The Demonic Amnesiac
Chapter 4: Swearing in Blood
Previous ChapterNext ChapterA/N: This chapter contains gore. Quite a bit at some parts, read only if you want to. This chapter covers Rampage's and Squidlie's early lives
After the whole Dagger deal with Rainbow Dash, Rampage had gone back to Twilight’s and stayed locked up in his room, pacing back and forth. How did it get to this? He had such a peaceful life before his parents died; and he and his brother were left alone. Their home in the wild had been torched by a group of 2 ponies, whom Rampage had no idea who they were. Their parents, Diamond Shell and Aquamarine, both unicorns, had died in the attack. Diamond died while fighting one of the ponies, and the only thing Rampage could remember was the sword. The wicked sword, different from any other that he had ever seen. It was almost as if it was evil itself, not the wielder, but the sword. Without warning, the flashback hit him hard, bringing him back to the time when everything went to hell for him.
------Rampage’s memory of the whole ordeal------
Rampage and Squidlie, both young colts at the time, were sitting spacey room with a fireplace blazing, couches at every wall. Squidlie had a bowl of water in front of him, and was practicing his hydrokinesis, controlling water, which he got from his mother, who was also able to control water very expertly. Squidlie was able to get it to move and create a miniature waterspout, a tornado made of water by focusing for a minute. Aquamarine smiled in approval.
“You’ve advanced very far in a very short time, Squidlie” she said with a warming smile.
“How does Squidlie learn so fast…?” Rampage thought as he watched on.The only thing he could do with his crystallokinesis was cover small parts of his body with rubies, a fairly weak gem. Rampage focused harder than he ever had, failed a few times, but after the fourth try, found he could cover his front two legs for the first time. He shouted with glee and ran to his dad, who was in his forge.
“Dad! Dad! Look what I did!” Rampage said waving his legs in Diamond’s face.
Rampage’s dad turned away from his blacksmith’s fire to look. His face didn’t change emotions, but his eyes were shining with admiration and pride.
He spoke in a gruff voice; “Good job, that’s my boy!” He said laughing; a deep, booming sound.
Rampage laughed a childish laugh, and ran around showing his whole family. While he was doing so, he knocked over Squidlie’s bowl that he was practicing with, but Aqua was fast enough to catch the water before it hit the ground with her magic, and put it back in. Rampage smiled sheepishly.
“Sorry, Squidlie” Rampage said
Squidlie looked at him and spoke softly; “It’s fine, try not to do it again”.
Aqua realized it was getting dark.
“It’s time to go to bed, it’s getting late.” She hurried her colts up to their room despite all the complaining, and tucked them both in. They weren’t going to go to sleep without some coaxing.
“Hush now, quiet now, it’s time to go to bed” She sang softly, though the roar of the forge’s fire was audible through the floor. After a few minutes, both Squidlie and Rampage were asleep. Aqua crept downstairs to go meet Diamond. She walked into the forge and tapped on his shoulder. Diamond turned around, and a true smile crept onto his face, which was a rare sight.
“Hey Aqua, are the colts asleep?” He asked, hugging her.
“Yes, it took a bit of singing, but they’re asleep.” She said, laughing a little.
********************20 minutes earlier*******************
The wind whistled through my mane as i flew over the tress to my final destination, heart pounding as i passed endless fields of lush forest canopy, relishing what will come to pass. As i was closing in on my destination, i couldn't resist wondering why the master chose US for something as important as this. Sure our “skills” were well known, but never would i believe that THE master would entrust us with something THIS vital...
But while pondering this i realized that my destination was finally approaching, a small house in the middle of a beautiful glade, and all thoughts left my mind as a wild excitement took over my very being as i started to make my way for the forest canopy, fantasizing about the wonderful moment when i could unleash pain upon my target. I saw my partner down below me, lounging against a tree trunk, patiently waiting. I smirked; this pony was cocky, too cocky for his own good. He looked up at me lazily, acting as if I was the one holding him back. I pointed a hoof at the adorable house in the glen, and he nodded. He knew what I was saying. He trotted up to the door.
------back to 3rd person Diamond-------------
While they were talking, Diamond heard a banging on the front door. “Be right back” he said, trotting towards the door. He opened it, and found a stallion with pure white hair, and green draconic looking eyes. He spoke with a cunning intelligence, filled with deceit and menace;
“Are you Diamond Shell?” the mystery stallion said with false friendliness.
“…” Diamond refused to answer and shut the door, sensing the stallion’s menacing aura. Diamond started yelling directions at Aqua; he knew he didn’t have much time.
“Aqua! Get the kids out of here! No questions, just hurry!” Aqua hurried upstairs. When she was halfway up the stairs, she heard the door being broken down. She ran up to Rampage’s and Squidlie’s room and broke down the door. She then grabbed the colts with her magic, opened their bedroom window, and set them down outside.
Rampage and Squidlie both opened their eyes, still groggy from sleep, and realized they were outside. They looked up, confused when they heard their mother calling from above, telling them to run.
