Chapter 1: In the Beginning
Chapter 1: In the Beginning
"Wesley, you're going to be late for school." My mom called from upstairs.
"I know mom I just can't decide on which shirt I should wear." I said. In a few moments I could hear her coming down the stairs to the basement and walking towards my room.
"I can't decide between this one, and this one." I said when she reached the door.
"Well which one do you want to wear?" She asked.
"That's the problem I've chosen these two but I can't decide, should I pick the Luna one or the Chrysalis one?" I asked.
"Hmm... I would go with the Luna one." She said.
"Alright, just give me a bit and I'll be ready to go." I said.
"Alright I'll get breakfast finished." My Mother said before heading back upstairs.
A while later I arrived upstairs, "Good, now come and eat your breakfast or you will be late for school." My mom said. I quickly grabbed some toast and water. After eating breakfast I grabbed my bags and we headed out to the car. We locked up the house, checked the door, got in the car, and headed for school.
"Have a good day Wes." My mother said from the car after I had gotten out and had begun to walk towards the doors to enter the school.
"Thanks mom, see you later." I said before turning and continuing on my way towards the school entrance. I'm sorry I haven't properly introduced myself at all how rude of me. My name is Wesley Erickson, I am 19 years of age and a student of Valley Flats High in the small town of Valley Flats, which is located in the southern half of British Columbia, Canada. The school, in comparison to those of the city is small, however to me it is a large step up in size from the elementary school, or at least what I remember of it. Now there are a few things that you should know about me before I continue. First off I have a love for science, most sciences in fact there hasn’t been one yet that I haven't found fascinating. Secondly, well, I have a few acquaintances most of which consist of a group of geeky people I hang out with at lunch, however there is only one of them whom I consider to be the person who I actually am friends with, his name is David Ming Chang. I have known David for several years now, he arrived here after his family had moved from Calgary, I still remember his reaction to our winter here, "You call this winter, this is nothing, it's not even below 0." He used to say. Speaking of him, here he is now.
"Hey Wes, how’s it going?" Dave asked after he spotted me in the hallway before class.
"Pretty good, you?"
"Yeah, I’m alright." He said, "Nice Luna shirt by the way haven't seen that one yet."
"Yeah I couldn't decide on what to wear this morning, so I asked my mother and she suggested that I wear this one today." I said.
"Well i agree with your mother it's a great choice," The shirt that I was wearing had a midnight purple color with a picture of Luna in the middle in a nouveau style, with her name in letters above.
"Dude, two more days till your birthday, what do you think your mom got you?" Dave asked.
"I don't know man,” The bell rung to get to class, “Got to go see you later." I said.
"Later." David said. What would my mother get me, now that was food for thought. Now my Mother was one of those people who you could get along with quite easily, also she had inherited quite a lot of money from her deceased parents. This gave us enough to live comfortably and still gave us enough to spend frivolously in small amounts
"Wesley, what is the answer to the question." My teacher said snapping me out of my train of thought.
"What question was I to answer?" I asked.
"The one in front of you, number four." He said annoyed. I began to spew out one big long sentence explaining the differences between roundworms and flatworms. I still don't know why people are so surprised at how I can be completely daydreaming and still answer the questions given to me without stuttering over a single syllable.
"Correct, that is how flatworms and roundworms are different." He said. He messed up my train of thought, now I have to start all over again. Forget it i'll just listen through another one of his endless lectures about something we already know because we did it yesterday. I like science but this teacher is just meh.
The next two days went off smoothly leaving nothing standing in the way of my birthday. Then finally came the day, my birthday, and it was on a Saturday, perfect two days of no school and no homework. However there was still the gnawing sensation at the back of my mind of the question that will soon be answered, what did my mother get me for my birthday? She had hinted at it, she said "it would be different than what I got for you...", wait for it, "last year". But beyond that I can't even begin to guess. The only thing though was a box had arrived last night and when i asked her what was in it she said "oh nothing just some stuff I ordered." and I left it at that.
My birthday morning finally arrived and thoughts were flying through my head on what she got me, I was being a bit self centered but hey your birthday comes once a year so might as well enjoy it. The morning went on for what seemed like hours I didn't ask why my mom hadn't shown me what she had bought me. But I knew she could tell that behind that calm look I had on was a frantic mind thinking about what it could be, and full of suspense as I waited for her to tell me. She was just dragging this out to make me more on edge. I finally had to say something.
"Mom I don't mean to be rude, but what did you get me?" I asked.
"You'll see, but first you should go to your room, I put some clothes on your bed, you should put them away first." She said. I knew she was stalling this out because she knew it was killing me, so I went and did as she asked.
After running back upstairs she told me to stop and stand just outside the entrance to the basement.
"Now close your eyes until I tell you to open them." She said.
"Ok." I said, my mind was racing this was obviously something good. After walking into the room were my mother's voice was emanating from she said,
"Turn to your left and." She paused for a moment." Open." I did as she said, what I saw next was amazing. On a set of hangers dangling from a chair was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen. It was a costume, but not just any costume. It was a custom one in the design of Thunder Dash, a character I had created, creamy beige colored pants with a shirt and dress shirt to match, gloves like the ones used for biking except much more on the fancy side but still finger less, and to complete it a set of electric mint green and black colored mane and tail, the mane which was the best made wig I had ever felt not itchy but still felt secure and fit perfectly. Wait a minute this is like the one I drew up, I took a step back in my mind and thought this through. My mother has just bought me my very own cosplay costume that I had been dreaming of having since I designed it, this is awesome!
"Do you like it.....Wes." She said. I snapped back into consciousness.
"It`s amazing, where'd you get it?" I said.
"I had it custom made by a costume company." She said.
"This is exactly like the one I drew up, how did you get the designs?" I asked.
"You put them in the trash when you realized that you'd probably never end up with it, so I took them and ordered it." She said.
"I don't know what to say, a simple thank you is not enough for something like this." I said.
"Wes a thank you is all I want." She said.
"Then, thank you." I said, "thank you very much." I ran over to her and gave her a hug as I could think of no other way to express my gratitude to her.
"Wes there was something else, David phoned and said he would be stopping by." She said.
"When and for what reason? I wasn't expecting him." I said.
"He said he had something to tell you." She said.
"Im going to put this thing on and freak him out when he gets here." I said.
"Wait." My mother said before I headed to my room to change,
"I forgot you give you the contact lenses and....the Wings." This was the best birthday present ever.
About an hour after receiving and putting on the costume, which by the way felt amazing to wear. There was a knock at the door, i went to answer it.
"Who is it?" I said.
"Wes its Dave." Dave said.
"Give me a second." I said.
"Ok close you eyes before you come inside." I said.
"Why?" Dave asked.
"Just do it." I said.
"Ok." Dave said. I opened the door and led him inside.
"Ok open them." I said.
"Wow holy crap dude, where'd you get that from?" He asked.
"This was my birthday present." I said.
"Awesome." Dave said.
"So what did you come to tell me?" I asked.
"I got you a job." He said.
"What?!" I said.
"Ok now before you start saying 'hey I didn't want a job`, just wait to here where it is." He said.
"Ok, where." I said.
"At the science research facility behind our school." He said.
"You're kidding." I said.
"No, not kidding, we both have jobs in the physics department, quantum to be exact." He said.
"Awesome!" I said.
"I know." He said. We talked for hours on details and how he managed to get us the jobs. Before long it was dinner time and he had to go. I ate dinner with mom carefully as to not get anything on the costume.
"Well I'm off to bed, night mom." I said.
"Good night, Thunder Dash." She said.
"Good one." I said. I headed to my bedroom, took off the costume, put on a shirt, and laid flat out on my bed. "Best birthday ever." I said drifting off to sleep.
The next day ran smoothly and before I knew it, it was Monday. Both the first day of school for the week and the first day of my new job as an assistant to the lab technicians in the quantum mechanics department of the physics wing. Even though it may be a small job, it is still worth the experience of being inside the research facility and seeing what really goes on inside a laboratory. We arrived at the facility about two hours after school.
"You ready?" Dave asked.
"You bet I am." I said. We entered the research facility, little did we know that from that moment forward, our lives would change forever.
Author's Note
This has been far to long in the making, I tried to edit it the best I could. Hopefully it's far better then the previous fiasco which was my last story, god that was terrible, any way hope you enjoy it. More will come eventually I just have to edit the rest.
My Little Pony: Thunder Dash
Chapter 2: Expect the Unexpected
"Hi we're here for the intern position as lab assistant in the quantum physics department." Dave said to the woman sitting behind a desk in the lobby of the valley flats research and development center.
"What are your names?" She asked.
"My name is David Ming Chang, and my friends name is Wesley Ericson." Dave replied.
"Ah yes, I see you, here's your badges take mono rail 017 to the central complex and then 095 to the physics complex." She said.
"Thank you." I said after she handed me my badge.
"Your welcome, and welcome to the staff." She said.
"Alright 017 is there now lets get on and see what we can see from up here." Dave said. The research facility was massive, with three buildings spanning a massive bowl of earth that was created by a meteor that struck thousands of years ago.
"I wonder what will be doing as lab assistants?" Dave said.
