CHAPTER ONE

“Finally! School’s over,” Sweetie Sighed in relief, slinging her backpack over her shoulder as she strolled down the hallway, dodging other students running by about to knock her over.

The last few school days had been a bit more stressful than she had hoped for. Ever since Rarity had started skipping school, everyone went to Sweetie for an inside scoop. But she didn’t have much to share, Rarity rarely left her room when Sweetie was in home, and the only signs she did leave the room was when the kitchen lost another five tubs of ice cream.

Rarity’s group of friends had been especially nosy as well. Fluttershy had been an absolute wreck, assuming Rarity had some sort of disease. Applejack was acting all suspicious, even tried following her and the crusaders to Sweetie’s once to see what they had been hiding.

Thankfully, Opalescence took care of that quite quickly and quite violently.

Rainbow Dash was the worst though! She had done everything from interrogating Sweetie Belle with Pinkie Pie playing ‘good cop’, to being all Sherlock Holmes and barging into her house searching for Rarity! Opalescence, once again, saved the day.

Pinkie Pie was a bit better though, assuming Rarity just was sick and would keep sending balloons, cards, and sweets to help her feel better! Sweetie didn’t know if it worked much, all she knew was getting those sweets meant the fridge would be less empty that night.

And Sunset just assumed she was sick, but still as concerned as everyone else. In fact, she was most level headed about it, the only one actually trying to calm everyone down about the issue.

Sweetie looked around her as she got to her front door. No sign of Rainbow Dash, or Applejack, or Pinkie Pie. Sighing in relief, she walked inside feeling a bit better her big sister’s stupid friends or admirers weren’t on her tail.

“Rarity I’m home!” She called out, throwing her bag on the couch.

“Hey Sweetie Belle.”

Her eyes went wide. That was the first thing Rarity had said to her in almost two weeks! She rushed in direction of the voice, finding her big sister in the kitchen.

“Rarity?! What’re you doing out of your-” She stopped in her tracks, gasping loudly.

“Oh my god, Rarity! You’re huge!”

-

Rarity groaned softly to herself as she sat at the dinner table for breakfast, slouching in her seat. She didn’t have a fun night, with Sweetie treating her like a complete child, acting so over dramatic about her weight gain. But she meant well. Kind of reminded her of herself at times.

“Morning Rare’!”

Sweetie walked over, carrying a plate of burnt toast and eggs, putting it down in front of her bigger sister.

“Eat up!”

Rarity poked at the toast with her fork, almost throwing her plate in the sink seeing the inside of the toast crumble and blacken like wood in a fireplace.

“Do you think your friends will notice your weight gain?” Sweetie asked as she took the plate away and dumped out the food.

Rarity pouted, raising a brow at her. “What do you think?”

That was a definite yes. Rarity had gained maybe, eighty- a hundred pounds during her week long binge. Her curvy hourglass figure was now just a ball. Her gut was the size of a yoga ball, drooping over her waist line hiding her skirt and thunder thighs almost completely. Her arms were almost as fat as her legs, but just as soft, especially her sausage fingers. Her face had rounded out as well, with her plumper lips and extra chin.

Her shirt barely covered her gut, she was getting a terrible wedgie from her skirt, and her shoes squeezed her fat little feet so tightly they began to feel numb. Maybe she should have went out for bigger clothes before going to school today.

“Let’s get going!” Sweetie grinned, grabbing her backpack and ran towards the door.

Rarity sighed, slinging her bag over her shoulder, slowly waddling after her.

-

“What is Rarity hiding?!”

Rainbow Dash roared, rage consuming her thoughts as she bounced her soccer ball on her head. She let it fall to the ground, before stomping it flat.

“Rainbow Dash calm down! Rarity’s probably just sick, and doesn’t want to get us sick too,” Sunset said.

“But what if she’s dying?” Fluttershy squeaked.

“Or dead!” Pinkie exclaimed, a bit too enthusiastically.

Pinkie’s enthusiasm about the statement, caused Flutters to break down in tears, sobbing loudly.

Applejack groaned, rubbing her forehead, “You had to get the waterworks going, didn’t ya Pinkie?”

Pinkie frowned, “I didn’t mean to!”

Sunset sighed, “Anyways, I’m sure she’s fine,” She smiled gently at Fluttershy, putting a hand on her shoulder.

“Indeed I am darling.”

All five girls looked up, eyes wide.

“Rarity!” Fluttershy grinned, running over to her friend and tackled her to the ground, hugging her tight. “Oh thank god, I thought you were dying,”

Rarity tried to hide her groan in pain, patting the thinner girl’s back gently.

“Well you don’t have to worry about that anymore,” She smiled, “Now can I please get up?”

“Oh, sorry,” She blushed, holding out her hand to her as she stood.

The plump teen grabbed her hand, attempting to pull herself up, but only managed to pull Fluttershy back down.

“You look different, did you gain weight?” Pinkie asked sweetly, looking over the two teens laying on the grass.

Rarity laughed nervously. “Maybe a little.”

Applejack crossed her arms smirking, as she pulled the two girls off of their butts and onto their feet. “Obviously alot.”

Rainbow Dash, bit her lip, trying to contain her giggles before bursting into laughter. “Shit man, you’re such a fatass!” She snickered, putting her hands over her abdomen. “Oh god, it’s so funny it hurts!” She wheezed out.

