Chapters Chapter 1 - Scootaloo's Crush
It wasn't a special day in ponyville. In fact it started like any other for the orange pegasus, she got up ate breakfast, brushed her hair, and went off to school. As she walked along the dirt road towards the schoolhouse she heard a familiar voice calling her, a beautiful singsongy voice that made her smile any time she heard it. It was Sweetiebelle. "Scoots wait up." she yelled with her trademark squeak. Oh how Scootaloo loved that squeak she thought it was the cutest sound in the world. Sweetie caught up to her and gasped for breath. "Wow scoots you sure do walk fast." she murmured between heavy breaths as they finally arrived at the schoolhouse.
"Take your seats children" Ordered Cherilee, the school teacher responsible for sweetiebelle and Scootaloo's class. As the children took seats around the room Scootaloo sat down next to Sweetiebelle. Scootaloo dared to sneak a few sideways glances in Sweetiebelle's direction. She just had to occasionally look at her perfect brushed mane or her pearl white skin that seemed to shine like a beautiful diamond. Scootaloo was so mesmerized that she didn't notice the teacher had called on her. "Scootaloo!" Cherilee yelled with all her might which finally brought the young pegasus to focus in a jolt of realization. "So you finally came back to equestria" she said in a annoyed way. "Now if you could answer the question Scootaloo?" Cherilee looked at the young filly expectantly.
"Oh um w-well I think the answer was 21" she said in a shy tone not knowing the question in the first place. The class began to giggle quietly so that only she could hear their mocking. Sweetiebelle groaned and gave her friend a look saying she was sorry for what was about to happen. Cherilee started to get mad and then became furious. However she tried to manage a calm and normal tone.
"Scootaloo we are doing HISTORY!" she yelled losing her composure talking to the young pegasus. "WE ARE DOING HISTORY NOT MATH AND THIS IS THE THIRD TIME THIS WEEK YOU'VE BEEN IN SPACE MY ENTIRE CLASS!!" she screamed at the young pegasus to the point where her student was at the point of tears. "So Scootaloo I have no choice but to issue you another detention, since this is your third one this month I will have no choice but to meet with your parents. Scootaloo couldn't speak she was in shock of what had just happened. Cherilee never got upset and if she was going to it certainly wouldn't be over her spacing out in class. She just sat there dumbfounded until she felt a warm hoof being placed on her shoulder. She turned in shock to see an amazing sight. It was Sweetiebelle with a sad look in her eyes and all she could do was look at her friend give a shy smile and do her best to reassure her that everything would be okay.
Later that day after she was feeling less rattled from all that had happened at school, she went to the clubhouse. She entered through the door in a rather good mood. Inside the clubhouse was completely empty. All that was there were a few posters, a roll call list, and some rock climbing equipment from yesterday's failed expedition. She went to the center of the small wooden shack and sat down. She looked at an empty wall and thought about all that had happened, from the yelling to almost crying to feeling safe with Sweetiebelle there to help her feel better. This entire day had confused her to no end and it was certainly not going to be easy to figure it all out.
While she was lost in thought a small yellow earth pony with a pink bow in her hair entered the clubhouse. The young earth pony saw Scootaloo in a trance like state in the middle of the clubhouse. What was going on? She looked to where Scootaloo was starting and there was nothing but a blank wall. What could have the filly in such a off-earth sate? "Um Scoots" she asked shyly, but the filly continued staring. "Hey Scoots" she spoke loudly. The orange pegasus snapped back to earth in a flash.
"Hey Bloom" the pegasus said cheerfully with a panicked look in her eyes. She dashed over to the earth pony. "Is there a meeting today?" she asked trying to change the subject that they hadn't even spoken about yet.
"No Scootaloo I was just passing through and decided to check on the clubhouse. Applebloom walked around the clubhouse and for the life of her couldn't figure out what Scootaloo had been staring at. "Scoots be honest, what the hell were you doing when I came in here." As soon as she said this the orange pegasus turned a deep red. "Ah so that's it. You have a crush on somepony." All the orange pegasus could do was sputter and turn away from her friend. "Ah knew it!" exclaimed Bloom "Who is it? Rumble? Featherweight? Pipsqueak?" she rolled off names as quick as she could.
"SHUT UP" screamed Scootaloo. She stormed out of the clubhouse. Applebloom could only watch in shock as her friend ran away from her. What had she done? She ran the whole way home and never looked back. Somewhere along the way she started crying. As tears streamed down her face she ran faster and faster until she bumped into something and got launched backwards. She looked up to see what obstacle was responsible for this. She looked up and was in utter shock. She couldn't believe her own eyes and was trying to figure out if this was real or just a mere illusion. Standing there with one hoof out was Sweetiebelle.

Chapter 2 - Oblivious Sweetie Belle Is Oblivious
"Scoots?" Sweetiebelle asked her hoof still outreached to the orange filly. She continued talking to the filly but was not heard, for scootaloo was in her own world. Sweetiebelle was getting pretty annoyed and only when that outreached hoof slapped Scootaloo in the face did she come back to reality. Scootaloo tried to hold back her tears now for two reasons.
"S-sweetie WHY THE HAY DID YOU SLAP ME!" screamed a Scootaloo close to tears.
"Sorry Scoots I couldn't get you to answer me so I didn't know what else to do." The unicorn was genuinely sorry about this and this made Scootaloo feel bad for yelling at her. "I-I didn't mean to hit you that hard I only meant to tap you." She was lying but didn't want one of her best friends to be mad at her. Sweetie didn't know what to do for she saw that Scootaloo was starting to cry and she knew something was wrong other than the slap. She sat down next to Scootaloo and looked the pegasus in the eyes. "What's wrong Scoots."
"Nothing" said the pegasus in the most unconvincing tone ever heard. She then looked up at Sweetiebelle hoping she understood there was something wrong. The unicorn sat there looking quite puzzled about Scootaloo's response . Then Sweetiebelle smiled.
"Ok then!" she said in a cheery tone and skipped away from where the pegasus was sitting "See you tomorrow." she called back as she disappeared over a hill. Scootaloo sad there in awe for a moment at her friends abandonment of her then all of a sudden she couldn't hold it back anymore. She cried. She cried uncontrollably for hours on end as the landscape grew dark around her. She didn't notice at all but one moment she was crying on the streets the next thing she knew she was crying in her room. She lie awake for many hours on end until she passed out from exhaustion. She never once stopped crying.
The next morning she awoke with a tear-stained face. She leaned over to check the time. It was 2:00 in the afternoon. Crap! she thought to herself. I have a cutie mark crusader meeting in one hour. God this will be so awkward. Sweetiebelle might be oblivious but apple bloom is smarter than that. She'll force the truth out me eventually and then who knows what will happen next. All these thoughts raced through her head at 1000 miles per hour until her phone buzzed. It was a text from Applebloom.
Sweetie came over last night and told me about last night r u ok?
She threw her phone down on the bed in frustration. How is today's meeting going to go she thought worriedly. Well one things for sure I'm going to be asked a lot of questions and I don't know what i'm going to say. I have to go though if I ditch it'll make me seem even more suspicious. Too confused to even keep thinking she got on her scooter and sped towards the clubhouse.
