"What?! Even you TWILIGHT?

"Yes, brother. I do believe, then you are in the wrong."

Shining Armor couldn't believe it. His Twily, his precious little sister was against him. Why? Why couldn't she see the reason of his actions?
"Twily, I love you more than anything, but can ivknow why you are so against this decision?"
"Because it is totally unnecessary, really I thought than you were better than that... Brother."
And now she was judging him! His sister, the being that he protected his whole life was now judging HIM.

"Now listen to me Twily.I don't want to go at war against the Caribou Kingdom for pleasure, but those fucking bastards have already made offensive move toward my country!"

"Your former country. You're forgetting that since the divorce, you are only the captain of the guard anew. Nothing more brother."
Now Shining Armor was fuming. Not only his sis was judging him, but dared to accuse him of being the cause of the divorce.

It's his former spouse who fucked with another pony, not him. It's her who divorced, shunning him from his title of Prince.

What she has done was approved by the majority of the nobles of Equestria, many of them thought than having “commoner prince” was only a bad joke.

The only two who seemed to disapprove it was Celestia herself, and against all odd Blueblood.
The Princess because of this shameful act, an act against a war hero. And Blueblood because he hated cadence since his colthood (and had some sympathy for Shining).
Princess Luna didn't exclaim her opinion.
But Celestia because of the nobles and the fact than Cadence was her niece must sided with her, something than Shining understood completely. But hearing this from his LSBFF was making him fucking furious.

Twilight! The caribou territory is in the north, so is the crystal empire. There are only two other countries between them. They are growing stronger, we must act now or we might suffer the consequence."

Shining winced, of course she was angry about that.
"Twily... I don't like the fact that you are dating Discord."
"Jealous of your own sister who has a better sentimental life than you!"

"What?! But no. But he already betrayed us in time. And I can't trust him."
"Is it because he's from another species!?"Shouted twilight.

"NO. I totally approve of interspecies relationships. Take Spike and Rarity, I approve of them because they love each other."

"Yeah, you showed it well at your wedding."

That's it, the nerves brokes.
"For the last time Twilight I was brainwashed by a Queeeeeen! I would have never signed you away, I wasn't myself!"

"Yet me, I'm pretty fine and I'm doing it."

The world seemed to stop.
"Wh-What?!"
"You've heard me. Discord proposed to me last week and I said yes. So for now goodbye "ex-BBBFF”."

When she got to the door, she cast one last glance at him.

"They were right.You aren't worthy to rule.It's a good thing that they dethroned you."

Of those hurtful words she left.

Shining didn't know how long he stayed here without moving, ten minutes? One hour? He didn't care, his world had just broken.

"Shining.Shining."

Even without a glance he could easily recognise his second in command: Flash Sentry.
As a young Pegasus at cadet school Flash was bullied by everyone, from instructors to other guards. But Shining saw potential in him and stood by his side through it.
When shining became an officer Flash stayed very loyal to him and became his right hoof.The two have been friend for 10 years now and were counting on staying it.

"Shining it's horrible, look at this!"

In a very slow motion Shining took the paper from his Pegasus friend hoof and read it.

"Where did you find it?"

"At the black market.But I hadn't found who created this offer:"

The unicorn stayed quiet for some seconds before answering:

"Not now."

"Not now? How that?"

"I can't act now. They are to many hoofs pointed toward me."

He got to the windows. Taking a full breath of the midday air.

"I will exil myself."

Sentry looked at him with wide eyed.

"They don't believe me, right now. I will have to wait a little, but soon, very soon I will take back what is rightfully mine and protect The Ponykind. But for now I will disappear."

He turned on himself and looked straight at his friend.

"Are you with me?"

Flash's lips cracked a smile as he wrapped his best friend in a hug.

"To the death with you."

TWO YEARS LATER.

Qintha beach - Crystal Empire sea territory.

At 50 meters of the beach.

Soon, they will land.The coast was only from one or two minutes away from their boats.
He gave a glance behind him. Apart from his own ship there were only two others, one like his own with twenty crystal ponies, and another with only ten soldiers, but carrying the equipment, like food and weapons, for now it wasn't useful but soon, it will be their life assurance. Very soon.

Fifty-one, they were fifty one. They gave up on everything for him.
Some left their parents, others their business, others their friends and comrades. Everyone abandoned something, but all were linked by one thing: Their loyalty to their only true ruler; HIM.
A movement, before him made him lower his gaze, meeting another one.

Cobalt star.

A young colt, only 17.He begged for days to participate in this journey. He took him only because he needed soldiers willing to fight in his name.
The colt gave him a gaze full of pride, he was here to fight and he was ready.
He gave him a smile before looking back at the beach, on it others crystals ponies were watching they fleet coming right at them.

"Hmm, it looks like there is a welcome committee only for us"A little thought toward one of his sister friend, a cheerful pink earth pony who could have set up a “Happy Coup d'état to you party” came up. It would have been funny.

Only a few second later they reached it, their homeland.
After a quick set of motions the soldiers got out of their ships before dragging it safely on the beach.
Two soldiers began to help their leader to get down, but he dismissed them.He was only 27, he could do it himself.
The stallion in charge jumped from this poor boat and went to the beach. While his followers were busy taking their equipment from the ships, he made his way to meet those civilians waiting on the beach and seemed to not believe the moment they are witnessing; the comeback of their former co-ruler.

When there was only a short distance was left, he took a long glance behind him, where the soldiers stayed he remembered a beach vacation of the time where Twilight who was only a little filly.Playing in the sand with her BBBFF. It was only the siblings and their parents, a time when the things were a lot easier.
He finished reminiscing and close the distance with what appeared stallion followed by at least a dozen of ponies.

“Hi”
“...”
“...”
“Heuu. Good afternoon, sir, my wife has... has the best soup around the area, if you could come into my home to rest while waiting for the remaining of your troops, it would be the greatest of honors.”

The Leader stays quiet for a few second... It was true that his intel told him than more than the half of the cristal population weren't for the actual government, but he didn't think than his former subject would greet him with open hoof.That or maybe they feared that he came here to burn down their house.
After what seemed to be a decade for the civilian he got his answers.

“My army you've got it right before your eyes.”

A quick glance toward the line of soldier waiting at the shore confirmed his saying.

“What?! You're only that much to go against those fools on our throne?”

A quick nod was his only answers.

“Take me.”

A stallion came to the side of the two interlocutors.

“I've got a spear at home, just let me get it.”

"Me too."

Another one.

"And me."

"Don't forget me."

The sudden number of volunteers made the leader crack a smile.
But he saw the fear on theirs comrades face.

"Don't you worry my people, I will get my throne back and bring prosperity to our great nation."

At this he made a quick sign toward his soldiers.
At their leader sign, the warriors couldn't help but smile.Their time has come.
Three of them took flags from the ships and planted them on the sand.
The wind showed their design. A star inside a shield with three stars on. The flag background was pure white.The ensemblel representing their sovereign cutie mark.

At this the soldiers began to shout:"LONG LIVE TO SHINING ARMOR! ALL HAIL TO SHINING ARMOR!"

They were at home.
