Your Fluttering Heart

This morning you spring out of bed. Today isn't just any day, today you have a date. You've never been this excited for a date before, you don't know why your this excited but you don't spend time to think about it either. You have everything planned out. Yesterday you had no idea what the two of you would do. But that changed on your walk home. You set out to town skipping breakfast in your excitement. You stop by Sugar Cube Corner and pick up a box of chocolate. You check off item one on your mental checklist. Then you walk over to a pony selling flowers from a cart. You buy a bouquet of assorted flowers, two down two to go you tell yourself. You then walk to the market and buy stuff for a romantic picnic.

"One last thing," you tell yourself "now I wonder where Rainbow Dash is?"

"Did I here somepony call me?" Dash asks looking down from a cloud.

"Yes, I was wondering if I could ask you for a favor." you ask the overhead pegasus.

"What do you want me to do?" asks with an eyebrow raised in interest.
You explain to Dash your date with Fluttershy and what you have planned.

"Ewk," she says pointing to her open mouth makinging a gagging sound, "that's so mushy, but I think that she would like that, I'll do it."

"Thank you, I owe you one." you tell her happily

"Don't worry about it, it's no problem." she tells you as she flies away.

You look at the town clock, "It's already 11:00, I'm going to be late" you say as you start a brisk walk to FluttFluttershy's house. Once you get to your house you rush in and grab Sheldon hoping he can become friends with Angel. Once you've reached Fluttershy's house you stand outside the door and take a second to catch your breath before knocking.

"You made it, and you brought Sheldon, I'm sure he and Angel will hit it off." Fluttershy says answering the door.

"I hope they do. Oh I got you these." you say holding up the flowers and chocolate

"O my, these are lovely" she says as she grabs the end of the bouquet with her mouth and putting the chocolate on her back.

"I'm glad that you like them"
She smiles at you still holding the flowers in her teeth.

She turns and signs you in. You follow and she tilts her head toward the couch signalling you to sit. As you sit down she puts up her box of chocolate and puts the flowers in a vase. She comes back and looks over at Sheldon and Angel playing in the floor.

"They seem to like each other." she says now looking at you smiling.

"Yeah it looks like they do, I'm surprised, Sheldon is usually shy around strangers." you say smiling back.

"Angel usually isn't friendly at first either." she tells you as she sits beside you on her couch.

The two of you start to talk about your pets and how your mornings have been. You try to avoid your conversation with Rainbow Dash. Then your stomach growls and your cheeks blush with embarrassment.

"I'm hungry too." Fluttershy says giggling a bit.

"I brought a picnic basket if you would like to go outside and eat." you say lifting your basket up

"Okay, would you like me to make some tea?" she asks

"I would love some if it's okay with you." you tell her smiling

Once the tea is done you two go to Fluttershy's backyard. You two continue your conversation. Sometime goes by and you check the time.

"It's 4:30, Rainbow should be here any minute now." you tell your self.
Then you see it coming over the tree line in the distance. You point and tell Fluttershy to look. Then in the sky the swarm of migratory butterflies spread out in the sunlight.

"Oh my, it-it's just beautiful." Fluttershy says with her hooves over her heart

"I noticed your cutie mark and I knew that the butterflies where flying over Everfree Forest, so I asked for a favor and got Rainbow to herd them where you could see them." you tell her amazed at how happy she is.

"That's just amazing. That's the most thoughtful thing anypony has ever done for me." she says as she starts to tear up. The next thing you know the most beautiful, adorable pony is wrapped around you as she thanks you. You hug her back and notice how soft her mane is, how amazing she smells, and how she makes you feel calm and the rest of the world around you disappears until there's nothing in the world except the two of you. Then you are pushed further into bliss as you feel her kiss you.

Just she when you wish that this moment could last forever she pushes away from you.

"Oh, I'm sorry, I-I don't know what came over me it's just tha-" you interrupt her with another hug feeling her unnecessary embarrassment.

"It's okay," you reassure her, "I liked it when you hugged me."

"Wa-was the kiss to much then." she says hiding in her mane.

You lift her head "No, that was even better." you tell her looking into her eyes smiling.

"I liked it too." she says grabbing you in another hug and another kiss.

The two of you lay on the picnic blanket hugging each other until night fall. You both make plans to see each other tomorrow after Fluttershy goes to the spa with Rarity. As you say your sorrowful goodbyes.

As you walk up to your front door with Sheldon asleep on your back, you hear Rainbow Dash's voice

"I take it that she liked the butterflies seeing how it's late and all." she says.

"She loved it, thank you." you tell her enthusiastically

"I hope it works out between the two of you." she says zooming off

"I do too." you tell yourself walking through the door.
