Twilight paced around the library floor. She didn’t know what she wanted to do. It was one of her free days, so she didn’t have to worry about some random emergency.
“Princess Celestia would most likely take care of whatever problem there is…” Twilight thought.
She couldn’t think of anything to do! Spike was taking one of his seven hour bubble baths and she already asked her friends if they were free. All of them were busy and most likely wouldn’t be free for another hour or so. All she could do was pace. The idea finally dawned on her. She was in a library with about one hundred books! DUH! It was strange how she forgot. She took out a random book from one of the shelves. The book was titled: Exploring the Aether for Fun and Profit.
“I remember this.” Twilight murmured. “I thought I lost this! I guess Spike found this.”
It was the book Twilight used to accidentally teleport herself and her friends to an alternate universe with every pony including themselves to have a genderbent double! She read the spell over and over remembering their adventure. All of a sudden, she heard a knock on the door.
“Coming!” Twilight yelled. She opened the door and was met with a huge embrace from Pinkie Pie.
“Oh, hi Pinkie,” Twilight said. “I thought you were helping the Cakes.”
“Hiya Twilight!” Pinkie exclaimed. “The Cakes let me go early. They said something about frosting getting everywhere…”
“Well, what brings you here Pinkie?” Twilight asked
.
“Remember our meeting here last week?” Pinkie asked. “Well, I saw this book which was fairly similar to the book that teleported us to see our colt selves!”
Twilight stood there with a surprised look on her face wondering if Pinkie was kidding or not. Pinkie looked happy, but she didn’t look that serious to be acting and wasn’t as excited like she normally was after eating ten cupcakes in a row.
“Here!” Pinkie yelled tossing the book to Twilight. The book’s title was written in a language that Twilight couldn’t understand.
“The spell is on page 28.” Pinkie instructed.
Twilight turned to page 28 as told. It involved a mirror. That was all that was needed. Twilight read it over and was ready to test it. She stood in front of a mirror in a corner of one of her library walls. Her horn lit up as Pinkie “Oooohed” and “Ahhhhhed”. Twilight’s reflection then turned to one of a colt, in other words Twilight’s genderbent, Dusk Shine. Pinkie stayed silent staring at that reflection, not realizing herself not blinking. Twilight started levitating into the air. Closing her eyes tightly, a jolt went from her hooves to her horn, zapping the mirror. Pinkie shielded her eyes from a bright glow while hearing Spike yell from upstairs. A bunch of dramatic lights later (with the help of Pinkie Pie) Twilight opened her eyes slowly. Surprisingly, there was no damage after all those lights and sounds. Twilight’s reflection was still a colt. She slowly lifted her hoof to the mirror to test if the spell worked. BANG! Her hoof met a solid mirror.
“Pinkie,” Twilight said. “It only turns you reflection into a genderbent double.”
“Wait! Maybe this will help.” Pinkie said.
She stood behind Twilight and pushed her into the mirror.
A few minutes later, the pink mare came back with said friends. Everyone "ooooed" and "ahhhhhed" at the mirror spell. It surprised them that it worked. When the rest of the remaining friends, namely FlutterShy, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, and Apple Jack, showed even more surprise than earlier.
"Pinkie," the farm mare said. "I thought you were just talkin' hooey. I guess I shoulda' believed you."
The pink mare gave a nod while winking at the male pegasi. Blitz's face obviously read 'Shut up...'
"Well, let's get this party started!" The pink mare yelled earring a "Yeah!" from her male counterpart.
"Or, we could go for a walk." Dusk suggested. He just wanted to do something calm.
Everyone nodded even the hyper-active party ponies nodded their heads. Pinkie seemed very fond of the idea of walking along-side Dusk. Everyone grabbed their scarves, the mares going back to their Ponyville, and took off. Everyone got a partner. It wasn't with their own counter-part, but something that made Pinkie happy. Pinkie put everypony's name in a hat. FlutterShy and Biltz got paired, male Applejack or AJ, got paired with Rarity, Dusk got Pinkie, and vice versa. Pinkie couldn't wait. This was going to be a great walk.
Twilight went through with Pinkie behind her. She wasn’t sure if it worked or not. She was still in the library. All of a sudden, she heard hoofsteps going downstairs. She then saw her genderbent double come into form.
“Twilight?” the colt asked trying to find out if he was imagining or not.
“Dusk Shine!” Twilight exclaimed. “Pinkie, the spell worked!”
Dusk noticed the pink mare behind Twilight and held a crooked smile.
“See, Twilight? I told you it would work!” Pinkie acknowledged.
“How did you come here?” Dusk asked flabbergasted.
“Pinkie found a spell in one of the books in my library.” Twilight explained. “You must have it, too.”
Pinkie was about to tell Dusk where the book was located, but instantly forgot. She stared at Dusk Shine instantly zoning out from whatever she was thinking about earlier. All she could so was stare at the lavender colt.
“Um, Pinkie,” Twilight said. “Are you on earth with us?”
“Huh?” Pinkie murmured, cheeks going red. “Yes…”
All of a sudden, the library door burst open. A pink colt was at the door.
“I thought I heard familiar voices!” he chirped.
Bubble Berry, Pinkie Pie’s male double, went up to the trio, giving each of them a bone crushing hug. Behind him, stood the rest of the group coming in of the exact order of Rainbow Blitz, ButterScotch, Elusive, and finally Apple Jack. All of who entered stared at the lavender and cotton candy colored mares.
“Dusk Shine,” Elusive spoke up. “Why are they here?”
The named pony gave a shrug as the pink mare said, “Well, I found this really weird book and gave it to Twilight over here. Then I told her to go to page 28 and a bunch of rainbows and magical color things happened. And then Twilight said, “Pinkie, this doesn’t work. You lied to me you big meanie.” Then I said, “How am I mean?!” Then she said, “Just push-“
Twilight covered the pink pony’s mouth and said, “She pushed me through the mirror…”
Everyone nodded knowing that for once, Twilight wasn’t confusing in explaining something.
“OH! Ima go get the others! Now Rainbow Blitz, ButterScotch, and Elusive will be with their loves again!” Pinkie screeched.
The named Pegasi got red in the face earning a chuckle from their friends.
Elusive just said, “Don’t hurt yourself!” This earned him a look of confusion.
Pinkie then ran through the mirror in search of her friends.
