"It's Yours..."
Recovery Along the Way [Final Chapter]
Previous ChapterNext ChapterLeading Chris along in locked arms was his daughter, Terrestria, who helped the ill looking Chris. Chris moved his legs slowly down a long isle towards Celestia who stood waiting at the end of the room. Around them ponies, a couple of Griffins including Hawk, a large bulky pegasus with bright orange mane, and a numerous number of other creatures that inhabited Equestria.
"Slowly now, don't hurt yourself dad." Terrestria said.
He weakly chuckled. "Still feels weird, knowing that you'll grow up to help me like you are now." He rubbed his chest which had a scar running straight down down it, stopping at his nearly hidden bellybutton. "Thanks by the way."
"No prob." She nodded, helping Chris take his next step.
"Too bad I'm not going to be having any fun for the next few weeks. Price to pay for life I suppose."
Terrestria giggled at him. "Mia never really talked about you, often she said you were a troubled stallion, other times, she called you a loyal brat."
Chris wanted to laugh, but feared ruining the stitching on his chest. As they walked down the red carpet they were just simply taking their time, while everyone around them had either sad smiles or worried glances. "Perhaps I was all that...but, I don't even remember all of what happened to me. Something about the rewiring of my brain, could've gotten rid of those memories for good, time will only tell really."
"Good, being in pain constantly is something I wouldn't give to my worst enemy. A swift stab to the chest, or decapitation will do the trick just as well."
"You take too much after me, Terra."
"Hush, we'er here."
And that they were. Standing before them was Princess Celestia, and behind her was her younger sister, Luna. Celestia helped Chris take a few wobbling steps up to the platform, and already Chris had seemed pale and out off breath. They waited until he could recover himself so he could act properly. Until such time however, Celestia just stared at a new scar, the one on his chest, and remembered, just had to remember the other scars that used to adorn his body like a plague.
"Is the groom ready?" Chris nodded to Luna. Luna turned to Celestia. "And the bride?" Celestia nodded, still staring at Chris.
Luna cleared her throat, and readied her voice. "We gather here to day to take part in a ceremony-"
"Stop staring at it." He whispered to Celestia.
-"in divine matrimony. For-"
"I can't help it...I-"
"Hush, listen to me."
"-thousands of years, we have lived on-"
"O-okay, I'm just glad you're alive."
Chris turned his head to Terrestia then back to Celestia. "Yeah, so is our daughter. Whattya thank of that?"
"She's sweet. Doctors confirmed it's actually her."
"-during this time she ruled alone, scared and hurt by my own failure and yet-"
Chris smiled. "Yeah, had that feeling myself when I opened my eyes in that room."
"-she taught courage, honor, and the value of valor between all of-"
"Sorry I had to work, I didn't think you were going to wake up for another couple days..."
"Think nothing of it, Kingdom before the King."
"Speaking of, Luna and I believe you're going to be a great leader. You have a great mind."
"Save that for the vows." He joked.
"And to the Groom, who comes from a land far away."
"She likes to speak huh?"
"She likes hearing herself talk. Don't exactly blame her, she has a nice voice."
"-grew up from a poor family who struggled to get by, and an abusive father who tortured him day in and out. None the less he-"
"She's been looking at me funny lately, what exactly do you think is the cause of this?"
Celestia shrugged. "Ask her." Celestia knew, she didn't want to tell. She heard about Robin Knight. "I'm sure she'll tell you."
"-with great will of his own, he broke the chains that which were forged for nothing else but to hold him down while the abuse let on. For that he earned a great deal, but lost what made him kinder than the rest of us. A battle long fought is a battle drawn long and wears on the mind." Luna took a deep breath. "He won that battle, and had to fight to survive to save three fillies who were searching for their purpose. He fought another with myself, when I had claimed he hurt my sister, and did things that weren't right. But I saw him protect her, help her to deal with her own pains. What we see here, a stallion with a great mind, a great heart" The crowd laughed a little. "-and a hero."
"I believe they're ready." Cadence said, happy for the occasion.
"Are you two ready for your vows?"
They nodded, and Celestia began. "Honestly Chris, I have no idea what to say that hasn't already been said, or what you don't already know. I've spent thousands of years with many partners who've waged wars for and against my name. I've lived for so long, for a while, I didn't think I would actually ever feel like this. But then I met you, you warned me of those who would try to take advantage of me, and offered me your home as refuge until my sister came to get me. There, we made our first beginnings of love. We saw each other, I saw your deep blue eyes, and saw a world of hurt. I can't believe I'm here now...It all seems like one long dream. I love you, Chris, I really do."
Chris felt a tear well up. Surprised by it for a second, he relaxed and let it fall past his face. "Look at me, I haven't cried and actually known about it for a while. Usually, I pass out. Look at me here, with you. Is this the reward for my efforts, reward for my pains, and look. I'm a half-breed human-pony now. A new life, a new body, a fresh mind, a new heart, and....a new wife. Words I have in my head aren't even coming out because I am surprised that you stuck with me. I had girl friends who lied about loving me, who lied about caring about me. But when I look at your kingdom, soon to be ours, I see how much good you bring into these ponies. No signs of war or trouble anywhere to be seen. Yet, I find myself still looking out towards the horizon because deep down I have a lust for war just as much as I have a lust for you." Celestia blushed. "I love you, Celestia, you brought the light back into my life. Thank you."