"You mean you didn't ask when you took the job?" I said.
"All she said was you will get paid per day for doing whatever in the physics department." Dave said.
"Well at least we know that much." I said.
"Yes and we didn't have to sign a waver form so no lab rat jobs." He said.
"But, I wanted to do that." I said.
"What!!" Dave said.
"I'm just kidding, oh the monorails here." I said.
We boarded the small car and shut the door. The vast majority of the facility was built down into a crater making it possible to construct biological domes at certain levels in the facility. The monorail system was suspended on a track at the very top of the crater allowing you to see the facility in its entirety.
"Welcome to main platform please disembark when the tram has stopped and the door has opened."
The computer voice said. We arrived at the platform and the door swung open to reveal a large square lounge which was almost completely empty except for a few people.
"Guess this is also the lunch room." Dave said.
"Looks like it, OK now were is the tram, oh there it is." I said.
The station was on the opposite side of the platform through a glass door.
"I see tram 095, lets go." I said.
"Alright then." Dave said. We made our way through the common area and towards the tram station. When we arrived we boarded the tram and the computer voice began to speak.
" Welcome aboard tram 095 to section 12BX6 temporal and spacial travel, quantum physics department, and astrophysics." The computer voice said.
"What did the first one say?" I asked Dave not expecting to be answered by the computer, but to my amazement it did.
"Section 21BXK bio-gravity test lab." The voice answered back.
"Cool." Dave said.
"You could say that again." I said.
I could have sworn that wasn't what it said, but I could have just heard it wrong.
"Cart 095 process 11011101010110101101 Malfunction failure to pay maintenance fees is subject to toothpaste." The computer voice aboard the tram said as the lights flickered and the speed slowly increased.
"What the hell, what is the destination, computer!" I said.
"Emergency stopping procedure station section 12bx6 t-temporal and spacial travel...." The computer's voice said as it trailed of into oblivion.
The lights on the tram went dark and all we could do was sit and hope the tram stopped at the emergency stop. A few minutes after the lights went out they came back on, the tram stopped and the doors swung open.
"Welcome to section 12bx6 temporal and spacial travel, please watch your....cabbage as you exit the.....Cabin...... 10011010100100 departing in 3....2....1." The computer said as we jumped through the open doors and landed on the platform.
"Damn that was close." I said.
"Yes it was." Dave said.
"So were are we?" He asked.
"I would say what ever this section 12bx6 is." I said.
"Lets go and look." Dave said.
"But we need to call for help, look theres a emergency phone station just over there." I pointed just up the way on the wall where there was a telephone station.
"Na lets explore were pretty safe whats the worst that could happen." Dave said.
"We should still phone." I said.
"We can do that after it's not like it's going anywhere." Dave said.
"I Suppose your right." I said.
"Good, all right then lets go and see whats so mysterious." Dave said.
"Ok." I said.
We made our way a few paces into the pitch black room, the small amount of light that was there came from the large metal archway that was the entrance to this room.
"Damn, we need a light switch." Dave said.
"This might be one, there." I said.
After flipping the switch a series of lights lining the roof turned on eventually showing the whole room in its entirety. The room was large, at least 40 feet high at one end was the metal archway that was big enough to move a semi truck through, at the other was a large machine spanning the whole wall. At the very top pipes went out in all directions ending at either the roof or the very top of the side walls of the room. Further down the machine very steampunk-esk pumps and cogs were intertwined to form some kind of network. And finally at the very bottom of the machine a circular ring with an aperture style covering was front and center, to the left there was a station upon which a computer system sat with wires connecting to the machine.
"What is this." I said.
"I have no idea, but hey lets see whats on the screen." Dave said.
"Ok." I said.
We walked across the metal floor to the machine. The plaque above the screen read 'temporal and spacial mapping and transport device'.
"I wonder if this could actually, send us to another time." Dave said.
"Well we have seen what it is lets go and call for help." I said.
"not yet, I want to see what this can do." Dave said.
"Fine we will spend a few minutes and then we go." I said.
"Sounds reasonable enough." Dave said.
"This machine, must have an index of locations somewhere, ah ha!"Dave said.
"Dave its a book, do you even know whats in it?" I said. Dave blew the dust off directly in my direction causing me to sneeze.
"Hey what was that for!?" I said.
"Oops sorry." He said.
"Damn this book is huge, the cover says index of known dimensions and spacial plains." Dave said.
"Open it lets see what is known." I said.
We opened the book it looked like holding our breaths was all for nothing there was but one line on the page 'PROJECT CANCELLED'.
"Really thats all." Dave said.
"There has to be more then this." I said.
We shook the book and to our astonishment something fell out, it was an envelope.
"Open it." Dave said.
"Ok." I said.
I opened it, the contents of the envelope was just a page. On it read 49.
"What in the world does that mean." Dave said.
"I don't know." I said.
"Wait page with a 49 written on it could it be page 49?" I said.
"I will check." Dave said.
"Nope nothing just a blank page.
"Wait flip the page again." I said.
Dave flipped the page but something was different it fell heavier then all the rest.
"Let me see that." I said.
Dave passed the book and I immediately started trying to remove the page from the book.
"What the hell are you doing." Dave said.
"Trust me." I said.
The page came clear out of the binding and there was a small tear which showed that the page was actually three pages stuck together.
"How did you know?" Dave asked.
"The page was slightly thicker and heavier then the rest." I said.
I ripped the two pages apart to reveal yet another envelope. I opened it and unfolded it.
"We went through all of that for this." I said.
"What?" Dave asked.
The contents was a paper with 2 lines of text, they read.
EQP4O9N7Y1
14367 251094 17442
"Well thats something." Dave said.
"We came all this way for nothing we should have just used the phone when we saw it." I said.
"Well now we can go back." Dave said.
"We don't even know how to turn the computer on." I said.
"Computer active input target destination." A voice emanating from the desk said as the screen flashed on and the machine roared to life.
"Well if our being here didn't set off some kind of alarm then this did, lets go Wes, Wesley lets go god dammit." Dave said.
"Wait, I want to see what this can do." I said, punching in the first line and second line of text into the input space on the screen.
"Destination set opening portal." The voice said.
An alarm bell rang as the machine sprang to life, steam flowing out of ports and belt drives spinning.
"Well were screwed that alarm can probably be heard throughout the entire facility, Wesley, hello, are you even listening to me?!" Dave said.
"Look." I said.
The aperture on the front of the machine had opened to reveal a glowing blue portal, it spun slowly on its axis as wisps of energy were absorbed back into the machine and recycled.
"Hands up you are under arrest." A voice said from behind.
We turned to see ten armed guards move through the archway
"Don't move or we will be forced to fire." The one standing dead center of the slow moving wall of guard said.
"Dave." I said.
"What."
"Run!"
We made a beeline for the portal but before we reached it a loud bang stopped me dead in my tracks, dave had been shot in the back and was now lying face down on the ground. I knelt down beside him.
"Dave listen to me you have to try and move." I said.
"Just leave me Wes*cough* just go." Dave said.
"I'm not leaving you." I said.
"Just go god damn it, Go!" Dave said.
He fainted from the exhaustion and from the pain.
"Stay right were you are." The guard said.
I slowly stood up and made my way closer to the portal, i turned *bang* a bullet came wising by just centimeters away from my face.
The bullet had flown straight into the portal.
"Warning, portal is unstable, do not enter, warning, portal is not stable, do not enter." The computer said as the once peaceful blue portal had turned into a plasma spouting whirlwind.
"OK kid turn around and come with us." The guard spoke again.
"No." I said reaching into the portal and stepping forward.
The portal was working fine until one of the guards decided to fire a bullet thinking it would hit me, but instead it hit a stray plasma wave which ran into my back causing the most excruciating pain i had ever felt so much so that I went unconscious from shock.
"Portal closing." The computer said.
The aperture closed around the portal sealing Wesley inside.
"What happened captain is everything all right." A voice from the two way radio said.
"No, we lost one to the portal and we had to shoot one." The captain said.
"Well, will he be all right for interrogation?" The voice said.
"He will sir he will." The captain said.
"All right I will expect a full report in an hour understood?" The voice said.
"Yes sir." The captain said.
"Good i will be looking forward to it." The voice said before closing the line.
"Lets move him to the infirmary." The captain said.
They lifted Dave onto a stretcher and moved him out of the room and into an elevator to head to the infirmary.
My Little Pony: Thunder Dash
"David run"
*Bang*, the gunshot rang throughout the room, the bullet hitting David in the back, knocking him to the ground.
"David!" Wesley called out, reaching a hand towards David.
"Go on wesley, I'll be fine."
"Don't move"
"No"
"Ahhhh."
I shot up and awake
"God it was just a, hold on where am I." I said. Looking around me I could make out what was a door or at least that's what i thought it was, my vision was severely blurred, i was definitely on a bed but that was about all I knew. The door swung open and a brown something wicked through.
"Ah you're awake well that is a good sign." The whatever it was said.
"Where am I, and how did i get here?" I asked.
"Well you had a nasty fall, and as for where you are well you're in ponyville hospital." The blob said.
