The young white Pegasus looked at his slip of paper again and shook out his blue mane. 12139 N. Saddle Street. Yep, this was the place. A medium sized house with two stories stood before him. Skye sighed; he didn’t want him and his friend to move away, but the towns around them had become, unsafe. He checked the mailbox to make absolutely sure that he had the right address. The mailbox had the name of his friend and his address. “Rush”, yep that’s him. He walked up to the door and, as he was about to knock he heard his friends voice from one of the second story windows.
“Hey bro, you finally moved! The door is unlocked, come on in and I’ll be down in a second.” Rush shouted from upstairs. Skye tried the door and found that it was unlocked. He walked in and, as promised, he heard his friend walking down the stairs. Skye kicked the door closed with his left back hoof and greeted his friend. The gritty gold colored unicorn trotted over to him, his red mane flowing. The strange thing is that nopony knew why, but Rush’s mane was different. For some reason it always changed color with his mood. He also had mental breakdowns if he was stressed, but growing up together, Skye always knew how to handle it.
“Skye, glad you moved up here to Ponyville with me!” he said.
“Yeah, this is a nice town. You meet anypony yet?” Skye replied.
“I’ve only met a few, but only because I’ve been so busy moving and all.” Rush said with a sadder tone. And along with the sad tone his mane slowly faded to blue. “Oh well though, I can introduce you to somepony, and you can meet my sister.” Rush said, perking up at his idea.
They started leaving the house for the market when they were stopped at their gate by two mares. One had a cream colored coat with a pink and blue mane and held a basket, while the other had a mint green coat with a lighter green and white mane. The cream colored mare had a cutie mark that looked like a few pieces of candy and the mint green unicorn had a golden lyre for hers. The mint green mare spoke first.
“Hi I’m Lyra and this is my friend Bon Bon. We noticed you both moved in and we wanted to bring you a welcome basket!” Bon Bon lowered the basket gently down in front of Skye who blushed slightly. These mares are kinda cute, he thought to himself.
“By the way” Bon Bon continued. “You haven’t seen a pink earth pony with a fuzzy sort of mane around yet, have you?” she asked.
“Do you mean my sister, Pinkie Pie?”Answered Rush from my side.
“So you two have met her,” Lyra concluded with a hint of disappointment.
“No no, I know Pinkie Pie, but my friend Skye hasn’t met her yet,” Rush said.
“Well Lyra, we beat Pinkie Pie to one of the new ponies!” Bon Bon told her friend. As if on cue, a pink pony matching their exact description bounced up to their house and stood next to Lyra and Bon Bon.
“Aww man, you guys beat me here. Usually, I’m first on the scene to meet the new pony in Ponyville. Anyways, Hi, I’m Pinkie Pie and if you haven’t made any friends yet, I know everypony in town! Oh, hi big brother! How’s it going? Is this your friend you told me about?” Pinkie Pie spoke so fast and long it’s as if she wasn’t restricted by the burden of lungs.
“Hi Pinkie Pie, it’s great to meet you,” said Skye.
“Pinkie! How’s it been? I’m so happy to see you! Yeah, Skye this is my sister, Pinkie Pie,” said Rush “We have something special for you so, maybe meet us at Sugarcube Corner around seven tonight?”
“Sounds like a plan. I’ll meet you guys there,” Skye replied.
Pinkie started to say something. “Great, super duper fun, I promise there’ll be games and ca-”Rush had his hoof over Pinkies mouth in an instant, as if he was hiding something
“Now sis, we don’t want to spoil anything now, do we?” Pinkie got this puzzled look on her face that slowly turned to understanding, and she nodded twice before Rush removed his hoof.
“Well, I’d better head back home and finish moving things into my house. I’ll see you at seven okay Rush? Hey Lyra, Bon Bon, are you guys going to be there too?” asked Skye.
“We can’t tell you!” Said Lyra.
“It’s a secret,” Said Bon Bon from beside her friend.
“Alright, I guess I’ll see you guys later then. Bye Rush,” Skye said to his friends as he walked home.
