Chapter-27 For freedom[Edited]

"Princess Luna I am sorry to disturb you. But the guards wanted you to make sure that the food is acceptable before Night Shadow awoke," the rather excited Vibrant Arts said as she barged into the tent where Night was resting using Luna's back as a pillow.

"Then perhaps you should be quieter miss Arts," Luna said in a hushed tone as Luna got up, doing her best not to disturb Night's slumber as she left the tent to investigate the food.

Night was awoken from a cold breeze. As he was still yawning, Night felt something sharp hit his forehead. The surprise shook him from his drowsiness, and he looked around searching for his attacker. Much to his surprise, all he saw was a paper plane laying on the ground before him. Curious he picked the piece of paper and unfolded it, discovering a message written on it.

"If there is anything you desire, come alone to the woods near the camp now. We can negotiate a deal. If you don't come alone or you're followed, I shall retract this offer. Feel free to bring your weapons but know that, if you attack me you will regret it."

{This is unexpected. I suppose I must take the risk, seeing as how Luna has used her magic to control me against my will again I should take, some parchment and my swords to make sure we can communicate.} As Night thought this he grabbed some parchment, quills, and an ink bottle. He placed his items and the message in the pockets of his jeans. He then proceeded to strap his swords to his back with straps that went over his shirt. He was just about to exit the tent when Luna entered, and his lips met her muzzle resembling a kiss.

Luna was surprised at the thing that had stopped her from entering the tent. But in the next moment she noticed Night staring at her eyes in surprise. Sudden realization struck her, and her horn lit up throwing Night out of the tent and Night landed painfully outside of the tent on his back.

Once Luna came back to her senses, she rushed to Night's side, who was still trying to catch his breath and used her magic to speak as she healed him.

"WE ARE SORRY, IT WAS JUST SO UNEXPECTED, PLEASE FORGIVE ME," Luna said in a pleading voice as the guards gathered around them wanting to see what all the commotion was

When Night's new minor wounds were gone, he got up and proceeded to grab a piece parchment, quill, and the ink bottle from the pockets of his jeans. Then started to write a message calmly before presenting it to Luna.

"For the third time today you have used your magic on me without permission or reason. I am going to go hunting in the woods. If either you or any of the guards follow me; I will be eating a pony tonight."

Luna gulped and stepped away from Night as he crumbled the message and put it into his pocket, before walking into the woods. Two of the guards wished to follow him to make sure he was safe. But the princess swiftly stopped them and reminded them that he defeated over one hundred guards alone. The guards accepted it as fear crossed their faces at the memory. Then agreed to eat the food they had cooked and get some much-needed rest.

{That was unplanned but it worked out for the better at least I am confident that this mysterious person will show up. I wonder if they can actually follow up on their offer.} As Night thought, he noticed a paper plane fly towards him as he did he hastily snatched it from the air mid-flight.

"Thank you for coming alone. I do not wish to reveal my identity yet. Simply write your desire on the parchment, leave it, and head back for your camp. You will find a dead cockatrice near the forest edge that will help with your deceit. A sign of good will."

{How did this mysterious stranger learn about the lie I used to get here alone? And they even prepared something to help me keep that lie to prevent me from hunting to avoid the possibility of me running into this mysterious character. If anything they have proven themselves resourceful. I will give them a chance.} Night thought as he got his ink and quill and wrote his reply before he proceeded to toss the parchment to the ground and head back to the camp.

Once Night was out of sight, someone picked up the parchment and read the desire that Night had written.

"FREEDOM!"

As Night walked back to the camp, he noticed the half lizard half chicken body that was lying on his path. He picked it and walked towards the camp. Upon exiting the woods, he was greeted by a worried Luna, who spoke without giving him any time to react.

"NIGHT CAN WE TAKE IT THAT THOU WILL NOT BREAK OUR TRUST AND ATTACK OUR SUBJECTS."

As Night took out his parchment, quill, and ink bottle out of his jeans, Luna's horn began to glow. Shadow was annoyed at that fact and said something in his language but went on to write a message and present it to the princess.

"So long as you, write your words, and don't use your magic on me without my permission or for good reason. I will not harm your subjects, or your sister without permission or for a good cause. And of course if you wish to keep your deceit. You will teach me magic."

Luna relaxed after reading the message and took the writing materials from Night and wrote her reply.

"I agree to your terms, but be warned should you kiss us again without warning I will use my magic on you even if it were by chance. Once you are done cooking and eating your dinner, I will drain you of your magic again. It is so you can work up the magic reserves you will need for spell casting."

As Night read the answered, he nodded in agreement then began heading for the fire spearing the cockatrice on one of his swords. At the display, Luna barely held her dinner down but decided not to comment.