She reached the door to the clubhouse and took a deep breath. Finally she mustered up the courage to enter. As she went inside she was not prepared for what she saw. Sitting in the center of the clubhouse was Applebloom and that wasn't abnormal what shocked her was that Sweetiebelle wasn't there. "Hey Bloom where's Sweetie?" she inquired.
"She's not coming." said Applebloom with a smug tone of voice. She walked up to Scootaloo and stared her down then cleared her throat. "Listen Scoots I know something is going on here and you're gonna tell me what it is." Scootaloo turned white with fear. How did she know anything. Although running off from her was weird, with that and Sweetie's twisted version of what happened last night how did she figure anything out. Then what she said registered with her and the pale whet turned to a bright red.
"There is absolutely nothing going on here Bloom." she said once again in the most unconvincing tone ever, only this time she didn't do it on purpose. Applebloom however could hear tone considering she understood more than Sweetiebelle. She gave her friend a look of doubt and pure pity that caused Scootaloo to finally break.
"So you want to tell me what ah already know Scoots" said Applebloom smiling reassuringly.
"I-I have a crush on somepony." she choked out.
"Ya wanna tell me who Scoots." she said with a comforting smile that made Scoots finally realize she was the only one to tell before the secret ate her alive.
"S-ss weetie b-b-b elle." she finally choked it out.
"Alright then only one thing left to do then." said Applebloom
"What's that?" Scootaloo asked
"Help you get that girl"
Author's Note
More oblivious Sweetie in the next chapter. (Plus other things.) This chapter is just named for the crying bit at the beginning.
(On another note I'm always open to suggestions luv ya dudes)
Scootaloo was dumbfounded. She stared at Applebloom who had just offered her help and didn't know what to say. She was very grateful for her friend's offer and wanted to say so but couldn't make her lips move. Without thinking she did the only thing she could think to do. She went to Applebloom and hugged her. Man is she a great friend Scootaloo thought. Now all I need to do is speak and maybe I can get started on getting my dream girl. "T-Thank you so much Bloom." she finally choked the words out. "I don't know what to say."
"Then stop talking before you knock yourself out." said Applebloom. "What we're focused on now is getting you that girl and we need a plan to do it!" she exclaimed with confidence. Scootaloo smiled knowing that with Applebloom's help she was sure to be able to get Sweetiebelle to go out with her.
"I'm in." Scootaloo said without hesitation. "I'll do anything I can to make this happen." Applebloom smiled at her friends confidence and knew that she was going to see this through until her friends were happy.
"Alright then, we're gonna need to get you and Sweetie alone so you can tell her the truth, but you can't tell her right away you need to build up to it so it feels more special." said Applebloom.
"More special?" asked Scootaloo in a confused tone. She didn't understand why she couldn't do things her way and just be straightforward. "Why shouldn't I just come out and say it to get it over with" she said.
"Why haven't you done that already." replied Applebloom. She had a point, although Scootaloo wanted to be with Sweetiebelle more than anything she was genuinely scared of telling her in fear that she would hate her. This was a thought Scootaloo could not bear because before Applebloom came along Sweetiebelle was her only friend. If She lost Sweetiebelle her life would never be the same again. She realized how long she had been thinking when she saw Applebloom impatiently staring at her. "I thought so, you have absolutely no reason other than the fact that your scared. I need to know your fully on board with me before we go any further because I will not go through all of this strife if you're not going to at least try to get that girl. So tell me Scootaloo when I set this up are you gonna get that damn girl or do we give up now." she finished her speech out of breath. Scootaloo stared at Applebloom dumbfounded with what she had said. Then slowly her shock turned into confidence and she eventually had a confident smile on her face. She turned to Applebloom and cleared her throat.
"I am in love with that girl. I have been for longer than I can remember. I would do anything for her. So yes, yes I am going to go through with this because dammit i'm going to be happy!" she exclaimed as she stomped her hoof on the ground hard enough that a picture fell off the wall. Applebloom was frozen in shock. She had no idea Scootaloo felt that way about anyone. She definitely meant it and that made Applebloom smile. She was so happy about this that she wanted to help in anyway she could so she needed more specifics to her plan.
"Alright then I'll figure out the specifics to the plan tonight and we can meet tomorrow here at the same time to finalize everything. Then all that's left is to get Sweetie." said Applebloom.
"Ok!" Scootaloo exclaimed. She went home that day excited knowing that tomorrow she would have the way to win over the love of her life. She slept well that night, better then she ever had before because she knew everything was going to be ok.

The next day she woke at noon. That definitely made up for sleep she had lost the nights before. She had three hours until she had to meet Applebloom at the clubhouse. So she had some time to kill. She got up and grabbed her scooter. She knew exactly where she wanted to go. It was a small lake in the middle of the forest. It was a nice spot, quiet and tranquil. It was the only place she knew that she had all to herself. She went there to feel better when she was sad, when she was alone, or even when she just needed to get away from it all. It was her favorite place in the world. However she had come to say goodbye. "Hello old friend" she spoke to the water. "We've had a lot of good times" she continued. "You know I came here for all the tragedies in my life and somehow you made me feel better, but most of the time I came here when I was all alone because this place made me forget everything bad for a while, it made me realize that there was a light at the end of the tunnel. Unfortunately this is the last time i'll ever come here because after tonight i'll never be alone again." Scootaloo said those words in excitement and fear for what was to come. As she left she glanced back at the pool one last time. "Thank you old friend." With that she walked away.
She arrived at the clubhouse an hour early so she just sat down. She thought about what crazy plan Applebloom had come up with and how it was going to work. She had to think it would work however, she had to have faith that somehow she would get that girl. Applebloom came bursting through the door a look of excitement on her face. "Scootaloo I have a plan!" she ran over and hugged Scootaloo which made her feel more confident that Applebloom wasn't going to disappoint her. "Here goes." she said preparing to tell scootaloo the plan. "I talked to Rarity and Applejack and have set up for the three of us to go to lunch tomorrow. However i'll fake being sick so it'll just be you and Sweetie. You guys can chat and you can start flirting a bit. Now she won't notice at first because well, how do I put this delicately, a little slow with that kind of thing. Then come out and tell her at the end of the meal. If she likes you back then we're good to go!" she started breathing deeply after talking for so long. Scootaloo liked the plan. The only that could go wrong was her not liker her back. So she felt she needed to give it a try.
"Ok sounds good" she said. Applebloom smiled and nodded at her.
"Good luck out there kiddo I want you to be happy."
"Thanks Bloom I owe you one." and with that she was off waiting for the big day ahead.
The big day had finally arrived. Scootaloo awoke at 8 in the morning, not one minute before or one minute after. She had four hours to get to the restaurant and was going to make very second before hand count. She took a shower and fixed her mane. She didn't dress up because it was supposed to be more discreet than that. She groomed herself so at least she would look attractive. She then went back to her room. Scootaloo took out her phone and called Applebloom.
"Hello?" Applebloom answered sounding like she had come down with the worst cold of all time.
"Applejack in the room?" Scootaloo asked.
"Yes" Applebloom answered
"Ok that explains the voice, did you get out of lunch?"