"What hospital?" I asked.
"Ponyville, do you remember anything about what happened.” He said.
"No, but I can't really see very well right now so remembering what happened is the least of my concerns." I said.
"Ah, well I shall get you something for that, oh yes we don't seem to have you on file or for that matter in any file at all, what is your name?" He asked.
"Wesley Ericson." I said.
"Curious name for a Pegasus but ok." He said.
"A what?" I said.
"You really don't remember what you are, how hard did you hit your head." He said.
"I will bring you the stuff to fix your sight and then you might start to remember." He said, "Familiar visuals may help you remember."
"Quick question." I said.
"Yes." He said
"What is your name?" I asked.
"Ah yes how rude of me, I am Dr. Stables." He said.
"Oh, ok." I said. He left the room to go get something that could fix my sight so that it wasn't so blurry anymore, what it was I wasn't sure of, but before I knew it he had returned.
"Now this may sting a little." He said.
"Ok." I said, feeling a small prick against my arm, leg, whatever it was.
"...And that should do it." He said.
I blinked a few times, my vision was no longer blurry and I could see clearly the room i was in, the door was made of a brown wood, the walls were painted with the top half being that dull nondescript hospital green with a white molding in the middle and the bottom being a blank, clean white, the ceiling was also white. On the floor there was two beds divided by a movable curtain that was suspended from the ceiling, in both corner's there were couches with what looked like quite uncomfortable cushions in the same green color as the wall. Now the doctor was a whole other story, he stood on the right side of the bed on four legs and then it hit me, he was a pony. Now this all made sense, why he would say that my name was odd for a Pegasus, wait does that mean that I am a Pegasus? My heart felt like it skipped a beat, was I excited, nervous, both, I didn't know.
"Doctor, is there a mirror somewhere?" I asked.
"Yes their is one, its over here." He said.
"There?" I said pointing my arm in the general direction or what was now my arm. Instead of a hand adorning the end of my arm there was now a hoof attached to the end, and my skin had also taken on a more cream yellow color which upon further inspection was actually a fur type coat.
"Yes, that is where it is, do you need any help standing? " he asked.
"No i should be fine." I said.
I lifted the covers off and put my back hooves to the floor first, and then I kind of forward rolled my top half off of the bed so that I was facing towards the left wall.
"Good, at least we know that you haven't lost muscle control to any part of your body."doctor stables said.
Moving was definitely an odd sensation compared to walking on two legs but what else was I supposed to expect. I moved slowly and carefully until I was in front of the mirror that had swung out from the cabinet on the left side of the bed.
"Do you remember who you are now?" Doctor Stables asked.
I was too busy checking myself in the mirror I had to on more than once wink or discreetly move forward and backward just to make sure it was actually me and not some trick, my once tan skin had now been covered in a coat of creamy yellow hair, my face had extended around my mouth and nose to create a snout, my eyes now had a gold colored iris, my hair or what was now my mane along with my newly gained tail which would have been sandy blond were now a contrasting shade of alternating stripes of mint green and jet black which flowed down from behind and continued down and around my neck and up and over my head to fall on the left side of my face and slightly cover my eye, my ears were now pointed and raised to the upper sides of my head, my stance had changed from two to four legs which was obvious in the walk over here, and last but definitely not at all least was the wings. I extended my wings outward after a few seconds of trying to figure out exactly how to do it, with my wings fully extended I could feel the power of the muscles which made up the wings powerful arm like structure.
I turned sideways to admire them better and then another new addition I had missed came into view, my cutie mark a red lightning bolt.
"Well you seem to have no problems with your wing muscle either, so do you remember any details of who you are, and are you 100% sure that the name that you gave me was actually your name?." He said.
"I believe I have remembered my name." I said.
"What is it?" The doctor said clipboard and quill held in the aura of the magic emanating from his horn.
"My name is Thunderdash." I said.
"Ok, well then Mr. Dash, I have a few things I must ask you." He said.
"Ok, ask away." I said.
"Ok well first and foremost do you have any pains of any kind that you have noticed now that you have been up and around for awhile?" He asked.
"No, I haven't felt any." I said.
"Ok, next question, do you happen to have a reason as to why your blood is not on file, and why you aren't on file either?" He asked.
"No, my past is a bit blurry I don't exactly remember much." I said.
"Ok well I took some of your blood and sent it to canterlot to have it analysed." He said.
"Ok." I said.
Oh great what if my blood doesn't even match this species then what.
"Ok last question, are you by any chance related to a miss Rainbow Dash?" He asked.
"No, not that I know of." I said.
"Ok, it just that some of your mannerisms remind me of when she was in here, and well the obvious one was you mane style, but then other ponies have that one as well, ah well." He said.
"So is there anything else." I said.
"No there isn't anything else you have to do besides take this paper to the front desk to have you discharged." He said.
"Ok, one more question." I said.
"What is it?" He said.
"Where does one find a place that would take someone in who has no bits as of right now?" I asked.
"Well there is an inn, but thats only if you are willing to work there for your rooms rent and they don't let just anypony work there, beyond that I don't know." He said.
"Ok, thanks." I said.
"You are very welcome Mr. Dash." He replied.
I grabbed the plastic tube containing my discharge papers in my mouth and headed to the desk at the front where I passed them to the secretary and she said that I could go.
Now was the time, the time to open the doors of the hospital and see what was beyond. I opened the doors and was hit with a warm summer breeze and the smell of fresh air.
"Ah such clean air no pollution just fresh clean air." I said to myself.
I walked down the brick path outside the hospital which transitioned into a dirt one that went through a small grove of trees. Walking through the grove made me realize how it was much more peaceful here then back home, no worry about someone jumping out and trying to kill you or the sounds of sirens and cars passing by. I continued to walk and entered a grove of trees and shrubs.
Continuing to walk along I reach the edge of the grove and looked out after my eyes adjusted from the different light level inside the grove, there just a few kilometres down the hill and across a quarter of the valley was Ponyville, and in the distance was the mountain city of Canterlot.
"This place is beautiful." I said in pure amazement.
After another good 20 minutes of walking I reached a bridge which signified the reach of the town of ponyville, I paused for a moment and then took the first step onto the bridge and headed towards the inner city of ponyville.
My Little Pony: Thunder Dash
Chapter 4: Pie in the Twilight
"I'm finally here." I whispered to myself as I walked down one of the main streets of ponyville.
The street was lined with shops from a sofa and quills store to a apple stand, and bustling with ponies as I would assume the time is around that of lunch.
"Hi!!" A voice shouted in my general direction, the voice was high in pitch and sounded excited.
"Whaa.....who...huh?" I said.
"Hi, my name is pinkie pie and you're new here because I have never seen you here what is your name!?" Pinkie pie said.
"My name is Thunderdash." I said.
"Oooooo are you related to rainbow dash!?" She said.
"No, not that I know of." I said.
"Oh I almost forgot." She said.
She pulled out a cart from nowhere and began to sing a welcome song. When she finished the cart returned to whatever place it had come from.
"So where are you from." She asked.
"From cloudsdale." I said.
Of course this was lie but letting a pony like Pinkie Pie know about where I was really from may not be a good idea at this time.
"So whatcha up to in ponyville Thunderdash?" Pinkie said.
"I was looking for a place to stay, but I have heard of a library here with many books on the history of equestria and being interested in history I have come to read some of these books if it is ok with the princess?" I said.
"Twilight she, would be delighted to show you the books." She said.
"Are you sure its kind of short notice?" I said.
"She'll be fine come on" she said.
I followed her through the crowded streets, I almost lost sight of her twice but still managed to keep up with her.
We arrived shortly after and pinkie knocked on the door.
"Twilight." Pinkie called after knocking on the door.
"Pinkie what is it." Twilight said, she sounded slightly annoyed but she was probably in the middle of a book.
"Somebody wants to see you." Pinkie said.
"Who." Twilight said as she neared the door to open it.
"His name is Thunder Dash he came from cloudsdale to read some of your books." Pinkie said as Twilight opened the door. She opened the door fully before looking up and seeing me for the first time.
" Good afternoon my name is Twilight Sparkle, and you must be Thunder Dash?" Twilight said.
"Yes, that is me." I said.
She moved back from the door and let pinkie and I enter the library.
It was exactly as I had pictured it would be it, the walls were lined with books and the smell of paper and that distinct smell of the glue used in old books filled the air but was only a weak smell and was not to over powering.
"So what particular part of history were you interested in?" Twilight asked.
"I am interested in the era before the banishment of Nightmare Moon." I said.
"Ok, well I shall see what books I have on that particular subject." Twilight said after she went off to find this book I turned to face Pinkie.
"Pinkie Pie, thank you for showing me the way to the library." I said.
"Oh it was nothing, a new pony to Ponyville always needs directions at one time or another." She said, she began to head for the door but turned around and said one last thing,"Oh I almost forgot, you have to stop by sugarcube corner wile your here, they have the best cupcakes in all of equestria, well maybe not all of equestria because there are so many places there could be another bakery that has even better cupcakes, but you can never have two many good cupcake places." She said.
"I will be sure to go there tomorrow." I said.
"Oki doki loki see you then."she said.
