Location...Ponyville

The sun was up at its highest point in the sky when I woke up today. Apparently I had fallen asleep after my confrontation with the princesses last night. When the train had arrived to ponyville it was late and the princesses order the train car to be detached from the rest so it may continue on its way to Manehattan. If that place is to be the pony version of Manhattan fuck that. I like the country better.

Nonetheless, now I was walking towards the town Ponyville, which was still in shambles from my first night here in Equestria. I could see signs of rebuilding, something I rarely got to see on earth amidst a world war. There was no time to rebuild what was lost because there was always a threat of a thermonuclear warhead or a SLAMS strike that would decimate the area again. With these threats in mind the US government did not allow for rebuilding of high danger zones. So seeing a burnt out building was not new to me.

Yet when I saw the look of the ponies, it had reminded me of where I had come from but back home we had an army close to a million strong but, here they only had an equivalent of a state guard or less. Not to mention the casualties that come with little or no protection to the civilian portion of the town. Homes, shops and, carts can be rebuilt but the loss of a life is one thing that can't be repaired. Most of the ponies I saw, as I approached what looked to be the very same building I entered that night, had cast down smiles. All of the things I know all too well.

Nonetheless when I entered the town square building or town hall. I saw almost the same thing I saw when I snuck in behind sparkle butt. Yes I know her name is Twilight Sparkle but come on it's catchy.

When I walked in and closed the door behind me suddenly all eyes were on me.

“Oh, Alex did you sleep well?” Luna asked as I saw a multicolored blur speed towards me.

Not being one to have my ass and floor meet so soon today, I sidestepped out of the way of the blur. Allowing said thing to simply hit the door behind me. Oh it pays to be trained.

“Why you big lumbering-”

“RAINBOW DASH!” someone shouted across the room.

“What!... I told you what he did to me!” Rainbow Dash spoke with a pained voice as she rubbed her head. No doubtedly where her head had struck the heavy wooden door.

“Rainbow Dash! please compose yourself darling,” a white unicorn said as she drew closer to Rainbow dash and myself “the princesses have told us he is no harm to us, though his sense of fashion is a bit. How should I say... plain.”

I looked at the unicorn “I do hope so, for I would hate it if my enemies saw me coming.” Wanting to add a little more flare to my comment I activated my camo. Most if not all the ponies in the room had their mouths agape well everyone except for Celestia and Luna.

I looked around the room while I was cloaked and walked slowly around since I was interrupted by Rainbow Dash when I had entered. I quite didn't get to see who was in the room other then the princesses.

Looking around the room I saw a few guards, weapons drawn of course as well as a few other ponies with horns some with wings and others without. Even their coat colored varied but, what I saw in the middle of the room brought a little discomfort to me. My M107 anti material rifle was being studied by non other than miss sparkle butt. I would of normally walked up and tell her not to but, from what my Cross_Com was telling me a round was in the chamber, the safety was off and she was adding pressure to the trigger. Not to forget she was looking down the fucking barrel.

Quickly running towards the center of the room where the rifle was, I jumped through the air causing my camo to give way as I quickly grabbed the M107 from her magical grasp. At the same time grabbing the attention of everyone again. (I’m quite the attention grabber this week huh?)

“Are you fucking stupid!?” I shouted to Twilight as I looked straight at her while she began to cower in her hooves. By now I had already recovered from my dive and began to place my rifle in its case which was conveniently on the table.

Everypony in the room was now in shock, even the princesses while I began to discharge the magazine from the riffle and removed the round from the chamber.

When I had placed the M107 back in it's case, closed it and secured it to my back I looked back at Twilight who was now surrounded by five other pastel colored ponies from the night I had arrived but, before I could resume my verbal assault on her a pegasus flew right to my face placing her face right in front of mine.

“Why do you have to be such a big meanie!? She was just looking at your toy to see how it worked!” the pegasus said while looking at me with an evil stare that reminded me of my sisters when she was pissed at me for whatever reason. She then flew back a bit to roughly poke me with her hoof “Now go tell her you're sorry before I give you the stare.”

The other four ponies around twilight switched their faces from bewilderment to anger snarls, hell even the orange one had steam coming from her nostrils. Not wanting to allow this pegasus whose coat color was somewhat so a light gold or dark gold. (Fuck it she was butter color.)  Not wanting this pony with wings to think she was the top cheese, I looked straight into her teal eyes like I would a trained spetsnaz soldier and spoke “No, I will not apologize for your friends idiotic fucktarded-” I would of continued but a certain sun goddess destroyed my ears causing me to... well attempt to shield my ears...

“Fuck!... that hurts, you know that?” I said as I removed hands from my ears and looked at a now disappointed Celestia.

“I will not tolerate your insults to my star pupil Alex.” Celestia said calmly as my hearing began to return. “She was simply observing your item is all.”

I looked at Celestia “Princess you remember what I told you about the weapon I left to the care of your captain.” Celestia nodded “This is the very same one I left in his care.” Celestia and Luna's face lit up with horror in their eyes.