"Yes" said Applebloom
"Thanks Bloom i'll see you tomorrow." she hung up the phone smiling.
Scootaloo was ecstatic. She had no idea that Bloom was such a convincing actor. Now all she had to do was go in there and get Sweetiebelle. She had three hours still to get to the restaurant. Scootaloo laid back on her bed smiling. This was going to be a good date. Of course Sweetiebelle didn't know it was a date so that complicated things a little, but she would fix that in due time. She thought about how nothing could go wrong as she drifted off to sleep.
"Oh crap!" she yelled. It was ten minutes before her date with Sweetiebelle. She didn't care how bad her hair was messed up or anything she grabbed her scooter and rode off faster than she ever had before. She was scared she wouldn't make it she had three minutes and she was on the other side of town. She started stunting like crazy doing long jumps and making every risk she needed to get there on time. The clock struck 12 and she was still pretty far away she had no chance of making it. She stopped her scooter halfway there and cried. She didn't know what to do she was late. Then she remembered Sweetiebelle didn't think of this as anything more than an ordinary lunch. Being a few minutes late wouldn't be strange at all. She rode fast but did't risk her life stunting this time. When she showed up it was 12:10. She got up a lot of courage and walked in. Sweetiebelle was sitting at a table on the left side of the restaurant. It was next to a window. Considering the nice sunny weather outside it made a perfect natural light to set a mood. She stopped dead in her tracks when she saw Sweetiebelle closer up. She looked more beautiful then ever. The way the light hit her gave her an angelic glow that made Scootaloo melt inside. She was perfect. In that moment she knew that Sweetiebelle was the one. Scootaloo became ore confident then ever. She couldn't let Sweetiebelle get away. She walked over to the table and sat down across from Sweetiebelle.
"Oh hi Scootaloo!" Sweetie said in a cheery voice. "Applebloom couldn't make it she came down with a terrible cold. I hope she gets better soon." Just not before today Scootaloo thought smiling. She made a mental note that she owed Applebloom a lot especially if this went well, but it was worth it for Sweetiebelle. She thought about her plan to slowly work up to asking her out. She would subtly compliment her until the mood was right. One problem she thought. I don't know how to flirt especially not subtly. That would be an issue she thought but I have to try. Alright subtle subtle just start with something simple.
"You look like a fairy princess." Wait what the hay just came out of my mouth.
"Oh thanks I did my mane for a show Rarity is doing later.
Thank god for Sweetiebelle's completely oblivious personality thought Scootaloo. How could she not catch that though and more importantly why the hay did I say that. A fairy princess? Come on Scoots you can do better then that. Then a horrible though dawned on her. Sweetiebelle was totally oblivious. That means subtle wouldn't work she'd have to go straight for the kill. Ugh why is love so freakin' hard. Oh crap I'd better start talking i've been spacing out for too long. "So Sweetiebelle what are you going to get to eat?" she inquired.
"I'm looking at a salad." she said concentrating on the menu.
"Oh that's what i'm thinking about too." Scootaloo said.
A waiter came up to them. "Hello children what can I get for you today." he asked with a kindly smile.
"Specialty salad" they said together.
"Ok then kiddos coming right up." he said as he finished writing on his pad. Then he walked away.
"So Sweetiebelle what have you been doing lately?" Scootaloo inquired.
"I don't know." she said it quickly and irritably
What the hey was up with her. It must mean something is wrong. She had to figure out what it was. Oh damn me and my care for this filly. "Is there something wrong Sweetiebelle?" she asked cautiously.
"NO I-Imean no every things fine." she said catching her self.
Okay that was weird thought Scootaloo. I need to figure this out. However the waiter voice snapped her out of her train of thought.
"Here you girls go enjoy your meal." he said setting down one salad. Oh crap thought Scootaloo she had been zoo busy thinking that by the time she noticed the lone salad sitting on the table he was gone. What would she say given this incredibly awkward situation. More importantly who would get the food. The two girls looked into each others eyes and it seemed to say the same thing. MY FOOD. They both dived for the salad when it happened. Their lips touched. Scootaloo felt her fact turn red immediately. It had been an eternity now. Or half a second. Her time telling wasn't great at a time like this. All of a sudden the kiss broke. She looked to Sweetiebelle already hallway to the door. Tears streaming down her face.
Author's Note
Ooh tears. I wonder why?
Scootaloo was in shock. What the hell had just happened. She didn't know how to react to the intensity of this situation. She had just kissed Sweetiebelle. That wasn't a problem in her book. The problem was that Sweetiebelle had ran out after. Also she had been acting strange all throughout the lunch. She had been very irritable and seemed distracted. Something must have been going on. She had to get to the bottom of it. She put down bits on the table for the meal and dashed out of the restaurant.
Scootaloo knew Sweetiebelle almost better than she knew herself. There were advantages to tracking down your best friend. As far as she knew Sweetiebelle had three places she hid from people. The clubhouse, Sugarcube Corner, and the edge of the Everfree Forest. She knew the first place to look was the clubhouse. She ran to the old wood shack as fast as she could.
When she arrived there it didn't look like anyone had been there recently. She looked inside and saw nothing. There was no trace of her anywhere around the clubhouse. Scootaloo sighed, of course this wasn't going to be easy. Something big was going on and it must be something bad. Sweetiebelle was one of the most cheerful ponies she knew. If she was acting this strange there was something going on. Next up was Sugarcube Corner. That one seemed more likely as Sweetiebelle was known to eat her troubles as a way of dealing with them. Scootaloo laughed at tough of when they were younger. Sweetiebelle had been yelled at by a teacher and she had run out of the class. By the time Scootaloo had found her she had eaten half of Sugarcube Corner's inventory. Scootaloo shook her head quickly. She had to focus on finding her friend. She ran out of the clubhouse and sprinted down the road to Sugarcube Corner as quick as she could.
She was well out of breath by the time she saw the dessert shop in sight. She silently cursed her stupid wings for not flying right. Scootaloo was panting as she walked up to the door and pushed her way inside.
The place was deserted. Lyra and BonBon were the only customers in sight. At the counter Mr. and Ms. Cake were trying to stay awake at the counter. Only two things were for sure. One, it was going to be a slow business day. Two, there was no Sweetiebelle. Scootaloo sighed and slumped on the ground.. This is hopeless she thought.. I'll never find her. As she was about to give up she thought of all the times Sweetiebelle had come through for her. She couldn't give up. She pulled herself off the ground, stomped a hoof, and ran towards the edge of the Everfree forest.
Running sucks she thought. Although I have no choice if I want to find her! She ran as fast as she could, not even stopping for a breath. As she neared the Everfree Forest the sky began to turn pink as night neared. Scootaloo began to lose hope. How much longer could she keep this up? Finally Scootaloo found herself at her destination. The Everfree Forest. She knew that past the first few trees was a clearing. That clearing was the place that Sweetiebelle went when she was sad. Scootaloo was scared of what may have been going on. She took a deep breath and pushed through the trees and into the clearing.
