"The subject has awoken," was the first thing I heard. How did they know I was awake when I didn't? And who were they? "He has increased brain activity," seems they know I'm a guy. "It shows he is thinking," Where the hell am I? I try to open my eyes.
"Fuck!" WHY is it so damn bright in here? It's like my eyes are made of liquid nitrogen and someone placed thermite in the sockets. And wait how can I talk, I haven't been able to coherently since I got to this hellhole.
"Seems he has the same profanity," they say. Fuck you too. I swear if I want to.
"Where... am I?" I ask.
"In a location you will learn of soon," A voice that sounds awesomely synthesized says. "We need to be sure we can trust you." I'm sure I recognize that voice.
"Can you tone down the lights?" I hated how bright it was. "It sucks that I can't open my eyes without pain."
"It's pitch black in there,"
"Bullshit!" I mean... just... no. It can't be. "Prove it," It's not like I can see thermal.
"First open your right eye," I did so, the bright lights of doom were back. "Next we will put a nullifier around the room," the lights started to dim then turn black. "Finally, we will turn the lights on," the lights slowly came on. They were different than the previous ones.
"So what does it nullify?" I hope magic, it would be awesome.
"Magic," fuck yeah, but wait, I didn't have it before.
"I didn't have it before," I'mma kill a bitch.
"No." calm down me.
" Would you like to explain how I got this augmentation?" I like the ability but I want to know why I have it. "Or why it looks like I'm in a scientific experimentation room?"
"We gave it to you," I heard a smack over the intercom-like thing.
"I would have used more tact," the shifting voice said. "I am sorry."
"May I know the name?" I doubt it.
"Phoenix," well, shit. The second human in Equestria.
"You can't know mine until later," I know you buggy. Don't try to lie.
"Are you sure, Chrysalis?" struggle buggy, deal yourself damage, haha.
"..." You could hear the parenthesis. "I told you Chrysalis, your voice is too recognizable," another smack.
"He didn't know that for sure you hairless ape." That's rude. I don't like it when people are rude.
"I take offense to that" don't insult your asset.
"I was going to go over a list of the other augmentations but would you like to discuss insults instead?" Chrysalis said. You fucking bitch.
"No thank you," Fucking cunt "I would like to hear the list," it would be nice to know.
"We increased your arm strength with samples taken from Big Macintosh," interesting. "We gave you wings and reflexes spun from the rainbow one, They can break the barrier but they harm you quite a bit," wait, the sound barrier? Well, shit. That's nice. "We upgraded your legs with samples from the orange one so you can run faster than most creatures, including herself," Nice. "If you use the wings while running you can break the barrier, though a bit slower, with a bigger max speed," wait, what the fuck? I'm faster on the ground than on my wings? I guess that's only if there's no obstacles. If it's not a straight shot the wings are better. I wanna do an aileron(BARREL!) roll. "We increased your mental capacity so you can think faster than anyone except Celestia or Discord and do what you just did. We gave you the dragons' ability to see magic," no shit Sherlock. "it works better than thermal vision," No. Way. Can someone pick up that phone, cuz I called it. "We gave you the changeling's ability to siphon love but upgraded it so you can drain magic with samples from Tirek," wait, what the fuck again? That massive centaur? "It comes with a natural drawback, if you drain a lot, you get bigger, if you get too big you die in a massive explosion," are you fucking kidding me? " We think at max you can get to the power of Discord before popping, but it is a combination of both. You drain from the pool, you don't take the pool like Tirek, you can also passively drain from the environment," that's better. "You also get the power of a strong unicorn in your left hand" oh shit. Playing field=Leveled. This would of saved me years ago. "That should wrap it up."
"How long did this take you to prepare for?" I thought out loud. "Jesus."
"Since you came here," she said. "We saw great potential in you."
"Could you possibly remove the magic nullifier?" please be stupid please be stupid please be stupid. "It would help for me to get used to the Death Beams of Pain™"
"The magic here is much greater than that in Equestria, nice try though," Fuck. "Feel free to relax for now," Phoenix said. Bitch!
As I fell asleep all I could remember is Chrysalis saying "All will be explained."
In a nearby room, some scientists were working, ripping chameleons apart to see how they work. In another room, humans were forced to sprint for as long as possible to test endurance. Some creatures were testing out different food sources. In one room the possibilities of dragonfire were being tested. A select team of scientists were creating a new anesthetic that could transport people to different places in blind children's forms. Finally, a great mind older than Celestia herself was teaching a forbidden type of magic.
