Author's Note

I did that cliff hanger because I know a quite a bit of you hate it so much. That's my way of trolling! When writing this chapter, I was unsure where to go with it. I felt like I needed to write a good one, but I feel as though this one is a bad way to continue the chapter before.
Enjoy!
PS: Author's Notes at the bottom.
Celestia POV

Time Away...

Chris' body was still, the air was calm as it could be. I sat next to Luna, and peering over him was Twilight, doing her best to use her talent. A magical surge, one unlike any other, or so had Twilight explained. Chris was pretty much in a coma from the sudden influx of magic, and it would be up to his body when he would finally adapt and make thaumic nervous system. Every once and a while, Chris' body would move, almost on its own. Luna told me he was still sleeping.

I was scared. Chris was damaged, almost to the point of no hope of repair. Somehow he kept whatever he had left, and locked it down tight, leaving only a fraction of himself left untainted.

"I don't understand...How could he have magic? He had none when he got here." Twilight grunted.

"Do you think it was because of what Zecora said?" Luna asked her.

"How do you explain the griffins or every other race in Equestria?"

"Because they lived and adapted an immunity. Chris is fresh blood." Luna replied, looking around the room. "It is the only reason as to why he is having a magical surge. Or why he's in a magical coma."

Sitting down, I rubbed my temple. Twilight looked over at me, a worried look quickly flashed over her face. "I'll be fine Twilight."

"I'm more worried about him. This hasn't happened to anypony before."

"But he isn't a pony, or from this world for that matter." Luna noted while she studied Christopher more. "We believe his ability to sense the spirits who not yet decided to cross over to the other side has played a roll in this. That, and along with whatever happened in our old castle."

I watched as Twilight scratched her chin, carefully thinking over Luna's words. She nodded and her horn glowed again. Chris flew gently into the air in Twilight's magic. "More thaumic nerves are being generated. A whole new system. We must study this closely." Her horn glowed brighter and Chris' left arm began to glow a dark red aura. It was almost the color of rust or blood maybe... "His focus point, left arm, while it seems his right arm draws in the mana around him.

Luna crooked her head. "A unicorn's horn draws in and pushes out magic. Could humans have a way to generate and use magic more efficiently? Two separate points where his right arm draws in and left arm that pushes out magic?"

This too also got me thinking. Luna and Twilight together were like two of the best thinkers in Equestria. They always asked better questions than I ever did. Though, I usually got more information than they did at times...at times... "Luna, think, Chris' magical potential could be equivalent to an alicorn's magic. Maybe not..." Twilight countered. She lowered Chris back onto the ground. "He doesn't draw in as much as he uses it, but he could last longer than most unicorns."

Luna giggled. "He already does."

I brought my hoof to my face with a snap. Twilight winced at the sound of my metal covered hoof reaching my face. "Luna..."

"In any case!" Luna continued to giggle. "When do you think he'll wake up?"

Twilight seemed to already know, I did too though. "When his thaumaturgal system is finished."

"Just a question. If he were to turn into a pony, what kind of alicorn do you think he'd be?" Luna asked, looking at me with a sly grin. "Alicorn of Spirits, or Alicorn of the Other Side?"

"I would think he'd be the Alicorn of Spirits, but I'm sure there's a better name..." Twilight sighed.

Dammit! Why was it so cold? One moment I was yelling at some bitch, the next, I wake up in some twisted world. There was a dense fog everywhere I looked, and I could only see maybe ten or fifteen feet in. I watched as Celestia along with Luna and Twilight talk to one another, but I was unable to hear them. They also seemed to shift unlike the guards around the room. Like...whenever I tried to look directly at them, they seemed to bed around, like it was trying to avoid me.

"Where the fuck am I?" I asked aloud, still trying to grasp the situation I was currently in. My voice echoed across the room, and no one answered.

Taking this time, I quickly began to think of all the reasons, and the place that I am in and how I got here and escape. I got angry at that chick, now I'm here. What set me off? What does it have to do with me?"

Answer to number one: I got pissed because that chick asked a stupid question. She insulted me. Hurt me...

Answer to number to: I am currently getting married to a noble solar Princess named Celestia, who is also a goddess.

The next question I asked myself; Where was this? Was it some subspace? Very well likely. I've already proven more than one space can exist by coming here to Equestria. So where was I? Where was I that I can see myself laying on the ground, and see the ponies I actually kinda care about. With what feelings I am able to emote, to act out, actually feel...

Anger grew inside of me. I was very angry. Very... My hands became fists.

"This beast knows..." I heard a hiss in the fog.

"WHERE AM I!?"

"Where we walk in between the void, and the world you do not belong." Another said.

"Infection, the beast talks, we must cleanse it."

"Give it life, death does not wish to touch it yet."

"Give the beast magic!"

"Hhhisssssssss! NIGH! Doka nocutrn! Magic does not wish to touch infection! It will hurt! Infection will kill everthing! We have read the mind of the beast!"