Author's Note
This is filler to set up for a large scale tragedy that ends in some romance. (Ooh this ought be good)
Scootaloo pushed her way into the clearing. There sitting on a rock facing away from her, was Sweetiebelle. Of course she thought. The last place she looked as it was getting dark. But then she noticed something. A teardrop hitting the ground. Sweetiebelle was crying. How was she going to approach this. How would she comfort her. She didn't even know what was wrong. Should she just leave? All of these questions flowed through her mind. She stepped forward thinking she should go back and not disturb her in case she got angry again.
*SNAP*
The twig split into two under her hoof. Making a noise loud enough to send a few birds flying out of their trees. Time seemed to stop in Scootaloo's mind as she felt her heart drop. In her slowed state of time she saw Sweetie's head begin to turn around. Scootaloo's heart raced and pounded like a drum in her chest. What was she going to do. She had no choice now it was like the universe telling her that she had to approach Sweetiebelle. She had to figure out what was wrong once and for all. Sweetiebelle got up and dashed towards Scootaloo at full speed almost as if she was trying to run through the only exit in the forest as if Scootaloo wasn't there. "I'm sorry about this Scoots." Scootaloo heard her say before a pink blast emerged from her horn knocking Scootaloo into a tree. By the time Scootaloo regained her senses. Sweetiebelle was long gone.
"Dammit" Scootaloo yelled in frustration. She couldn't keep chasing Sweetiebelle all around especially considering she apparently had strong enough magic to blast Scootaloo into a tree. "When the hell did she learn how to do that!" at this point Scootaloo was talking to herself. "The most i've ever seen her do is create pathetic sparks." On top of that she knew that Sweetiebelle wouldn't have full magic for another year at least. The best she could guess was Sweetie's mood caused a temporary boost in her magical ability. Scootaloo needed a way to end this she couldn't spend the rest of her life chasing Sweetiebelle around Equestria. She then had an idea.
Scootaloo begun to stand up but couldn't. As her back leg touched the ground she felt a sharp pain. She cursed to herself as she lost her balance and fell forward. She felt dizzy for a few seconds before she regained her focus. Scootaloo knew this pain. She had felt it a few times before. The most prominent being falling from a high cloud when she was 8 years old. She had broken her leg. This was not the time for this. She had to do whatever it took to find Sweetie and she couldn't chase her on a broken leg. She had to fly after her. Now Scootaloo had just turned 14 and was beginning to be able to fly. She had found out that she was just a late bloomer and if she worked hard she would be flying normally within a few months. She mustered up all of her strength and took off.
She hovered through the town trying her best to keep afloat. This was getting pretty ridiculous. She had been chasing Sweetie Belle all day since lunch, and the setting sun over the horizon indicated it had been several hours since the tension filled moment at the restaurant. "Why, just why?" Scootaloo thought to herself. Out of all the bad luck and all of the worst things that could have happened they all did. She was sure Sweetie Belle was avoiding her because of the kiss but still doubt crept into her mind. Sweetie had been acting strange ever since she arrived at lunch, not just after the most awkward kiss in the world. She couldn't focus on that right now, she had to find Sweetie Belle and put an end to this damned chase.
Nighttime was quick approaching and Scootaloo had only about twenty minutes until it was too dark out to continue searching. She was getting desperate. She begun to search even the most obscure places. As the clock kept ticking Scootaloo just became more frantic. She sped as fast as possible trying to find any leads at all until she could take no more. She fought the exhaustion coming over her entire body until she could take no more. She landed in a dark alleyway in the corner of town. She laid back against a wall and took special care to put her broken leg into a comfortable position. She started into the dusk sky which was a pink and orange spectacle to behold. It was almost the same colors as her. Normally she would have admired such a beautiful sight but she was too upset to care. As she lowered her head and began to close her eyes she saw a dash of white at the end of the alleyway. It was Sweetie Belle. Scootaloo was excited she had finally found her. On top of that they were in an alley where Sweetie was cornered and had no magic left to escape. This was it, this was the pivotal moment. She desperately thought for the right words to say. It was pretty pointless anyway she was so exhausted she didn't even think she could speak. She mustered some strength and spoke. "Sw-Swee-Sweetie Belle" she choked out in between breaths. The pearl white unicorn slowly came out of her hiding place on the opposite end of the alley. She looked about as run down as Scootaloo did. She walked towards Scootaloo a little bit and stopped.
"Scoots." she said looking a mix of concerned and regretful. She noticed the orange pegasus was not in good shape. She had dirt in her coat, her mane was unkempt and drenched in sweat, worst of all was the leg bending the wrong way. "Oh dammit what did I do." she said. All lingering tension was forgotten as she wrapped her friend into a hug. "I'm so sorry. I didn't think you would get run down this bad." She pulled away and did her best to regain composure as Scootaloo sat up.
"Save it." Scootaloo said not wanting to hear an apology for something trivial when there were bigger things at hand. Sweetie Belle was surprised at her friends aggressiveness but couldn't blame her to much after the chase she had just put her through. "What led us here doesn't really matter anymore. We have to talk about this NOW." said Scootaloo with her annoyance apparent. Sweetie Belle sighed. Scootaloo was stronger tan her and she couldn't force her way past. She also had no magical energy and would hate to hurt her friend more than she already had. The great chase was over. Sweetie Belle would have to face Scootaloo right here and right now.
"Fine" Sweetie Belle said. Staring into her best friends eyes she took a deep breath and prepared for the most complicated talk in her life. "What happened at the restaurant today. Well I mean I know what happened but was that on purpose? If so why? What were you trying to do?" Sweetie Belle asked barraging Scootaloo with too many questions to answer at once.
"Damn Sweetie let me answer some of the questions." Scootaloo said. "I can't tell you what happened earlier if you don't give me the chance to speak. Let me start from the beginning. Well I can sum it up in one sentence. I love you Sweetie Belle. I do. I don't know of any possible other way to say it. I didn't realize it until recently but once I did it was obvious! The thing at the restaurant was a compete mistake, we just happened to lean into the food at the same time. I wasn't trying to do that. I was planning on telling you this today though. I didn't want it to come out like this but you gave me no choice! You broke my damned leg and almost killed me from exhaustion. You led me on a wild chase for basically no reason and it was one of the worst experiences of my life! You basically put me through hell! But I still love you, and that just proves it. You did all of this shit to me but I still love you, and I don't think i'll ever stop!
Sweetie Belle couldn't believe her ears. She was taken completely aback by this. She was literally in the most awkward spot of her life. Her best friend had just confessed her love? She didn't expect this at all. It was Scootaloo. Her best friend for her whole life. She had never looked at Scootaloo in a romantic way before. She was her best friend and it made no sense. She had felt something for a brief moment during that kiss but didn't know what it was. She was utterly confused.
"Scootaloo…. I can't believe this. How did this even happen? It's not important. I might have felt something during that kiss, but I don't know what it was. You're my best friend and I..I I don't even know what to feel. I just can't deal wight this right now. I'm sorry Scoots." Sweetie Belle rushed past Scootaloo out of the alleyway and out of sight. Scootaloo slumped back against a wall. She began to cry, and as the first tear fell the sun disappeared.
Author's Note
Hey guys after this long time of not releasing work and spending my time focusing on other projects. I now turned this into a romance story with tragedy and grimdark elements enjoy some fun and tragedy.
