S1E1: The Beginning of Harem-ny

Once upon a time... Two sisters Celestia and Luna... Sun and Moon... Luna got mad about no nightlife... Nightmare Moon... Elements of Harmony... Banished "permanently" (not really)...

"Oh where have I heard about this... Elements of Harmony," Twilight Sparkle thinks out loud.

Theme.

Twilight was making back to her tower study room when her friends Twinkleshine and co. were going in the opposite direction. Seeing Twilight, Twinkleshine extended an invitation.

"There you are Twilight! Moon Dancer is having a little get together in the courtyard, want to come?" asks Twinkleshine.

"Oh sorry girls, I have... studying to catch up on." Twilight replies.

Twilight then departs for her tower study room.

"Does that pony do anything other than study? *sigh* She, Spike, and Moon Dancer were such close friends, what happened?" Twinkleshine finishes to herself and the rest of her friends.

When she arrived, Twilight then slams open the door to her tower study room which causes Spike to fly across the room and crash land destroying the presents for Moon Dancer he has wrapped.

"Spike! SPIKE!" Twilight yelled.

Where is that good looking dragon? *squee*

"*sound of pain* Yes Twilight?" Spike the Dragon replied.

"There you are," she says as she gives him a playful nuzzle, "find me that book on Prophecies and Predictions please... what's that for?"

Twilight Sparkle has never felt so threatened in her life, that present could mean the end of her chances at the love of a...

"Oh, this WAS for Moon Dancer, but..."

Twilight Sparkle has reacted immediately.

"Oh Spike, you know we don't have time for this."

"But we're on a break!"

Twilight goes muzzle to nose with Spike and whispers, "There is no break."

Spike then finds the magical book that Twilight is looking for.

"FOUND IT!"

Twilight then decides to use her magical prowess to yank the book and in turn Spike down to the ground and then she begins to search for what she wanted to look up.

"Let's see... Elements of Harmony, see Mare in the Moon?"

"Isn't that an old mare's tale?"

"Mare, Mare... aha!..."

Mare in the Moon... old tale... Pony wanted to rule Equestria... Elements of Harmony Super Rainbow Blast... Longest Day 1000th year escape... Meh...

"*gasp* You know what this means Spike!"

I won't be able to tell you about the feelings I got!

"That I am going to be dragged on an adventure in the near future?"

"Possibly, anyways, Spike take a note to the Princess!"

"Affirmative."

Teacher! We are on the precipice of disaster! The Mare in the Moon is in fact Nightmare Moon and she is going to return and bring eternal night with it! We must do something to stop it! I await your quick response, your faithful student, Twilight Sparkle.

Spike then uses his flames to send the letter.

"You think a Princess would respond that fast Twilight?"

"Yep, I'm her protege remember?"

"Point taken."

Within 30 seconds a response arrives via D-Mail.

My dearest student, I understand and trust you fully well with what you are saying, but seriously you must stop "studying" and "putting your face in books!"

"WHAT?!"

It just isn't healthy for a young mare like you to be just only "studying". You are lucky that Spike is there to keep you from going insane! That is why I am sending you to supervise this year's Summer Sun Celebration location, Ponyville. And please do make some friends, it is another task I have for you to do. <<< That, your task, do it. "*sigh*"

"Cheer up, you get to stay in a library!"

"You're right Spike, I'll go quickly check up on preparations and then immediately come back to the library to get things done."

"Twilight, I don't think--"

"LET'S GO!"

"--that's what she meant... *sigh*"

Transition to the town of Ponyville.

"Shouldn't you make friends Twilight?"

"The fate of Equestria does not rest on me making friends Spike, so let's get this over with," Twilight replies with a scowl on her face.

"Can't you at least try... for me?"

I can't resist those eyes...

"Fine..." she says with submission as Pinkie Pie entered the scene.

"h-hi..." Twilight meekly says.

*GASP* Look at that dragon! So adorable, my Pinkie Sense is telling me he's going to be a good one! *squee*

"*GASP*" Pinkie says... does... whatevers... and then immediately flees.

"Well that was interesting" Twilight was unamused.

"*sigh*"

Transition to Sweet Apple Acres.

Applejack was currently harvesting apples from the orchard.

Look at that newcomer dragon, so cute, I need to entertain him somehow, oh he's with a pony who's new here also... Idea!

"*sigh* Let's get this over with... Good Afternoon, my name is Twilight Sparkle and..." Poor Twilight wasn't able to finish that sentence as her hoof was rapidly shaken by Applejack.

"WELL HOWDEEDO MISS TWILIGHT PLEASURE TO MAKE YOU AN ACQUAINTANCE! We here at Sweet Apple Acres sure do like making new friends!" Applejack then released Twilight's hoof from the rapid hoof shake. Twilight of course being the naive little unicorn she is, is still shaking hoof.

