Chapters My stomach pleads for food in the form of a low growl. I place my hoof on my stomach and frown. I haven't eaten in days. I need a new town and fast if I want to stay alive. I continue my trek through the forest I entered days prior, dodging low branches and thorns as i go.
"I've been walking for about 5 hours now...right? No....maybe it was 6.....4? that's not right...Grr! This stupid forest is messing with my head again!" I mumble to myself as i jump a fallen tree. Just as I land back on the ground, a loud growl emanates from behind me causing me to freeze in my tracks.
I slowly turn around, expecting a predator, only to find another pony. We both just stared at each other with baited breaths, waiting for the other to make a move.
Out of nowhere, the pony before, a unicorn with a velvet colored coat and a main that seems to be a very dark blue with a single purple and pink strip running down the side, gasps and steps closer to me. "Oh my gosh! Are you alright?!" She asks.
I take a step back from the unicorn, but offer no reply. The pony freezes before me with a look of shock evident on her face.
"A-are you....scared of me?" She whispers. I, once again, opt to stay silent and take another step back. The unicorn sees this and steps forward. "Do not fear young one. I promise not to hurt you." She says with a maternal tone as she starts walking towards me at a slow, steady pace. I turn and bolt at the motion, swerving left and right, darting under low branches, vaulting over dead trees that have long since fallen, and jumping holes and brush.
The unicorn must be determined because she was right behind me the entire time. "Wait! Please stop running!" She calls. I simply dart right and out from a tree line. Only to come to one of the most dread inducing sights I know.
I'm surrounded by water.
The unicorn jumps from the foliage and glares at me. "Well that was uncalled for! No wonder you look filthy if THAT'S what you do every day!" She nags. I face her and lower my head to the ground and flare my wings in an attempt to make myself look intimidating.
The mare before me seems utterly baffled by this act and slowly banters towards me once more. "Are you trying to scare me off? Why would you wanna do that?!" She mumbles although more to herself rather than anyone specifically
"Do not follow me. Do not look for me. Forget that you ever saw me." I said before turning and bolting once more towards the water of the small lake that surrounds me. I hear the unicorn calling for me to stop, but i ignore her all the same. Just as I get within 5 feet of the water, it turns to ice. I run across the lake as it freezes in front of me and soon reach the other side. I glance back to the unicorn and see her with a completely baffled and shocked expression on her face.
I run into the foliage once more, but stay to the outside so that i can watch the mare. She looks about, but soon lowers her head and walks away. I follow her from a distance, but don't let her know I am there. After a good 20-30 minute walk, we arrive at a path. The path leads out of the foliage and into what seems to be a small town. As I walk, I notice a small junk yard to my right about 30 meters from the tree line of the forest and mentally decide to stay there for the night.
The unicorn glances back to the forest as she leaves, but doesn't stop. Once she is out of sight, I gallop to the junk yard and start looking for a decent place to sleep tonight. This is the first night in my new home, so I'd best make it good.
~~~~~Twilight's Perspective~~~~~
I walk back down the roads of the familiar town I call home while pondering what I saw in the forest. "Who was that pony?" I thought to myself. "Could he have been lost? Maybe I should have looked for him! But he did say he didn't want to be found. Maybe I should talk to the girls? But wait, he also said to just forget him...Grr! Stupid ominous mystery colt!" I thought.
I walked into the Golden Oaks Library, the place I call home, and spot my brother-like assistant Spike placing books on the shelves. "Heya twilight! How'd it go?" He asked
"Strange... Spike. I need you to take a letter." I said.
Spike, a baby dragon with purple scales and a green underbelly, hopped to his feet and pulled a quill and parchment from a drawer. "Got it!" he said with a smile.
I cleared my throat before speaking. "Dear Princess Celestia. I am writing to inform you of what happened to me during one of my trips into the Everfree Forest for some herbs I needed for an experiment. I was walking back to town when I spotted a young Pegasus colt with a grey-ish white coat and a mane that looked as if it was...well, ethereal. Almost like that of your's and Princess Luna's. Isn't that queer? That's not even the strange part! The strange part is that when I cornered him near a lake, he told me to forget him and to not look for him before running across the lake! It was almost as if the lake it's self was creating a path for him as he ran over the top of the water as it turned to ice before him! I've never seen anything like it before! I don't know if he's a threat or not yet, but I felt I should inform you anyways. Your faithful student, Twilight Sparkle. Ok Spike! You can send it now." I said as i turned to the young drake.
