It's kind of like Friendship is Magic part 2
Spike was chilling up in his room. Sleep forever, here I come! he thought. He realized there was probably an issue with eternal night being declared by an ancient evil person that's been trapped on the moon since before he was born, but for now all he could focus on was the sleep.
But, he didn't get to sleep, because at that moment a man crashed in through the window. Spike's first reaction was to scream, and then hide in his bed, and then believe himself to be dreaming as he had never actually seen the mythic "human" in real life. So, he just went back to sleeping.
"What is this place?" Spike heard the man say. Spike could sort of tell that he wasn't dreaming, so he decided to talk to the dude.
"This is the library."
"Library in a tree? I can't think of a witty thing to say about the strangeness of this place. Believe it or not I've actually seen weirder things."
"I do believe you because this is completely normal."
"I wouldn't call it that, but okay." Spike began to grow frustrated. What's abnormal about a library in a tree? But the man seemed to have moved on from that. At any rate there was this weird humming noise so it made more sense to focus on that.
"Helicopters. We have to leave." The man urged Spike out of the tree library. He then told Spike to go get under this bench so he doesn't get hurt. Then the man, spotting the helicopters, did a super jump at supersonic speed, dodging every bullet shot at him. He smashed into the helicopter and, using this lighting that came out of his hand as if by magic, smashed through the windshield of the helicopter, pulled the pilot out (and threw him to the ground), and blew up the heli by shocking it too hard. He slammed down on the ground and it was like he didn't take any damage.
"I like this place already."
Spike was shocked. Not literally, the lightning had fizzled out before everything hit the ground. But he was definitely surprised.
"How did you do that?" Spike was able to get out.
"I like to travel a lot. Every where I go is a different place. And it seems that in this place, I have super jumping and lightning powers. Cool."
"Who are you?"
"You can call me Al." Al liked making pop culture references like that. He was always ready.
"..... Why are you here?" Spike asked for his final question.
"I'm on a mission from God."
Author's Note
I will update this chapter sporadically until it's finished.
A few weeks passed and, after Nightmare Moon was stopped (I don't need to go over that because you likely know all about that if you're reading this) all of Equestria knew about Al, the first human to exist for billions of years. It's actually a really big deal. Al was in a meeting with Celestia herself. The meeting was not going well.
"For the last time, how did you get here?" Celestia asked.
"Like I said, I like to travel a lot. I just came here."
"So there is a previously-unknown country that has humans in it?"
"There are plenty of countries that have humans. As far as I can see though there are none in this universe."
"So you are from another universe? That doesn't make any sense."
"And it never will." At that time Al got tired of this stuff so he got out and went down to the local Internet cafe and got out his laptop. He played Garry's Mod with his friends. Man, I love the Multiverse Wide Web. He was also able to play with some people he met in that Ponyville place. He played TF2 with "Rainbow Dash" as she called herself. She was an extraordinarily good Scout.
Then out of nowhere he got an invitation to join a voice chat with Princess Celestia. He answered it, hoping it wouldn't interfere with his games.
"Hello Al, I have decided that we need some sort of representative for this other dimension, in case we ever want to deal with it. I hear by appoint you to the position of Representative of the first-discovered Alternate Universe. The name would be better if you could tell me what you're world is called."
"Illinois."
"You are the Representative of Illinois then! You are also invited to the Grand Galloping Gala next month."
"Sweet. I'll be there." Al then ended the chat and continued to play when out of nowhere there was another helicopter! Al destroyed it faster than the last one. My power is increasing. , he thought. He couldn't wait to get back to Ponyville and talk to his homeboy Spike about it.
Spike was telling Al about everything he did for Twilight, being her assistant and all.
"You live with your employer?" Al asked him.
"She's not really my employer, she's kind of like my sister."
"All I'm saying, dude, is one day you're gonna want your own job, not connected to her. You gotta move out while there's nothing emotional attached to it like growing too big to even fit in or something."
Spike thought about his words while he slept. When he woke up he talked to Twilight.
"Twilight, I want to move out."
"Why?"
"I want my own job. This assistant stuff is tough."
"Uh, okay." Twilight was trying to act sad but you could tell she was eager for this: eventually Spike would come back and she could write to Celestia about it. Another letter, another way to improve myself in her eyes. Twilight thought. She really did want to be the best person ever to Celestia.
