Chapter 2View OnlineShadows Consume what Fire CleansesChapter 2Kalib woke up and saw that midnight had fallen around and he saw Antigone asleep in a tree a few yards away. He felt a little voice in his heads and his wings spread automatically and he shot straight to Ponyville. He landed out side the library and charged through the door to find Twilight Sparkle bleeding on the ground. He slid down beside her and pressed his hooves against the gash in her side as her husband came stumbling in. "What happened?" Kalib asked him. "An assassin attacked." The guy replied. "Where's Sky?" Kalib asked him. "Princess Cadence has him running an errand for her." The guy replied. "Dammit, I'll be back." Kalib told him before running out of the library into the forest. He breathed in their child's scent before galloping as fast as his form would let him until he heard a child cry from a tree. Kalib leapt into the canopy and found Twilight's daughter and easily lifted her out of the tree. "Who are you?" She asked him. "A friend of your mother." Kalib replied. "Is she alright?" The girl asked him. "She's stable." Kalib replied. "I have to go to Canterlot to report this." After Kalib dropped the filly off at Twilight's house and patched Twilight up he disappeared to the castle where he appeared before Sky, who was wearing his armor. "Oh hey Kalib, how's it going?" Sky asked him before Kalib punched him straight in the jaw. "What the hell?!" "Where have you been?!" Kalib asked him as anger flaring violently. Everyone in the guard knew how well Kalib kept his anger in and when it came out they stayed away. If he got someone in his hooves they all knew that pony deserved it somehow. When they saw he punch Sky they all took a good seven strides back to give him room. "Where have you been?" Kalib asked him again. "I was on an errand for Cadence." Sky replied as he tried to push Kalib away. "What was my order to you?!" Kalib shouted. "P-protect Twilight." Sky stuttered. "Why did you disobey a direct order?!" Kalib continued as fire starting to cloak his body. "Cadence-." Sky started before Kalib tackled him. They went down to the ground and Kalib started to wail away on him. It wasn't until Sky's chest plate cracked and then he disappeared. He landed on the beach, sat down and looked over the ocean and he let out a yell that shattered several rocks around him before collapsing. He quickly passed out quickly with the last thing he remembered being the wet sand under his body
Chapter 3View OnlineShadows Consume what Fire CleansesChapter 3Kalib opened his eyes slowly and pressed his hooves against his head, groaning loudly. "Oh shut the fuck up dude." A mare told him from where she sat in a chair a few feet away. The mare, a Pegasus; with cream body and gold wings with black tips just looked at him from her book. "Who the hell are you?" Kalib asked her. "The name is Aminon, I've surprised the princesses let you go after you broke some of Sky's ribs." Aminon replied. "They know if I lose it it's for a good reason." Kalib replied. "Aminon, I read that in a report somewhere." "I'm the newest recruit you dumb ass." Aminon replied. "Watch your damn tongue." Kalib replied. "You aren't the boss of me you ugly bastard." Aminon told him. "You are a bitch, you know that right?" Kalib asked her as he rolled out his bed. "Where are you going?" Aminon asked him. "Where you think?" Kalib asked her. "I'm going to talk to Celestia and Luna." "They told me not to let you out of my sight." Aminon told him as she stepped between him and the door. Aminon felt herself get picked up and moved by a strong source of magic and she was gently placed a few paces aside from the door. Before he opened the door he looked at her. "What?" Aminon asked him. "You said they told you to an eye on me correct?" Kalib asked her. "Yeah, so?" Aminon asked him. "Come on then, I have to go talk to them." Kalib replied. Aminon watch as Kalib talked to Celestia and Luna and felt her stomach drop as