair in a braid. Is that a braid? I think so. It might be, it might not. I was never good with Mane Styles.
"Ms. Cheerilee?" a yellow earth pony asked the teacher with an accent. It would seem that the teacher's name is Cheerilee. What's interesting is that her cutie mark is flowers, and the yellow pony doesn't have one. Even more so interesting, the pink pony I mentioned before... her cutie mark was a... tiara?! What the hell does that mean? What the hell is her special talent? I know I have yet to get mine, but... still!
"Yes?" The teacher responded.
"Will he really be sitting between Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon?" She asked, with Cheerilee nodding her head. I looked over to the seat, and back at the yellow filly, who mouthed me good luck. I noticed two more mouthing me good luck. An orange pony with purple hair, and a white pony with light purple hair. Much lighter than my coat color. I went over to my seat. And as Cheerilee turned around, Silver Spoon and Diamond Tiara instantly started to work on their next victim.
"Blank Flank~" She and Diamond Tiara says. I had the perfect thing to say to her. Little did I know this would leave her stunned and speechless for the rest of the day.
"So, Diamond Tiara. Would you care to tell me what your cutie mark even is?" I say, with the rest of the room pulling a 'BURN' look on their face. The three girls who were mouthing me good luck smiled. They had someone new to add the to crew. Diamond Tiara, however, was still trying to think.
"W-W-Wha? W-Wait? B-B-" She says, still trying to comprehend what I said. I turned around to see Silver Spoon laughing as well. I wonder why she was laughing if the three girls told me to have good luck? Maybe she was different than they thought. Or rather, different from Diamond Tiara. I'd have to learn her relation with Diamond Tiara before I can really say anything else. I guess this is my new mission.
"Now, class, we must get back to work." Cheerilee says, and the laughter dies down. The rest of the day went really quickly. We had mathematics, which I'm okay in, then we did a bit of science class, which I excel in, and we had some recess time. Then we had lunch. After that, we finished with two more classes. The first was a P.E. kind-of thing, which we ran around Ponyville a bit. The second one was History. We started very long ago, with the Spirit named Discord. Didn't realize that there was so much... 'violence?' in Equestrian past. Today, however, I met three new girls. Applebloom, Sweetie Belle, and Scootaloo. They allowed me to go over to their clubhouse. I spent some time there, but eventually, went to the Golden Oak Library to read some books.
"What." Is all I could say when I realized that the Golden Oak Library was no more. Clover and I (he was a Unicorn, I was a Unicorn. We were both trying to learn magic).
"It's... gone." This made me realize that even the good things could be destroyed. This made me reflect on the past 9 years of my life (I'm 13, and have unique views. Nice to meet you). From just behind us, we heard 24 footsteps. Divide by 4 because Ponies have 4 hooves... 6 ponies. We turned around to see a princess and 5 other ponies. Clover bowed down, and I remained where I was. If there was one thing I stood for, it was equality. And no, not like that Starlight Shimmer accident or whatever (I heard about it). I mean that people should have special talents, but I don't believe that anyone is of higher position than me. That royalty shouldn't even exist.
"Bow down for the princess, dude" The blue one with Rainbow hair says. She sounded exactly like the description I had for Pegasi.
"NO." I say. I would not be bowing down for some Princess. I explained to them my beliefs, and the princess sort of understood it. After everything was cleared up, she allowed me to go to her library. And let me just say, it is huge. So is her castle, however. But I guess that's for next chapter.