"Just surface thoughts really..." I scratched my head. "I don't actually want to kill."

"Truth! It speaks back, recognizes speech we speak!" In a flash of movement, I watched as three cloudy creatures. All three of them had no real form, or perhaps these were their forms. "Magic touches life!"

"Those who direct magic, direct the flow of life and death."

"Those who direct the flow of life and death, walk on the line of divinity!

"This one has walked on such a line in another time. It carries a fragment of the spark of the wills."

"Infection is no longer...Scab, white cell. Cleanse the wound..."

All of them drew closer to me. It was their eyes what gave away their heads, and they had used their arms to hold me. "LET ME GO!" I shouted, trying to pull my arms away from them.

The hissing ghost grabbed my head and stared directly into my eyes. "Fear, anguish,...no peace in this soul. The mind has been warped by magic already." Its fingers drove themselves into my head. I could feel it in my brain. My eyes twitched and my whole body began to move on its own. "You are not to be wasted. You know of the demented and the angelic. You choose no other path but your own. You allow no one to hurt you, no more. Yet...You allow peace, you are willing to forgive and make peace happen.

"P-peace....b-by...a-an-any...means!" I felt more tendrils of smoke enter my body and touch my heart. "NO!"

"It fights a war it began twice before this life. A war that still rages on...A war to determine whether it uses its ability, or shuns it. The hands around my heart made my panic rise more. It hurt every second my heart beats. "Loyal to himself and to others. Kind not to himself but to others. Brings happiness to others but not himself. Honest of his feelings, but not to himself. He holds himself back."

Another set of hands reach deep inside of me, grabbing my spine. "Actions speak louder than words true...but he believes that words hold power. They do...You hold yourself high, but equate yourself in others lives. You think that the more you know, the more powerful you are."

All had pulled out and flew into one another. In their place was a giant cloud which turned into a pink door. No time at all, the world around me began to crack. As the world began to fall apart, I noticed in its place was a dark void. Just under me, the floor began to crack, and I started to make my way to the door. I pulled it open and ran in.

It closed behind me, and with my heart still racing, I was greeting with another sight.

Ahead of me was a massive door, a double door. It was in the shape of a giant archway. On the bottom were two bulky looking guards wearing bones for armor. The door was blood red and covered in glowing yellow runes. I didn't know what was going on, but I felt like I was getting pulled closer to the door.

"You shall not pass. You do not have the coin."

"What is this place?" I asked the guard to the left.

"This is the door to the spirit world, and only the souls of the dead may enter." The guard on the right answered and approached me. "Living flesh is not welcome, why are you here?"

"He is here to learn his purpose." The cloudy figures appeared to the left and right of me. "It is time his powers fully awaken. He has been asleep for a long time. A Medium should not shun their ability."

"I'm nothing special!" I cried out, frustrated at what was going on. "I'm born of weaker blood. Hell...My mother is better at it than me..."

The clouds moved in. "You are not weak, your mother held herself back. She resented being what she was, and look where it got her. She will know not of the lives she could of saved. Now, you..."

"It is almost time Scab. The spiritual world is wounded. These guards will fail in their duties soon, and a flood of souls will torment the world..."

"GOD FUCKING DAMMIT! NO! NONONONONONNONONO! I'M NOT SOME FUCKING HERO!" I roared with rage.I grabbed the cloud somehow and threw it off to the side. "I'm a father! I'm a survivor! I am NOT! A! HERO!" As I continued to yell, the world began to dull and grow black. I found myself falling onto the floor, trying to fight the sudden tiredness. "N-...not...a....hero...

"The flood is gone..." Twilight murmured. "The energy is finally dying out."

I look back at Chris, frowning, then looked at my stomach. "Damn these hormones...."

"Not a hero..." Chris whispered, still sleeping.

"He's dreaming now." Luna said. "I don't think I should enter his mind though. His heart rate is still high, which means he could panic and shut me out...painfully."

I sighed and stood up, picking Chris up too with my magic. "I'll take him to our chambers. I'm tired and in dire need of rest."

"Sweet dreams Celestia." Twilight said, running up to give me a quick hug. "Don't let the bed bugs bite."

And they didn't, that is for sure. Instead of walking back, I teleported both of us back to our chambers. I set Chris down on the bed and sat down before him. My eyes were locked on his rising and falling chest. I was just happy to see that he could breath, to still be alive. I wasn't sure what was going to happen to him, or what's going to happen later when he wakes.

He shifted in his sleep, and whimpered. My heart panged in my chest. Eyes closed tightly, I bit my upper lip. I saw the scar on his neck again.

"How alone were you?" I asked before letting loose the water gates.

AUTHOR'S NOTES

A bit of an issue here and there I'm sure there is no doubt. I know not many of you like the fact Chris is up-down-left-right about his mood, and just how quickly he shifts in his moods. So keep this in mind. PTSD, Bi-Polar, and whatever else you read this chapter. He's nucking futz, let's just say that.