their expressions dropped. As he walked back over to her she analyzed his body posture and noted how tense he was. "What's going on?" Aminon asked him. "Since you'll be my partner for awhile you might as well know." Kalib told her. "Princess Twilight was attacked yesterday and I think I know who did it I just need to be sure." "Where do we need to go?" Aminon asked him. "We need to go to the Krypt so that he can get his armor and weapons." Sky told her as he walked into the room. Kalib nodded before turning around and walking out of the room. Aminon sighed as she followed him, leaving Sky in the room with the princesses. "Are you going with them?" Celestia asked him. "He can handle himself." Sky replied. "We're more worried about them killing each other." Luna replied. Aminon watched as Kalib walked slowly down the stairs with a torch a few feet in front of him. "So what are we going again?" Aminon asked him. "The Krypt, it's where our armor is kept." Kalib replied. "What makes you so fucking special?" Aminon asked him. "Language." Kalib told her. "Shut the hell up." Aminon told him. "Love you too." Kalib replied. "Like I said shut up before I shove your tail up your ass." Aminon replied. "Harsh, now shut up the Krypt Keeper is close." Kalib told her. "What the hell is the Krypt Keeper?" Aminon asked him. "You'll see." Kalib replied as they felt the ground level out. There was a low hiss and Aminon tensed up as the lights went out. "What the hell was that?" Aminon asked him. "The Chimerian, stay close to me." Kalib replied as his good eye started to glow in the dark slightly. He kept a hoof on her shoulder and urged her forward slowly. A pile of crates toppled over and Kalib pushed Aminon out of the way before they fell on top of him. Aminon felt a weight slam into her side cracking her armor and throwing her into the wall next to her. The lights blazed back on and when she saw the faceless and figureless mass of shadows and she looked over to the pile of boxes that cover Kalib and she felt a primal rage bubble up in her stomach. Before she could think anything through she rushed forward but as she touched the shadows she felt her body grow ice cold and her vision went dark. Suddenly she was thrown out onto the cold stone of the Krypt floor felt a viscous black liquid sticking to her body, mane, and tail. She looked at Kalib who had a huge spear of wood buried in his shoulder. What actually freaked he out was the fact that he was breathing pure white fire at the monster and it was actually receding into one of the corners. "Kalib?" Aminon whispered as she looked at his front hooves which were covered in the same gunk. As soon as the monster was in the corner Kalib took in another deep breath and this time his fire was a deep red that ripped through the monster. When it was gone Kalib walked over Aminon and lifted her onto his back. "I can walk god dammit." Aminon told him. "Shut it, that wasn't the Chimerian." Kalib replied. "It's much worse." "What was it then?" Aminon asked him. "It was a fucking Soul Deviant." Kalib replied as he stopped at a solid metal door. He placed a hoof on the door on shoved it open to reveal a few sets of pure white armor with gold trim and a gold insignia of a K on the breast plate. "Who are you, or better yet what are you?" Aminon asked him. "I'm an Imperial Guard." Kalib replied a he laid Aminon against one of the walls. He took a deep breath and Aminon felt the tar being lifted from her and she watched as it was pulled into Kalib's body. His body darkened for a minute before he returned to normal and then he pulled on his armor and grabbed his swords. "You aren't normal." Aminon told him. "In this world now a days, who is?" Kalib asked her. "You have a point but you're further in shit town." Aminon replied. "So one more time what are you?" "I'm a demon hybrid." Kalib replied. "This is our little secret." "Everyone has their secrets and darker sides, but you're still a bitch to me." Aminon told him.