"Bye Thunder." She said as she walked out the door.
"See ya Pinkie Pie." I said.
By the time I turned back to Twilight she had at least 20 books stacked up on the subject.
"Twilight." I said.
She stopped going through the books and turned to face me.
" what is it?" She asked.
"I didn't come here to learn about history, at least at this moment." I said.
"What?" She said.
I could tell that she was slightly annoyed as her voice raised slightly.
"I came to talk to you actually." I said
"Why?" She asked.
"Because there are somthings about me that, well." I said.
"Well, what?" She said curious as to what I was about to say.
"I lied about." I said.
"Like what?" She said.
She was more intrigued and curious then scared and defensive.
"Well for starters im not actually from cloudsdale." I said.
"Ok well were are you from then?" She asked.
"Thats a bit more confusing to explain." I said.
"Try me." She said.
"May I use the chalkboard?" I asked.
"Yes, you may." She said.
I walked over and tried to pick up the chalk, but for one reason or another it felt easy to pick up and move the chalk.
"Im waiting?" She said getting a little annoyed at my astonishment of picking up the chalk.
"Ah, well let me begin." I said drawing a circle on the left side of the board.
"Ok so pretend this is your world." I said.
"Ok." She said gaining back some of her original interest.
"Now this line that I have drawn represents a void and here." I drew a circle on the right side of the line.
"This represents my world earth, were I am from." I said.
"Hold on, what exactly is this void that is represented by this line." She said motioning with a hoof at the line.
"Im not exactly sure, all I can assume is that it is an empty expanse of temporal and spacial energies in one big jumbled up mess." I said.
"And secondly, your not even from equestria?!" She said.
"Yes, yes that would be correct." I said.
"Who, or what are you then?" She asked.
"I am human." I said.
"Ok, the name doesn't ring a bell I need more of a description." She said.
"Bipedal, ape, we have hands and fingers, no wings, non colored skin well not brightly colored that is." I said.
"Ok it sounds familiar except for the non brightly colored skin part." She said.
I assumed she was talking about her trip through the mirror.
"Ok, ya well um theres one more thing that may sound kind of creepy but I assure you is not." I said.
"What is it." She said.
"Well theres kind of a show based off of you and a toy line and I know about the excursion through the mirror were spike got turned into a dog and ya all that fun stuff." I said.
At that moment I could swear that if twilights jaw wasn't hinged it would be hitting the floor right now.
"Ok, well thats interesting, how, how much do you know." She finally said after what felt like an hour of silence.
" Well, I know that Celestia and Luna are the princesses who live in canterlot and raise and lower the sun and moon, I also know that you are friends with Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Rarity, Apple Jack, and Fluttershy, and that together you make up the elements of harmony, and that about sums up the whole thing give or take a few Parts." I said.
She was just starring but with a look of astonishment rather then that look of 'can I get a weapon to hit this guy over the head fast enough because he's probably gonna rape me'.
"Thats amassing, and slightly creepy but hay different universe different perspective." She said.
"Ya." I said.
"So why did you come here then of all places." She asked.
"Well to make a long story short, I went through a portal ended up here and woke up in the hospital, got discharged and came to ponyville, and now I'm here." I said.
"Ya but why exactly here, In my library?" She asked.
"Two reasons one I beleve that bringing this to your attention would be a better way to bring it to Celestia's attention." I said.
"I see and what about the second." She said.
"Well, you see I have no money and, well I need a place to stay so ya." I said.
"I guess you can stay in the extra room down stairs." She said.
"Thank you, Princess." I said bowing to her.
"That really isn't necessary, just call me Twilight." She said.
"Ok." I said.
"By the way."
"What?" She said.
"Can I still read those books?" I asked.
"Of course." She said.
She turned and called up stairs.
"Spike."
A few seconds later the purple dragon appeared and awaited any further instructions.
"Take a letter."
-------------/--/-------------/--/---------
"Dear, Princess Celestia
Someone has requested an audience with you, his name is Thunder Dash and he has told me he is from a race called humans and that they reside on a planet known as earth. He wishes to speak with you about this matter, my guess is to either get permission to stay or to find a way home.
Your faithful student,
Twilight Sparkle." Celestia read to herself as she sipped her tea from her glass she had levitated over to her from the table, she currently resided in her room lying in the middle of a rug in front of the glowing fireplace.
"I will put her in for tomorrow morning, it will be a good way to start the day, something different for a change." Celestia said to herself.
There was a knock at the door.
"Come in." She said.
The door opened and a pony in a white lab coat entered.
"Good evening princess, sorry to disturb you but there is something that must be brought to your attention." The pony in the lab coat said as he walk towards Celestia.
"What is it?" She asked.
The pony levitated a file out of one of the pockets in his lab coat.
"This." He said setting the down in front of Celestia who proceeded to flip it open with her hoof.
"This is a gene archive file what's so special about it?" Celestia asked.
"I am just the messenger, but whatever it is it must be important." He said.
"I shall read it over, is that all?" Celestia asked.
"Yes your majesty." He replied.
"You may go." She said.
"Thank you." He said before turning around and leaving through the door closing it behind him.
"Why would, they want me to look it over." Celestia said to herself as she opened the folder to revue its contents, she turned to the first page and read through the contents, she got to the end and turned the page. The second page contained the family tree and the relatives, she read it over a few times to make sure that what she was reading was actually on the paper. She closed the folder and stood up.
"I must meet with Luna to discuss this at once." She said lifting the file up with her magic and walking out her door and off in the direction of Luna's tower.
"How about this color, princess?" A pony said holding up a piece of wood with her magic.
"I don't know, i can't decide, what is most popular?" Luna asked.
"Well the oak is the one most ponies go for." The pony said holding up the piece of oak wood.
"Then I shall chose the oak." Luna said.
"Ok it should be delivered within a week." The pony said.
"Excellent." Luna said.
"Will that be all princess?" The pony asked packing away the samples.
"Yes, thank you for your services." Luna said.
"You are welcome your majesty." The pony said.
There was a knock at luna's door.
"Enter." She said.
The doors opened and Celestia came in.
"Good evening your majesty." The pony said bowing to Celestia after she entered.
"Likewise, Luna I must speak with you." She said.
The carpenter packed up her things and went out the door after Celestia finished her sentence.
"I see you are getting a new desk sis." Celestia said.
"Ya the old one is well used and breaking down I'm afraid, but I know that is not why you came to talk to me." She said.
"No, you're right it isn't." Celestia said.
She levitated the folder out from under her wing where she had his it.
"I was wondering why one of your wings looked a bit bigger than the other." Luna said.
Celestia placed the folder on the desk in front of them.
"Sister why do you have a file from the gene archives?" Luna asked.
"One of the doctors dropped it off and said that it was something that i should look over." Celestia said.
"So do you know why?" Luna asked.
"I think I have a pretty good Idea." Celestia said.
She opened the folder and began to read through the first page.
"So this pony, just had there blood added to the archive today?" Luna said.
"Yes." Celestia said.
"But thats not possible, at birth a sample of the ponies blood is taken and added to these genetic archives." Luna said.
"Whats even more strange is, well you'll see." Celestia said.
She turned the page and got a strange look of, huuh mixed with a bit of wah and a bit if this wasn't expected.
"So, he's related to," luna said.
"Yes." Celestia said.
"And he's." Luna said.
"Yes." Celestia said.
"But how." Luna said.
"I have no idea, but we will be meeting with him tomorrow." Celestia said closing the file.
"Just from the file I'm interested in meeting him." Luna said.
"So am I Luna," Celestia said, "So am I."
My Little Pony: Thunder Dash
Chapter 5: Off to see The Princesses
*RING*
"Ugh, just give me five more minutes." I said groggily, the alarm clock still ringing forcing my hoof as I had to get up to turn it off.
"Ugh, ok." I said. I sat up in the bed that twilight had lent me, the room was small and contained a window, door, the bed, and a side table which had an old analogue alarm clock with the two bells on the top and a lamp. I rolled down the sheets slowly admiring my form as I went. Strong muscle covered by a layer of skin and fur, and supported by bone. I turned and put my back hooves down off the bed and rolled forward to put my front hooves on the ground, I turned and hit the top of the alarm clock with my hoof, and I walked over to and opened the door to the library.
"Good morning Thunder Dash." Spike said walking down the stairs and then heading towards a hallway leading off to what is probably the kitchen as he was wearing an apron.
"Nice to see you finally got up." Twilight said trotting down the stairs.
"Yeah, it was kind of hard to leave such a comfortable bed, but how do you sleep with these wings, I managed to get the blanket on and a couple seconds later my wings would shift or extend and knock the blanket off again." I said.
"Yeah it happens you'll get used to them eventually." She said. I was going to respond with a remark but something caught the attention of my nose.
"What is that delicious smell?" I asked Twilight.
"We'll, since I didn't know what kind of food you like I had Spike make apple pancakes." Twilight said.
"Thank you, but you didn't have to make me anything." I said.
"Nonsense you are my guest and it would be rude of me to eat and not offer you any when, it is breakfast and we are going to see the princesses." Twilight said.
