Chapter One – At Sunset***

The old building Oldtic Antics shop stood alone in the mix of model day buildings, a busy high street and large skyscrapers. The old man stood outside it doors looking at how little attraction it brings because of the heavy construction work around the old shop, he sighed seeing this building the shop and home he lived for so long now had it final day.

A young man with short brown hair walking down the only access to the store wearing an white t-shirt with a brown jacket, blue jeans and white trainers. “Morning grandpa, I'm here to help as promised.”

“Indeed you always have Wayne.” The elderly man put his hand on his grandson's shoulder. “Today hopefully be a busy final day.” He remove the hand and enter the shop.

Wayne taking a look around at the stilled construction machines, they had agreed to not do any work today and they kept their word. “Bloody dicks and their stupid shopping centre...” Wayne entered the shop to get ready for a hopefully busy day.

His grandpa adjusted some of the antics on display. “I wish things could have been different.”

Wayne sat at the counter looking out the window. “I know what you mean Grandpa. I've spent so much of my life here helping you out run the place in my free time.”

A man walked in wearing a security uniform with a clean cut ginger hair standing at 6ft 8” tall. “Geoffrey it good to see you again, I heard you might need a hand at the door and in store to keep the crowds in check.”

The elder chuckled lightly. “Ricky my good friend it be a pleasure for the extra hand at help.” He held out his hand to the tall man, Ricky took his hand and shook it carefully.

“It would be great to have someone to keep things in order my friend, thank you for coming on short notice.” Geoffrey patted him on the arm.

Ricky smirked looking around. “I will do what I can for you. But I just hope that no good for nothing millionaire Mr Ace don't cause some sort of trouble.”

Wayne clenched his hand into a fist at the sound of that name. “That good for nothing prick is the reason why my gramps home and business is closing down!”

“It a real shame I got so much from here and it at good and honest value, I don't understand why he couldn't just have a slot in the new shopping centre for you to have Geoffrey”

The old man just shrugged. “I believe it personal for the wealthy businessman, it most likely to do with an item I will never sell for any value.” Geoffrey look at the scroll case in the display. “I believe it to do with the scroll I found last night that fell out of it. I bet it to do with that.”

“More more more...” Wayne grumbled. “That what he wants, he want more money and I bet it something to do with the  true value of it Grandpa.” Wayne answered.

Geoffrey open the case up taking it out and handing it to Wayne. “Then you should have it.”

“Grandpa...” Wayne stared at the gold scroll capsule in his hands. “I can't acc-”

“I am old and won't be always around, even with the place you got for me, I won't last forever. So take it and keep it.” Wayne nods and opened it up. “What are you doing Wayne?”

Wayne took the scroll out. “Want to see what on this, you never read it right?”

“No, I never knew there was an scroll in it.” Geoffrey answered.

Wayne rolled it out as Ricky saw a few people outside.

“Shall we get this final day started?” Ricky suggested.

“Yes that would be a good idea.” Ricky went to the door with Geoffrey.

Wayne looked at the words displayed on the scroll there written words didn't make any sense but before his own eyes they changed shape and formed into English. “Whoa...” He muttered and looked at the words he now could read.

“By Sunset's rays the wings and hooves

Taking flight till sunrise light

From one element to all

The magic ever lasting

May this be true in feathers and fur”

Soon as he was reading the words out the whole scroll glowed with energy invisible to Wayne's eyes but when he finished saying the words out the scroll glowed with a blue light for a second and unaware that an aura of magical energy had left the scroll shaped as an Pegasus and entered his body, the blue light he saw for a split second was the last of it entering his body.

The words changed back into their original characters again. “That was seriously weird...” Wayne rolled it up and put it away in the capsule closing it up believing it was just his imagination at work again.

Ricky turn the sign over to let those that would be coming the store was open.

Wayne sat at the counter ready to check out the items and Geoffrey would be working on the floors to give the customers best value answers, they was in their positions for the first customers to enter the Oldtic Antics shop.

From soon as the store opened the people started to come in by a few at first picking up antics and buying them from the get go. Geoffrey hard at work telling about each of them to those that was interested in getting background checks while Wayne taking cash or card payments for each item that was sold.