Scootaloo stayed in the alley that night. She had tried to get some sleep but knew that it wasn't possible with all of the thoughts swimming in her mind. She had tried to get up to go home but the emotions of the confrontation in the alley weighed her down. She had managed to lie in a somewhat comfortable position slumped against a wall. She had stopped trying to think about what had happened because it was too much. A perfect mix of disturbing thoughts and negative emotions. It had been dark for a while and it must have been past midnight, she had her first day of school tomorrow and really needed to get some sleep. No matter what she tried she couldn't get to sleep so she decided to sleep through class as she had for most of her life.
The night past about as slowly as possible. Scootaloo had been awake the whole time just thinking and staring at the brick wall in front of her. Sleep had eluded her so well she wasn't sure if she had even blinked, the funny thing was she didn't even feel tired. She stood up and checked the time. She wouldn't need to be at school for another two hours. She decided to take a walk through town. It would be nice knowing she wasn't chasing anybody this time. She stretched and slowly made her way down the road.
Scootaloo had been walking for around twenty minutes and was near the sports fields next to the town center. She saw teams having early morning practices as they usually did. Athletes ranging from little kids to full grown adults were catching, throwing, and kicking balls all of all types with their friends and coaches. Towards the left she saw her favorite multicolored mare Rainbow Dash flying through an obstacle course. Scootaloo was very embarrassed about the recent events in her life, however she desperately needed help figuring out what to do next. She looked at the ground, swallowed her pride, and slowly but surely walked towards the speeding mare.
As she approached Rainbow Dash the rainbow mare noticed her and came to a stop, halting her flying almost immediately in midair. "Hey Squirt. What's up? Watching your sister be as awesome as usual? Scootaloo rolled her eyes. She loved Rainbow Dash but even she occasionally got sick of her overconfident behavior. It's now or never Scootaloo thought. She gulped blew her mane out of her eyes and looked up to meet Rainbow Dash's gaze.
"I need some advice." she said quickly. "I've got this crush… kinda, I know it's stupid but I trust you and wondered if you have any ideas of what to do." she spoke this words in a rapid succession under her breath almost hoping that Rainbow Dash wouldn't understand it so she could bolt away and hide in her dark alley once again. Unfortunately for her, Rainbow Dash had excellent hearing and caught what the orange filly had said clear as day. Her face formed a mix between a smile of sympathy and a smirk of satisfaction. Rainbow Dash thought it was adorable that her sister had a crush on somepony. She thought it was especially adorable how embarrassed and flustered Scootaloo was about it. However she understood the embarrassment that could come with a crush. She herself had to deal with it herself several times throughout her life. She didn't even need to consider it, of course she was going to help her sister out.
"Alright kid, come with me. We have to make a plan." Her smirk got bigger as she grabbed Scootaloo and flew them away.
Scootaloo hopped on Rainbow Dash's back and she took off towards her cloud house in the sky. As they were flying Scootaloo had a great number of thoughts rushing through her head. She was more than happy that Rainbow Dash had agreed to help her with her crush. However the filly had worry in her heart too. Rainbow Dash didn't have any clue who it was that Scootaloo had a crush on. Rainbow Dash was dating Soarin and had been dating him since they were 17 years old (Them being 25 now). Scootaloo knew that Rainbow Dash and Soarin had very conservative political views which was a quite surprising fact considering their personalities almost completely conflicted that view in everyday. She knew that Rainbow Dash was her sister and that she truly cared for her so she was less worried about her. Soarin however didn't really like her in the first place and if their views on her having a crush on Scootaloo having a crush on a pony of the same gender was negative she knew that Soarin would go out of his way just to make her miserable. These thoughts certainly concerned her but she was able to calm herself down. She knew that Rainbow Dash loved her, and would love her no matter what.
"You ok squirt?" Rainbow Dash asked as she noticed Scootaloo's expression mixed somewhere between worry and contemplation. Dash had only noticed her sister looking odd when she had slowed down in order to let some birds pass. Scootaloo jolted out of her worried daydream to face her sister and mentor. Scootaloo nodded her head and gave a half confident smile to Rainbow Dash. Rainbow Dash raised her eyebrow and looked at her sister quizzically, but nonetheless Rainbow dash turned her head back in front of her and began to fly once more. Scootaloo was relieved that Rainbow Dash had not pushed any further about anything. She probably thought that it was just jitters about her crush or about the fact she had told somepony about her crush. Scootaloo looked upwards at the sky. It was clearer than she had ever seen it not a cloud anywhere in sight. The sun was shining through clearly with it's warm inviting light. It wasn't too bright or blinding as it usually was. It perfectly complimented the shade of blue that graced the sky. It was the most beautiful day she had ever seen. She suddenly felt very calm and the worrying and fretting she had been doing seemed unimportant and trivial. She felt as though it was all going to be ok.
Rainbow Dash's cloud house began to materialize in the distance as they came close to reaching their desired destination. Scootaloo's worry began to reappear but once again she was equally calmed by the beautiful blue sky. Her half and half outlook greatly confused her and made her worry start to take over as the dominant emotion once again. She wouldn't have any time to think about it however as she looked up and saw Rainbow Dash and Soarin's house mere seconds away. They came to a soft landing in the front yard. Scootaloo hopped off rainbow's back onto the soft clouds. Scootaloo had always liked the feeling of clouds. She marveled at something that could be so wonderfully soft but at the same time hold so much water and support the weight of ponies. She reveled in the soft feeling for a few moments before she trotted behind Rainbow Dash to the front steps of the home. Scootaloo took a deep breath as Rainbow Dash took the house keys out of her bag and thrusted them into the gaping hole of the doorknob. She swallowed her fear as she heard the lock click, and the door swung open in front of her.
Rainbow Dash and Scootaloo walked into the cloud house. It looked pretty much like an ordinary house, well except for the fact almost everything was made out of clouds. Passing through the front door they arrived in the front hallway. The sides of the floor were covered in various footwear and the walls were adorned with a few pictures here and there, rejects from other parts of the house that were covered in quite a bit of dust. They were pictures of some extended family and one of Rainbow Dash in what looked like her teen years. The hallway was quite short in curved slightly to the left about halfway through it. It had two doors right before the curve, one to the left and one to the right, straight across from each other. At the end of the hallway was another door, this door led to the main room of the house. Rainbow went through the door at the end of the hallway that led to the main room.
The main room of the house was a moderate size. It was carpeted with a flower pattern that always had reminded Scootaloo of a garden she had saw once on a field trip, she more often wondered however, about how they managed to carpet clouds. She had learned not to question it though, as clouds had done some weird and interesting things in her lifetime. There was a window on the left of the room that was radiating in sunlight from outside. There were a bunch of pictures on the right wall of the room. Mostly pictures of Rainbow Dash with Soarin. They looked so happy in every one. The front of the room had some paintings on it as well as a mirror. The left wall had pictures of family and the two ponies from their childhoods and adolescent years. The room was furnished by a dark green couch on the left wall in front of a radiator ledge where there was an odd storage area. They often kept things such as ornaments or craft supplies back there. The back wall had a chair in-between two doors. The front wall housed a redwood bench, handcrafted by Soarin from a fallen tree he found while flying along the countryside.
