Intro One: Dayy Onyx
You should kill them, Dayy.
I don't see exactly where the logic comes in there.
Logic is a waste of your energy. You are driven by instinct.
No. That's you.
Exactly. We are one. You are me, and I am you.
This... I guess you could call it an argument... had been going on for hours. Years, actually. Still, the words were always the same. Practically habitual repetition by now. Dayy adjusted her black masquerade style mask and pushed the voice to the darkest recesses of her mind, drowning out the constant chatter. She looked about herself, amazed that some of these people were actually given weapons and allowed entrance to Beacon, which was the airship's current destination. Whoever had made that decision must be missing more than just a few brain cells.
Dayy's eyes were drawn to one student in paricular. Probably bacause the girl was, instead of gawking at the view like the rest, staring very obviously at her, head tilted a bit and eyes squinted. There's always someone watching, Dayy thought. The slits in her mask limited her field of vision considerably, and as soon as she turned away, a startlingly loud voice sounded from behind her.
"Heeeyyyyy theeeerrreeeee!" Dayy flinched and whirled to face the voice. It was the same girl. She wore a ridiculous looking grin set below two rust colored orbs. Her hair a bright red and cut about an inch long set off her navy blue skirt and tee and a pair of combat boots of a much lighter shade of blue.
"Uhm... hello," Dayy replied quietly, taking a quick step backward and nearly losing her balance.
"So what's with the mask? You look soooo pale. Trying not to get sunburn? Ya know sun block works just as well. Probably bette--" She stopped suddenly, an odd look on her face. "Oh, sorry. I tend to ramble. My name's Laura Lapis. And yours?" She extended a hand and smiled warmly.
After hesitating for a moment, Dayy shook the outstretched hand. "Dayy Onyx," she replied a little more confidently. Laura's face suddenly lit up with that grin again. It seemed to be her default facial expression. Or maybe she just didn't know that it was so cheerful it was actually a bit frightening.
"Heyyyyy. Lapis. Onyx. They're both minerals! That's so cool!" Wow, this girl was enthusiastic.
Their conversation was interrupted by the hologram of an older woman with platinum blonde hair and piercing green eyes. One overly rehearsed speech later, the image flickered and was gone again. Dayy turned back to Laura, but she was gone. Probably off trying to make some new friends. She seemed the type.
"Long time no see, Scarface," came the startlingly close voice.
Dayy tensed as she felt a tap on her right shoulder. Her hand darted inside her thick leather jacket and she drew Slayer, a shortsword with one serrated edge. Sweeping it up and over her shoulder until the point rested on the boy's throat, she asked in a monotone, "What the hell are you doing here, Herald?"
Dayy turned around, her sword still just touching his exposed throat. The boy - Herald grinned, then raised his right hand and pushed away the blade, emitting a screeching sound. His entire right arm shone with a metallic light. "Well, I heard they had good food he-"
"Cut the act. Last I saw you, you were one arm short of a person," She interrupted, examining the metal arm. "Care to explain?" Dayy retracted the blade of Slayer into its hilt and slid it back into the holster next to Sentinel, the other half of her blade set.
"Well, I guess you could call me a guinea pig. After I lost it, Schnee dust and the Atlas military gave me this," he showed off his new arm, "And sent me off to Beacon two years ahead."
"And you think that's safe?"
"Well look at that! Scarface actually cares for my safety! Who knew you had a heart?" He said far too sincerely to be serious. He pointed up to the stage, his ever present grin unwavering. "Show's starting."
"Like I care what's happening up there," she said in a harsh whisper as a man - presumably the headmaster - began speaking. "You seriously let the military send you to Beacon at fifteen? I knew you were enthusiastic, bu-"
"Scarface," Herald cut in, his face and tone growing serious for a fleeting moment before the grin returned. "I may have missed a few years of training back at Signal, but my time in Atlas more than made up for that. Besides," He tapped her mask with his metal arm and ignored the glare he knew was hidden under it. "I couldn't let you have all the fun."