“Y-you mean to tell me my student here would of been-” I stopped her.

“Yes.” was my simple reply since a pink pony decided to speak up.

“Wait, wait, wait, wait... what am I missing> first you come in here being MR. Cool then you disappear then you reappear to take your toy away from Twilight. Scream at my friends, then the princess knows what it is IM TOTALLY LOST!” the pink one said as she sat down on her ass.

I was gonna speak but Luna beat me to the punch. “Miss Pie the toy in which you are refering to is a weapon of great power and from what Sir Alex has told us the very thing your friend Twilight was toying with could of very well... Uhmm, here the toy in which she was studying was the very same that beheaded that Timberwolf you found.”

The pink pony's hair or mane or whatever just plain deflated with the sound that a balloon would make if you let out all the air from it. (What the fuck?) She then looked to me.

“You mean to say-” tears began to form in her blue eyes “mean she could of-” I stopped her there as I knelt down to her level and cleared the tears that were forming.

“Don't dwell on it, I’m just glad I stopped her.” I then stood up and looked at all in the room bringing my hands behind my back. “All righty then! now that we’ve averted a complete and utter mess I should say my apologies and hellos so we may begin this meeting. My name is Major Alex Nicks from the United States of America. I am part of a special unit in its armed forces. I am Human and I am omnivore. “ I saw one of the ponies who earlier was looking at a piece of parchment raised his hoof. Knowing his question I simply said “Yes, I eat meat and no I don't eat pony meat so you all are safe.”

I then looked at Twilight “And miss Twilight Sparkle I will apologize to you because you did not understand what you were examining but, I will need to talk to you and your brother Shining Armor later.”  she nodded along with her friends around her. “And to you to miss-” I said as Pinkie Pie said

“Fluttershy.”

“And to you to miss Fluttershy I do understand you acted on behalf of your friend and I do wish for all this to end peacefully.” I looked at the princess “I do believe that is all from me.”

The meeting went just as well as any other one I’ve been in...okay, absolute lie. The ponies had many... many...many fucking problems in this town.

One, being all the guards in the town were injured and few in number; which unfortunately for me I was asked to play sheriff for the time being.

Two, of the many buildings that were destroyed the orphanage was amongst them. Orphans just can't catch a break back home or here.

So since the Embassy that was to be built I told the princesses that I would house the orphaned children in the embassy since one man has no use for a mansion till the orphanage was rebuilt.

At first they were against it but, being as the embassy would have high walls and many rooms they allowed it. (What? I may be an ass at times but, I can still be a nice guy when I want to...) Along with all this I signed and made official the Ponyville Treaty. Am I gonna get flak from this back home? Fuck yeah I am. Am I gonna regret being a fucking politician? Fuck yes. And am I gonna bitch about any of this?.... maybe.

Nonetheless right now I was to meet up with Twilight and her friends at a local cafe on request of Celestia. Granted I could say no but, seeing how I have nothing better to do and I was only given 100 bits. My simple choice was 'fuck it I’m hungry'.

When I had arrived at the cafe I saw the ponies I was to meet all of them sitting around a mushroom table?  Not questioning the table I continued to walk towards the six ponies only for the one known as Pinkie Pie to look towards me and say... okay shout is the right word.

“HEY ALEX! OVER HERE!”

“My word Pinkie Pie please control yourself.” Rarity said as she looked my way along with Applejack, Rainbowdash, Fluttershy, and Twilight. They all fucking stared at me like they just saw a ghost. (no pun intended)

I sat at the table on a bale of hay while the six were staring at me. “What are you all gawing at me for? Did I step in something or do something inappropriate?” I asked as I noted there expresions.

Applejack spoke “It aint that partener it's just that...” She stopped looking for the right words to use.

Rarity started up next “To help my dear friend Applejack. The reason for our stares is we never actually seen you so...” She stopped as well.

I think it's an answer half and let someone else take a jab time.

Twilight was at least more direct “What they mean to say is we never seen you without your-” I cut her off.

You know I'm fast on my feet in combat but, put me in a social environment I’m as slow as a high school nerd. “Without my armor and gear? that is true since my stay I’ve only been without it close to, maybe a few hours at most, what? did you all think humans were born with gray cloth skin and composite body armor?” They all nodded their heads. “Well no, we are not born like that and I am not going further than that." most of them blushed except for Rainbow Dash.

"I dont get it why wont you tell us?" she asked as the blush on the other five had intensified.

I was about to speak but a waiter had approached me with a menu. (Saved by the bowtie)

"Excuse me sir, but what would you like to drink." he asked as he levitated a notepad and pencil.

Looking at the the listed drinks I was not surprised just tea's and water but, under alcoholic beverages I saw a few things listed so I asked "Uhm, what is the strongest drink you have?"

He looked at me then said "We have hard cider in stock fresh from Sweet Apple Acres."