So Spike moved out and starting living with Al in the motel he paid for with his money he had left with him. Now the only thing left was for them to get a job.
Spike and Al were trying to figure out a place to work.
"Maybe we should try the Carousel Boutique. I'm sure Rarity would love to give us a job!" Spike said.
"I don't know what or who that is but if it will get me a job then I'm all for it."
They went down to the boutique and asked her for a job. She said she would appreciate the help as she was working really hard on this new order.
Over the course of the week Spike and Al went to the boutique, did their work, and then went home to play video games together. They were in the middle of an epic Portal 2 co-op game when they got a call from Rarity.
"Ye, this is Al, what do you need?"
"I NEED YOUR HELP EVERYTHING'S GONE WRONG ASAFHAIFDHFKDF"
They rushed to their workplace and found Rarity crying. Spike instantly ran to her aid.
"What's wrong?"
"They don't like the dresses I made and their making me recreate them! Who does that? Especially when I'm giving them the dresses for free!"
"Free? What? I've been doing all this work for free? " Al said as he got really angry. "Anyway you should do what they ask. You're providing a service to them.
"No, she should force her dresses upon them! Feel the wrath of Rarity!" Spike exclaimed.
What ensued was a battle of very little proportion. No one even hit the other person, they just sort of stared. Rarity didn't want to have to deal with any of it so she just fired them.
Spike and Al went to the library.
"Twilight, I need my job back." Spike was telling the truth here.
"I see you've learned your lesson. Well, you need a good rest for the work I have planned tomorrow so go lay down in your bed!"
"Actually Twilight, I'm staying at the motel. It's so awesome, Al and I play video games all the time."
Dang it, Spike, Twilight thought. This letter isn't going to read as well if you don't work for me AND live for me. Oh well, maybe I can spin this into something about letting people move on or something. Be humble and all that jazz.
"Okay, Spike, you can work for me."
Al got a job at some bakery.
Pinkie Pie eats too much cake.
It was the last possible week before Al needed to start getting ready for the Gala. He had worked at the bakery for a bit and he knew what to expect. He looked over and saw Pinkie Pie, a very manic pony, gorging on a slice of cake.
"Pinkie Pie, do you think that if you didn't eat so much cake you wouldn't be so loopy?"
"Huh?"
"I have a challenge for you, do not eat any sweets for the rest of the day."
Al went home and played CoD with Spike. The next day he goes into the bakery and Pinkie is sitting there with straight up lab equipment.
"Eureka! I've actually built a time machine!"
Al was amazed at how much not eating sweets could help a person.
"Can I use the time machine?"
"Sure!"
Al went back in time to the time of the dinosaurs and was able to slack off with the gala for a few more months. Then he decided to just go ahead and get it over with.
Al was surprised to learn that a new human was discovered! By the looks of him, Al thought he was the quintessential Internet troll, which you'd have to be if you continually sent the same helicopters at somebody, never making it harder, simply to annoy them. Al realized that this was the guy sending the helicopters out.
Al and the new guy were now dual representatives of Illinois, and during the Gala they stood by the princess. Al then told the guy to meet him in the restroom.
Al then shocked the guy really hard in the stalls.
"Are you the guy that sends the helis after me?"
"Yes! Yes now just let me go!!!"
Al let him go but the guy stood tall.
"Ha, you'll never stop the helicopter I have coming tonight! " And then he ran out.
Al rushed out to catch him but he was long gone. He then ran outside the place, bought some stuff from Applejack, and saw a huge helicopter with guns mounted on every inch. Literally the helicopter's outside was almost entirely made of guns. Al saw this as a new type of challenge and super jumped up to it. He got shot in the leg, the one bullet he wasn't able to dodge. As he fell down he was rapidly shot with all sorts of bullets.
But in a last effort he transformed into the lightning, and pulsed through the helicopter. It exploded and there was absolutely nothing left of it except for ash. He zapped down to the donut shop. The transformation managed to heal him completely, and even made him stronger. He now had limitless power. He thought to himself, I am a god!! as he walked into the donut shop. He sat down by his pal Spike.
Spike asked what he was doing here since he should be with the Princess as the representative. Al looked over, and smiled.
"I'm on a mission from God."
