Chapter-11 Tennis racket and a lovers quarrel [Un-Edited]

It was noon and the two princesses and Night stood before all of the off duty guards they were gathered on the training grounds of the royal guard. All of the training dummies and courses were removed to allow for a fighting ring to be made. Luna and Night were staying in the back on either side of Celestia neither so much as glancing at the others direction. Then once everyone was quiet Celestia spoke.

"Guards you are gathered here to pass a test before you are assigned to the night guard that shall be entrusted with the vital task of serving as my sisters guard. And to those few who are afraid, observe these trials and hone your skills and bravery."-Celestia stopped for a second to observe her guards faces took in a deep breath and continued her speech.
"The challenge will be a simple one a group of 5 guards shall fight my sisters personal servant Night Shadow who stands behind me.
Both sides are forbidden from causing permanent harm to their opponents and both sides can surrender at any time. Finally no active or toggle magic is to be used as such pegassai are to stand grounded and unicorns are forbidden from using spells. This is to be a true display of weapon mastery as such use your skills to their fullest but keep the rules in mind. As I am sure you are all aware by now any who take the test would be transferred to my sisters guard but only those of you who could defeat Night Shadow shall double their pay for doing so. Are there any question if not I am sure General Prince Blue Blood would like to be the first to try his hoof at this challenge alongside his tem."-Celestia finished a little winded.

A single hoof was raised. Celestia pointed at it and commanded the pony to speak.
"I am a new recruit your majesty so I might not be understanding something but wouldn't fighting five against one be unfair."

"I agree but I ,my sister and Night Shadow agreed on that number and I would not change it. Now are there any other questions?"

"I belie that there is no need for further questions. I Blue Blood of the house of prince Blood shall defeat sir Night Shadow and demonstrate that this test is not impossible"-At this all the guard ponies cheered while Luna walked up to her sister and spoke quietly.

"Prince? Blue Blood. What has thy done in our absence?"-Luna said in a judgemental voice.

"It is only a title sister I swear I shall explain but for now know that I am still pure and enjoy the show Night preforms for us."-At the mention of Nights name Luna's ears flattened.

"Yes let us do that. Has thee thought of a suitable "weapon" for Night sister?"- Luna said hurriedly

"Why yes this one was suggested to me during day court."-Celestia said as she levitated the tennis racket

"Well then present him with thy weapon we shall await for thee upon the platform the guards provided so that we may observe the fights more easily ."-Celestia was perplexed at her sisters tone but headed towards night regardless.

"You are to wield this for the first fight."-Celestia said as Night took the tennis racket from her telekinetic grip.

"Are you certain this weapon has range and a solid grip?"-Night asked unsure why the princess who had shouted for his death would give him such a weapon. As he swung the racket with some force the air could be heard whistling around it.

"It was requested by your opponent. Now you should head for the ring unless you wish to loose for absence.

With this Celestia teleported to her sister and Night headed to the ring. Once he stepped inside everypony but Blue Blood and four other guards left the ring. Night walked to the middle looked at his opponents and spoke.

"Don't forget that you can surrender at any point."-Almost all of the guards laughed the only ones who didn't were the two guards who had fought him earlier and the few friends they had told of the fight.

"You truly believe that a commoner like you can defeat one of the house of Blood I shall teach you some humility."-Blue Blood yelled as he pulled out a sword and charged on two legs.

Night looked at the racket then charged forward and impelled the tennis racket on the sword the strings were cut and snapped from their pressure and flew around hitting both Night and Blue Blood. At this Night turned the handle 20 times in rapid succession back and fourth. From the many weak blows Blue Blood lost grip of his sword and it was sent flying upward as half of the racket was now smashed into splinters from the force exerted on it. As the sword was falling down Night caught it in his left hand.

"Ah you caught my sword nice job now give it back so we can continue."-Blue Blood said as everyone else was frozen by the unbelievable display of speed and precision.

"All weapons are mine to command."-Was the cryptic reply he received before Night slung his right hand with all his strength. The wind whistled trough the now loose string before they hit Blue Blood on the side of his torso. The strings created 5 lines from his back to his stomach. Blue Blood fell to the ground from his back hooves as blood started to flow from his new wounds. They weren't deep wounds just enough to make blood flow.

In his pain he screamed "Get him" which shook the 4 other ponies from their amazement and they charged at him. There was a pony biting on a sword the edge pointing to the ponies right side on Nights left running on all fours and another wielding a spear on 2 legs charging at him. And 2 ponies with spears charging in the far back.

Night turned the sword he had got to face the ground as he bent his left hand then crouched and charged at the sword wielding pony. The two swords formed a cross and they both stopped. Night winded his right hand in front of his face and then began a spin focusing more strength on his hands. The sword wielding pony began turning its head from the force as it wouldn't let go of the sword but the force proved too great and it fell to the ground her sword flying away from her. Once the sword pony had fallen Night gained a lot of momentum and extended his legs putting even more force into the spin. He extended his right hand and the string of the now broken racket caught the tip of the spear of the guard closest to him he pulled adding yet more force to his spin. As he spun the but of the spear the racket was holding touched the noses of the other 2 charging guards. As he was finishing his spin he let go of the racket and the spear was sent flying until it hit the wall next to Luna's head on the stage that was made especially for the princesses to better observe the fight.

Night stood up and while looking at the completely shocked guards he said calmly." You can surrender at any time." Then he turned to the frightened face of Luna and looked her in the eyes and spoke again. " If I wanted you dead that badly you would be." After that he looked at Celestia "I told you it had a long reach." and then he smirked. No one moved until Blue Blood was faced with his sword. Only 2 words escaped his mouth before he fainted.
"I Surrender"

Shouts out again to JoeyJumper94 for his suggestion decided to go with wood racket because I didn't think Blue Blood would be brave enough to give his opponent anything that was metal.

As for why Night was pissed at Luna learn to read between the lines its in last chapter. Or you could comment and I can make a filler chapter.