"Perfect, I'll take the largest glass you have and for a meal I'll take Spaghetti if you please." I passed him the menu.

"Of course I'll be back with you momentarily with everyone's drink and food." he then left the table.

Applejack began to look at me strangely when the waiter left "yall sure you'll be able to drink that pardner?"

I looked at Applejack "Yeah.. why you ask Applejack?"

"Because what you ordered would give Bigmac a hard time to drink and he can just about drink anypony under the table." she said as the waiter arrived with our food and drinks.

"Ill be fine." I said as I grabbed the drink the waiter had set in front of me. Funny thing... when I downed the pint all eyes were on me again. "Why is everyone- rr everypony(still getting used to that) looking at me funny?"

This time Fluttershy spoke "Because you just drank what I would normally ask of Applejack to sterilize cuts on critters around my home."

I looked at Twilight this time "What's the proof of the drink?"

"About 20%" she replied.

"Really? just 20%? This is nothing to what I would drink on base back home." I said as I began to spin my fork in my meal "wait till the embassy is built I'll show you girls what a real drink is about."

That got a response from Rainbow Dash "Really? you can make something better than Applejack's hard cider?"

"Hell yeah I can but..." I looked to Applejack  "I would need wheat, corn and of course apples."

"I can get you that but it will cost yah" she said as she began to eat her daisy sandwich? I'm never gonna get used to these ponies.

“I bet it will Applejac-”

“Alex?” a small but familiar voice called from behind me.

“Scootaloo?” Rainbow dash asked.

I spun around on my seat to look at the little one I had saved on my first night here. “How you been little one? You haven't been going around looking for Timberwolves again have you?” That brought out a light but timid laugh from her.

“No, I haven't been looking for Timberwolves but, I did hear that the Embassy the princesses are building for you will also be used an orphanage.” she said as a small smile began to form on her face.

Fluttershy looked at me after Scootaloo's remark. “I was meaning to ask you Alex, are you really going to open up the doors to the young fillies and colts to the embassy?”

“Yeah are you alex you?” Pinkie pie added.

“Yeah, why wouldn't I? for one I'm not a complete ass, and right now you ponies need to rebuild homes, stores and your infrastructure of this town. That and seeing as normally orphanages end up with the short end of the stick I thought 'why not house them there? that way they are safe from harm and they all have a room to themselves' You have to remember, I’m not just a soldier I’m human.”

"What does that mean?” Pinkie asked as she downed an entire cake in ONE FUCKING GO!?!?! How do you do that? I mean good god what the honest fuck!?

Still a bit disgusted I answered her question. “You know something? I never actually been asked what it means to be human. I know what I’ve been taught by my parents about manners and being kind but...  never been asked.”

“Really?” Twilight said as she had finished her daisy sandwich.

“Really... I’ve never been asked what it means to be human.” Looking at my now empty plate “ I think it's about time I headed back... I'll talk to you girls next time. I got up from the bale of hay left that I was seated in; left the required amount plus tip and began to walk to the detached train car.

“Alex!” someone shouted behind me.

Not wanting to ignore the voice I stopped my walk and turned around to be greeted by a orange filly that had lept in to my arms. “What’s with the jumping little one?”

Scootaloo looked up from her positions in my arms as she held a scroll in her mouth that she quickly released from her hold. “I-I just wanted to ask you something...” she said timidly replied. “I-I WANT YOU TO BE MY DAD!” she shouted then hid her face in my arm.

The world for me at least seemed to stop in its tracks. So many questions seemed to fill my head. Can I adopt a little filly? How would I raise her? Would she be happy with me? Am I ready to become a dad? Will I have the time needed to bring her up? All those questions began to fill my head. But, I was snapped out of my trance by a moist feeling on my left arm. Looking at the source was none other than a saddened Scootaloo.

“I-I-I knew it... n-no pony wants a non flying pegasus as a daughter...”she began to cry into my arm “Rainbow Dash didn't want me when I asked her... and n-now y-you!”

I dont know what it was but, I felt my heart just sank to new lows. Its one thing to lose a parent but, an other to be rejected by someone or pony in this case who you want to be your parent? God did you put me here to live a new life and if so I accept. Looking up from the orange ball of fur in my arms and staring out to the sky above to see the clear skies of blue I felt my answer arrive. “I’ll be your dad, Scootaloo I’ll be your dad.”

“What do you mean he failed at taking the castle?”

“Sir, Prince Blueblood had held the princesses tied up in the throne room but a Creature unknown to the world appeared from thin air and killed him.”

“What do you mean unknown was it a yak, pony, or dragon? Answer me or I’ll send you to the pit!”

“Sir we simply do not. It stood on two legs and wielded some kind of stick that cause Blueblood's head to explode sir.”

“If what you say is true...then we must change the plans to accommodate for this unseen variable. Send word to my collaborators for we must meet tomorrow and discuss these new developments. Now begone Shadow Dagger.”

“As you wish sir.”