A group of mages examined an ancient artifact and thought on it's possibilities.

The DBoP thing is a continuation of the joke from the previous chapter, Imagine it as either the acronym or the whole name if you prefer. There will be moments where one way will be funnier so try it out in different ways if you want.
Writers block is still kicking my ass but I am slowly writing more and more. Hopeflly I can get a chapter that's about 1.5-5k out every week but if not I will put out a blog. Taming the DBoP™
I woke up in a black and red bedroom laying on my stomach. Hmm, I thought it would be green accents. My wings rustled over my back. The DBoP™ were dimmed, at least. I wish that they wouldn't interfere with m...
*KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK*
I look at the door and see an red outline in the DBoP™. It looks sickly, but like 6 cylinders and a sphere, with a type of liquid inside. There's a type of pink liquid inside that seems to be in a perpetual state of motion. There's a tube at the bottom of each of the cylinders that connects to the top of the sphere. Hmm...
*KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK*
Fucking Christ "Who is it?" I snarled. I swear to God.
"Your guide," the mystery thing said.
"Come in," I said exasperatedly. The... changeling came in. "What do you want?"
"The Queen wishes to see you," Fuck the queen. "Why do you wear that ridiculous form, nothing like that even exists here on Equus, the closest things are the humans and they don't have wings,"
"I'm getting up," I don't want to though. God damnit. This bed is comfy. "What's this bed made of?"
"Cloud and pegasus down?" it said questioningly as I got up and stretched. "What did you think it was made of?"
"I don't know but that was the best night of sleep I've ever had!" like damn.
"All standard issue beds are made of that. Have you been living under a rock for your life? What am I saying of course you have," Wait, what?
"Let's just go." Weird shit aside, I'll just meet the queen. If anything happens I'll break her face.
A lot of walking without talking later, which I thought was weird, we came upon a... shell and ruby door? What the fuck's up with the red? Chrysalis is black and green, not black and red. And I would imagine the changeling's... aura I guess would be green, not red. Fuck it, I don't care anyways. The changeling is looking at me like I'm crazy. Fuck him too! I don't give a shit!
"We have a Queen to see, if you wouldn't mind," my creepy guide said. Fuck off. I'm doing something.
"Let's see the queen then," wonder what she wants with me anyways, and why did she fuck with my body though? Really?
As soon as I stepped into the room I saw a red and black carbon copy of Chrysalis, even the eyes were red instead. What's up with this, I haven't panicked when seeing an equine for months now, but... she is bringing the signs back. After all this went through my mind she spoke in a voice that sounded completely like Chrysalis. The DBoP™ showed her similar but much brighter than the guide.
"Greetings Subject, I trust you are rested, Warrior Blue 42, you may leave," I blanked out for a second but then...
"What." I talked at her. "You can't be serious."
"The other humans wanted to have easier names for changelings so we passed the naming onto them, the squad of 42 we set to managing the seaponies were named by them with names like Ecco, Sharkboy and Plesio but they decided that it would be a good name," are you fucking kidding me, she wasn't done yet though. "Do you have a problem with those names Hunter?"
"So you are telling me, that of the changeling names I've heard, that the humans named the changelings after a dolphin, a movie, a prehistoric creature and a sports play?"
"I only know what two of those mean," the mystery queen said.
"Fuck it. I don't care, oh, I almost forgot, what is your name?" and why did you mess with my body?
"My name is of no concern to you, human," the queen said.
"It is of every concern to me, if I don't know your name how am I supposed to talk to the changelings, hmm?" I christen her Queen Bitch of the Nomadic Tribe of Imbeciles. I really didn't like the guide.
"You aren't yet,"
"WHAT?!?"
"Exactly as I said, you aren't until you learn to control your new abilities," C'mon... damn it. "The training range is nearby, if you want to go to it now," No. "It's either that or be locked in your room for another night," Fuck.
" Fuck it, I guess so," I don't have anything to lose. "What would we work on first?"
"First would be the ambient magic draining, then basic levitation," alright, seems legit. We walked and talked.
Near the end of our conversation, we were talking about changelings.
"How is it that your race came to be?" I'm wondering, it can't be.