"I shall have to repay the favor sometime." I said following Twilight down the hallway and towards the kitchen and dining area.
After eating for a while Twilight spoke, "So what did you think?”.
"The pancakes were amazing where did Spike learn to cook like that?" I asked.
"Just from books in the library." Twilight said.
"Really! He is quite good at it."
"Yes, he seems to have a bit of a natural talent for it." She said with a smile.
"So," I said, after finishing my last bit of pancake, “How do we plan to get to Canterlot?”
“My plan was to take the train, unless you think flying would be better?” She said.
“You can’t just teleport us there?” I asked, getting off of the stool I was sitting on while we where eating.
“Well, I could, but, heh, if you aren’t used to it you can sometimes get quite ill when you do it.” She said.
“How sick are we talking?” I asked, smiling a bit, thinking ‘Come on it can’t be that bad’.
“Let’s just say the last time someone was sick they were in bed for two days recovering.”
“Oh, heh, the train sounds fine then.” I say, smiling nervously, teleportation sounds dangerous. “Wait, oh shit!”
“Hey, what’s with the language?!” She said, looking quite surprised at my sudden use of that word.
“Oh, sorry, old habit, heh, I can stop using it if it offends you.” I said.
“It’s fine with me, I was just surprised that’s all, didn’t take you for someone who swears, just don’t use it around the colts and fillies ok.” She said.
“Understood.” I said.
“What did you remember?”
“Oh, I promised Pinkie I would go and see her at Sugar Cube Corner.”
“Oh, ok, we can stop there quickly on the way, as long as you don’t take to long.”
“Sounds good to me, I wish I didn’t promise her for today though, cause of the meeting and all.”
“You didn’t know that events would play out like they did.”
“True, very true.”
“Well, we should get going, we have to be at the castle in an hour.”
“’K, I’ll just go in and tell her that I can only just grab something and go because I have to be at the castle in an hour.”
“Sounds like a good reason.”
“Hopefully she’ll be ok with it.” I say, looking a little put off by having to back out of a promise, which I hate doing.
”I’m sure she will understand.” She said, putting her hoof on my shoulder.
“Spike, you’ll have to watch the place while we are gone, be good to Owlowiscious while we’re gone.”
He salutes Twilight and puts his hands on his hips, “Don’t worry Twilight, I got this.”
She waved to Spike as we walked out of the door to the library, she shut the door behind us and we started to head off to Sugar Cube Corner. The sun shone bright in the sky, it was a fairly warm day, a light breeze blew through our manes as we walked. A few minutes later we arrived at Sugar Cube.
"Remember, you only have a few minutes." She said, as I started to walk towards the open door of Sugar Cube Corner, the air filling with sweet smells of pastries.
"Heh, I'll keep it quick, see you in a few minutes." I look back at her smiling before I turn to head inside the building. Once I got inside the smell of sugar and icing hit me like a train, I almost fell over to be honest, the air was heavy with the smell, most bakeries in the human world that I had been to never seem to smell like this. Pinkie noticed me looking around and waved in my direction calling out to me.
“Hey Thunder, glad you made it!” She said from behind the counter.
“Hey Pinkie, yeah, Twilight and I where just heading to the train to,” I stopped, should I say it out loud, or should I get closer, I decided to play it safe, “To head to Canter lot.“ I finished talking and walked over to her.
“Why are you going to, oh, your going to see the Princesses aren’t you.” She said giggling.
“Yeah, I just didn’t want to yell it out loud I said.
“Ok, so I guess you can’t stay for long then.” She said, looking a little disappointed, but not to much.
“Yeah, I feel really bad about promising you that I’d come only to let you down, I can stay for a few minutes though.” She seemed to perk back up
“In that case, here.” She shoved a cupcake in my mouth faster then I could react, all I could do was chew and swallow it. I coughed a bit, but then the taste started to hit me, caramel, then vanilla, then something I could only describe as very sweet with a bit of a salty aftertaste. “So did you like it?”
“Wow…what was that, that was amazing.” I said liking my lips of the caramel flavoured buttercream frosting.
“I’m so glad you liked it its called caramel surprise, here,” She placed a bag on the counter filled with at least 4 more of them, “Have some for your trip.”
“Aw, thanks Pinkie, you really didn’t have to do that, I have no way of paying for these.”
“Hehe, there on the house this time, consider it a welcome present.” She said jumping a bit.
“Thanks, when I know I can for sure I’ll stop by and hang out with you like I promised.” I said before picking the bag up in my mouth, and walking towards the door.
“Okie dokie lokie, have fun on you train ride.” She said waving by to me as I headed for the door.
I waved back, “Thanks, and thanks again for the cupcakes.” I said smiling back at her then picking up the bag in my mouth again and walking out the door.
Back outside Twilight looked a little impatient before she caught view of me, “I was worried you were going to take to long, what’s in the bag?”
I put the bag down next to her, “Pinkie gave me some cupcakes, she said they where on the house, caramel surprise I believe is what she called them, they’re amazing.”
“I have no doubt that they are, Pinkie Pie is an amazing baker.”
“So how’d she take it?” Twilight said levitating the bag into her saddle bags as we began to head towards the train station.
“At first she seemed a little disappointed but, all in all she seemed ok with it, I said that I’d keep the promise the next time I had the time, and knew I’d be able to do it.”
“Good, I’m glad that the first two ponies you have met have been good experiences for you.”
“I’m glad too, truth be told I can’t really imagine what her reaction will be, or what the princesses’ll say, you think they’ll send me back?” I said, hanging my head a bit, the realisation that they could very well do that hitting me.
She looked over to me and saw my demeaner had changed, “Hey, she probably won’t send you back, I mean you aren’t causing any problems, yeah you probably know more about me then I do about you, but you seem like a nice pony, otherwise I wouldn’t have let you stay with me.” She said.
“Thanks, hat means a lot Twilight.” I said, especially coming from the Princess of Friendship, my demeaner changing back to they way it was before.
“Your welcome, now, to the train station.” She said, as we walked off in the direction of the station, Canterlot in the distance and the Equestrian sun high in the sky as ponyville bustled around us.

Valley Flats Research Facility
Unknown room
"Ugh.......w-where am I." David said groggily into the darkness, all he knew was that he was in a large comfy chair with an iv in his arm
"Hello!?" He said, "Ok who's there, I faintly see an out line of someone."
*thwack*
"Ow!" He exclaimed, a burning feeling erupting on his face from the area it was hit "What do you want!?"
"Where is he?" The figure inquired.
"Who *thwack* oh come on I have no idea who you are asking about!" Dave yelled, after being hit again.
"The other boy you were with." The figure spoke.” Where is he?!” *thwack*
"I don't know, I passed out after I was shot, I think, my memory is blurry." He said.
"Well think harder or I will use the other methods I have of retrieving the information." The figure said.
*thwack*
"Ow." Suddenly a door opened and a blinding light appeared.
"What the hell are you doing, Get away from him!" Another voice said in the dark.
"What makes you think he will speak to you." The first voice said.
"Because I know him, who authorized you to do this?" The second voice spoke.
“Doctor Issac authorized this.”
“Get out of here, and tell him I want to speak with him once I’m done here.” A light flashed on revealing the source of the second voice.
"Mr. Ericson?" Dave said confused, why was Wesley’s uncle here to question him.
"Hello David, now, do you have any idea where Wesley is?"
My Little Pony: Thunder Dash
Chapter 6: That was, Unexpected
Chapter 6: That was, Unexpected
After several more minutes of walking we finally arrived at the train station. It consisted of a wooden platform and a single building, several benches lined the platform and there was a single ticket booth in the side of the building along with several bags that I assume where to be loaded on the train.
“The train should be here any minute now.” Twilight said.
“At least we got here ahead of time.”
“True.” She replied. We walked up the steps and towards the ticket booth where a brown unicorn sat behind the glass. He sat up when he saw the princess.
“Ah, what can I do for you princess?” He said, bowing his head slightly as he finished.
“Two tickets to Canterlot please.” She said smiling.
“Official business I take it.” He said, grabbing two papers from a stack behind him and levitating them over to the desk in front of him.
“Maybe.” She said with a giggle.
“Well, here you go.” He pushed the tickets through the hole at the bottom of the glass window.
“Thank you.” Twilight replied, grabbing the two papers with her own magic and walking over to one of the benches.
“Free tickets for the Princess I take it.” I sat down beside her.
“For official business only, still have to pay for personal travels though.”
“Makes sense, but how’d he know? You said ‘maybe’.”
“We’ve known each other long enough, besides if it’s not official I tell him, he trusts me.” She said, “Plus I have said yes before and it’s attracted some unwanted attention from other ponies at the station.”
“I see, got it.” I say with a smile.
We sat and chatted about the weather for a bit before the train pulled in to the station. The conductor walked out from one of the cars, “Train to Canterlot station, tickets please.” He shouted from where he was standing, a small line formed in front of him in a short time, we where near the front.
“Ah good morning Princess Twilight.” The conductor said taking the tickets from twilight using his magic, he punched them and handed them back, “Welcome aboard.”
“Thank you, and good morning to you as well” She replied with a smile, before leading us onto the train and to a seat near the window.