The smaller seating room was on the opening along the back wall. It was also accessible through the door on the left of he hallway when you come in. It had just clouds as the floor with a small rug towards the left for some reason. It also had a couch although this one was dark brown. Across from the couch on the opposite wall there was a normal sized television. The walls had some art on them although no pictures and not nearly as much wall space was covered compared to the main room. A ceiling fan hung from the middle of the room. The left wall had two wooden tables. They had various items on them. Stuff that didn't have a place anywhere else. The back wall had window behind the couch. Scootaloo never understood the need for windows in a house like this. I mean sure it was an interesting view point of looking at the sky and the sun or the stars but you could see those things in the same quality form the ground. Other than seeing an occasional bird fly by or something of that nature. Having any windows in a house so many feet above the ground is an absolute waste of space. Rainbow Dash always sad it helped her house have a better overall aesthetic, whatever that meant.
The second door that went off of the larger seating room was on your right as soon as you came in. It was the office space of the house. Although at this point using it as an office would have been virtually impossible. It was probably a fairly sized room but you couldn't tell anymore. It was covered inch by inch which junk, paper, and everything else under the sun. It had a desk as it was originally used as an office area. The drawers were stuffed to the brim with paperwork. It was all a huge mess that was nearly impossible to even circumnavigate. If you had to go in there to get something it would be one hell of a ride. Even if you knew were it was you would trip and fall twenty times before reaching the right part of the room. Scootaloo loved it though. No one ever went in there so even if it was a nightmare. She could always be alone with her thoughts if she needed to. It had helped her through some rough times. Something about being alone in that room was just… calming to her. She probably would never know why.
The door in front of the hallway door went into the kitchen. It had a kitchen table in the middle that Soarin had made himself, as he did with almost all of the wooden furniture in the house. It had a tablecloth that Scootaloo had got them for Rainbow Dash's birthday last year. Her and Sweetiebelle had teamed up to knit it. It had taken them a very long time but Rainbow Dash loved it which made it worth the time completely. It had a shelf on the front wall with a lot of fancy dishes and some more pictures. It also had a closet filled with linens. The right side had a fridge adorned with magnets that had been given as gifts that were holding more pictures. They had an awful lot of pictures. There were windows along the left wall of the kitchen. Once again the windows were fairly pointless but it was always nice to see the sunlight radiating through the windows, shining beautifully off the the glass bowls on the table. It made the colors of the glass and the expert craftsmanship put into them very apparent. It was always a nice sight.
The first door on the right when you came into the kitchen led to Scootaloo's room. It was a normal room. Not exactly typical of a teenage girl but Scootaloo is very tomboyish anyway. It was pretty messy but she knew where everything was. Something Rainbow Dash had never understood. Scootaloo tried to explain that she just knew. Not for any one reason, just because she knew where to find her things. Among her things were a collection of CD's, some magazines, some miscellaneous electronics. Her wall was adorned with band posters and along the right wall was her bed. On the left side there was her closet with some clothes and a few other things. Her desk was on the left o the room. She wrote things there. She had always wanted to be an author and she loved creative writing. It had always been her best skill in school and she tried it out of school and loved it. She also sorted her things out there sometimes. Her back wall had a window. Her front wall had her television on it. She was into video games and played them there. Her CD player was also on that wall. She loved music more than anything, it also really spoke to her. She liked her room. Even better than the office.
The second door on the right of the kitchen was a pantry. It held food as you would have probably guessed. It was a very small room a bit long but very thin. One side was just an empty wall painted a sickish off white color. They all hated it but never took the time to repaint it. It had a trash can on the middle of it. The left side of the room had a counter with a marble countertop. It had a lot of cabinets that were filled with assorted food and cooking ingredients. Rainbow Dash loved to cook. The end of the room had a oddly shaped and operated window above a sink that had always been kind of faulty. It had cabinets under it that housed a lot of the houses cleaning supplies as well as another set of cabinets that held the medication of the family. Scootaloo took some medication for some hyperactivity thing she had been diagnosed with a few years back. She didn't know much about Rainbow Dash or Soarin's medications.
The last door on the right of the kitchen was Rainbow Dash and Soarin's bedroom. It was a fairly normal bedroom and not much about it stood out to Scootaloo or anyone really. It had a bed that was an adequate size for two adult ponies, a window to the left of the room and one to the front of the room. A shelf of clothes to the right. A small end table to the right of the bed, and another shelf for some other possessions of theirs. on the back wall. The right side of the room had a small closet where Soarin and Rainbow dash kept their wonderbolts uniforms as well as a few other things of no interest. It was a fairly boring room.
There was another closet off of the kitchen that was Rainbow Dash's personal closet. No one was really sure why she needed a closet of her own. Or why the closet had a window as well. It had most of her clothes in it. There was plenty of space on the shelves in her and Soarin's bedroom but no matter what the reasoning Rainbow Dash still insisted that having her own closet was very important to her. She kept some jewelry in there as well. She also kept some personal belongings of hers in there. It was pointless in everyones eyes except for hers. Scootaloo and Soarin had learned to stop poking at the issue as it was clear Rainbow Dash wouldn't budge for any reason at all. There was also a bathroom. It was a very standard bathroom, nothing special to note.
"Hey where's Soarin? He's usually home by this time isn't he? asked Scootaloo looking up at Rainbow Dash in a confused way.
"He got a promotion today. He's out at the bar with the team, he should be home later. I've got some house work to do why don't you go hang out in your room for awhile? said Rainbow Dash.
"Alright" Scootaloo said as she headed into her room and flopped down on her bed. Soarin was going to be coming home soon. The moment of truth was coming for her. Would her family accept her for who she was? Or would she be forced out of house and home.
It had been about two hours since the moment Scootaloo opened up to Rainbow Dash. Every second since that moment had been an emotional roller coaster. Between feeling relief at having the secret of her crush of of her chest and the crippling fear about revealing the identity of her crush, she was feeling about a hundred other things. Ever since Scootaloo had lay down on her bed she had been contemplating when to tell them and how to tell them. She knew that Rainbow Dash and Soarin loved her but she didn't know if they could accept her for something they seemed to be politically and morally against. Scootaloo knew she was most likely over thinking the entire situation. Even if Rainbow Dash and Soarin were specifically against gays they had never shown it, and if that turned out to be the case maybe having someone close to them such as Scootaloo admit this to them, they would become more accepting or at least more positively aware of the issue. If they couldn't accept her however, what was she to do? She didn't even want to think about how her life would go if Rainbow Dash and Soarin hated her for telling them this. It could end badly in a number of ways. She began to think about those ways but stopped herself. "No Scootaloo, hold it together." she told herself. "You don't want to over think this, so don't. What's going to happen is going to happen, It isn't your fault either way." She put her hooves over her eyes and leaned back, trying to relax.