Spike nodded and waddled to a nearby window before blowing a plume of smoke out of it. Spike nodded and closed the window. "Done and done twilight! Anything else you need?" he asked.
"No thank you spike, but I think i'm going to take a nap now. I'm exhausted!" I said as I climbed the stairs to the second floor of the Library which acted as a loft. "You can close up early today spike. Good night." I said with a yawn as I opened the door to my bedroom.
I heard a quick cheer and a "Good night!" after losing sight of the young dragon and couldn't help but roll my eyes. I laid down in bed and covered myself up. All that remained poking out from the covers was my head as I closed my eyes and waited for sleep to take me.
But my mind had another plan. Thoughts and questions of the colt in the forest flashed through my mind like Rainbow Dash when she practices flying. I laid there and pondered the situation for a while before sleep finally took me into it's embrace and i fell into a peaceful slumber. All doubt vanishing as did my consciousness.
Hope you guys enjoyed the prologue for the new story! I do hope you guys will enjoy this story and such, but i want to warn you guys now. This story is NOT on a scheduled. Last time I tried to keep posting chapters on scheduled I procrastinated and ended up ruining the idea I had in mind. I don't want this to happen here, so I will be writing at my own leisure so that I don't feel like this is a chore rather than a hobby. I hope you understand and I just know you''ll enjoy what has yet to come!
Chapter 1 - A New Start for Broken Hearts
~~~Time Lapse: 1 Week~~~
"Maybe this time will be different? " I thought to myself as I crept through the shadows of the town I've come to know as PonyVille. "Maybe if I just ask someone they can help me... No. Not after last time...I cant... " I felt tears welling in my eyes as memories of that fateful day rushed to my mind's eye.
I pushed all thoughts away when I heard a voice.
"Hello? Anypony down here?" Said a bubbly voice. I stood frozen in fear with my make-shift saddle bag on my side.
"She's supposed to be out of town! What in Equestria is SHE doing here?! " I began to sweat like a rain cloud when i heard hoof steps descending the stairway. "Oh good god why me?! " I thought as my Conscious screamed for me to run.
Just as the pony reach the bottom of the stairs I leaped to a floor level cupboard and hid inside. I heard somepony walking just outside of the small door that shielded me from the pony that stood outside.
"Oh come out now! Auntie Pinkie always wins at hide and seek! No use in trying now!" She said. I felt my blood run cold as I heard the cupboard to my left open. "Not in here!" She said before closing the door once more. I heard hoof steps aproching and had to act quickly, so I put up an icy fog that filled the cupboard and when the pony opened the door, the entire room was full of a snow white fog, cloaking me as I charged through the open window I had entered not so long ago and bounding down the streets of the sleeping town.
~~~Time Lapse: 5 minutes~~~
I'd been running for a solid 5 minutes now and I was nearing my destination. As I approach the large trash pile known as Ponyville Dump, I sense something is off. It feels as if I'm being followed, but as I look back I see nopony. I shrug and continue to my dwelling inside the dump, completely oblivious to the shadow that stalked me from afar.
As I arrive at a small cave that I have cleaned as best as I could and hallowed out a bit, I notice a strange red stain on the ground near the entrance. I stop to examine the splotch of crimson, but hear a crash from inside my dwelling and rush inside.
What I saw I was not ready for.
Inside my hut was a pony. A particular purple pony who particularly perplexed me. I know her as the pony who chased me through the forest a while ago, but I've heard her name is "Twilight Sparkle".
Gathering the courage, I decided to figure out what was going on and why she was in my home. But first, I pull a dark black cloak on that conceals my snowy main and white coat down to the last detail and speak.
"What are you doing here, Twilight Sparkle?" I asked in a monotonous tone. She didn't respond, but rather just laid in the middle of my hobble next to a pile of spilled trinkets I had collected from around the town. "Miss Twilight?" I asked once more, only to receive silence once more.
I slowly approached the mare and quickly took notice of why she was staying quiet.
She had been harmed. Not a cut or scrape, but a stab wound to her right side just above her flank that was bleeding Horribly.
To say I was shell shocked was an understatement. I stood completely frozen in fear. I quickly regained my bearings as I made my way to the wounded pony. She seemed to have passed out, but was still alive. She would make it.
I gave a sigh as I found that I could save her.
I lowered my hooves to her wounded side and pushed roughly on the laceration. I grunted as I felt a bitter cold steadily grow in my stomach. It felt as if I were being torn apart from the inside out, and boy was it painful. I heard the mare beneath me gasp as her eyes shot open and she jumped to her feet. She looked around frantically before noticing me at her feet with a scar on my right side, just above my flank.
