A Tale of Many Worlds

Sonic barely avoided the large metal fist of the robotic suit that Eggman wore. He let out a chuckle and rushed at the man, quickly delivering a swift kick to his chest, and although it didn't do much damage was enough to stagger the man. "This is probably the smallest suit you've used so far. I have to say that I'm disappointed." Sonic said.

"Why you little...!" Eggman said, cutting himself off. "All Badnik's focus your attacks on Sonic!" Eggman shouted, which prompted the insect and animal like robots to ignore the soldiers that fired their gauss rifles and threw grenades, among other things. Sonic let out another chuckle and began to unleash a string of homing attacks against the robots, breaking open their metal shells, releasing the animals trapped inside.

"C'mon Eggman! I thought you'd put up a better fight than this!" Sonic taunted, shooting forward and slamming himself into Eggman's chest, knocking the scientist onto his back, which caused a small black cube to fall from the suit. Sonic moved over and picked it up, just as Raynor approached.

"No more Badniks or Eggpawns. Just this clown." Raynor said, motioning towards Eggman.

"So Eggy? What's with this?" Sonic asked, holding out the object.

"L-Listen, do whatever you want with me! Just don't break that box!" Eggman shouted, which made Sonic frown.

"All right I won't." Sonic said, which made Eggman let out a confused gasp.

"WHAT!? WHY IS IT THAT EVERY SINGLE TIME I'VE SAID THAT IN THE PAST YOU'VE DESTROYED THE OBJECT IN QUESTION ANYWAY!? OH, BUT NOW WHEN i ACTUALLY WANT YOU TO DESTROY IT, YOU DON'T! JUST SMASH THE STUPID THING ALREADY!" Eggman yelled, his normally pale face turning bright red with anger, while his mustache began to flair out at the ends.

"If you want me to do something, then I'll do the opposite. for two reasons. One: It usually means you lose. Two: I like to make you mad." Sonic replied with a grin.

"I hate you so much!" Eggman yelled, but a third robot arm shot out from the suit's chest and knocked the box out of Sonic's grasp. It fell and shattered against the grass, which revealed a small device that fell onto the ground. It was large enough to bee seen in the tall grass, but small enough for Sonic to pinch between his pointer and thumb.

"What's this Eggman? Some kind of world-domination machine?" Sonic asked, but Eggman began to laugh.

"Not exactly, it's known as flash-bang." Eggman said, and the machine exploded in a bright flash of white light. Sonic felt Eggman roll out from under his foot, and he let out a groan. Before he could react he felt a metal hand slam into his stomach, knocking him over.

"Aww... Did the poor widdle hedgehog fall over?"  A voice asked. Sonic instantly recognized it, and slowly forced his eyes open. floating above him was Bill. "Look at you. So fallen over and helpless." Bill said, his eye squinting, almost as if he was smirking.

"I'm not helpless yet!" Sonic yelled, curling into a ball while leaping straight up. This took Bill by surprise and as a result allowed Sonic to land a hit directly onto his exposed eye.

"AH MY EYE! EGGMAN, KILL THIS SAVAGE!" Bill shouted, covering his face. Sonic was able to dodge the next strike Eggman made, and spun, revealing a large battery pack.

"Really Eggman? You couldn't try to keep your suit's weakness a little more protected?" Sonic asked, quickly leaping towards the pack, disconnecting it from the suit. Eggman fell over, with his suit powerless he was unable to move.

"GAH! YOU... YOU... YOU WRETCHED LITTLE HEDGEHOG!" Eggman yelled, his face again becoming the bright red. "I WON'T STAND FOR THIS!" He shouted, but once again found that Sonic's foot was on his chest.

"Maybe not, but it looks like you'll take it lying down." Sonic replied with a grin, as Eggman fumed, Bill made his escape, furious as what had happened.

Sonic returned to town, following him was Eggman who had his hands bound, while several of Raynor's soldiers followed, making sure he didn't try to run. The inhabitants of Ponyville began to cheer at this sight, one of the world's villains has been captured and would be locked up where he belonged, and they had Sonic to thank for it, for Raynor and his boys, wouldn't accept the credit. Sonic waved at the people, ponies, and other creatures as well, as they all cheered for him. To tell the truth he was a bit embarrassed, he had gotten used to being just a normal member of town, now it was like he had never even left his own little world.

"Sonic!" Mabel shouted, running over with Dipper and Fluttershy, while Stan trailed behind. She nearly tackled him with a hug, as Dipper and Fluttershy joined in. Sonic grinned, before looking back at Eggman, who had his head hung low in shame.

"So... Where'd your little buddy head off to?" Sonic asked, but Eggman lifted his head and revealed a smile.

"You'll never stop Bill. He'll destroy all of you! And he'll destroy this world as well!" Eggman shouted, before starting to laugh, but Sonic pressed his hand against his chin.

"Wouldn't that mean he'd destroy you too?" Sonic asked, and Eggman suddenly began to realize.

"You've got to stop him! He's insane! I don't want to die!" Eggman shouted, with terror obvious in his voice, terror that had been there a long time. It made Eggman sound much older than he really was, almost ancient. He looked older too, Sonic could pick out graying hairs in his mustache. The roars of the crowd still filled the air, while Sonic frowned before turning and walking towards his house, hoping that he would be able to make sense of everything.

Bill floated into the hidden facility, and passed through the floor until he was at the lowest level. "Bowser! Vexus! Wilfre! How you three doing?" Bill asked, but they simply stared at him. "So... I've got some bad news... Eggman may have been captured." Bill said, which made Wilfre spit out the water he was drinking.

"WHAT!? That big headed bozo was the only thing keeping your plan together! He was working on Organism R-57!" WIlfre shouted, splashing the water at Bill, who was unable to dodge.

"Hey! That's slightly irritating!" Bill shouted, before regaining his calmness. "Look, we can have the Space Pirates finish working on Ridley, they've still got all of Eggman's data and plans don't they?" Bill asked, and Wilfre quickly nodded. "So we don't need to worry, do we?" Bill asked, and Wilfre slowly shook his head. "Good. Now then, if you'll excuse me... I've got a date with destiny..." Bill began pulling out a large pocket watch. "In about ten days, two hours, fifty minutes, and twenty three seconds... Twenty two seconds... Twenty one seconds..." Bill finished, beginning to count down the time until his plan would be set in motion.