The customers came and went buying at least one or many antics from the store at discounted or renegotiated prices between Geoffrey and the buyers. People enjoying the music that was being played, having an enjoyable time chatting with the store owner one last time, the atmosphere for all was rather pleasant for all.

“The suit of armour is £550 please.” Wayne took the cash and gave the customer his change. The man with help from his friends carried the old armour out of the door. “How much we got left to sell grandpa?”

Geoffrey took check of the stock and checking through the list on the clipboard, raising his glasses on to his head he took a good look. “The shop closes in about ten minutes and we still got about a quarter of the antics left to sell. If we don't I will donate them to charity.”

Wayne smiled at the idea of sending the remaining stuff to charity. “I will start looking for best places to take them to where it would do some good for those in need grandpa. After the shop closes.”

“You done so much and continue to do so grandson, thank you.” He put his hand on the shoulder of his grandson.

A set of claps from a businessman caught their attention. It was no other then Mr Ace, with pure black hair gelled back in style he wore a sunglasses, black suit and tie, polished shoes. He set down the steps walking up to them. “A noble cause you have but pointless.” He stood before them, the guard clench his fist feeling rather unhappy to see this jerk here and now.

Geoffrey did a lower motion with his hand to Ricky without Mr Ace seeing it and Ricky at eased. “Mr Ace the shop closes in a few minutes we sold all we can and donating what left to charity, it is my choice at the end of the day to do with what left here in my shop before days end.”

“That is true.” Mr Ace said removing his sunglasses putting them in the inside pocket of his suit. “But not if you sold everything though, cost of lose of business of my workers today and so on.” He clicked his fingers and the lady that was with him calmly gave the case she held. “This should cover for all the remaining antics and delivery cost.” He opened it up to show the cash all in 50 pound notes.

Wayne was now tempted to punch this guy in the face. “Now before you take this, here is the cost for my works, contract distribution, legal costs, count costs and so on.” He pulled out a sheet of paper and gave it to Geoffrey.

The elderly man put his glasses back on and took a good look at the costs. “This is insane! What we made today and what you paying for... I only get back about 30 percent of it!”

“Indeed and it all legal too, you can fight this if you wish but if your grandson or your guard friend up there like to lay a hand on me it can easily be nothing.” Mr Ace said so ever calm about it. “But I will let you off to 70 percent because I am being generous.” Mr Ace smirked. “That would include the scroll capsule too though.”

Wayne smirked not going to let him on that it was in his backpack. “Sorry no go it been sold already, you should have been here this morning, it was the first to be sold.” Wayne was telling a half truth since he got it from Geoffrey as an gift.

Mr Ace glares at the young man staring right into his eyes. “Then tell me...”

“Sorry because I was the one to buy it and not selling it on to anyone.” Wayne answered. “I bought it as a paying customer. Unless you want to go down the legal road on that Mr Ace. Cause I am sure they will side with me by law.”

Mr Ace grumbled under his breath. “Bloody no good for nothing...” He took a few deep breaths. “Fine, since I wasn't here this morning I can't argue that. So I'll still go with the deal before as a generous person.”

The notes was lay out on the counter. “So do we have a deal part from the capsule?”

“Yes.” Geoffrey shook his hand and Mr Ace turn to leave with his assistant  with the remaining money. “We will have it delivered to your warehouse by tonight.”

Mr Ace step up to the door to leave and look back one more time. “My trucks are outside, have a nice day.” With that they left.

Ricky hit his fist against the palm of his other hand. “That two face no good for nothing bloody dick!”

“It ok Ricky. I had a feeling he might pull something like this.” Geoffrey turn to Wayne. “That is why you have it now Wayne, you can keep it safe. I do not know why he really wants it so badly but it best you keep it safe.”

Wayne nod. “I sure will grandpa.” He start putting the cash away. “Grandpa after I finish cashing up, I will be taking a walk in the park before going home if that ok?”

“No need to tell me Wayne your a adult not a child or a teenager.” He chuckled. “Ricky and I will be able to get everything on Mr Ace trucks.”

