Book 2: Conflict Arises

Piercing and Golden went to the throne room. They searched for Sunset and Twilight but they couldn’t be found. Golden sat on Sunset’s throne in defeat.

“Okay I give where are they?” Golden asked still looking around from where he sat.

Piercing was starting to get annoyed. “I don’t know but we better find them soon it’s our job to watch them and so far we’re failing at it.”

“True…”

Unaware that both Sunset and Twilight arrived back at the castle with some Ice Cream Sundaes. The girls watched both Golden and Piercing searching and practically turn the castle upside down. Twilight sighed and put them both in a magic bubble and levitated them to her.

“Oh.” Is all Piercing said, “Well we found them.”

“Yes you did found us good work you two and for that you can help us take these bags to the kitchen.” Sunset said dropping the bags on their backs.

“Since went did we become slaves here?” Piercing asked putting the bags on the dining table.

“I Thought Spike was the slave.” Golden suggested watching the young drake scrub the floors of the castle.

Spike didn’t pay attention to them at all he was lost in his own world within his mind. Twilight however wasn’t pleased by hearing that. “Spike’s not a slave he’s my number one assistant.”

“Oh Princess Twilight this letter came in for you.” Piercing tossed the letter to Twilight who caught it with her magic and began to read it over.

“Princess Celestia requests us to go to the Griffon Kingdom? Sunset the letter says that you can read the rest.” Twilight levitated the letter to Sunset who read her part of it.

“Piercing and Golden I need to you be guarding us 34/7 for this journey I don’t know what the Griffon King wants but I can tell it’s something very serious.” Twilight ordered.

Piercing and Golden summoned their Combat Armor and prepared for the road the lies ahead, sharpening their weapons and adding some extra items to give them an boost to eliminate a threat more quickly. Sunset put the letter on the table and spoke shortly after. “Twilight do you remember what happened to Discord?”

Twilight nodded, “Yes he was destroyed by Celestia’s magic blast not too long ago.”

Sunset put her hoof to her chin. “She’s stating to us that Discord survived and the blast directly hit the griffon kingdom’s outer wall. Discord managed to mind control the Griffon king to go to war with Equestria.” Piercing and Golden came out of the other room battle ready after hearing this.

Twilight gasped at what Sunset said. “How is that possible?” She asked.

“I don’t know but if we don’t act now there won’t be another opportunity like this.” Sunset grabbed Twilight and rushed her to their room to get ready.

Piercing just realized when the girls left that Flash Sentry’s body was still in the kitchen. They went over to the corpse the picked him up using their magic equally. They went outside and created a large hole and dumped the body inside then sealing it afterwards.

“You want to say some words?” Golden asked.

“No, I think he this was going to happen.” Piercing said leaving the burial site. Twilight and Sunset got out the castle with their saddle bags full of various items ranging from bits to a map for traveling.

Spike ran out of the castle as they began to walk. “Can I come with you Twilight you never know when you’ll need your ‘Number 1’ assistant?”

Twilight looked back at the drake then back to Sunset and their guards. “I don’t think it’s safe for you to come with us Spike, you’re better off here.” She concluded.

Spike hanged low in sadness and went back into the castle. As they were walking Sunset looked over to Twilight. “You know we could’ve brought him along.” She said.

Twilight waved it off. “Yes I know, but it seems that this is too dangerous to something for Spike to get involved in and I don’t know what I would do to myself if something horrible were to happen.”

“He’s not a baby dragon anymore Twi.”

Sunset had a point he was now up to her height and his voice has gotten deeper, but still she left him behind and they can’t turn back now.

Twilight, Sunset, Piercing and Golden arrived at the Ponyville Train Station, as they got their tickets the rest of the Mane 6 arrived as well.

Piercing and Golden got into defensive stance in front of the two Princesses blocking any contact from them to any of their friends.

“Princess give us the word and we’ll deal with them.” Golden said bow drawn ready to fire.

Twilight rolled her eyes and put her hoof out in front of both Piercing and Golden so they will lower their weapons. “These are my friends and also the rest of the Element Bearers.” Twilight stated standing next to them.

“So what are you guys doing here?” Twilight asked as Rarity grabbed a letter out of her saddle bag.

“Well Darling, we’re coming with you on your journey to the Griffon Kingdom!”

Twilight’s jaw hung low as she saw nods from the rest of them.

“And plus we will never leave our Friend behind.” Rainbow Dash said doing a flip in the air.

“Rarity looked around Twilight and noticed that Flash Sentry wasn’t with her or Sunset. “Where’s Flash Sentry Twilight?”

Twilight looked away and huddled against Sunset who comfort her by padding her back. Piercing stepped in front and explain his current situation.

“Flash Sentry is not with us anymore.” He said calmly.

Rarity looked confused, but Apple spoke next. “What do you mean ‘not with us anymore’?”

Piercing sighed, “He’s dead.”

Silence, complete and total silence came from that train station from that group of ponies. Words weren’t spoke at all for the next minutes until the train arrived. The rest of the Mane 6 were in shock of how he said it so calm and have no sympathetic emotion to it.

“I can’t believe it…” Fluttershy said tears now forming from her eye.

“Well I can, maybe if he wasn’t so persistent with Twilight and all maybe he be still alive, I mean like come on he deserved it to an extent but seriously-“ Piercing put Pinkie to sleep with one of his darts to her neck.

“Shut the buck up already!!!” He barked while the Pink Pony was out cold. The Rest of the Mane 6, Sunset, Piercing, and Golden were on their way to the Griffon Kingdom unaware of the true dangers that they will face along their path.
