Chapter-26 Knowing ones attunement [Edited]

As they walked Luna summoned a scroll and a quill and started to write a message then levitated it in front of Night. He didn't even seem to notice. Finally frustrated, she spoke imbuing her voice with magic so Night would understand her.

"NIGHT, READ THE MESSAGE!" As Night heard this he was snapped from his thoughts and his gaze forcefully focused on the letters that were levitated before him.

"You failed! We will both need to be convincing or Celestia will not believe it once she is confronted with the guards reports, " once Night had read the last symbol of the message the parchment suddenly burst into flames and was destroyed.

{How can I be more convincing with my feelings? I can't ask her in a letter as the guards will see it and realize that its an act. I Can't lie since they can't understand me. Wait, Luna lied by using her body while her words spoke half truths. Yes, I will lie by being closer to her.

I will have to make it visible to all the guards that I have feelings, for Luna. So that the lie has no chance of being discovered.} As Night finished thinking he walked towards Luna and put his right arm over her neck. Pulling her slightly closer and forcing her body to touch his.

The six guards and Luna were startled, but Luna didn't struggle not sure if she could get away before he hurt her. As they proceeded the guards kept pace, Luna realized that Night wasn't attacking her because of what she said.

As the princess began to relax so did the guards although they kept staring at the two. As they kept walking, the guards couldn't help but feel as though they were seeing something private yet they couldn't stop staring.

One was an alicorn princess, and the other a skillful warrior, that had defeated them in an unbelievable display of power, and yet they acted like a colt and his marefriend on hearts and hoofs day. Unable to keep their hooves off one another.

As the guards and the snuggling form of Night and Luna reached the camp site where they would be staying. The Princess ordered the guards to secure the perimeter and gather as much fire wood as they can carry.

The guards were reluctant to leave the two lovebirds although now it was for a different reason then when they left Canterlot but they hurried and followed the order when Luna said that she would attempt to teach Night magic. Once the guards were far enough away so that they couldn't hear the princess. She imbued her voice with magic and spoke as quietly as she could to Josh.

"I WILL IMBUE MY MANE WITH MAGIC AND THEN PERCEED TO USE IT TO DRAW SOME OF YOUR MAGIC ENERGY FROM YOU. IT IS AN OLD TECHNIQUE USED FOR DRAINING YOUR OPPONENT OF THEIR MAGIC AND AS SUCH, IT WILL BE PAINFUL. REMAIN CALM AND DONT FIGHT IT OR YOU MIGHT BE WOUNDED DUE TO YOUR LACK OF A HORN. IT IS THE FASTEST WAY TO DETERMINE YOUR MAGIC AFFINITY." As Luna said this, colorful sparks spread through her mane and tail causing it to become darker and translucent. Small lights stayed in her mane even after the multi-coloured sparks disappeared.

Night was a little surprised as Luna's mane moved towards him resembling a tentacle wrapping itself around his hand. He almost fought it before remembering what Luna had said.

He felt his hand start to heat up causing a burning sensation to envelop his skin. The next second his hand became numb, and he fell to the ground succumbing to his weight as he started feeling cold. Luna retracted her mane shivering and imbued her mane with magic before she spoke again.

"Y-YOU'RE MOST SUITED FOR THE ALTERATION OF THE PHYSICS AROUND YOU. ALSO, YOUR MAGIC RESERVE IS PATHETIC. I ONLY TOOK ENOUGH MAGIC TO CAST A SIMPLE SPELL, AND YOU'RE ALREADY SPENT. IF YOU ARE TO HOPE TO GAIN THE MEANS TO DEFEND YOURSELF JOSH ROVERS, WE SHALL HAVE TO REPEAT THIS PROCESS THREE TIMES A DAY FOR A WEEK AND FORCE YOU INTO SLEEP TO REPLENISH YOUR POWER. AND THANKS TO YOUR FAILURE THAT MEANS THAT WE SHALL SHARE A TENT SO THAT WE ARE NOT COMPELLED TO KISS TO DECEIVE THE GUARDS OF OUR 'FEELINGS'. GET UP AND SET UP OUR TENT.THE SOONER YOU REST THE SOONER WE CAN DO IT AGAIN." Luna said as she levitated the tent parts to herself. Given how magically exhausted he was she doubted Night would actually be able to get up, let alone set up a tent.

Much to her surprise Night got up and spoke in his strange language as he began setting up the tent. It was only after he had set up the tent and fainted from exhausted that Luna realized that she had forced him to do it with magic.

{I'm sure he would believe me if I said that mind control magic is easier to resist the more you are exposed to it. For now I must get him inside a sleeping bag and prepare to explain to the guards that we are sharing a bed.}

As Night was sleeping the guards began to come back in groups of two carrying absurd amounts of firewood. Once all the guards were accounted for, Luna spoke.

"My loyal night guard. I shall Uhm share a tent with Night Shadow to um make sure his magic doesn't go out of control as we will be increasing his magic reserve at a dangerous rate." Luna said as she fidgeted with her hooves.

"Um, princess sorry for asking, but why are you even teaching him magic?" one of the guards inquired

"Ah well, he asked us to teach him so he could better defend me. I did say it was unnecessary, but he was persuasive. Set up your tents and make a meal I am sure Night will be famished when he wakes up and I know for a fact that he can eat meat so please make enough for him as well."As Luna said this she went inside the tent where Night slept and closed the shutter leaving six terrified guards in her leave.