“And I will make sure Geoffrey get home as well.” Ricky said to the young man and noticed a bundle of £50s being held out to him by Geoffrey. “What this?”

Geoffrey put it in his hand and let go. “It for you my friend, you been so much help and this you will need more then I.”

“I can't take-”

“Do you need me to tell you why?” Geoffrey cut him off.

The tall security guard sighed. “I know... You never take no for an answer.”

“That my boy.” The elderly man pat him on the arm. “Let get to work shall we?”

“Sure.”

Wayne finished up with his task and left the shop soon afterwards for the very last time, he left his guy with Geoffrey to take back to their home outside the city in the countryside. Wayne walking past the trucks into the city centre with people still busy with shopping, eating at cafés and restaurants to just young children to teenagers hanging out or even going to the movies.

He never had much of that being in his own world half the time thinking about fantasies, science fiction and cartoons he loved to watch. The one thing he had on him at the time was his notepad and pencils, wanting to find a nice quite place in the city noise to draw. Wayne entered the one of many large parks in the city scattered around, finding a place by the trees and lake he sat down to happy draw what was on his mind.

But what came to mind was the strange glowing changing letters, he drew out the scroll capsule casing with the unknown characters coming out of from both ends turning into the words he saw with the pair of pegasi holding the shield up almost coming off the gold capsule. “I wonder what that was all about.” He muttered looking at the sketch he made.

“I am sure that capsule was always empty, so how did it open up on it own and that scroll pop out it as grandpa told me...” Wayne tapping the edge of the pencil against his lip trying to figure it out. “I was only eight when I open it, I must of mistook what I saw inside at the time as nothing.” Wayne sighed sitting back against the tree closing his eyes. “That jerk doesn't stop... I hate to think what I would be like if I had all the money in the world like that greedy no good for nothing Mr Ace has...”

Through out the rest of the day he relaxed by the lake side enjoying the calm and quiet day out in the park. The sound of birds tweeting to each other, the cool wind made him feel happy for buying the house in the middle of the countryside for him and his grandpa.

Opening his eyes Wayne watched the sky change colour as the sun sets, the shimmering light from what it look like it below the clouds with the mix of colour of reddish orange, orange to purple and blue sky through the tall buildings gave it a between view to be seen through the rays of the sun. “Always love sunsets no matter where I am.”

Wayne got up dusting himself off unaware of the changes that started on his body, the face changing shape and size with his ears growing in size and moving up his head with yellow fur growing over it and all over his body, completely unaware of it Wayne turn to the sunset again with a smile on his now snout that had formed.

The teeth also changed completely as his body started to change shape and form, the brown jacket and white vest tenting and tearing with wings breaking through as well his arms, he was tiptoeing slipping right out of his trainers and socks the heels raising up into the jeans and the legs reforming, the backs of the jeans starting to tear as well, the changes all over his mostly furry body was happening at once.

His two fingers fused together and the remaining digits melded into what was left of his hands leaving yellow coated fur hooves. The arms reformed and now most of his clothes was ripping apart, this is when his finally noticed with his now larger eyes trailed to his now hind leg seeing the jeans rip completely away on his left side.

Wayne noticing with shock the mixed yellow and black fur that shown as the jeans leg fall to the ground as he lifted his now hind leg up, removing his hoof out of the remains of his jeans. The lightning bolts a set of three seem to be part of his fur on the hind leg. Wayne grit his teeth trying to understand what was going on or how it went unnoticed without a single hint of pain to it.

The changes finalize with his hair turn orange, cream and black mane with an tail that was black and cream too, he found himself with torn remains scattered around and on him, his body slightly shorter then before but completely transformed. Scraps of clothing on a body he soon realised was a Pegasus not only a horse like creature with hooves, he balanced on the hind legs with his wings helping to counter balance this as Wayne took in what he was.

Before he could figure out how or why this happened and even close to panic, something he didn't expect to happen, happened. His ears flicked to the sound of a click turning around the now turned electric yellow pegasi saw a police officer firing his taser right at him!

“Oh shit!”
