Author's Note

Sorry for the month delay, I got lazy as well as not knowing what to write because I didn't have any ideas at the time. I'll try to get back to writing frequently as much as I used to but now I might need YOUR help in telling me what direction my story should go. Anyways thanks for bearing with me.

Training and War

It was a training week at the Castle grounds as Chris and the Captain were overseeing the royal security ponies training, keeping in shape and getting them ready to defend the castle at a minutes notice. Ever since a anonymous threat has been made to Celestia and Luna, the airmen has authorized the defense conditions to "Sunrise" meaning that ponies will be searched and entry will be strict unless you have the proper credentials. As inconvenient as that sounds to most ponies Chris knows that security takes precedence over convenience.

"Sir if I may ask, what would happen if the person making the threat decides to attack?" The Captain asks as Chris encourages one pony who was doing well with offensive formations.

"Then this whole place will turn into chaos." He responds as the Captain gulps nervously.

"As long as we show that we can defend the castle and the city, it will deter any threat from carrying out their plan." Chris reassures him as they continue to watch the training taking place.

A few hours later

Celestia and Luna watch from the top of the steps as Chris disrobed his top half and set it on the ground, he takes the beam saber from the nearby pony as he activates it.

"Initiate training phase 1, setting Normal." he commands as Star Swirl uses his magic to create dark creatures with dark energy blades as they surround him. Luna looks anxious as Celestia looked on but secretly excited inside. Chris twirls his saber as the creatures started to attack one by one, he blocks and parries the attacks quickly and with such speed as the ponies stare in awe. He twirls his saber to the left and right as he kicks one square in the chest and slashes one across the neck, decapitating it. Luna gasps but her older sister remains unfazed.

He takes a few steps back as the creatures gain leverage, he blocks the ones attacking from the rear as he rapidly blocks and deflects the attacks. He makes a front flip over a group and strikes one the creatures in the middle, slicing it in half as the next group charge. He runs and slides on his knees, knocking out the front three creatures as he gets up spins his blade to counter the oncoming attacks. He knows his one saber isn't doing much so he is going to even the odds,

"Next saber now!" He orders as the nearby overwatch pony throws the second saber from the tray as Chris leaps in the air to catch it, activating it as he kicks one down and blocks multiple attacks from both sides, his saber cutting down a few before he gains some distance to catch his breath.

"Jeez star swirl i said normal! And Phase 1! What Phase and setting did you put this in?" he asks as Star swirl grins,

"Phase 2 hard difficulty sire." he replies as Celestia giggles, causing luna to gasp,

"Sister! He needs assistance!" She pleads as Celestia shakes her head.

"He seems to be managing the task." She says calmly as Luna watches, worried for her mate.

Chris manages to hold one creature with a block as he knocks it back and stabs one behind him, "Tricky bastard." Chris smiles as he throws his saber in the air to throw out three daggers, all hitting their three targets respectively. He rolls in reverse and grabs his saber as he counts five left.

"Alright... lets get this over with." He says as he takes a deep breath as the royal bodyguard begins his offensive, twirling his sabers as the creatures start to fall back. Chris attacks them, spinning from the right and spins from the left as his blade goes from left side to right side, upper left corner to upper right corner. He does a backspin kick to one and uses the momentum to slash at the other, with four left he throws his saber as it impales one and uses his other saber to counter an attack and twirls to slash at another.

Celestia was very impressed as Chris managed to lower the numbers till it was just one on one. They get into a stalemate fight until the creature gets the upper hand and starts to choke Chris. Luna gasps as she screams for the training to end, but Chris kicks the creature off as he regains his stance, the creature surprisingly does a drop kick knocking him down. Chris gets up and kicks it as it tries to charge, having it on the ground Chris grabs his saber and attempts to execute the enemy but the creature grabbed its blade and blocks the attack.

Chris and the creature battle for a good five minutes after, blocking each others strikes and attacks, their most exotic moves occured when they started to spin their sabers front and back for a good few seconds before engaging in a deadlock. They both push each other off as Chris pulls out his dagger, the creature screeches and charges before Chris throws the dagger, hitting it dead center in the head, causing it to collapse and disappear in dust.

The training finally finished, Chris deactivates his sabers and pants, he looks up to see the two Princesses stare with awe at his unique fighting abilities. He smiles as he looks down at his custom made sabers,

"Thank God for my Star Wars geek side." he whispers to himself as he takes a towel to dry himself off.