Her jaw dropped as she looked at me awestruck. "I-it's you!" She said quietly. I managed a weak chuckle at this and a small, strained smile.
"Miss me?" I said just before losing consciousness and falling to the floor with a thud.
~~~A Few Days Later...~~~
I slowly regained my senses as I came to, my head spinning as I strained to lift my body from the silky embrace of a bed. I opened my eyes as I entered a sitting position to take in my surroundings.
I am in a small room with nothing more than a bed, a few cupboards, an IV machine, a heart beat monitor, and other machines along with a small red sofa that was currently occupied by a sleeping Twilight. I looked back towards the door to what I now deduced as a hospital ro- wait...Twilight?!
I shot my gaze towards the sleeping mare, curious as to why she's here, only to see her stir from her nap. She rose from the sofa and rubbed a weary hoof across her eye in attempt to wake herself up, cast me a glance, then laid her head back down for more rest.
The room was silent for a moment before...
*GASP!* "Ohmygoshyourawake!IthoughtyouwereagonerwhenyoupassedoutandIthoughtIwastheonetoblamesoIbroughtyouhereandIdidntmeantogosnoopingthroughyourthingsIpromise!Iwasjustcuriousastowhytherewasacaveatthedump!Ireallyhopeyoucan-" The mare spoke in quick sucession before I shoved a hoof into her muzzle and made a "Shush" sound to let her know to be quiet. She nodded and I removed my hoof.
"I cant believe your finally awake! I have SO many questions!" She squee'd as I started to stand from the bed.
"Nope." I said stoically as I retrieved my bag from a nearby stool.
"No? Are you kidding me?! I carried you all the way to the hospital and that's it? No?!" She fumed.
I simply shrugged my wings and started walking towards the door. "In all fairness I did save YOUR life, so technically we're even now sparkles." I said as I reach for the door, only to have it lock itself. I sigh and turn towards the angry mare.
"I'm sorry, but you cant leave. I've already alerted the princess of your arrival and she should be here any moment. She gave me specific orders to keep you here, and that is what I intend to do." She spoke in a "Matter of factly" tone.
"You speak as if you know me sparkles." I say with a small smirk. "I'm not like some regular Pegasus. In case you haven't noticed, I am not just a normal pony at all." I say as i start drawing a small symbol on the ground with a piece ice from my mane.
"Then what are you?" She said with a curious expression. I smirked and looked her straight in the eyes.
"I'm a storm baby." I said as I smashed my hoof down onto the symbol, causing a harsh flurry to storm the room and lift me from the ground. The door burst open and the snow engulfed my body quickly, forming a sort of armor. The snow hardened into a metal like material and I smashed the wall. "Later sparkles~!" I shout as I trot through the streets of the now fleeing ponies of Ponyville. All the while a stunned twilight and enraged princess stared at me from the hospital.
"Guards! After that fool!" The princess commanded. A squad of pegisi soon tailed me through the town, occasionally throwing small heat-bombs that singe through my armor and numb my body with direct contact.
"Agh!" I cried out as a heat pellet drills me in the chest. I feel my body numbing quickly and struggle to continue my charge to the forest.
After a few more seconds, it was clear I was going to lose, so I did a clever trick. In a split second all of the snow and ice like metal of my armor turned to a strong fog that covered the streets of ponyville. I smoke screened the entire town and charged to a nearby shrub to hide until the effects of the pellet wear off. I felt my body fall into the familiar embrace of unconsciousness, however just as I start to black out I see a figure tower over me, its features blurry from my state as I finally succumb to the drowsy feeling taking my body from me.

Sorry for the late upload guys! I plan on getting a lot in this story and I kinda rushed this story a bit and wrote it in about 5-7 hours so I apologize for that, but I plan on having the next chapter out in like 1-2 weeks! :D Have fun with the wait~!
P.S- The cliffhanger is real? Who could it be that found Poor Snow Blitz and what shall become of our main antagonist in chapter 2? Who knows?.....besides me of course! >:D Mwahahaha!
Chapter 2 - She who protects.....
I wake up in a cozy bedroom. Pictures of the Wonder Bolts are plastered all around the room. The walls and floor are like clouds, so I can deduce that a Pegasus must have brought me to a cloud house. Just as the thought passes through my mind, the door opens, revealing a blue Pegasus with a spectrum of colors as her mane. She stands about twice the size of myself, similar to how twilight did, and carries a soft smile with her.
