Chapter One - The Book

12:00 pm, I'm tired and I don't look forward to the exams at 4:30. I'll just take my 100th book from the library and just read. Maybe get some new spells. I've been itching for something like that to happen.

Oh listen to me ramble. My name is Galactic Drifter. I'm a black coated unicorn with a blue and white pony-tailed mane, my tail cut short so it wouldn't bother me while I walk around. I walked out of my small room, and walked into my bathroom and just stared into the cracked mirror that my dad never bothered to fix. my gloomy deep red eyes were practically the only thing I saw correctly in that mirror. I got out of the bathroom, and stepped downstairs.

No one was home. Strange. Usually my stay-up-all-night dad would get drunk and bitch at the TV that he thought was on, underline thought because that thing isn't even plugged in and its a flat screen TV, one of those smaller ones. But still. I didn't see any reason to stick around because I have to go in four hours so I got into the kitchen, that still needed to have its large light fixed because the light is flickering, I levitated a mug towards myself, my favorite space themed mug, I made some coffee and filled my mug, fortunately it had a lid for it so I put the lid on and walked outside.

I walked towards my two friends, Star Glaze, and Flare Glaze, twin sisters. Star was a crimson red Pegasus with a bright white, long mane and tail, with a black iris color, and Flare was exactly like Star, but her mane was crimson red, while her coat was bright white, her iris color was black, just like her sister. I waved at them and I walked over to them, as I tripped over and landed face first onto the grass.

Star and Flare ran over to me. and helped me stand. "Are you okay?" They both said, at the exact same time. I nodded and looked back to what I had tripped on, and walked over to it. It was a book. Why was it buried in the ground? I started digging around it with my hoof, and I yanked it out of the ground, dirt sprayed up into the air, some bounced off my chin.

Now to figure out what this book is.

Star and Flare watched me as I brushed the book off with my right hoof, and I read the cover. It was a spell book, well that was obvious when I saw the words "Spell Book" on the top in small text, and I uncovered the rest of the books cover, and I read it out.

"An Alicorn's Guide Beyond This Universe"

I've heard about this book, although I didn't know it was a SPELL book, I showed the twins the cover of it, and they both gasped. "Open it up!" They shouted. I placed the book on the ground where we didn't dig, and opened the book, reading note after note, the twins standing side by side around me, and we found a lot of magic patterns, and a lot of spell notes, and there was a spell tagged "The Ultimate Spell" on the 3rd page, it said that the quantity of magic that is used during this spell is dangerous for other races besides an Alicorn.

I beg to differ.

I told the girls I'd be studying the book, and as predicted, they were concerned but I managed to keep calm about it, and I used my teleportation spell and appeared into my room, on my worn, brown bed, and started reading over "The Ultimate Spell" pages, over and over, practicing the spell, and every time I got further into actually preform the spell, it stung. But being the stubborn 15 year old Unicorn I am, I kept cracking at it. And just an hour before I had to go to class, My horn sparked and I was suddenly in space, IN SPACE!!! My head hurt like a mothef cker, while I screamed in agony, I realized I was still breathing, How? I had opened my eyes, and I was in some sort of bubble, floating in space, I had put myself through more agony just to get back to Equestria.

I ran as fast as I could and got over to the twins. "Girls! I got the spell to work!" I shouted. Flare and Star looked at me gaping, and once again, they both spoke at the same time. "You did?!! What's it like? Where did you go??" I waited for them to calm a little then spoke, "Somewhere out in Space"

"Do you think you can bring us with you?" They asked with literally no hesitation. I held the book close to me with my left foreleg/hoof. "Gather around girls."

This was probably a big mistake, my head nearly exploded last time I used the spell.

I opened the book with my other hoof, and found the last page, I gritted my teeth and started preforming the spell, and that hurt even more like last time, I'm surprised, and lucky I didn't just die from that, and we were gone with a flash, and in space we were, my head pounding and in the distance from the bubble me and the twins were in, we saw what looked like a milky way.

If Milky Ways could spin like a saw blade and glow bright blue.

The twins helped me through my headache, within 3 minutes I was normal, and I looked at the spinning milky way portal thing, and I read a page of the spellbook, how to pilot the bubble, its all mental, you literally pilot this bubble with thought. I piloted the bubble towards the spinning milky way and it sucked us in.