"Damn it, He-" Dayy was cut off by the same woman from the airship on stage adressing the students after the headmaster's speech.
"You will gather in the ballroom tonight. Tomorrow, your initiation begins. Be ready. You are dismissed."
Dayy scowled and turned back to Herald. "We are NOT finished with this conversation, Herald Blu," she said before merging into the crowd headed for the ballroom.
This was going to be a LOOOONG year for sure.

Intro Two: Herald Horatio Blu
The view is so much better up here. No ceiling to block out the clouds. mused the boy. He sat atop the airship, never one to put safety before happiness. He was of a tall, broad build, a mop of unruly and curly brown hair tickled the back of his neck. He wore a blue duster and jeans, but his most notable feature was a mechanical arm that took the place of his right arm. Though, to others, it looked like a gauntlet...a very intricate gauntlet.
"What big eyes you have the kind of eyes that just drive boys mad..." Herald Horatio Blu, son of Grenadier General Henry Blu, hummed along to the tune of the song quite literally playing in his head.
Herald was what you could call a cyborg. And a damn good one, at that. Sent to Beacon as a sort of... test run.
Herald's song ended, so he turned his neural implants back to their regular state and stole a look through the window just in time for him to see Dayy being pestered by a girl in blue.
"Yeesh. Scarface is not off to a good start," he said with a hearty laugh before walking to the head of the ship as it approached Beacon, rolling his shoulders and stretching his legs. Then he leaped off, leaving a dent in the ship and sailing towards the landing pads of Beacon.
Making an impact on the concrete, Herald stumbled a bit. It'd been a risk, even with the help of his absurd strength. A volatile semblence if there ever was one. Although Herald had never been the type to shy away from danger. Hell, if he were, he wouldnt have made it to Beacon so early. Or at all.
"Nailed it," he said with a cocky grin before stepping out of the crater and walking away just as the ship landed, the door opening just before a blonde boy ran out and puked in a trash can. "He on the other hand did not..." he said making a face. As the blonde boy continued puking his guts out Herald saw a familiar set of faces leave the ship, one wearing a familiar red cloak, the other had unmistakable yellow hair. He chuckled "SO! Cupcake and FireHazard made it after all...good to know." He put on a grin that rivaled the cheekiest of men, and he put on his N.M.V.D (Neural Musical Veiwing Device) it started playing Hell In a Handbasket. "Lets have some shennanigans." he then dashed off in the opposite direction of the ref cloaked girl and her sister grabbing a spare fuel canister from some sop with a fire sword.
Herald arrived in the ballroom after his chaos had been sown, ill spare the details for now, and was content to find a nice, cool place to catch some Z's.
That plan however was thwarted when he checked out the only vents in the room, one was WAY to far up to be comfortable to sleep near, another was out of order, and the last was...just being occupied as he sat there thinking.
DUST DAMNIT! he internaly bellowed in tired anger. He was thinking about aprroaching the pair, they were a eagle faunus girl with eagle brown featherish hair, and eyes to boot while the other had crocidilian eyes and thats all he could see, and then decided against it. He'd rather not start anything that may escalate to a race war here.
He settled on leaning against one of the pillars because all his baggage space was filled with wrenches, screwdrivers, dust, and spare parts he had no space for PJs or a sleeping bag. He also didn't want to expose his robo arm by removing his duster and exposing some of the less...subtle external gizmos ATLAS welded into him. An ace in the whole to say as well as some...prideful reasons so to say. He was just about to doze off when he saw his once cloaked friend Ruby Rose. He grinned.
"Time to step onto the stage." he said to himself standing, but leaving his weapon next to his bags. It was a silvery colored war-club with a Chinese dragons head for the...well head. A dragons tooth was in the pommel which housed the chamber for the 40mm incendiary grenade the thing could fire, when it wasn't belching fire that is. It was dubbed Dragoon by its previous owner a White Fang lieutenant.
