Some of the things said can be confusing but that because they are some elements of the past and should be seen in a few chapters(even maybe the next one).So for now we have Rarity sent by Celestia to began a diplomacy act with the Caribous.

Rivers Strongclaws In the Chimera Principality. Near the Carribou Kingdom frontier.

About the same time after the coming back of Shining Armor.

"Mrs. Rarity we should be at the frontier soon."

"Oh, thanks.Any news from Equestria?"

"No, ma’am."

"Very well . You’re dismissed."

At those words the unicorn stallion, a sergeant of the Solar guards gave her a quick salute before trotting away.
The element of generosity stayed at the head of the boat gave by Celestia .

The birth of dawn.

It wasn’t a gigantic Ship but with a length of twenty meter it was sufficient for her and the around twenty soldiers to be comfortable enough for this travel.

They had quit Equestria near the end of the river, one of the particularities of this river was then it passed thought Equestria from the east to the south of the Chimera principality then to the south of their destination: the Caribou Kingdom.
After than the principality allied themselves with the Caribou, Celestia ordered to send them a diplomatic convoy to rearrange the politics between the two nations.

So after fifteen day of travels, the two diplomats, the one element of harmony and the twenty-seven solars guards were about to arrive at their destination.

It has been a boring and long travel to Rarity.Even if she liked calm thought than fifteen days with nothing to do were too much.
When the nobles of the court asked than an element of harmony was sent in the convoy to show the seriousness of Equistria Rarity volunteered herself.
After all, she was the only one enough level headed for this mission.

Twilight was unable to do such a diplomatic mission in her state, what happened two years ago still greatly affected her. Cadence was the same.
Fluttershy… Really?
Rainbow Dash would probably start a war.
Pinkie Pie an Applejack were out of the question too. Pinkie wouldn't understand anything of what going on. And applejack, well... She was a farmer.

Not that farming wasn't noble. On the contrary, it is probably the noblest work of all.
But farmer wasn't well trained in diplomacy between kingdoms.
And unlike every other elements. Rarity has still some noble blood running in her veins. Her grandmother on her mother's side was the daughter of an earl. It was maybe a small nobility but still.
And she had an advantage, with her job as Fashionista she has met many nobles in canterlot. That and her education as she was raised to be the most lady like possible.

So it lets only her like choice so...If it's for the greater good.

But she would have liked that her departure was a little happier too. She and Spike have entered into an argument a few days before and even if it has cool down she felt that the ice hasn’t melted in totality.
That's why she wanted to take an entire month off after that.
To spend time with her spikey wikey and bring back their couple as a solid one.

"Miss!" Another guard called her." We’re at the frontier."

The majestic unicorn turned her head around and saw right before her,still hidden by a weak mist the frontier of the Kingdom.

It took only a few minutes to go at the frontier.
This frontier was a bridge-dam and a small amount of Caribou soldier on watch saw them coming.
She heard one of them shouting something she didn’t understand before gaining his post back.
While their boat stopped, she saw another native coming at the top of their bridge. He waved at them before asking:

"Are you the Equestrian convoys send by the Princess Celestia?"

Rarity stood still for a few second. Before she began hearing the heavy hoofsteps of the guards in armor catching up with her at the head of the boat.
With them behind her courage began to grow and responded:

"Yes, we are the convoy send by the Alicorn of the Sun Princess Celestia. We came here to discuss political arrangements with your leader and your country."

The Caribou stood still, watching them for at least twenty seconds before a wide grin appeared on his face and answering:

"Then I hope that you will appreciate the welcoming we prepared just for you."

After that it got really fast.

Rarity began to feel a sting on her left cheek.
Then a liquid going down from this same cheeks.
A sound. A deaf sound came from behind her.
On the six guards who were waiting beside her five were transected by arrows.
The last one has one too, but luckily stuck in her armor.
It didn’t take long for the two ponies to comprehend what was happening.

"Take cover!!!"