"*snickers*" Twilight then glares at Spike.

"...this is Spike... my assistant."

This pony...

Ah, so it did work! Spike seems like a fitting name.

"*ahem* I am here to supervise preparations for the Summer Sun Celebration, you are in charge of the food correct?"

"We sure as sugar are! Want to sample some?"

This should totally win me some points with that dragon, err Spike, and also Twilight as she doesn't seem interested in staying... Time to pull out the ultimate weapon!

"Why don't I introduce y'all to the Apple Family?"

Enter huge Apple Family full of super background ponies.

"Thanks, but I really should be--" Twilight attempts to leave but...

"This here is *Insert Apple Family stuff here...* *gasp* Big Mac, Apple Bloom, and Granny Smith!" Applejack introduces the huge Apple Family.

"Why Twilight, Ah'd say y'all are part of the family already." Applejack replies to Twilight with a huge grin.

"Aha... Well I see the food situation is definitely handled here with all of you so we'll be on our way."

Oh oh oh! That dragon over there looks mighty cute, he's even my height! And I overheard he's that new pony's assistant! *squee* (This is Apple Bloom's Color, not to be confused with Fluttershy's.)

Applejack then whispers into Apple Bloom's ear, "Initiate Plan Cute."

Apple Bloom then winks at Applejack and trots up to Twilight and puts on the puppy dog eyes of adorableness which also made Spike a bit flustered.

"Aren't you gonna stay for brunch?"

"I'm sorry, but we have an awful lot to do..."

"*Awwww*" The Apple Family sighs out.

"...Fine..."

"*Cheering*"

Twilight slowly made her way to the table of apple treats while Applejack was in tow.

"So Twilight, where are you from?" Applejack asks.

"I happen to be from Canterlot," Twilight replies while digging into an apple pie.

"Oh a city girl huh? That's mighty inter--"

At this moment, Twilight had a small bite of apple pie and had the greatest sensation of taste ever.

"Oh my goodness Applejack, these apple pies are the best!"

Applejack hid her scowl from being interrupted by the socially awkward unicorn and put on a smile instead, "Ya'll got that right there Twilight, these are the best apples in all of Equestria!"

Twilight then proceeds to devour an illogical amount of apple pies. Meanwhile, Apple Bloom was talking with Spike.

"Oh oh, so your name is Spike right?" Apple Bloom seems eager to talk to someone more her age.

Spike decided to humor her.

"Yep! Number one assistant to Twilight Sparkle!" Spike replies with pride to which Apple Bloom giggles at.

Apple Bloom then brushes up against Spike allowing him to get a whiff of her unsurprising sweet apple scent and of course flicking her tail at his nose.

Oh... (This is Spike's Color.)

The two of them then continued to chat about their earlier lives... which did take a sad turn for Apple Bloom. Spike of course being Number One Assistant, was there to help.

In the end, Twilight and Spike had to leave, and Apple Bloom made sure to give Spike a goodbye hug which did get some level of glare from Applejack.

After they left, Applejack asked her sister while raising her eyebrows, "Ya think he's cute too don't ya?"

"Oh yeah? You were interested too ya know."

"What? I don't know what you are talking about sister."

"Sureeee, you're a bad liar ya know."

Transition to Rainbow Dash segment.

"Ugh... I ate too much pie," Twilight groaned in utmost regret.

"Well, it wasn't my fault that you were so excited when you took your first bite of pie and had that amazing experience. Anyways, next up is a Pegasus named Rainbow Dash who is supposed to be... cleaning... up... the clouds?" Spike answered back while looking at the clearly cloud covered sky.

Rainbow Dash, napping on a cloud, awoke immediately. She heard her name from an unknown pony.

This pony could be shady, or totally dangerous, or... just a... Dragon?! That is so awesome looking and he looks friendly too!

She immediately flew down and said triumphantly, "did someone say my name? Was it you, awesome dragon?"

"Uhhh me? Yes it was. Spike's my name."

"Say, Spike, you look like you are awesome, when your wings grow in you should totally join me in flight training so we can join the Wonderbolts and be one of the greatest acts ever!"

Geez, all these ponies are crazy! And why do they all seem to be so interested in Spike? I have to do something!

"What? You mean THE Wonderbolts, the fastest and best fliers in Equestria?" Twilight spoke in a mocking manner.

"Yeah? You got a problem with that?"

"Why yes Rainbow Dash, for I, Twilight Sparkle have observed that you haven't cleaned up the clouds missy."

"What?!?! I can clean this sky in ten seconds flat!"

"Really now? Prove it."

Twilight Sparkle should not have said that. But sadly in this universe and even in the prime universe, she happened to say those words that will be one of her undoings. Twilight then used her magic to conjure up a 10 second countdown.

"On your mark, get set, GO!"