About twenty minutes later she thought she heard something outside. Followed by definitely hearing the front door open. Soarin had come home from the bar. She heard him and Rainbow Dash conversing in the main room of the house. It was too muffled to hear the specific contents of their conversation and she couldn't really pick up bits and pieces like she usually could. She blamed this on her being tired and her current mental state. She wasn't sure if Rainbow Dash and Soarin were going to be busy or not but she had to get this off of her chest as quickly as possible. She stretched out and stood up. She walked up to the door of her room, took a breath, thought to herself "Here goes nothing.", and opened her door. She walked out of her room and saw that Rainbow Dash and Soarin were just sitting in the main room doing nothing. She entered the room and sat across from the two. It looked like Soarin was a lot more drunk than expected. That had a serious chance to derail her plans. She almost chickened out of the whole idea before reminding herself that it was now or never. She took a few deep breaths and looked Rainbow Dash in the eyes.
"Guys I need to tell you something kind of important.. Well not kind of important really important, sort of, almost, maybe, depending on how you view what I say, or how accepting you are of what I say, i'm rambling sorry i'll just stop talking now." Scootaloo bursted out these words in a string of nervous tension. Rainbow Dash and Soarin both looked pretty confused.
"I didn't pick up like, any of that squirt." said Rainbow Dash
"Yeah sorry Scoots, you said that a little fast" said Soarin.
"The gist of it was that I needed to tell you guys something really important and I don't know exactly how you're going to take it. So i'd like to get it over with as quick as possible." said Scootaloo more slowly this time making sure Rainbow Dash and Soarin would be able to understand her this time.
"I'm sure we'll take it just fine" Rainbow Dash said.
"As long as you're not gay i'm happy." said Soarin with a chuckle. Rainbow gave a weak not so sincere chuckle back because Rainbow Dash had noticed Scootaloo's ears flop down and her head hang low as soon as Soarin had made it clear that he was not in support. Scootaloo gave no attempt at a chuckle. Soarin looked at Scootaloo and noticed her ashamed expression and depressing facial expression. "Wait.. no, you don't actually mean, no.. no…. oh no…. NO! NO! NO!" Soarin screamed bolting up and knocking over a table. "YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME! THE ONE THING! THE ONE THING I DON'T AND WILL NEVER APPROVE OF!" Soarin rushed into Scootaloo's room and Scootaloo and Rainbow Dash could hear shuffling noises.
Rainbow Dash just sat in silence looking at Scootaloo who now had a few tears running down her face, Rainbow Dash found a few tears welling up in her eyes as well. She hated the scene in front of her. She and her little sister were known to be two quite tough ponies. Neither of them were bothered by much, or at least no one ever saw if they were bothered by something. Now here they were. The two toughest ponies in ponyville crying on the floor. "I'm so sorry Scootaloo. I didn't know this was what you were going to say, I would've warned you about him, I'm so sorry." she said trying unsuccessfully to choke back sobs. Scootaloo sat silently. She didn't know what to think. It seemed as if Rainbow Dash at least accepted her. She also hated that she was crying. She felt embarrassed crying in front of Rainbow Dash, even if she was crying to. Even more she hated that her crying would let Soarin know that he had gotten to her, gotten to them. Her sadness quickly turned into rage. She felt everything all at once, she couldn't take being hurt like this. Cast out like this, having the pony closest to her hurt, both through no fault of there own. It was pure rage, white hot, burning hotter than Celestia's sun. She knew she couldn't act on it however, and that hurt even more.
Soarin reappeared into the main room holding a bulging suitcase full of Scootaloo's possessions. "Alright now you little twerp, it's time to get the hell out of my house!" said Soarin in a bigoted rage. Rainbow Dash looked up in shock at Soarin. This was not the loving caring pony she knew. This was someone else entirely, someone she didn't love. Scootaloo meanwhile was terrified as the older and strong stallion had grabbed her tightly and was carrying her towards the door. Scootaloo's self control burst at that moment as she used all of her strength to kick Soarin in the side as hard as she could. It hurt Soarin but wasn't close to enough to get him to lose his grip. "Why you little!" he growled as he slapped Scootaloo in the face repeatedly.
"Hey! Don't touch her!" Rainbow Dash screamed as she flew over to Soarin kicking him in the face at full force. He stumbled back but didn't lose his grip on Scootaloo. Soarin looked up, now with pure hatred in his eyes. "You too! You support her! I don't even know you anymore Rainbow Dash! I don't think I even love you anymore!" He screamed out at her as he hit her with his full strength. Rainbow Dash looked up at Soarin. Their eyes met, his hatred and her hurt, there was no longer any trace of love. "That's it you no good scum!" Soarin had had enough and dragged Scootaloo out to the front porch of their cloud house. "I seem to remember that you can't fly Scootaloo, that's too bad, maybe you'll die from the fall and we'll be rid of another impure soul! Scootaloo's eyes widened in horror as she realized exactly what Soarin was up to. She screamed for help and cried loudly. She didn't care anymore, she just wanted to wake up from this nightmare. They reached the edge of the cloud house's front yard. Scootaloo tried to fight back, tried to get away, but her efforts were wasted as Soarin flew up and dropped her down towards the ground below.
Rainbow Dash few by Soarin at lightning speed. She flew to the edge of the yard and then did a 90 degree turn down, dive bombing towards the ground as quick as her wings would let her. She saw the orange and purple blur falling a good distance away from her. Rainbow Dash's love for Scootaloo and newfound hate for Soarin fueled her to push herself farther than ever and she flew towards Scootaloo at an increased speed. She was catching up to Scootaloo now, it was now a race. Would she be able to reach Scootaloo before the ground did? It didn't look good. Scootaloo was so scared she had lost all sense and emotion she was just mass falling from the sky. She heard a noise above her and willed herself to look up. When she saw the rainbow blur her hope was slightly restored. She was almost there, almost, almost. Rainbow dash grabbed Scootaloo right before she hit the ground, Rainbow Dash made a sharp turn upwards and she was now flying at breakneck speed parallel to the ground. Then she saw a tree coming. She tried to slow down but it was useless. She threw Scootaloo towards the river nearby and braced for impact.

Chapter 10 - Welcome To The Hospital
Scootaloo was still in shock. The events of the last hour played over and over in her mind. It still didn't seem real to her. She loved Soarin, no she used to love Soarin. He was the closest thing to a father figure she had ever had. She had never knew that such a simple thing could've caused him to break, that such a simple thing could've drove him to make the two people he loved most hate him. Scootaloo had all these thoughts and more running through her mind. She would've taken a deep breath to calm herself down but she couldn't, because she was at the bottom of a lake. She couldn't fly but luckily she knew how to swim. She thrust powerfully with her hooves as she tried to surface as quickly as possible. She reached the surface moments later. She gasped for air and finally was able to get a breath in. She took a few deep breaths as she got used to being back above the surface. Scootaloo once again realized the events of a few moments ago and frantically looked around for Rainbow Dash, she wished she hadn't.