"We are an evolution of a small group of chameleons that were merged with parasprites on a Class 6 Ley Line Crossing, When we merged we gained the ability to breed into near infinite levels, an upgraded version of the chameleons colour changing and for some reason a carapace," Well, shit.
"How's it feel to be the queen of a shapeshifting colony?"
"It isn't all Sunshine and Cotton Candy, but you should ask my sister, I'm only the figurehead of the group, I can't have children,"
"That, sucks, um, this is awkward, where is the training room"?
"Right here," she pointed towards an indiscriminate door. Behind the door, I could see/sense massive amounts of magic.
"As I spend more time around you, I wonder how there is any magic left in the world," Like seriously, if the magic in my room/cell and in the halls was a 1 to the 5 of the lab, than this was a 7 or 8.
"Equus is constantly generating magic faster than it is used, that will end badly but not for at least 1000 millennia, In other words, we're safe," Ok.
There was a changeling who had 5 holes in each of his legs. On the other side of the room there were 4 small doors and one ornate door
"Captain, I require a trainer to show my subject here what eating looks like," the captain then saluted and barked in another synthesised voice,
"Squad Leader Quisling! Get out here! The Queen needs you!" There was a sound like someone dropping something and then a changeling with 3 holes in each leg shot out of one of the doors and crashed to a stop into me, hmm, I didn't even feel it.
He didn't even notice it either because he soon stood back up and said very enthusiastically, "What can I do for you my Queen, I can clean your carapace, do the horizontal tango or just have sex," After each one I cringed until on the last one I just gaped, what the fuck? Did he just say that? Man...
The queen bitch-slapped him. " I require you to train this subject in how to feed, he has the Draco Eye mutation, I'm sure you can work around it,"
"Then we can fuck right?" This guy either has a death wish, or is just retarded.
"Not right now, he is a guest, later," I did a double take at that.
"I will be your teacher, as you may of heard, my name is Quisling, I will be teaching you the only skill besides shapeshifting which I see you already mastered because that is a hybrid form, how to eat emotions, I will perform a demonstration, then you will copy to the best of your ability, any questions?" I raised my hand. "That was a trick question, now I shall begin. Bring in the ponies!"
Four changelings with 2 holes in each leg brought in 3 ponies, one male earth pony, one female pegasus and one female unicorn. The earth pony had thin magic lines in the shape of a body with 4 focuses at the hooves, the pegasus was similar except the focuses on the hooves were dimmer and the wings were focuses that were brighter than the earth pony's hooves. The unicorn had the framework except it looked different to the others, the area in the center was missing some, like the changelings, so that is the mana pool, ok.
"First I will show you how to feed on an unwilling target without sexual activity," He walked up to the earth pony.
The queen said to me then, "Pay attention now, you don't want to miss it,"
I was going to ask what was happening but then I saw Quisling do something I couldn't describe if I tried besides ripping something out but I could repeat if I wanted to. He walked up to me. "Could you do it?" I nodded. "Then do it on the second pony,"
I walked up to the pegasus, looked into her eyes and concentrated. I felt myself displace from my body and observe her mind, I saw the features of a stallion and saw my opportunity. I drew upon the feeling for that stallion and with it ripped her magic out along with the emotion. She fell unconscious. I then turned back to Quisling and asked, "Good enough?"
"I've never seen that happen that fast, normally it takes an hour of constant draining to knock them unconscious, you're a prodigy!"
The queen said "Good enough, now you will learn basic levitation, once you have mastered that you will be allowed to go among the populace," Damn it.
After a grueling 3 hours of either shooting a rock through the roof or not being able to lift it, I got a barely passing one done. It took too much out of me. The queen said that there would be a test when I wanted to leave my room for advanced levitation, lift three rocks and make them float in three circles around me without them dropping or hitting the roof. I was encouraged to practice levitating objects from my room that were heavier as well as lifting many small objects like pebbles. A magically charged crystal was sent to my room for consumption every 8 hours. For some reason I don't need to sleep anymore, after I consumed my first amount of magic I haven't had to.
Four days later I was able to pass the test. I went onwards to the queen's room, she finally told me her name, her name is Pupa. She sent me to get more training, I noticed because I was more perceptive after consuming the magic that all the DBoP™ were red. I was able to get my eyesight to turn on and off with training. I don't have to look at the garish red eyesores anymore. It was about a week before anything interesting happened.