"Alright defenders, training day is done you are all free to enjoy the day to yourselves. The rest of you go back to your posts and wait till the mids shift relieves you." He announces as all the ponies acknowledge and went about their business, he wipes himself off and approaches the two sisters as he kneels.

"I trust you are satisfied with the training?" he asks as Celestia and Luna look at each other, the Sun goddess being the first to smile and show her approval but Luna looked at Chris with a death glare.

"Meet me in my chambers at half past three." She orders as she flies off.

Chris gulps as he lets out a long sigh, "Ahhhhh fuck... shes going to kill me."

Celestia pushes him along with her muzzle, "She does this when she is upset, it is very entertaining and I love her for it."

He shrugs his shoulders as he gathers his things and heads into the castle to have a discussion with his mare.

In Lunas bedchambers

"HAST THOU LOST THEIR MIND!?! YOU MADE THY PRINCESS AFRAID FOR HER LOVES SAFETY! WHAT GOOD IS A MATE IF HE DOES NOT CARE FOR HIS BELOVED!?!" Luna bellows out in her royal canterlot voice as Chris covers his ears.

'Luna, love, remember what I said about using the big voice?" He reminds her as Luna gives him another dose of higher decibels.

"NO CHRIS YOU WILL LISTEN AS WE CARE FOR YOUR WELL BEING!" She yells out as Chris rubs his ears.

"Funny way of showing it with the yelling." He says as Luna calms down and walks to him,

"I thought you were going to be hurt. I don't think I can bear the pain of losing someone like you." She says sadly as Chris pulls her into an embrace.

"I know Luna, i'm sorry for doing that, I will make sure its safer next time. I promise." he says while holding her tightly.

Suddenly the door bursts open interrupting their private moment of intimacy as a guards pony stands there breatheless,

"Report! And this better be fucking important." He orders as the pony salutes,

"Princess Celestia is holding an emergency meeting with the Captain and she urgently requires your presence sire." The pony manages to speak in one breath before panting for more.

Chris looks at Luna as she smiles nervously at him, "Dont worry Luna.. i'll be back." Chris assures her as he kisses her and gets up to follow him.

As Chris leaves, Lunas eyes start to twitch as they both turn to slits but quickly disappear as Luna shakes her head to clear the dark thoughts from her mind.

In the war room

Chris walks in through the twin doors, wearing his battle armor as was the Captain and Princess Celestia. The sight of her in armor was a surprise to Chris as he never saw her in that sort of gear besides her royal attire.

"What is the situation Captain?" He asks as the pony points a hoof at the map, showing a small town that had an X marked on it.

"What am I looking at? Describe it." Chris orders as the Captain gulps and tries to speak.

"The town of Unicornia, its.... its... completely destroyed." he utters as Chris looks at the map shocked.

"Destroyed as in... all ponies-"

"Wiped out." Celestia interrupts as Chris stares at her wide eyed.

"What the... what the hell can do that sort of thing?!?" He asks as Celestia sheds a tear but looks up with fiery anger.

"That is why I am sending you, to observe the area and gather what information and if there is any possible chance of survivors." She orders as Chris nods and salutes.

"Yes Your Majesty, i'll need the coordinates and will head out as soon as possible." Chris acknowledges as he looks at the map and records the location in his map.

He turns and exits the room, putting on his helmet as the guards ponies salutes him by standing stiff. He looks up at the exit hole in the ceiling as he spreads his wings and shoots up like a bullet. He stops at a good 500 feet in the air before speeding towards the location of the town. As he was flying at a speed of 200 mph he sees the smoke in the distance get bigger and bigger before slowing himself down to land, what he saw broke his heart yet stirred up a burning rage.

The town was razed to the ground, bodies of torn up ponies littered the streets, limbs and pieces of flesh or gore was everywhere. He looked around in horror as there seemed to be no survivors.

"What the fuck could cause such a massacre." Chris says to himself, his scanners picked up a faint life signal in one of the sheds that was left untouched. He pulls out his pistol as he slowly approached the small wooden shelter, he takes cover on the side as he takes a deep breath, then quickly he rips the door open and aims only to find two small foals, huddled together, terribly frightened and hungry. Chris lowers his weapon as he kneels down but the foals scurry to the corner as they whimper.