She saw the tree that Rainbow Dash had crashed into, it had a profound blood stain on it, it was a fresh bloodstain, it definitely belonged to Rainbow Dash. She saw a circle of worried looking ponies. She saw an white and red vehicle parked next to the tree, it was an ambulance. Sh saw two emergency response ponies dressed in uniform carrying a stretcher and talking in panicked voices to each other, they seemed to be giving each other instructions. The worst however came last. Laying on the stretcher, in a bloody deformed mess was Rainbow Dash. Scootaloo furiously swam across the lake trying to get to her sister. She felt every emotion at once, love for Rainbow Dash, hate for Soarin, hate for herself. Scootaloo finally made it to the edge of the lake, she pulled herself up onto the shore and broke into a dead sprint towards Rainbow Dash. Scootaloo got to the ambulance just as the medical ponies shut the back door. "Hey! Hey, let me in!, hey you! Listen to me!" Scootaloo shouted and pounded on the back of the ambulance with gusto.
The medical ponies opened the back door and looked at Scootaloo. "What do you want kid we've got a dying pony here, you're costing a life!" said one of them obviously annoyed with the orange pegasus.
"That's my sister in there! Let me in!" Scootaloo screamed at the medical ponies.
"No way kid no one is allowed in here!" said the other medical pony.
"But she's my sister" Scootaloo screamed trying to push past the medical ponies with all of her strength.
"Then visit her at the hospital kid" said the first medical pony throwing Scootaloo back out into the road, slammed the door shut, and drove away.
Scootaloo was pissed. She had to think of a way to get to the hospital as soon as possible. Scootaloo wanted to run there as it could get her there the quickest. Then she remembered her scooter. She saw the suitcase that Soarin had so "thoughtfully" packed for her. Scootaloo rushed over to it and flung the medium sized blue suitcase open. It wasn't there. In fact mostly anything she cared about wasn't there. All Soarin had packed was useless miscellaneous items and some clothes that didn't even fit her too well. Scootaloo felt another spike of rage at Soarin but quickly realized that it wouldn't be productive in getting her important possessions back. She needed a plan to get her things back, but it wasn't important right now. She had no choice but to buckle down and run like hell.
Scootaloo was seeing spots as she saw the hospital coming up in the distance at long last. She felt like her lungs were going to collapse and her legs were on fire, but she didn't care, she didn't care at all, she was going to get to Rainbow Dash. Five hundred feet, four hundred feet, the doors to the hospital were getting closer and closer. Three hundred feet, two hundred feet, one hundred feet, just a little more to go. Scootaloo burst through the hospital doors at full speed with enough to force to possibly take off the hinges. She didn't care about rules, regulations any f that, she contemplated going o the desk but instead starting speeding towards the rooms. She began to see more and more black, that for some reason only willed her to go faster. Her heart was pounding in her ears as she searched for a clue to where her sister was, and that was all she remembered before she woke up.
She snapped awake in shock. She looked around and saw plain white walls shining around her, she looked down to find herself dressed in a hospital gown. She was pissed, she was this close to finding Rainbow Dash and she had to pass out! Scootaloo cursed herself, if something were to happen to Rainbow Dash she would never forgive herself for pushing that hrs, for sabotaging her chance to see Rainbow Dash at the last moment. However she took a breath and told herself to calm down. It was Rainbow Dash after all, and Scootaloo knew that Rainbow Dash would always pull through. No matter how tough the situation. Meanwhile she had to figure out what to do with the problem on hand. She was trapped in a hospital bed, she noticed that she has an IV in her arm, She really wore herself out running.
She decided to call for a nurse. Scootaloo pressed the button that they have in hospitals that call nurses. A nurse came into the room. "Oh your finally awake!" the nurse said cheerfully. "Oh that's just great, just great. Now ok dear you're probably confused about how you ended up here so i'll give you the short version. You burst in here faster than a rocket but showed all the signs of exhaustion. You're exhaustion culminated while you were zipping down one of the hallways and you passed out, we got you in here put you on some medicine and you seem to be doing just fine. Although if it's not too much trouble to ask why were you rushing through here like that?" asked the nurse.
"My sister is here, her boyfriend-slash-possible ex threw me off a cloud. I may be a pegasus but I can't fly. She got hurt saving me" said Scootaloo.
"Oh no. I'll call the police to collect a statement, for now we're going to keep you here overnight for observation but you should be just fine" said the nurse keeping the same cheery tone she had through all of the exchange.
"Can I at least see my sister?" asked Scootaloo pleadingly.
"What's your sisters name dear?"
"Rainbow Dash"
The nose froze and frowned as she remembered that patient. Coming into the hospital a mess of blood and bones. She looked at Scootaloo trying to make herself sound cheery but failed "I don't think that's such a good idea" she said "Well goodnight dear!" the nurse said walking out of the room quickly.
Scootaloo let out a half groan half scream. She had no idea of the condition of her sister and wouldn't be able to find out. That is, unless she found another way to get to Rainbow Dash.
Chapter 11 - Need To Find You
Scootaloo laid back on her hospital bed and groaned. That was that, she was stuck here for the night, and having had experience with hospital staff before, she knew she would end up being there longer. That on top of the fact that Rainbow Dash wasn't doing well, or most likely wasn't but it was the only explanation for the way the nurse reacted to hearing her name. She stared up at the ceiling and reminisced on all of her memories with the rainbow Pegasus, she remembered the time at Rainbow Falls when she and Rainbow Dash bonded for the first time, she remembered the first flying lesson years in the past and even though she still couldn't fly it brought back many fun and fond memories in her mind. Scootaloo sighed as she remembered one particular memory of Rainbow Dash defending her against a mean spirited bully from her school, tears welled up in her eyes as she realized how bad Dash had looked when she last saw her, something snapped internally in Scootaloo and she decided she had to go find out if Dash would be ok, she had to do this.
Scootaloo might have underestimated what her passing out had done to her, her vision went blurry and her head spun at a high speed just from trying to pull herself up on her hooves. "Pull yourself together!" she practically screamed in her head as she used all of her strength to heave herself onto her hooves and she was finally standing on the cold hospital floor. Her legs trembled under her and threatened to give out and her head was spinning again, but she didn't care, with a grunt of anger and determination she slowly began to make her way towards the door, she was about to burst through the door when she remembered she would have to be very sneaky about this. She slowly cracked the door open and peered her head around the corner slowly, the hallway was dark and desolate, perfect for what she had in mind.
She slipped out of her room and into the dark hallway of the hospital. The wing she was in had a reception desk around the corner from where her room was, the other end of the hallway was a double doorway into another wing of hallways. Scootaloo figured that she would be able to find where Rainbow Dash was by looking through the files of the desk. She slinked silently down the hallway and peeked around the corner, she was utterly distraught however to see bright lights ponies sitting in the chairs and two people sitting behind the reception desk. It wouldn't work, she couldn't realistically find out information when ponies were bustling around the area. She grunted in frustration and turned back towards the hall. She was going to have to take that set of double doors and work her way through the hospital. It wasn't ideal, it wasn't convenient, and considering the gigantic size of the hospital it would be nearly impossible to locate one patient in this maze of a place, but she didn't care at all. Rainbow Dash was her sister and she loved her, no matter what she had to find her, she wouldn't let anything happen without seeing her first.
Scootaloo saw a clock on the wall that read 11:18 pm, she would only have until the early morning until the nurses would check on her again, she needed to move quickly if she wanted a chance at finding her sister, she realized she had reached the double doors leading to the rest of the hospital, she had so much to look through, so she needed to go, she took a deep breath, and pushed through the doors.