“Comfortable seats, only the best for the princess I take it.” I say, sitting down on a comfortably padded seat in the train car.
“No, all the seats are this comfy, most of the train is like this.” Twilight says sitting down next to the window on the opposite side.
“I would’ve thought you had a private car by now.” I said, glancing around to notice that al the seats were in fact the same cushioned chair. The conductor then called to the engineer with the usual “All aboard!” and the train lurched forward.
“To be honest, the thought never really crossed my mind about having a private car for my friends and I, we just ride the train together like every other pony.” She said.
"Heh, if all these seats are this comfortable," I say, leaning back in the seat and relaxing more, "Then I don't know how these could be better." I looked out the window to see the trees pass by as we climbed higher and higher heading closer in the direction of Canterlot. "How long is the ride?"
"It's about 45 minutes, why you ask?"
"Just curious, anything I should know about the Princesses before I get there?"
"Well..." She started talking, we chatted for what felt like hours, most of what she said didn't surprise me, she made sure that I understood how to treat them, and how to behave during the meeting, which I had already knew how to do, at least I thought I understood it and her explanation confirmed it.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Canterlot Station!" The engineers call broke our conversation, we had switched topics a while back from the Princesses to science. There was some basic biology that Twilight wanted to know about Humans, as unknown as Humans where to her, she understood them quite well, most of our names for things matched up, hands where a bit tricky to explain at first, but I just referred to Spike's claws and she got the idea. After we had finally stopped moveing we got up and stepped onto the white tiled platform that was Canterlot Station.
"So, this is Canterlot." I looked around at the purple wall of the station and the yellow roofed arch.
"Yeah, you impressed." She said, nudging my side with her wing.
"Yeah, it's much more beautiful in person." I said, still looking around in aw as we stepped from the platform to the street and started to walk down what I assumed was the main road to the castle.
We walked for a while, most of the shops where bustling with the morning traffic, the sun was higher in the sky and the air started to get warmer.
"So, where did you live when you where here?" I asked having finished gawking at the city's design and the scale of it all.
"Well, up over there," she pointed with her hoof over towards our right, the view blocked by buildings, "Maybe I could show you after we finish the meeting." She finished with a smile.
"That's be fun." I said, smiling back keeping up a steady trot beside her. Out of the corner of my eye I caught a poster, I couldn't quite make it out, but something made me want to stop and see it, curiosity mainly. I stop trotting beside Twilight and walked to the poster. "What is this?"
"What?" Twilight said, catching my exclamation and she turned to see what I was looking at.
"This," I pointed with a hoof to it as she trotted over to where I was. When she reached me, she turned to me first.
"We don't have time for this we have to..." She turned her head and her words stopped, "What is this?!" Her surprised tone was very warranted, the poster on the wall of the alley way was a badly drawn image of Luna with a red line painted through it and a circle around it, the text reading 'Down with Luna' another next to it showed a drawing of the moon with Nightmare Moons silhouette still on it, 'Send her back' was written in text on this one. "When did this start?"
"I've only been here a day, I don't know?" Trying to add some levity to the situation.
"Down with Luna!" A voice exclaimed from the other end of the alley.
"Come on, lets go figure this out." I ran down the alley way in the direction of the voice.
"We have a meeting, ugh." The purple alicorn groans, starting to run before she turned and magically removed the two posters.
I arrived shortly at the end of the brick-walled alley way looking around to see where the voices came from, but could find no one, Twilight caught up to me.
"Let the guards handle it Thunder, come on we have to get to the meeting." She poofed the posters back and held them in the air, "I'll give these to the princesses, see what they know." She poofed them away again, and started trotting in the direction of the castle.
Something inside me to stay and try and help find these ponies, but Twilight was right, we had a meeting, the guards could handle it, and besides I wouldn't even know where to look for them, heck I'm just following Twilight to the castle as it is.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We walked silently the rest of the way to the castle, not sure why we did, but Twilight did seem lost in thought, those posters must have been a new development, unless they have been there before, who knows. I could only speculate as I followed her to the castle entrance, which was now in view, A large white wall with a purple top, it was rather beautiful for what was simply a defense measure, there was an archway where two guards stood.
“We’re here to see the princesses.” Twilight said when we finally reached them.
“Ah, princess Twilight, we were informed of your immanent arrival, please follow me.” A third guard spoke walking out from behind the wall on the right side. His uniform was a little fancier then the others, he looked more distinguished then the other two, a captain maybe. Twilight acknowledged the guard and followed his lead as we started to walk up the steps of the castle. Once through the archway you could see a beautiful garden the lined the insides of the wall, not to say that the outside didn’t have its share of flowers and vines, but the inside had a pond, some willow trees, or what looked like willows I couldn’t tell. The stairs to the grand entrance where large and ornate, but the steps themselves where lined on both sides with plants of varying types, clearly mirrored on both sides, so that neither side looked different. The steps where a polished white, for the exterior of a building it kept its lustrous look, they must have been made of marble and kept quite clean.
We walked up the steps and the large doors opened, revealing two guards on the inside and one at each corner of the large entrance way, banners hung from two sides of a large window, one of the moon and one of the sun, there was a doorway under the window, which was on a second balcony like floor which was accessed by a stairway in the middle of the room, to either side of it there where balcony like areas with railings. The walls where painted in a light purple with the corners and base of the wall being of a different piece of wood and in a soft yellow color. The guard led us through the large arch to the left and down a hallway. After many changes in direction we reached a door, the guard opened it, “This way your highness.” He said, motioning with his hoof to enter the room through the open door.
“Thank you.” Twilight said, bowing, the guard bowed in return and she entered, I bowed to the guard as well and followed. The guard shut the door behind us and the room was silent.
"So, what's with the silent treatment?" I finally said to Twilight after the long quiet walk we had.
"Oh, sorry, yeah, it's just, these posters have taken me by surprise." She pops them back into existence, "I've never seen anything like it before, I always thought most ponies where happy having Luna back."
"It does seem odd." I walked over to the large square table with two chairs on two of the sides, two where smaller and the ones on the other side where larger and with a sun on one and a moon on the other. “Should we sit?”
“No, wait for the Princesses.” Twilight said, as she finished the door creaked open, Twilight poofed the poster away just before the two royal sisters walked through.
“Good morning to you Twilight.” Celestia said as she entered, Twilight bowed and she bowed back, “And you must be Thunder Dash.” She said, turning to face me.
“Yes, your majesty.” I replied, bowing to the two of them as Twilight had told me I should do.
“You may rise.” She said in a kind voice, I returned to my original position and watched as the two gracefully walked to their chairs and sat, placing a folder from under her wing onto the table in front of her. “You may be seated.” She spoke, cueing us to sit in our seats. “So, Thunder, we hear that you are from the Human world, is that correct?”
“Yes, your majesty it is.” I said, the air about this meeting felt formal, yet it also had a touch of a laid-back feel, it was rather comforting, for what I thought would be a nerve racking experience.
“What did you do?” Luna asked, finally speaking.
“I was a high school student, I was working a volunteer job at a science facility before I came here.” I stated bowing slightly once I had finished, she felt harsher then her sister, but even through that she seemed, curious.
“How did you arrive here, in Equestria?” Celestia asked, the meeting was jumping off quite quickly into the questions, perhaps it was to keep me on my toes, or hooves to be more precise, maybe they felt being upfront was better to judge better if I were lying.
"Would you like the direct version or the in-depth version?" I asked.
"We have time for the in depth and it is important to hear all the details." She said.
"Very well, it all began..." I began to explain how I found the machine and how the monorail went haywire and how we were curious and how David got shot and "Well that's pretty much it." I said.
“I see,” She replied, her face turning a maintained a more serious look while I spoke, and continued as she finished jotting down notes from my story onto a paper she had, her face then relaxed, as did Luna’s, “Well, now that that’s over you can relax, I noticed you where getting quite tense there.” There change in attitude caught me off guard, but it wasn’t something unexpected.
“Heh, it has hasn’t it.” I spoke, realising that my neck had stiffened quite a bit, I stretched it out a bit and relaxed a bit in the chair.
“So, I assume Twilight has been a gracious host to you?” Celestia asked, “Oh, and sorry about the quick-fire questions, we wanted to make sure you where telling the truth, and it helps to put someone on the spot to find out if they’re lying.” She finished, putting away the note paper back into the folder she had with her.
“Oh, she’s been great your majesty.” I replied, still a little stuck in the formal routine from earlier, it was obviously ok to be more laid back, but I still felt the need to make good first impressions.
“I’m glad to hear that, now, there is something more we need to discuss.” She levitated the folder up and pulled out a smaller folder, she the placed the smaller folder in front of me. “There are a few interesting things we have found, I thought you should see them.”
I opened the folder with my hoof, the first page contained my medical record, height, weight, age, birthday, blood type, name, the usual one would expect. I turned to the next, which was mostly blank, it was a list of all recent doctor visits. I turned it again, the contents of which where a family tree, the page, made me freeze. “Wait…what!?” I exclaimed, all formality lost in my voice. I nudged it over to Twilight as she seemed curious.
