Bizzaro Tales: The Strange Case Of Ms. Lulamoon
The New And Improved Trixie
You enter a dark mansion. Around you, there are many unusual paintings along the entry path. At the end of it, there is a door. You open it slowly. Inside, you find a cyan stallion wearing a top hat and black suit. His head is currently in a book. After a few seconds, he has finally noticed you and begins to talk.
"You shouldn't change yourself for the sake of others. The only thing a stallion or mare should be is themselves. There are ponies in this world that do otherwise. A rather extreme example is the case of Ms. Lulamoon. Join me as we take a look at a Bizarro Tale."
It was a dark and stormy night. Manehatten was sleeping like a newborn foal. But, not all of it was asleep. In the city streets, a mare dashed as fast as a lightning bolt. She traversed through the corners she went once before. She ran and ran until she reached the very same store where her journey began. Hesitantly, she entered. The room was pitch black, save for a couple of small lights surrounding the bizarre purchasable items. The only thing she could faintly see was a stallion near the counter.
"I see...you're back...."
"It didn't help."
"Oh! I take it things didn't go very well?"
"Grr..."
"What seems to be the matter?"
"Everypony hates me! Everypony! I don't...I don't know what to do anymore. That's why...I need you again. I'd like to take a look at...that."
"'The Mask Of Loki'? Miss...errr..."
"You can just call 'Miss'."
"Ok...Miss... could I offer something else that would help you?"
"I'm listening."
"It's a potion of my own creation. I call it......what do I call it? Um...The Potion!"
"That's a stupid name."
"Look I didn't spend all day just trying to name it!"
"Fair enough..."
"Now drink this once a day and your life will change in all the right ways."
"Yes! Wait...what's the catch?"
"Well...for one...your whole personality will transform!"
"That's bad."
"But it will change for the better!"
"That's good!"
"But you may not be able to control it."
"That's bad."
"But it'll get you coltfriends!"
"...."
"That's good."
"Fine I'll take it! Are we done here?"
"Yes. Yes. Come back soon!"
...
"Quite a character she is. And quite a character she will be..."
There was a crowd in the middle of the town. Although there were too many to let Twilight look past them, she could tell without problems that they were agitated. Twilight didn’t want to use her authority just to satisfy her curiosity, but by the looks on the ponies’ eyes, she reasoned it was a matter that needed her.
Once she managed to make her presence known, the ponies slowly stepped aside to give her way to pass. Once she was near enough to the first row, Twilight heard an all too recognizable voice calling out.
"Twilight Sparkle?" Twilight's heart skipped a beat when she heard her name called.
Unknownst to Twilight, the mare immediately recognized her and pushed aside the crowds to see her.
"Is that...is that...you?" The mare asked. She wore a dull grey suit with black glasses.
"I'm sorry," Twilight apologized, "do I know you?" The mare took off her glasses, revealing her true appearance.
"Do you remember now, Twilight Sparkle?" It was Trixie. A unicorn that Ponyvillians had come to hate. Ever since two incidents involving the magician occurred, Trixie was less than welcome in their town. Though, something felt off about her tone. It wasn't loud or overacting. It was kind and soft. As if a spirit had inhabited the old Trixie's body and voice.
"Trixie?" Twilight addressed. The two unicorns heard multiple gasps in the background. Their voices rang throughout the square.
"The boaster?"
"She had the nerve to come back again?"
"No, wait. Something's different about her. I swear."
"My gosh! You're right!"
"Um...Twilight...could we please talk...somewhere else. Please?" Trixie said, looking around.
"Sure..." Twilight said.
"Y-yes. Um...would you mind if they scooted a bit back? I-if that's not too much trouble. I'm sorry if I offended you," Trixie stammered. Twilight was surprised. This wasn't the Trixie she knew. In fact, it was quite the opposite. Did the Alicorn Amulet incident break her that badly?
"Everypony, could you please leave us alone for a few minutes?" Twilight requested.
"But, Twilight!" Just as Twilight finished talking, a cyan pegasus with a mane of many colors jumped into her sight. Without a doubt, this was the self-proclaimed fastest flier in Equestria: Rainbow Dash. "That's exactly what she wants!" Rainbow Dash said, suspiciously.
"Um...Rainbow, I thought that was pretty clear," Said an annoyed Twilight.
"But it's obviously a tr-"
"I'm sorry...I'm so sorry..." Trixie whimpered. Rainbow was about to respond when she saw the showmare with tears in her eyes. This took Rainbow off-guard. She'd expected teasing or some insults, but not tears.
"Um...well...I...uh..." Twilight gave Rainbow a disapproving look and then went to comfort the mare.
"Trixie, I-" Twilight began.
"No, it's alright. I should be going now anyways. Do you know any inns nearby?" Trixie asked, putting on her glasses.
"There's one to your left."
"Ok. Goodbye, Twilight."
Rainbow saw Trixie leave confused and bewildered. She was about to fly home when she saw something curious. Right before Trixie left, she twitched. Something was off. Very off. But...what?.
