Enchanted Heart: Breaking Free

It was really early morning, and the sun had not yet been rised.

Twilight, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie and Spike were all on their way to the train station.

Yesterday’s rain had made several puddles along the way, that was distracting Pinkie.

“This unexplained magic thing is making me nervous..” Fluttershy stuttered.

“Don’t worry. We have the elements with us. No matter what is on that island, they won’t be able to hurt us.” Twilight assured, trying to calm Fluttershy down a little.

Soon they were all seated on the train.

“I’M SO EXITED! ANYONE ELSE EXITED? I AM REALLY EXITEEEED!” Pinkie shouted, jumping in her seat.

“Chill, Pinkie. It’s a deserted island. Not a partyisland.” Rainbow mumbled to the overly exited Pinkie.

“I thought it was a DESSERT island…” The pink pony said, with a disappointed tone.

The 6 ponies (and Spike :P) Were now inside the castle, on their way through the big room.

"ECHO! ECHOO!!!" Pinkie shouted, while bouncing up and down. "Fluttershy, try it you too!" She chirped, before returning to listening to her own echo.

"Ehm.......yaaay....." Fluttershy whispered in response.

"This again?" Rainbow exclaimed, before a door in front of them was opened.

Both princess Celestia and princess Luna were waiting for them there.

"Twilight, it has been so long since I have seen you." Celestia greeted the unicorn mare, with a smile.

"It is good to see you too, Celestia." Twilight replied, returning the smile.

The whole gang followed the two princesses further into the castle, through rooms, past doors, untill they got to a room full of equipment.

"I and Luna have worked on finding equipment that will help you all on the island, and that fits your special talents the best." Celestia said, and picked up a pair of goggles.

"Rainbow Dash, these are for you. These goggles have a warmth-sensing feature, making it easier to spot wildlife." Luna explained.

"Sweet!" Rainbow replied with, before trying on the goggles.

"Fluttershy, this is for you. This radar senses animals, and defines the species and breed." Celestia said, and handed the radar to Fluttershy.

"Oh my.. Thanks.." She replied, and recieved the radar.

Twilight got an extra advanced magic book, containing speels even alicorns have to study long to ever master, to help define the magical aura.

Rarity got a book of gems and crystals, in case there are any enchanted crystals on the island.

Pinkie and Applejack got their natural connection to the earth, but they still received a book about nature and landscapes, to help see if anything was odd.

“Where is the sea…..” Nova said to herself, as she trotted through the forest.

She had gotten quite used to the island, but still got confused of which direction was right.

The fog had almost disappeared completely, and the small amount that was left was lit up by the sunlight.

Finally the forest stopped, and the wide open beach facing the huge oceans was lying in front of Nova.

The alicorn trotted over to the water, and her eyes were captured in the beautiful gaze of the sunrise.

Nova was still not sure, but it was said that there were 2 alicorns rizing the moon and sun.

“It is at least more useful than summoning northern light.” She whispered to herself.

Why did her mother even need her at home? She could summon the northern light over their new kingdom until her younger brothers were old enough, and then that problem was solved.

The peace and freedom was delightful.

No royal duties. No higher rank. No limits.

Nova could do whatever she wanted. She did not have to be a perfect example. She could think and say whatever she had on her mind.

“But maybe I should try to achieve my goal with this unexpected trip….” Nova thought out loud to herself.

Her gaze landed on the land, that was barely visible from the island.

The alicorn stretched out her wings.

She foulded them out, and took a deep breath.

Nova started trotting, that slowly turned into galloping.

She flapped her wings, and took a big leap.

The alicorn mare tried her best to stay stabile in the air, but it was hard.

Her hooves touched the ground, and she jumped up in the air.

Now she flied higher than ever before.

18 meters over the ground, she was sailing on the wind, before stumbling onto the ground again.

Nova was proud over her new achievement.

She turned around, looking towards the land again. But this time, there was something else there too…

A boat, heading towards her island.

In shock, she dashed into the forest, and took a big leap, landing on a treebranch about 3 meters over the ground. She then jumped up to another branch higher up, and then to another.

Soon, she was almost 10 meters over the ground.

She sat down here, and lifted her head up, peeking above the leaves of all the other trees on the island.

Nova turned her head towards the boat, that had come closer.

Now she could even see who was on the boat, which was  a purple and a white unicorn, a yellow and a blue Pegasus, a pink and an orange earth pony and a purple baby dragon!

“Those are… The ‘pure’ ponies!” Nova whispered to herself, before watching as the six ponies got off the boat.

They had a lot of different gear with them, which was unsetteling to Nova.

She ducked down under the leaves, before jumping and climbing the trees further into the forest.

In the middle of the island was the home of the biggest, oldest tree.

It was many hundread years old, and hollow to some degree.

This was where Nova spent most of her time, because the branches towards the top were growing so tight that it almost formed a floor.

The tree was not a home like you maybe imagine.

There was no electronics, no books, nothing. Just a hollow tree, with a bed of leaves in it.

Nova had just landed on the ‘floor’ of branches, when she heard something.

It was just like a ‘zoom’..

When she turned around, she jumped into a tree. It was the blue pegasus.

And it was flying perfectly. Perfect stability, high speed, everything Nova could not do.

Nova jumped down to the ground. In the middle of the island, the forest was hard to get through.

Yes, Nova’s goal was to find the true story about the war 50 years ago. But she was young, she had a long life, lots of time to find the true story.

And she didn’t feel quite ready to face the ‘pure ponies’ yet.

So staying in this part of the island was probably the smartest thing to do.

The paths were no longer visible here, and the branches would make it hard to move on the ground.

The mane six and Spike had just gotten off the small boat, that had brought them to the island.

Fluttershy took a deep breath, and was greeted by some birds.

They all split up to make the search easier, where Applejack and pinkie went together, Rainbow by herself, Rarity also went by herself, and Twilight, Fluttershy and Spike in a group.

Twilight, Fluttershy And spike followed the main path into the forest, while studying their surroundings.

Suddenly, something popped up on Fluttershy’s radar.

The problem was that.. This creature was unknown.

“Twilight…..” Fluttershy stuttered, and looked over at her, that was now sitting and studying a flower.

“Twilight, there are someone here….” She added, and finally Twilight reacted.

“Who?”  she asked, and tilted her head. “I don’t know..” Fluttershy replied, with a worried expression.

Spike jumped out of the forest, and ran down the path to Twilight and Fluttershy.

“The forest gets really dense, we will have to climb the trees to get through in there!” He exclaimed, and pointed at the road into the heart of the forest.

At first Fluttershy hesitated, but she gave in, and then they headed down the path.

“Spike, where are you?”

“Over here!”

Nova jumped at the sound. They were coming closer.

It sounded like they were struggling, which gave Nova an idea.

Maybe she didn’t want to talk to them, but she could still take a chance and see them?

This would be the first time in 50 years, maybe they had changed?

Nova jumped from branch to branch, and suddenly, she could see them struggling down under her.

They hadn’t gotten far up. But now she could see them a lot better.

It was the purple unicorn, the yellow Pegasus and the purple dragon.

Nova also noticed their equipment. The Pegasus held a radar, that began flashing green.

She looked at it, and then, up.

Then Nova and the yellow pegasus made eye contact. The pony’s eyes were filled with fear, and Nova took a step back.

Was she actually more scared of Nova then Nova was of her?

“Twilight….. Spike….. We’re not alone….” She whispered.