“Wait, what?!” Her response identical to mine, her face, getting more and more shocked as she read.
“This can’t be right, could it?” I asked out loud, not to anyone, but just in general.
“It is.” Celestia said.
“Our doctors have checked it several times, you have a genetic relation to these ponies, and as far as it looks, you where never anything other then a pony, however,” Luna paused pulling out another piece of paper from the folder, this contained a list of genetic matches in a pie chart, most of it was Pegasus, other then 5 percent, which was unknown. “This unknown part, we believe is human DNA, meaning that your story checks out.”
“But, but how? I’m human, I’ve always been, but according to this, my fathers name is Star Drifter, and my mothers name is Fire Fly, but that can’t be right, I know my parents, they’re human.” I said, dumb founded at the results on the page. “Also, I can’t be related to her, even though it says half sister, it can’t be right, can it.” I stopped, reading the name again, ‘Rainbow Dash’, stared back at me from the page, ‘relation: Half Sister’ in brackets ‘Genetic’.
“We know it’s a lot to take in, but I see no reason why we have to try and send you back.” Celestia said, “From the answers you gave, and the genetics you have, I see no reason why you can’t stay here, unless you wish to return home that is?” She asked, magically pulling back all the papers strewn across the table and placing them back into the folder.
“I-if I’m aloud to, I think I’ll stay.” I said, the realisation hitting me, I was a Pegasus, by blood, by genes, no magic had made me this way, I was, and was always a Pegasus, questions burned inside of me, but all that didn’t matter now, because I was too excited. My brain filled with ideas, I could learn to fly, I could live a life, here, settle down, find a job, I had options. Where would I live though, that I hadn’t thought about.
“I’m sure Twilight can accommodate you till you can find a place of your own.” Celestia said, looking a Twilight, whom nodded in agreement.
“You’ve been a perfect house guest, I see no reason not to.” She replied in my direction.
“Thank you, I’ll repay you in whatever way I can.” I said, before turning back to the two sisters.
“Also, Twilight, what where those papers that you poofed away before we entered?” Luna asked a curious tone on her lips.
“Um, we found these, well, Thunder found these.” She said, poofing them back into existence on the table in front of us. “Thunder saw them on an alley way, I grabbed them down and thought I should bring them to you.”
The two looked them over, Luna’s look of curiosity turning to sadness quite quickly, “These are very disturbing, thank you for finding them Thunder, I’ll have the guards keep a lookout for them from now on.” Celestia said, looking at me when she said thank you I bowed in respect, realising that formality was the safe route now. “You two should go, I thank you again for finding them, and I look forward to hearing about your progress on getting used to life here from Twilight.” She said putting the poster down, Luna still hiding her face behind the other.
We stood up from our seats and bowed, “Your majesty’s” We said in unison.
“Thunder, it was once to meet you.” Celestia said, I stood back up, Luna having put down the poster, her face looking sadder then before she had taken a closer look at the poster.
“It was nice to meet you as well Thunder Dash.” Luna said, her voice quivering slightly, she was trying to hold her composer.
“It was nice meeting you too, your majesty's” I said bowing again, then standing up and heading for the door.
“It was nice seeing you again, Princess Twilight.” Celestia said, Luna having returned to being behind the poster, I certain she couldn’t hold her composer any longer.
“It was nice seeing you two again, your majesty's” Twilight said, standing from her bow and heading to meet me at the door. We both left, shutting the door behind us, one last bow and then.

"Why won't you let me go?" David said, still sitting in the rather comfy chair the iv having been removed.
"We needed to make sure you where feeling better before we let you go, you where shot after all." Mr. Ericson said from a chair across from his.
"Fine, I'm better, you removed the iv, now let me go." David said getting angry that he hasn't been allowed to leave.
"We still need to know what you saw, and where Wesley went," Mr. Ericson said standing up, "The memory was wiped due to the disruption from the bullet hitting the portal, so we need to know what you entered."
"I don’t remember." David said, looking to the floor.
"This is getting no where, perhaps we should just," The other man spoke, but was cut off.
"No, give him time, he's scared." Mr. Ericson said, cutting the man off. "Please, we really need to know." The look on his face of legitimate concern.
"I really don't remember…wait." David said, sitting up straight.
"What was it?" Mr. Ericson asked, sitting up straight himself, could he have remembered after all.
"EQP4O9N7Y1, yeah, that's what it was." David said, speaking it slowly trying to remember exactly what was on the screen when the portal was opened.
"He...he did it." Mr. Ericson said under his breath, his eyes lighting up, but no one seemed to notice or here his words. "You, escort him back to the lobby, make sure he gets home safe." He said standing up and looking to the other man that was in the room.
"Understood, sir." The other man walking over to David and putting out his hand, "Come with me.'" He stated to David, his outstretched hand at David's eye level.
David hesitated for a moment, and grabbed hold of the man's hand, who then pulled him up. "David," Mr. Ericson said, drawing his attention, "Don't tell anyone about what you have seen, as far as you are concerned you had an accident."
"Understood." David said, being helped along by the other man.
"Help him to the lobby, I need to speak with Professor Issac." Mr. Ericson said, walking towards a different door then the other two.
"Understood sir, I'll take him there." The other man said, leading David to another door.
"I'm sorry all this happened David, I truly am." Mr. Ericson said, after opening the door leading to a long hallway where Issac's office was.
David just bowed his head and was lead out the other door, it closed behind him. Mr. Ericson shut the door he was holding open and walked down the dimly lit hall to Issac's office.
He arrived, and opened the door, "You should have killed him." A voice from within spoke, his voice smooth, his tone of 'I told you so' clearly annunciated within his statement to Mr. Ericson, "He's seen to much."
"He's a family friend his parents are family friends, I would never." Mr. Ericson replied, shutting the door behind him and sitting in a chair at Issac's desk, the room was rather small and messy, it wasn't that the room was dirty, but cluttered, stacks of paper littered the tables around the room, various models on top of that. A computer monitor, sat to the right of Issac displaying security cameras of the room Mr. Ericson and David where just in.
"By the way Richard, what was the conclusion? Where did he go?" Issac asked, throwing a small orange stress ball around as he did so.
"He did it." It took a while for Richard to answer, "He opened the portal to Equestria."
Issac stopped, and turned to face Richard Ericson, "He did what?! That was to never be done again!" Issac slammed his fist onto the desk, he reached for his phone and hit 999, "Execute plan Epsilon."
"Wait, what?" Richard said, having no idea what plan Epsilon was. On one of the screens he caught a glimpse of David and the other man who was taking him back up, two more guards came out from an adjacent hallway, stabbing a what looked like a syringe into David's neck and carrying him back down the hallway the two guards had came from. "Wait, what the hell! I told him he could leave! Where are they taking him?"
"They're taking him to a staging room, we are getting your nephew back." He said, placing his hands onto the desk in front of him, his hands together pointing at Richard.
"Why do we need him? he has done nothing." Richard said, still confused as to why Issac would execute this plan, finally it hits him. "Wait, by plan Epsilon, you mean that invasion protection plans you had on paper, she promised she would never attack us!"
"I know, but I don't trust her, you remember what they did to Robert." Issac said, reaching into a drawer beside him.
"That wasn't them, that was a problem with the portal and you know it!" Richard said, his face and voice having an angry air about them.
"Don't make me use this on you," He said, pulling his hand from the drawer, holding a gun, "I would hate to have to use this on you but I can't have insubordination, not now."
"Issac, have you gone mental?! We are friends!" Richard said, putting his hands up by his head, palms towards Issac.
"I am doing what needs to be done, you told me you wanted your nephew back, so this is my way of doing it." He said still pointing the gun at Richard, "So, do we have a deal?"
Richard could see no way out of this now, "I'm with you."
Issac smiled and put the gun to his side getting up from his chair, and placing it in the holster on his hip. "Good, now, let's go." He said walking to the door, "Oh, and one more thing," He paused, "You step out of line, and you're done." Issac said, opening the door out of his office.
"Understood." Richard said, standing up slowly and walking to the door, which Issac was holding open.
"Good, then let's go get your nephew back." He shut the door to his office behind them.
My Little Pony: Thunder Dash
Chapter 7: "You don't know how to fly?!"
Chapter 7: "You don't know how to fly?!"
Chapter 7:"You don't know how to fly?!"
We where reaching the main entrance to the castle when I broke the silence, "Thanks for letting me continue to stay with you." I said, turning to look at Twilight while we continued our trip back to the front door.
"Don't mention it, really, it's what friends do for friends." She said smiling back at me, "I hope Princess Luna is ok." The happiness of our conversation didn't last long, as she brought up the topic I had hopped to avoid.
"I'm sure she's doing ok, it's not easy dealing with that kind of stuff, but she has her friends, she has her sister, she has people who can help her." I said, trying to lighten the mood, "Besides, jerks will be jerks, it took me a while to get that, but I think I've got it now." That was a small lie as I hadn’t really gotten over dealing with jerks as I said.
"I suppose you are right, I think she'll be ok in the end." Twilight seemed to be only slightly confident in her answer, maybe she was worried about her turning back into Nightmare Moon, I couldn't really tell but that was my best guess.
