Rush and Skye's Escapades
The Surprise
Previous ChapterNext ChapterChapter 2: Getting ready, for fun!
The entire time Skye was getting ready for the secret at Sugarcube Corner, he couldn’t get his mind off of the mint green unicorn, Lyra. He did wonder what the big secret was though, I mean, Pinkie did mention games and she was about to say something else. Some kind of big secret, but what could it be? Rush was definitely in on it.
Wondering about it wouldn’t help. The best he could do was meet Rush and head up to Sugarcube Corner for the secret. Skye brushed out his blue mane for the tenth time and made sure he looked nice, and when he was satisfied he checked everything around his house and left to meet Rush at his place. On the way there, Skye thought he heard faint screaming. It grew louder and louder until he heard a feminine voice shout, “Heads up!”
Skye looked behind him and gasped. A grey, wall-eyed, Pegasus with a blonde colored mane was gliding really fast in his direction. Skye let his wings lift him up before he tried, and failed, at catching the run-away Pegasus. They tumbled to the ground and the grey mare ended up practically sitting on Skye.
“Sorry.” she said “I must’ve hit a cloud, or something and I lost it. I’m Ditzy Doo, but someponies around here call me Derpy!”
“Nice to meet you, Derpy, I’m Skye. Are you alright?” He asked. “You came in a bit fast there.” He picked up her mail bag and handed it over to her.
“Yeah I’m okay, thanks. She said, while taking her mail bag. “Listen, I got to go deliver this mail, but it was nice crashing with you.”
“Ha ha ha, that’s a good one, Derpy. I’ve got to get going, but I’ll have to catch up with you later!” Skye shouted while trotting away.
Derpy sat there wondering what he meant by “good one”. Oh well, she had mail to deliver and time was running out.
Skye made it to Rush’s house strangely on time. He knocked on the door and waited for a few minutes for his friend to answer and head out. He knocked again, but this time he heard a piece of glass shatter inside. Skye tried the door, worried his friend was getting robbed, and found it was unlocked. He ran inside to find his friend having a panic attack. It worried him for a moment, then he calmed. Panic attacks were common for Rush, another thing no one knew too much about. With the panic attack came the changing of the mane. It turned yellow and white, and with him almost always running around, it almost looked like his mane was on fire. He tackled his friend to the ground while he shouted words and phrases. The only ones Skye was able to make out were “Secret”, “Can’t be ruined”, and “Skye can’t know yet!” He slapped his friend across the face with his right hoof and shook him a few times “Gold Rush, snap out of it!” he shouted. His friend didn’t like it when he used his full name, but Skye had to, to get him to stop flailing.
His friend sat up slightly and wondered why his friend was sitting on him. Skye had a certain look that he couldn’t resist making after Rush had been in a panic attack. Usually, that was how Rush was able to figure it out.
“Panic attack?” Rush asked.
“Panic attack.” Skye answered.
“You didn’t get hurt did you? You look bruised.” Skye had barely noticed, but his bruises from his encounter with the wall-eyed mail mare were already starting to show.
“It’s a long story, I’ll explain later.” Skye re-assured. “Now I believe you wanted to head over to Sugarcube Corner.”
“We can go, as soon as you get off of my chest,” Rush said with a bit of an attitude.