"Are you two ok?" Chris asks as he holsters his weapon, the two foals look at him confused as he slowly takes off his helmet to show his face. The foal who looks to be the oldest tilts his head as the younger foal, a filly bury her face into his fur.

"I'm here to come get you, Princess Celestia will take care of you." he reassures them as he reaches into his bag to pull out two apples and sets it down.

"Eat up little ones, you must be hungry." He smiles to comfort them as they move forward and nibbles before eating them quickly.

He reaches out to them as he unslings a basket for them to climb into, "Come here you two... i'll take you to the Castle."

The little filly looks up, "C-Castle?" she asks.

"Yes Princess Celestia and Princess Luna will look after you two. Your mom and dad... they're..." He didn't want to say it but the two foals quiver their lips and cries loudly, he was utterly destroyed emotionally seeing two orphan foals, traumatized by this horrific scene. He suddenly hears growls and looks around before putting his helmet back on.

"Ehhh ehhH! Monsters are here!" The colt cries as Chris sees multiple contacts on his radar.

"Where in the hell?!?" He pulls out his pistol and looks around as he sees a black porous, large blue eyed creature with a jagged horn, bug like wings and sharp teeth drooling, obviously stained with the blood of the ponies that were massacred.

"If this is supposed to be what the changelings are... then this the most disturbing version I have ever seen... Lauren Faust needs to change the changeling appearance if I ever get back. He quickly pulls out his phone and takes a few snapshots of the changelings before turning on his helmet cam to record the encounter.

The group of changelings surrounded the armored human, as one leaps towards him, he turns and fires two shots from his 9mm, bringing it down as it bleeds green. The foals hide in the basket as Chris checks his sides and his rear, not giving the changelings an advantage. The next one growled as it charges towards him, he looks to the charging creature and fired two shots to the head as it drops. The next two fly towards him as he holsters his pistol and activates his beam saber, he maintains his stance as the two black creatures closed distance, he swings his saber in arcs as he slashes one then the other as they both dropped.

Seeing no other changelings he deactivated his saber and notices his hands were shaking, he wondered to himself if he was terrified, well his heart is beating rapidly, the adrenaline pumping through his system and he just recovered from tunnel vision. Yeah he is scared shitless.

"Holy fuck... holy fuck..." he says to himself as he secures the basket tightly, surveying the scene to report it to Celestia as he zooms upward like a rocket, falls for a while then speeds off towards friendly territory.

Luna and Celestia were waiting for Chris to return, Luna in her dark colored battle armor and Celestia in her pure white version. They hear the roar of thrusters as Chris lands gently, his wings flapping as he touches down, wings folding in he unslings a basket to set it down before Celestia and Luna.

"Were there?" Luna asks hopefully as Chris takes off his helmet and looks at them, his eyes tearing up.

"These two were all thats left." He says sadly as the two foals look up from the basket and looks around.

Luna gasps as Celestia closes her eyes tightly, tears brimming. The younger princess swoops down gracefully as the foals were scared, as Luna walks up to them she lowered her head and nuzzled them as they start to cry and hug the princess. Chris walks up to Celestia and showed her the pictures on his phone.

"This is what I encountered and fought against. If this is what I think it is... I think the changeling queen has just made a declaration of war."

Celestia snorts, "That bitch promised not to step into Equestrian territory for centuries. Now I will make sure she pays dearly for the atrocities she has committed."

Luna takes the two orphan foals into a different room as Chris looks at her and she looks back at him.

"When I arrived... I... there was nothing I can do... everything was burned to the ground. No pony was alive... all I saw was... parts of them." He shudders.

The Sun goddess started to hyperventilate as the airman grabs hold of her and the guards notice it too.

"Princess??" Chris speaks to her as Celestia takes short rapid breaths, the news was too much and it was taking a toll on her.

Chris knew that the Princess was going into shock, "GET THE DOCTOR IN HERE! THE PRINCESS IS GOING INTO SHOCK!"

Two guards immediately bolt out the door to find the royal doctor as Chris kneels in front of Celestia then looks her in the eyes,

"Celestia look at me, take deep breathes, breathe in slowly, then breathe out... and again." he tries to calm her down as she tries to do as he instructed her.

This episode scared Chris, never has he seen Celestia like this. He can only wonder, what kind of changeling enemy is Equestria facing?