"Hey there squirt. How ya feelin?" She asks. It almost sounds as if she genuinely cares about me....
That can't be right. No one could like something like me....
"Who are you and what do you want?" I ask in a tone as cold as the night.
"Well someone is a bit grumpy after I saved his flank from the streets. My name is Rainbow Dash. Fastest flier in Equestria! Your currently in my could house because the guards were looking for some criminal and I didn't wanna see you get squashed, so I bought you here." She said.
"Well thanks, but I have to go." I said SAMs I stood and started walking to the door, only to be blocked by a wing.
"Sorry sport. Your in no condition to fly." She motions to your wing which is bandaged with a dull throb of pain occasionally shooting through the appendage. "You can bunk with me for a while though. Take my room and I'll sleep on the couch." She states, clearly not willing to take no as an awnser.
I sigh and walk out the door and to a window down a small hallway. "Fine. I'll stay here, but if you see celestia or a unicorn named twilight sparkle, I was NEVER here. Got it?" You ask a you glare at her. She nods and your expression softens a bit. "Good. So how's about we start this over? My name is Snow Blitz, and I'm not your average Pegasus." I say as I extend my hoof to her.
She smiles and shakes my hoof. "Pleasure to meat you blitz. Though, if you don't mind me asking, why is the princess looking for a colt?" She asks. I open my mouth to ask what she means, but she beats me to the punch. "The princess was looking for someone, and you don't wanna be found by her or twilight, so talk." She says with a stern look taking hold on her face.
I sigh. "Celestia wants to keep me locked in that god forsaken castle all day, when I want to actually live my life. She thinks that just because I'm only seven years old, that I'm super fragile and that the slightest touch will corrupt me or something." I say, my voice growing harsh towards the end.
"Why does she want to keep you in the castle though? All colts and fillies meet other ponies at your age." She asks, cocking her head to the side in confusion. "What's so special about you?"
"You right. Most colts and fillies do meet other people at my age, some even younger. But celestia wants to keep her child safe by not letting him leave e castle for any reason. Even to play with other children. " I say.
I watch the Pegasus adopt a bewildered look as the gears turn in her head. After a moment she gasps and stars at me with wide eyes.
"YOUR THE PRINCESS'S CHILD!?! She shouts. You nod and she stares for a moment before asking something else. "How long have you been running from her than?" She asks.
"Um....I think it's been nine.....ten....maybe twenty-six months? Give or take a few." Her jaw drops at your response and I sigh. "its gonna be a looooong night... I think to myself.
---time lapse: 1 hour---
"So let me get this straight." Your rainbow maned hostess says. "Your some sort of "cursed elemental" thing that has the power to control the cold and your forced to live forever? That sound AWSOME!" She exclaimed, her face scrunching up and her hooves going to her cheeks. "What could you hate about that?!" She questioned.
I snorted and roles my eyes. "What isn't? Think about it. I'm a freak who lives forever. I have to watch those who get close to me die and that's only IF they don't run when they find out about my powers, which might I add is very rarely." The rainbow maned Pegasus looked down at the cloud floor in what appeared to be thought. "It's the soul reason I haven't ever really had a-" I started, only to be cut off by rainbow dash.
"Would you wanna stay here? With me?" She asked, looking me in the eyes with a pleading look.
My jaw dropped and my eyes grew to the size of dinner plates.
I stared at the the mare with widened eyes. "-family..." I finish. "W-why ask such a thing? I'm just some stranger that just so happened to be a freak in the form of a young colt." I asked suspiciously. If she was playing an angle with this, I would know. But......I couldn't see anything that would say she was.
She gave a scary mom glare, causing me to shrink in on myself. "Don't call yourself a freak first of all. Your not a freak, or a monster,for anything like that. Your different. And not in a bad way either." She smiles. "I mean come on! Who could say they could control the cold like it was a foal's toy? Only you!" She said, a smile on her face the entire time.
I felt something I haven't for a long time. It started in my chest. A warm fuzzy feeling that slowly spread through my body.
I smiled at the mare. "Okay. I'd love to stay."
Said mare grinned. "Perfect! I'll go order some takeout or something." She said. I raised an eyebrow at her, to which she cocked her head to the side slightly. "What? I can't cook to save my life, and I doubt you can, so Imma go order a pizza or something." She stated with a smirk as she cantered out of the room.
I smile and shale my head. "I can't believe this is happening again. And with her of all people." I thought as I began trotting to where the mare had left.