Luna slipped a hoof over her face to cover her eyes, pride baring er from showing her face. She wiped away the tears and smiled. "I must say a few short words myself. As princess of Equestria, as a sibling, I recognize this marriage. Does anyone have any words to prevent this unity?"
Terrestria raised her hand, Chris felt like rolling his eyes. "You guys are gonna do the nasty!" The crowd erupted into roaring laughter. Celestia blushed and looked away while Chris found himself laughing, only slightly. "TELL THEM ALREADY!"
Luna shook her head with a long chuckle. "Alright. You may now kiss the groom."
Celestia recovered in time to hear Luna's words. She brought her head close to Chris' cute little pony ear. "When your heart is up to it, we need to have a long...ah-hem...talk."
Chris grinned from ear to ear. "Count on it."
"Mind if Luna's joins?"
"Incest?"
"I adopted her as my sister. We came at the same time, but in different places and families."
Chris kissed her deeply, enjoying her mouth and tounge. "As long as she's up for it."
Behind him he heard. "Oh, you bet." Luna purred, slapped him with her tail and wondered off.
"OOOoooohh, myyy!"
With the reception underway, Chris found himself in the arm of his daughter. Celestia was off speaking to a group of Zebras who looked all too excited about the growing bulge in Celestia's stomach. Chris had some light sparkling cider in a glass he slowly spun around in his hands, watching the cider quickly race around the walls of the glass. He felt calm, but a growing sense of fear took over.
"What happened in your timeline...that made you decide to save me?"
"Mom gave in to the darkness. She wanted her sadness gone, and every time I asked about you, she would get angry, like it was her fault you died. As she gave into the darkness she became Black Hole Sun, and a great battle between her and Luna went on to destroy most of the world. They unleashed their godly powers and in seconds, Equestria itself is nothing but dust. Luna felt herself growing weaker as her connection to the moon was growing ever weaker. She used her very soul to send me back in time with a vial to restart your heart."
"So...without you, Celestia wouldn't be smiling."
Terrestia nodded. "Yeah...."
"Good girl...Exactly what I would do."
"That's what Luna said. I feel bad for Robin though, he didn't make it through the fight to protect Princess Twilight. It still amazes me that I get to see all the great heroes of Equestria now."
"Oh, my poor-poor second heart."
"Oh hush Dad, you know I care about you the most! I mean, before mom fell, she would laugh at all the stupid things you've done, of course, I would too, but being two hundred years old."
"So who's Robin?"
"Luna's son, my half-brother."
"You mean we did it? How did I do that?"
"Alicorns have great powers. As Lua told me, she extracted some of your DNA to impregnate herself."
"Ah..."'
"Yeah, don't worry about me not knowing the birds and the bees. I've had my fair share of fun."
Chris snapped his hands to his ears. "LALALALALALA!!!! CELESTIA! I'M HEARING THINGS I SHOULDN'T HEAR FROM HER!!!!"
Over where Celestia was, she heard him and laughed along with the Zebras. "Pardon me, I must aid my husband. Enjoy your evenings." She wandered over to Chris and Terrestia, who was laughing her silver hide off. "What's going on here?"
"Our child is experienced with the horizontal tango."
Celestia coughed and turned away. "I refuse to allow her to do so anymore. She needs to learn how to be a proper princess!"
"No!" Terrestia snarled. "No way am I getting into some fru-fru dress and stacking books on my head!" She took off with speed, flying over the crowd and pushed the doors open.
Celestia sighed contently. "So many mannerisms...I wonder if the elements had anything to do with her upbringing. Especially, Rainbow Dash."
Chris leaned his body against her body, and closed his eyes. Celestia looked down at him and saw a sad look on his face. His mix of human and pony, his body itself the product of a failed transmutation. He was completely covered in fur and had a slight snout, like the size of a filly's snout. He was a little taller than Celestia now, with the Earth Pony part that was put into his creation, this made him a bit taller, stocky. He still had hands, but his feet and legs were replaced with a pony's legs and hooves. One thing that she noticed even before he woke up a week after surgery, he had a cutie mark.
His cutie mark was a large archway and a small white orb right under it. The archway looked more like a horseshoe, or at least in Celestia's opinion. His hair was the same, but he had no tail to have. The same brown over the copper orange color. His sea blue eyes even while closed, were beautiful now more than ever before now that they stood out. Too bad he wasn't able to wear Hawk's suit she made for him, he grew like a whole foot with his transformation.
"Tia?" Chris' voice was soft and quiet.
She drew her hoof through his mane and asked, "Yes, Chris?"
"Love you."
"Love you too." She smiled, and enjoyed her time with Chris laying on her side.
