The Spell

She levitated the book again reading through some of the information that was not important. She skimmed over the page until something caught her eye.Warning: Some ponies have never returned. Highly dangerous. May lead to death.

She took this into consideration and kept reading. She finally found what she was looking for but at the moment all she could think of of was the warning. Her mind raced with questions. She set the book down to sort through her thoughts.

What does it mean some have not returned? Where have they not returned from? Did they want to return? Are they okay? Are they alive?

She seriously reconsidered learning this spell but again she was still curious. So, she picked the book up again and read over what the spell did. As soon as she finished reading what it said, she jumped up in down out of pure joy. But, she soon stopped because the warning came into her mind again.

The spell was a spell that could transport any pony into a book, but it is very rare that they ever make it out. Now that she knew what the spell did all she could think about was the books she could actually live through. This was one of the things she has always dreamed of doing and now she can do that. She doesn't have to just read the books but she can live them.

She jumped around the library like when she was a filly. She knocked a couple books over but didn't notice because of her joy.

"This is the best day of my entire life!" she exclaimed with joy.

She ran to the shelves and picked out her favorite stories and some information books to test those out.

"This one and this one! Oooo, I have to try this one!" Twilight squealed with joy.

"Well I guess before I get too excited I should actually learn the spell." Twilight said aloud.

She went back over to her chair and picked the book up. She read it over. Her face distorted after she read the warning again. This was a serious problem for her.

She could have her dream come true but still she could get hurt or not return.

She knew where she wouldn't return from. She kept thinking about this but if she doesn't return from a book would that be so bad?

She could just pick her favorite books and go into them. She would be happy to not return but she would miss her friends.

She lit up when she came to a revelation. She could bring her friends with her, maybe not all of Ponyville since that really was a ll of her friends but maybe just the rest of her five best friends. Maybe a couple more, like their siblings.

She sat in concentration as she tried to learn the spell. She was attempting to transport a cup into a picture book so she could see if the cup made it their successfully.

After almost a dozen failed attempts she lay on her back and panted in exhaustion. She looked round for the cup. She would try one last time and if it didn't work she guessed she would have to give up.She lifted herself up enough that she was sitting almost upright.

She looked around but couldn't find the cup. She could have sworn that she left it right there in front of her on the table but it wasn't there. She thought maybe she knocked it over when she fell back but it wasn't on the floor. She sat on her haunches and scratched her head in confusion.

"Where could it have gone?" she silently muttered to herself.

"Where what went?" Spike asked.

"Nothing." she quickly retorted still frustrated he hadn't done his chores.

She picked up the picture book she was practicing the spell on and opened to the first page. Right there next to the main pony of the book sat the cup.

She jumped up and down around the library yelling "YES!" over and over again.

"What are you so happy about?" asked Spike.

"It worked!" yelled Twilight in response, "It actually worked!"

"What worked?" Spike asked.

"The Spell!" yelled Twilight.

Spike gave up on asking questions and started towards the kitchen for some food.

She ran out the door headed for Rarity's with both books. Even though the spell book was from all of them she wanted to tell Rarity first since she had delivered the spell book. She burst through the doors of Carousel Boutique excited to share the news.

Sweetie Belle looked over at Twilight confused as Twilight had never been one to do that.

"What can I help you with?" Sweetie Belle asked as she stepped out from behind the counter.

"I wanted to tell Rarity something. Do you know where she is?" twilight said.

"She should be in her room. i think she is working on a dress." Sweetie Belle replied.

"Thanks." Twilight said curtly as she rushed up the stairs.

She went in to Rarity's room. She was careful not to burst through the doors like she had when she arrived at the Boutique.

"Rarity!" Twilight called out.

There was no answer so Twilight decided to wait there for a while. She shifted through the assortment of fabrics and thread. She liked some of them but got bored after a couple of minutes.

She picked the picture book with the cup in it out of her saddle bag. She felt pride and joy when she looked at the cup sitting next to the pony in the book. Then she starting picking her way through Rarity's stuff again.

"Rarity really needs to organize in here." Twilight mumbled to herself.

She found a old book lying there. It had a leather cover with the word Diary across the front. She knew this was Rarity's Diary and she shouldn't be touching it but she felt curious. She flipped open to the first page and thought about what it would be like to be inside Rarity's diary.

"No Twilight this isn't yours. You wouldn't like it if Rarity read your diary let alone went into it, literally." Twilight scolded herself.

Despite just telling herself not to she was still curious. She had made a cup go into a book but what about a pony. A cup was like child's play to actually tele porting a live pony.

"Maybe this could be practice." she mumbled out loud.

Twilight's horn started to glow, with her face scrunched in concentration as sweat started to bead on her eyebrow. The aura around her horn grew brighter and bigger it started to slowly envelop her body until she was fully consumed by the aura. Her body rose about two feet off the ground and she opened her eyes and with a small gasp she was sucked into the diary, literally.