“Rainbow Dash!” Sunset smacked the back of her head, “Don’t be rude!” She scolded, her expression softening as she turned back to Rarity. “I’m so sorry about that Rare’,”

Rarity sniffled, holding back tears, “It’s fine darling, believe me,” She forced a smile.

“Ah, don’t be a teary eyed, Rarity! Rainbow Dash is just a horrible person with no heart, just ignore her,” Pinkie gave her a hug.

Rainbow scowled, “Hey!  That’s not true,”

Fluttershy bit her lip, “It kind of is…”

The bell rang loudly, and the group started to head into the building.

-

First class Rarity had was History.

She waddled in, head hanging low as she could feel everyone stares burning her skin. She got to her desk, trying to wriggle her way into the seat. She managed, but not without it loudly groaning under her weight, making Rarity turn red as an apple.

Everyone turned to her, silence filling the room. It was interrupted by a long creak.

Not long after the creak stopped, the chair broke underneath her.

The room broke into laughter, while Rarity broke into tears.

“The Great and Powerful Trixie has a question to ask you, Rarity Belle!” The magician announced, being over dramatic.

Trixie approached her slowly, holding out her hand, “Are you alright?” She frowned.

Rarity shook her head, taking her hand, but Trixie wasn’t strong enough and got pulled onto the fashionista.

-

Next was Science.

Thankfully the stools held up better, but it didn’t help she was stuck sitting between Blueblood and Pinkie Pie.

Blueblood kept looking at her, making disgusted faces towards her and occasionally talking about her to the boys next to him.

Someone during the middle of class farted, and Blueblood was quick to blame Rarity.

“Rarity, we’re supposed to discuss the different types of gas, not give the class an example of them,” He smirked.

Pinkie scowled, cracking her knuckles as she walked up to Blueblood, “Do you even know what kind of gas it was?”

His face turned white as a sheet. “H-Hydrogen?”

“Methane you douche!” Pinkie yelled her battle cry, before tackling the pretty boy to the ground.

Rarity covered her face, not wanting to watch the destruction of Blueblood’s face or how scary Pinkie’s angry face was.

-

And finally, PE.

Rarity stood there in her track outfit, standing as tall as she could but still was sweating under the bright lights above. Rainbow Dash stood next to her, certainly looking a lot more confident.

“Don’t worry Rarity, I’m sure you’ll lose a little weight during this,” She smirked, nudging Rarity’s gut with her elbow.

“Shut up Rainbow Dash,” She hissed, stomping on her foot.

Soon, they were all lined up, ready to run the track.

The whistle squealed, and they were off!

All except for Rarity, jogging slowly behind all the others, her body bouncing and jiggling with every step she took. By the time all the others had finished the race, she wasn’t even at the halfway mark yet.

Everyone groaned, not too happy they’d have to wait for her to cross the finish line.

“This’ll take years! An actually blimp could go faster!” Rainbow whined, thinking Rarity couldn’t hear her from so far away.

Oh but Rarity did, and it was hard to get her friend’s harsh words out her head as she jogged over.

-

Rarity sighed softly, sitting a bit farther than normal from the others, poking her meatloaf at the other end of the table.

“Can you believe her? She took two hours to jog, and we couldn’t even go to our other classes!” Rainbow scowled, “Bitchy blimp made us late! Now I got two detentions, thanks to Rarity!”

“She did cause a lot of trouble between be and Blueblood,” Pinkie murmured, wiping the blood from pretty boy’s stupid face off of her hands.

“Look, obviously Rarity’s weight gain has been causing trouble,” Applejack said, “Maybe we oughta help her lose it, get back to her old figure! Then everything will get back to normal and we can forget that this ever happened,”

Fluttershy nodded, “I agree with Applejack, I can help her with dieting!”

“I can help her at the gym!” Rainbow grinned.

“Some hard work around the farm should slim her down,” Applejack smiled.

“I can help her binge on sweets when she gets ‘a day off’ from all that stuff!” Pinkie squealed in delight. They all looked at her, scowling, while she just sat there confused. “What?”

Sunset shook her head, “Anyways, in no time, we’ll get our old Rarity back!” She smiled.

Rarity felt a sharp pain in her chest listening to them talk, and she began to stuff the meatloaf down her throat.

-

Vinyl bopped her head to the beat of the song running through her headphones, walking in time as she grabbed her lunch, narrowly dodging Snips and Snails roughhousing next to her in line. As she payed for her meal, she had a look around for a seat.

However, what caught her eye wasn’t an open spot, but the obese girl who had saved the school twice now, but at smaller sizes before.

‘What was her name again? Rare? Radiance?’ She thought in her head.

Vinyl snapped her fingers, finally remembering, ‘Oh right - Rarity! Guess I should see what’s goin’ on.”

As she walked towards her, she could better hear her friends talking. She scowled in distaste. Really? The saviors of the school were so pretentious, they couldn’t just accepts their friend gained so much weight? How distasteful.

‘Well no wonder she’s so upset then! Her friends are assholes!’ The DJ thought, getting closer and closer.

She said down across from Rarity, who was too busy eating to notice, until she felt a slender finger press into her shoulder. She looked up, teary red eyes meeting a pair of magenta shades.

Now she wasn’t too good with words, but she knew she had to say something to cheer her up, even if only a little. Vinyl didn’t think and just held out a small little bag of chips.

“Want some chips?”

Rarity blinked, looking from the bag, to her glasses, then back to the back, before taking it gently.

“Thanks.”

“No problem,” Vinyl smirked, her heart thumping loudly as she got a smile in return.