Squidlie was the first to recover, and he knew the situation was serious. He grabbed Rampage and started dragging him into the safety of the woods. Rampage gasped when he saw his dad standing off with a strange pony near the front door.
Diamond was squaring off against the stallion that kicked down the door, which had pulled out a sword. Diamond conjured diamonds around his entire body, excluding his forelegs and head. The mysterious stallion realized Diamond was living up to his name.
“So you live up to the legends, the only unicorn that can do crystallokinesis” The stallion said to Diamond.
Diamond replied in a harsh tone; “Don’t come in my house, don’t threaten me, this won’t turn out how you want it to.”
The pure white maned stallion replied; “Let’s find out” he said rushing Diamond, slashing in all directions. Diamond moved his hooves parallel to the stallion’s strikes, deflecting each strike. He threw a jab-cross-uppercut combo at lightning speed, but the stallion dodged and slashed at Diamonds unprotected head. Diamond deflected the blade, and rolled outside. His enemy jumped out the door, slashing downwards. Diamond rolled to the side and counterattacked, bucking to the side. He struck his enemy in his ribs, breaking them. The white maned stallion cursed and attacked again, rushing diamond from the front.
“What a fool” Diamond said, bucking towards the stallion. It was a grave mistake; his enemy sidestepped and sent his sword through Diamonds left front leg, cutting tendons and muscles, sending blood everywhere.
Aqua heard the sounds of gem against steel, and ran to a window overlooking where Diamond and the attacker were. She screamed at the macabre site she witnessed; her husband being chopped like an animal at a butcher’s.
“NO! STOP! WHAT THE ABSOLUTE FUCK ARE YOU DOING?”
************************1st person enemy*********************
The plan was set, all the preparations were made. My partner was keeping Diamond busy, and I had to admit; I don’t know if I could stand up to Diamond. He was strong, insanely so. He moved with the experience of an assassin, with years of practice. I distracted myself long enough to see a mare stick her head out of a window and scream at my partner. Pondering my options, I shrugged. Why the hell not? I can have my own fun, can’t I? I darted from my hiding place faster than a griffin on crack, I landed on the windowsill, staring down the mare with my blood red eyes. She backed down in fear.
“My, oh my, what do we have here?” I said, eyeing her flank. Her cutie mark was a waterfall. ‘great, just great. This mare can control water. Those ones are always so annoying’
I brought a hoof up and smacked her across the face. I didn’t need a weapon. I had hooves, and a intent to kill. I started to beat her against the wall, breaking bones and skin. I put my hooves on her horn.
“This looks important” I said sadistically, snapping her horn off. She let one shriek escape her lips, which caught the attention of the colts hiding in the forest, and of her husband outside before I stopped it by slamming her head against the wall.
Diamond had mostly been dodging on only 3 legs, the one that was cut off leaving a bloody trail. When he heard his wife shriek though, he turned his towards the window out of sheer fear.
“YOU TOUCH HER AND YOU DI-” was all he got out before his attacker slid his sword through diamond’s forelegs, ripping muscles out and sending bone marrow and blood everywhere. Diamond fell forward, his forelegs mere bloody stumps. Diamond’s attacker then started dragging the sword along his back, which was now unprotected due to the injury he just sustained. Tendons ripped, muscles were snapped, blood sprayed up at Diamond’s enemy. Diamond was now pleading for him to stop. His attacker laughed, and shouted up at the window;
“Finish with her! I’m done with him” He said ripping out Diamond’s heart, sending blood everywhere.
I looked out the window.
“Shut the fuck up! I’ll do what I want!” I took her broken horn and turned it around in my hooves. It was sharp, obsidian sharp. I was tiring of this game anyways. I raised the horn in my hooves, and slashed across her flank, drawing blood. She was out cold, so my fun ended here. I trotted to towards the window. Before I left, I threw the horn at her lifeless body. It skewered her right through the eye, sending blood everywhere in the room. I laughed with sadistic pleasure, and flew out to meet my partner again.
“Fuck you man, I broke some ribs. You could’ve at least helped” my partner said through gritted teeth. He was obviously
surprised he took some damage.
“You knew Diamond’s reputation, and you said you wanted to take him alone, so I let you” I said, shrugging.
**************To the view of the colts*************
Rampage and Squidlie had watched everything from the outskirts of the glen, hidden by the cover of the woods and the dark of dusk. Through the dark they could see their dad, covered in gems fighting his attacker. They saw their dad gain the upper hand, but fall at the hands of his attacker. They saw a pegasus go to their mom. They had to assume she was dead, and through their tears, they knew they had to leave. To where? Neither of them had any idea. Rampage’s mind was filled with hatred for the cream colored stallion that killed his dad. Those green Draconic eyes would never leave his memory. He looked back at his house once more and spoke softly;
“I will carry your gift father, and I will see to it that I teach others. You will be avenged” he said, with a bit of cliché.
A/N: I realized i haven’t explained the shipping or either of them arriving in PonyVille. This chapter was a HUGE pain in the ass to complete, and there shall be a part 2 of this flashback. Expect it soon.