The rest of the walk was silent, I didn't like it, but it did give me time to appreciate the architecture of the castle, it was such and elegant sight to behold, less complex then that of a gothic era cathedral, but far more beautiful then a modern building. We reached the entrance, where one of the guards led us back to the entrance to the grounds.
"Princess." The guard announced bowing to Twilight as we stood on the other side of the archway to the grounds. She bowed back as did I. Once we stood we turned and began our journey back to the train station. But, as we did there was a rather loud roaring sound up in the sky. Out from behind some clouds flew Rainbow dash, who was flying down towards where we stood. She landed a few moments later kicking up some of the dust on the ground as she did.
“Hey Twilight.” She said, standing up from her landing stance, she was quite a sight to behold in person, the cyan mare was slightly shorter then Twilight, but not by much, her wings where of a different shape then mine or Twilight’s. Her mane was messy, but it still maintained its color gradient even though it was rather tangled looking in spots.
“Hello Rainbow, what’s up?” She said.
“Oh, Rarity asked me to go find you. She’s been looking for you, she said she has somethings she wants to show us.” Rainbow said before taking a look over in my direction, “Who’s your new friend?”
“Oh, right, Rainbow Dash, this is Thunder Dash, Thunder Dash, this is Rainbow Dash.” She said with a smile.
“Hey.” I said, I couldn’t really think of anything else to say.
“Hey, so where you from?” She asked.
“Cloudsdale.” I blurted out the first place that came to mind.
“Hmm, ok.” She was looking me over as if I was under inspection for some crime, maybe she didn’t buy it.
“Ok.” She took the pressure of and turned back to Twilight, “Let’s go Rarity’s waiting for us.” The two of them started to take off.
“Wait.” I said, before they got too high off the ground, the two landed and turned to me, “Twilight wouldn’t it be better if we just teleported, I can’t fly remember.”
“Wait, what?! You, can’t, fly?!” Rainbow Dash said, surprised her jaw left hanging open.
“Heh, yeah I never really learned how.” Please buy it, please buy it, I wasn’t sure if I had to keep my reason for being here a secret, but I felt it would be best if I did.
“Ok…Sounds a little strange for someone living in Cloudsdale, but hey.” Rainbow Dash said, “You want to at least try it?”
“Rainbow, I can easily teleport him.” Twilight said.
“Nah, Twilight I think I can pick it back up quickly enough.” What was I saying, I turned to Rainbow, “Yes, I’ll try it.”
“How long will this take Rainbow? We have to catch the train back.” Twilight said, looking flustered with the cyan mare.
“Oh, it won’t take that long, maybe an hour.” Rainbow said, winking at Twilight.
“Alright, now, first thing you have to do is close your eyes.” Rainbow said, turning back to me.
I closed them as she instructed.
“Now, wings out and up.”
I did as she instructed, my wings moving like I’d done this before, wait, when had I ever done this before?
“Now, jump up and push your wings down, that’ll get you up into the air, then start flapping.” She said, I could here her and Twilight walking back a bit.
I waited till they stopped and jumped as high as I could while pushing my wings back down, lifting me up. “Like that?” I asked, my eyes still closed.
“I thought you said you couldn’t fly?” Rainbow’s voice sounded very far away, like really far, on top of that, this flapping felt instinctual, when had I done this, it felt like I’d done this before.
“What?”
“Open your eyes Thunder!” I could hear Twilight yell.
I opened them, “Holy!” I exclaimed, I was at least 20 feet in the air, I could see the tops of some of the taller buildings.
“You know how to get down?” Rainbow asked
I looked to where they were, should not have done that, “Ha, no, no I don’t.” At least I didn’t know exactly how, but my body seemed to know how to do it when I told it to.
“Just flap less, you’ll get closer to the ground as you do.” She yelled up to me.
I did just that, slowly but surely, I slowed down my flaps and slowly reached the ground before finally landing back onto the brick streets of Canterlot. Rainbow came over and hoof bumped me in the shoulder, “Thought you said you couldn’t fly.” She stated, giving me a bit of an odd look. I had to think up something on the spot.
“I thought I couldn’t, last time I flew was a while back, haven’t done it in a few years.” To be honest I wasn’t sure if I was lying, or what at that point, it certainly didn’t feel foreign to me I mean hell, I flew 20 feet into the air with my eyes closed.
“Heh, well, you want to try some other things?” She asked, Twilight just huffed in frustration in the background.
"I don't know, you guys should get to Rarity's, I don't want to keep you." I say, folding my wings back, not wanting to upset Twilight by making her wait.
"Aw, come on, it won't take that long, besides she want's us there in an hour." Dash replied.
"Dash, it'll take us an hour to get back at least." Twilight, said throwing her hoof into the air before face hoofing herself.
"You know you could just teleport, or fly there?" Dash remarked.
"No, no we can't, Thunder has never teleported, he could be sick for a week if he's not used to it!" She said, stamping her hoof in the ground, just then the train whistle could be heard in the distance. "And we missed the train."
"I think I'll be fine, to be honest, I don't get sick that often due to motion, I think I'll be fine." I say, winking at her, she relaxed a little, but was still concerned that they would be late.
"You sure? I wouldn't want you to be cooped up in a room for a week because teleportation doesn't agree with you." She said, her eyebrow raised.
I walked towards her, "Yes I'm sure, besides, if it happens it happens there's no way to know what'll happen to me unless I do it."
"Well, if you feel up to it, I guess we can try." She said, walking back towards me, "Just, don't complain if you end up being in bed for a week."
"Heh, I won't, I promise." I smirk, hoping I could even make this promise, but I might as well get it over with now if it happens.
"Alright, stand next to me and I'll put my wing over your back, we have to be touching so that the spell works correctly." She said, motioning me to stand beside her
I walked over to her, standing as close as I could get to her without bumping into her. Once next to her she placed her wing over my back and her horn began to glow.
“See you there Twi.” Rainbow said, waving her hoof and taking off back into the sky.
Within a few seconds Twilights horn shot out a pulse of light, the world around us fell away twisting and turning in front of my eyes, I quickly shut my eyes wanting this to end as soon as it began. Then, there was nothing, I opened my eyes and saw we where now in front of what I could only assume was carousel boutique, my eyes where to unfocused to quite make it out.
“You ok Thunder?” Twilight had moved in front of me while I was dazed, I shook my head, my vision clearing back to how it was before the teleportation. I felt a little queasy once my vision had cleared, focusing on anything made me feel like I had been spinning in circles for a while and my body hadn’t caught up with my now stationary position.
“Y-yeah, I think I’m fine.” I said, my vision still trying to reset itself, finally the spinning feeling stopping and my vision cleared. I could see the boutique in front of me, Twilight standing beside me looking me up and down to make sure that I was ok.
“Can you see me?” She asks, waving her hoof in front of my face.
“Yes Twilight, I can see your hoof.” I said, tracking her hoof’s movement with my eyes.
“Oh good, I was worried you’d gotten unlucky and would be bed ridden for weeks or blind.” She said with a smile, putting her hoof back down onto the ground.
“Wait, I could have gone blind? Why didn’t you tell me that?!” I sat, frustrated that she didn’t tell me that I could have lost my sight by doing that.
“There was a very small percentage chance that it would have happened. I’ve only ever heard of it happening once.” She awkwardly chuckles at the realisation that she should have probably told him about that fact before they teleported. “But, your fine and not sick after your first trip.”
“That is true, I didn’t get sick for my first time. I would have hated to left that kind of a first impression on your friends.” He said, giving his own awkward chuckle.
“They would have been fine with it in all honesty, some ponies just can’t handle teleportation very well.” She said, before motioning me to follow her to the door of the rather large building that was Carousel Boutique. “Now come on, they’re all waiting.”
“Heh, right behind you.” I say, before catching up to walk beside her as we approached the Boutique.
Deep within the science facility back on Earth….
In a hallway deep within the facility…
The two had been walking for a while, they had walked for a good 20 minutes down several hallways. "Ah Richard, remember the good old days when we used to work together. This'll be just like that I swear." Issac said, breaking the silence of their walk down the corridor.
"Issac, the good old days did not contain you having a gun strapped to your hip." Richard said.
"That is true, but come on, I'm not going to use it on you as long as you don't step out of line. Which shouldn't be a problem considering our goals align. I just want to go about it a little differently." He said, pointing towards a door that was nearing, "In there, that's where you'll see what I'm planning and trust me, you'll like what I have in mind." Once the two of them get close to the door, Richard begins to read the plaque placed on the door, and he understands Issac's plan almost immediately.
"No, no this is not how you're going to do this. NO!" Richard says, the words setting in his head.
"Heh, yes we are Richard, we are doing this," He puts his hand on his holster, "Unless you want to end up as the next corpse for the bio research team."
"Alright, alright I will," He said, putting his hands up again like he did before coaxing Issac to remove his hand from the gun.
“Good, now,” He opened the door to the room, waving Richard in with his hand, “After you.” Richard did as he was told, he walked through the door. Issac released his hold on the door and followed him in. Upon the door read the label, Lab 3: Genetic Mutation.