Rainbow Dash ended up clearing the sky in 7 seconds. Luckily, not tarnishing her reputation. But unluckily for Twilight, she thought of a small prank to do on Twilight for the doubt and sneering she was doing earlier. Luckily for Rainbow Dash, Twilight was too in a daze with her mouth agape at the feat she had witnessed. The Timer she conjured then just poofed out of existence. Rainbow Dash then used her "patented Rain-Blow Dry" to mess with Twilight's mane.

"What did I tell you? Ten Seconds Flat. Well technically I had some extra time so I decided to leave you a little present, just look in the mirror or look up."

Spike just snickered as Twilight looked up to see her mane in a quite considerably poofy state.

"UGHHHH!"

"Yeahhhh, see ya Spike, oh and Twilight too! You two sound like sooo much fun! Gotta Dash!"

Rainbow Dash then left leaving her trademarked rainbow trail.

"She sounds fun don't you think Twilight? Hey don't feel so down, I think you look pretty cute with that mane-do!"

Twilight's ears perked up.

I'm cute? He said I'm cute! *squee*

She then proceeded to give Spike quite the tight hug.

"Twilight, need air..."

In the distance, a certain pink pony who won't appear until later had a thought.

Hey! Tight hugs are my thing Purple Unicorn Pony! Hey that spells PUP! Oooooh I need to get their welcome party ready!

Twilight of course not wanting a dead dragon did as she was told and let out a small squee.

Transition to Town Hall.

"Alright my number one dragon, we're at the Town Hall, apparently a Unicorn named Rarity is doing the decorations."

"Sounds like a frou-frou name."

"Eh... I have a bad notion about this."

"Hey the decorations look beautiful, oh look that must be her now!"

"Right you are Spike. *ahem* Hello, my name is Twilight Sparkle and-"

Rarity of course being busy with the decorations replied, "Tut-tut, hold on a moment dear, I'm 'in the zone' as most ponies put it! Andddd there we go, hello there my name is Rarity and... Wahaha! What happened to your coiffure?" Rarity saw the most frazzled mane ever (well at least for today).

"My mane? Oh yes, aha... Rainbow Dash..." Twilight said with scorn.

"Twilight, this just won't do! Let me take you back to my place, the Carousel Boutique to fix you up and... Wahaha! You have such the adorable dragon! I mean I usually thought that dragons would be, you know, scary, but he's so cute! What's your name?"

"My name is Spike!"

"Wonderful name and very fitting~" Rarity said with a wink.

Transition to Carousel Boutique.

"So Twilight, where are you from?" Rarity asks Twilight as she is tightening a piece of clothing on her.

"I... come... from... Canterlot... WAHHH!" Twilight said with pained breaths then exclaimed.

"Canterlot? *squeals* The capital? Oh we have got to talk about there in the future! All the fashion trends start there you know!"

Oh what luck! Thank Celestia! I have gained a Canterlot friend and a quite handsome drake today!

"Yes... I have noticed that Rarity, well I should get going, and thank you for the apparel and the mane fixing, it was nice meeting someone interested in Canterlot as much as I, albeit for different reasons."

"Aww, but at least can the dragon stay to help me?"

"What?" Spike could only babble.

How many ponies are crazy for my dragon!

"Ahaha... he's my assistant you know and such... ok bye!" Twilight fled with Spike in her magical grasp.

Well that was interesting. Tut-tut back to work Rarity, you can talk to Spike another time.

Transistion to Fluttershy's Cottage.

"Spike, our last stop will be with Fluttershy who is supposed to be doing the music."

"You think with a name like that, her personality is quite obvious."

"Relax Spike, I mean how much crazier can it get?"

Bad thing to say Twilight, it can always get crazier.

"There she is now!"

Fluttershy was busy training birds to do the fanfare for Princess Celestia's arrival. At least until...

"Hi! My name is Twilight Sparkle... and sorry to frighten your birds... and... you are?"

"Um... my name is... *squeak*"

"I'm sorry I didn't quite hear that."

"My name is...*squeak*"

Poor Fluttershy couldn't get her act together, luckily for her she didn't need to as her birds came back.

"Well it seems your birds have came back so I guess we'll be going now."

We? She's not alone?

Fluttershy got her answer as Twilight turned around and saw a quite cute dragon trailing her.

Oh my gosh he is so cute and adorable! *squee* I need to do something!

"*GASP* A young dragon!" Fluttershy was immediately next to Spike.

"Whoa!" Spike could only stutter again.

"Hi, my name is Fluttershy, what's yours?"

"Hi? My name is Spike?"

"You are so cute! Can I hear your life story?"

Might as well entertain her, this is the best treatment this assistant has ever gotten~

"Well I started off as a purple egg with purple polka dots."

One LONG walk back to the Library and a long life story later...