The guardpony took Rarity with her and began to run alongside her.
From everywhere arrows were coming to them. The generosity incarnate saw from side to side pony getting killed by those projectiles. But some of them began to counterattack and cries began to come from the caribou side.

The earth guard pony who was watching over her began to shout: "Than somepony begins to make this boat turn back."
At those words another pony, a stallion unicorn this time came at them, a crossbow and a shield held by magic:

"We can’t use the wheel, it doesn’t turn anymore. It has been sabotaged."

"What!!!" Was the answer from the earth pony.

Just after that three arrows transected her from her back.
"Aaaaaaaaaaah."

The unicorn puts his shield behind her and holds her in his hooves.
"Ta... Takes her back to Canterlot…"She said, pointing to Rarity. "She must survive or all is lost." She then put her hoof on Rarity’s.

"Harmo… Harmony will prevail… "Her last vision in this world was the one of the only unicorn in the elements of harmony.

This same element who couldn’t comprehend the situation.
What was supposed to be a pacific mission turned into a slaughter.
How did it degenerate to this point?
It is only because of the guard that she came back to her.

"Miss! We must get out of this trap or we’re done."

The female unicorn took a last look to the deceased earth pony before nodding quietly to the soldier.

"Good, keep following me and don’t go farther than one foot away from me. Let's go."

The escape from the boat was horrible. During the race they keep seeing their compatriot dies right before their eyes. Even if the ponies counterattack was very effective, they were still outnumbered by something like 1-5.
Their only hopes of survival were to flee.
By luck they got some others survivors during the escape.
Now a group of six ponies was running on the shore with only one mission: Protect the element of generosity at all cost.

It looked like they ran for hours while that it was only ten minutes.
The group has been able to flee from the The birth of dawn but it didn't look like they were going very far.
At their head was the unicorn soldier from earlier. He let his shield near the boat since it was holding him down. He ordered at the remaining guard to always form a circle around the element of harmony. If she were to die, one of Equestria greatest symbol would too.
The unicorn pointed toward a hill to the rest of the group.

"If we manage through it, we can go back to another part from the Strongclaws. Then find a boat and use our weapons to go back home. Any objection?"

"No sir!"Replied a soldier.

"Me, I don't have any objections to this plan, but how will you make it work?"

The ponies citizens stood still to this unknown voice.
Then suddenly two arrows came straight to Rarity. One got throughout her back while the other one found her left hind leg.
She falls on the ground. Her vision and hearing blurring and buzzing. She saw Caribous coming toward her guards. Then puts her head a little on the left only for her to see a black Caribou hoof just a foot away from her.
Her gaze mat the hoof proprietor. And before she could register what was happening; got hit by it. Blackning the world.
"It's her. Take the others too."

Crystal Palace-Crystal Empire.

Twelve hours after Shining arrival.

Inside the Cristal palace, everything was calm. After all it was ten in the night. The dinner has already been finished since two hours. The maids were busy to keep this place the cleanest possible, guards were… guarding? Making sure their lord would not be threatened.
So when a messenger came storming throughout the entire doors and halls,it wasn’t planned.

"My princess, my prince!"

The soldier got before his sovereigns bedroom doors and knocked until it opened.
"My pr…" No more word was coming through his mouth as a blade rested on his jugular.

"You, trash of plebian. You dare to disturb me and my princess. For your life I’m hoping that what you have to say is very important."

The door opened a little more, showing a tall unicorn, he has a clear red coat and a dark yellow mane. And coming from behind was another unicorn. Her coat was grey with a mane of two different colors, green and blue.

"My-my lord. We got news from the east of the country. Near the Qintha beach.He…"

"He what?!"

"He came back. "At this moment the messenger was sure to get killed at any moment.

"Who came back?"

"Sh-Shining Armor."

No more sound. For a few moments, silence was king… For a few moments.

"What?"The royal throw the messenger to the floor.

"Shining Armor is back in the cristal empire and is coming toward us. Our information says he has somewhat between 200 to 300 soldiers with him."

The couple stayed still for a few second before looking at each other and smiled tenderly.

"Finally, I wanted to kill him for so long."