Bizzaro Tales: The Strange Case Of Ms. Lulamoon
Revenge Of The Great And Powerful Trixie
Trixie had a very successful and satisfying day. Aside from the pegasus, ponies genuinely thought she was different. She was an entirely new mare. Trixie walked into the inn room she had so recently acquired. The bed looked comfy enough, it had a nice view and the bathroom looked clean.
"Guess it was a good idea to buy that potion after all!" Trixie exclaimed. "I feel...great! I feel...reborn!" Trixie sighed. She fell into her bed like rain from the sky. "I feel like I cou-THE GREAT AND POWERFUL TRIXIE!!" Trixie immidiately put her hooves over her mouth. It was like those words came out involuntarily. As if someone else said those words out of Trixie's mouth.
"Heh...that's funny," Trixie said, embarrassed. "For a second there, I thought I said...THE GREAT AND POWERFUL TR-" Trixie covered her mouth once more. "Suddenly, I don't feel so well."
Trixie made her way to the bathroom sink. As with most sinks, there was a mirror on top of it. Trixie took a look at herself and then proceeded to splash her face with water. Surprisingly, she started to chuckle. The chuckling soon turned into a laugh. It grew louder and louder with each laugh until it sounded maniacal.
"THE GREAT AND POWERFUL TRIXIE!"
"What's...."
"HAPPENING!?"
"To m-"
"Trixie!"
Knock
Knock knock knock
"Rainbow! Rainbow Dash! Are you there?"
Rainbow sleepily got up from her warm bed to answer the door. The voice no doubt belonged to Twilight Sparkle, but what could she possibly want at this hour? At 10:30 PM?
"Rainbow Dash! Oh...you're up," Twilight said sheepishly as the door abruptly opened.
"Twi, it's 10 o' clock! I'm kinda sleeping here," Rainbow sleepily said.
"I know but...I'm worried about Trixie. After what you said today...she...she seems scared. I would really appreciate it if you went to the inn she's staying in and apologized,"
"Apologize? For what? She should apologize to us!"
"She did. Just to me. Maybe it was because...she was afraid of what would happen if she apologized to anypony else..."
"Alright! Enough with the guilt tripping! I'll go over."
"Oh thanks, Rainbow! I knew I could count on you!"
No sooner than she had said those words, Twilight took off and flew towards her castle. However, reluctant as she was, Rainbow knew she had a different route...
After a short flight, Rainbow found herself at the front steps of the inn. She went ahead and let herself in. Rainbow saw a white unicorn with glasses writing a couple of things down on her notepad. Every ten seconds she would look at the time, moan and do it again.
"Um...hello?" Rainbow patiently waited for an answer, but there wasn't one. "Ahem....HE-LLO!"
"I'm sorry, would you like to rent a room?" The unicorn slurred.
"Actually I'd like to see someone," Rainbow replied, growing more impatient.
"What's her name?"
"Trixie."
"Room A113. Please go away." Rainbow slowly walked away from the worker and bumped into a pony wearing a dark cloak.
"Hey! W-" Rainbow immediately recognized the pony's face. Her white mane was unmistakable. "Trixie?"
"What business have you with the Great and Powerful Trixie?!" The mare, now revealed to be Trixie, shouted.
"I-I...wait....Trixie? Wha?!" Rainbow was confused. Was she right all along? Was Trixie up to her old ways again? Rainbow Dash stood there frozen as Trixie smirked at Rainbow.
"That's quite all right. It's normal to be awe-struck at the Great and Powerful Trixie. Move aside, innocent bystander, for Trixie is here t-to...t.......where....where am I?" Trixie collapsed on the ground shortly after saying those words. What just happened, Rainbow thought. Suddenly Trixie was boasting at her, now she just fainted like she'd been in a desert for a day or two.
"Somepony! Anypony! Call some medics!" Rainbow yelled, looking around.
"'Scuse me, what?" The inn worker said. She looked up from her notepad.
"Didn't you see what just happened!?"
"Sorry, I only pay attention to things worth my time." The inn worker resumed writing on her notepad.
"Ugh! A PONY JUST FAINTED!" Rainbow shouted.
"Oh! Gosh! This could cost me my job!" The inn worker suddenly fidgeted around before dialing her phone dial clockwise and calling a number. "Yes? Yes this is Gusty! Gusty Wind from Winter Inn? Look, there's been an accident over 'ere! I need some help! Yeah, I'm sure you're on your way, just hurry!" Gusty hung up her phone.
"So, are they coming?" Rainbow asked, worriedly.
"Yeah. But they said it'd be fifteen minutes or so. Ugh. Customer service these days."
Rainbow rolled her eyes and checked Trixie's heart rate.
"So what'she? Yer marefriend or what?" Gusty asked.
"No way! She's...someone I met and...kinda...sorta...got mad at each other." Rainbow said. "Wait a second, where were you when the incident happened!?"
"I told ya, I only pay attention to things worth my time. As in: my job...and possibly somepony's life. I'll get a first aid kit in case she's got anything bleeding from anywheres." Gusty walked over to the other side of the room.
"Thanks."
"R....a....i...n...b...o..w."
Rainbow heard a small moaning. At first she thought it might be Gusty again, but she soon realized it was coming from Trixie.
"Trixie? Trixie! Try to wake up!" Rainbow encouraged.
"I...m...s...o...r...r..y," Trixie groaned.