"Alright Fluttershy I think it's time you say goodbye, I've checked all the preparations and clearly all of them are doing fine. Also Spike needs to get some rest."

"Oh dear, does he need his pillow fluffed? Cup of hot milk? Can I help?"

"Ahaha... that won't be necessary. thanks for the offer though."

"But, but"

"No buts here Fluttershy."

"*sigh* fine." Fluttershy was devastated, but then she remembered.

Pinkie was going to throw a party for them. He still was quite adorable though. Speaking of which, I think there Pinkie is calling me over to a secret entrance to surprise her.

So she took her "leave" peacefully. Twilight closed the door peacefully unlike some uncivilized alternate Twilight.

"*ahem* So Spike, we need to convince the Princess who seems to have gone crazy that Nightmare Moon is returning! Now let's turn on the light, it's dark in here."

*flick*

"SURPRISE!"

"OH MY GOSH you ponies, a library is supposed to be QUIET!"

"But silly Twilight! This is a surprise party, and also the Princess loaned this to you didn't she?" Pinkie being unusually logical for once.

I need to convince her to let us stay, that dragon is soooo cute!

"Right... but..."

"No buts Twilight! You said that to Fluttershy, so here we are, LET'S PARTY! And by the way the name's Pinkie Pie! You know, the one that went all *GASP* at you when you arrived?"

And then they partied like it was 1000 years later from Nightmare Moon's banishment. Of course Twilight wasn't being in quite the partying mood so then opted to trot over to a table and pour what she thought was a nice glass of... punch. Unfortunately for her, that was not punch, it was hot sauce. Twilight wasn't known to be a pony who can handle spice. Tears started to build up in Twilight's eyes. Anyways, 4 of the 5 "friends" she met and Spike looked quite concerned about it.

"Twilight? You're breaking a sweat."

"Darling, you don't look so fine."

"Oh my..."

"You are looking kind of pale there Twilight."

"Ya'll right there sugarcube?"

Twilight made the sound of a train whistle.

"Ooooo! She must be filled with joy!"

Twilight had never felt this humiliated in her life. She fled to her room. Spike was concerned about this of course considering he was brought forth by her when she was just 5 years old and here she just humiliated herself. He propped open the door to her room.

"Twilight?"

"Oh leave me alone Spike, go enjoy the party with the 5 mares and filly you met."

"Seriously is this what this is all about Twilight? I am not allowed to have friends? You already know I care for you a lot. Heck, I even sleep in the same bed as you after most of these years, also I feel like I know you a bit more than you think."

"Really now Spike? What can possibly--" Twilight Sparkle was unable to finish this sentence as Spike went in for a kiss. It was a innocent one nonetheless but it got the point across quite well.

"I'll always be here for you Twilight, just remember that, friends or not, I'll be here. And also, it's quite obvious they are all into me, but still it's your call for what you want to do about that."

"I understand Spike."

"And also, they are very good ponies to get to know, and yes I do appreciate them too, although their advances... were quite fast..."

"Alright Spike, thank you for being here for me" Twilight replied while giving her dragon a loving nuzzle.

"No problem Twilight, now let's go! Princess Celestia is about to raise the sun!"

Well that was fast. Anyways, I hope that Nightmare Moon thing was just all an old pony's tale... since I would like to spend more time with Spike now that he revealed he knew all along.

Final Transition of the Episode.

Everyone arrived at the Town Hall to witness the sunrise, and the seven acquaintances that Twilight has made all seem to be crowded around her and Spike.

"Ooooo! Twilight! Are you this excited, since I sure am! Oh my gosh this is going to be so amazing!"

"Calm down Pinkie Pie, it's starting!"

"Fillies and Gentlecolts... magic of sunrise... longest day of the year... INTRODUCING, PRINCESS CELESTIA!"

The curtains opened, no one was there. A collective gasp could be heard throughout the room. It was just then that a dark violet/blue mist started to rise and collect at where Celestia was supposed to be. It formed into the shape of an alicorn. There was yet even more gasping from the crowd as they cowered in terror. Surprisingly, no one fainted, not even Rarity.

"What did you do to the princess!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed while charging at Nightmare Moon.

"Whoa there, Nelly..." Applejack retorted as she decided to bite on Rainbow Dash's tail so she wouldn't do anything brash.

"Oh, my beloved subjects, it's been so long, I think hardly any of you remember me." Nightmare Moon spoke.

"I DO! You're Nightmare Moon!" Twilight interjected.

"Well well well, someone who remember's me, I'm sure you know what I am here to do."

"You're here to..."

"*chuckles* Remember this day little ponies, for it was your last. From this moment forth, the night shall last FOREVER! *more laughter and thunder effects*"

Twilight was holding Spike really close as a security blanket as she realized this was reality. Of course this got her some looks from the 6 ponies around her.