Chapter 4View OnlineShadows Consume what Fire CleansesChapter 4Aminon shot up in the hospital bed and went to pull out the I.V. that was in her arm until Kalib stopped her. "You need to rest." Kalib told her. "Fuck you." Aminon replied before laying back down. "Still fiesty as ever." Kalib laughed. "How long was I out?" Aminon asked him. "A day, maybe a day and a half." Kalib replied as he placed bowl of strawberries on the table beside her. "I did a bit of snooping into your files since we'll be working together for awhile." "Hope that's not to long cause you're already a pain in my ass." Aminon replied as she looked at the strawberries. "I knew you'd be hungry after your short coma." Kalib replied as he used his magic to help Aminon eat. "I hate you." Aminon hissed before biting into a strawberry. "I love you too." Kalib chuckled. Aminon stuttered slightly before just biting into another strawberry. "I have to take of something for an hour or two." Kalib told her as she finished the strawberries. "I need you to get some rest, training starts when I get back." Before she could replied Kalib disappeared leaving the room a few degrees warmer than before. Kalib walked up where the rest of the Imperial Guards who bowed to him when he solidified. "Do we have a lead on who attacked Twilight?" He asked them. "No, whoever did it muddled up their trail ethereally, magically, and physically." One of the guards replied. "Then we have to try harder, go deeper into the different realms." Kalib replied. "There are ten of us, three to each major realm, I'll stay here to train the recruit." "You really see something her, don't you?" The same Imperial asked. "How about instead of questioning me, how about y'all go try to find whatever tried to kill Twilight." Kalib told her. The mare glared at him before disappearing and the rest of the Guard followed suit. Aminon walked into the sparring room saw Kalib swinging several swords above his head and Sky was shooting through the air to dodge them. "So who am I fighting cause I want to beat the shit out someone?" Aminon asked them. "You'll be fighting Sky." Kalib told her. "I want neither of you to hold back." Aminon nodded before she looked at Sky who was wearing plain sparring clothes and she felt herself smile before launching herself at him. Sky tried to pull himself to the side but Aminon pulled him and was about to punch him again but Kalib stopped her. "You both have shown extreme skill." Kalib told them. "Sky you have shown immense improvement and Aminon you've shown extraordinary potential." "Can you stop talking and tell us what else you have planned for us?" Sky asked him. "Nothing else, lunch is what is next." Kalib replied as he walked to the door. "Afterwards though it's you two against me." Aminon groaned as her back hit the ground for maybe the seventh time and she painfully got to her feet once again. She glanced at Sky as Kalib threw him and Aminon yelled right before he slammed into her. As they got up again Kalib was just walking slowly at the edge of the arena, his body untouched even after 2 hours. "Are you going to give up yet?" Kalib asked them. Aminon struggled to her and felt her knees shake slightly but she tensed up. "Fuck you you bastardly little bitch." Aminon shouted before galloping full speed at Kalib. Before she got close he leapt of her slammed all his hooves into her back, landed and bucked her stomach. She flipped through the air and landed painful on her back. When she tried to get to her feet she felt Sky pick her up and she shoved back. "What the hell, I was trying to help you." Sky told her. "Fuck off you little shit." Aminon replied as she rushed at Kalib again. This time when she fell Sky just leapt over her before Kalib threw him across the arena again.
Chapter 5View OnlineShadows Consume what Fire CleansesChapter 5Aminon sank slowly into the water and closed eyes as the bruises on her body flared up. She opened her eyes slowly as Kalib waded towards her but it wasn't until he almost to her did she freak out. "Get the fuck out you pervert!" She screamed. "Classic, seeing how this is my bathroom." Kalib replied before nodding to the golden K emblazoned on the door. Aminon felt her cheeks ridden at her mistake but before she could move Kalib stopped her. "We need to talk." Kalib told her. "In here?" Aminon asked him. "Don't you think this is weird?" "This is the only place we have complete privacy." Kalib replied. "Fine, but you're a weird motherfucker." Aminon told him. Kalib just shrugged before he spoke. "It's about your past." Aminon felt a little color drain from her face before she hardened her eyes. "So what?" She asked him harshly. "Drop the damn act Ami." Kalib replied. "We both have a dark past." "Don't act like we have shit in common." Aminon hissed. "We both have darkness in our vein, both from our fathers." Kalib replied. "So yeah we have something in common." Aminon just glared at him for a solid five minutes before she slumped slightly. "You just don't know what it was like, I saw they both get killed right in front of me." Aminon told him. "I have that memory with me forever now, the final memory I have of them." "I never knew either of my parents, but I do believe I have my father whispering in my ear most of the time." Kalib replied with a chuckle. "I guess it's what I get for being a demon spawn." "So do I get to kill you then?" Aminon asked with a slight smirk. "Really, that big of a question without even a first date?" Kalib asked her. "Shut up you moron." Aminon replied. "What; after cursing the past two days have you run out?" Kalib asked her. "Do you have shit for brains?" Aminon asked him. "Nah, but I can be an asshole if I want be." Kalib said with a sly grin. "So you really don't know who either of your parents are?" Aminon asked him. "I did say that didn't I?" Kalib asked her. She swatted at him but he easily dove underwater and surfaced beside her. "You need to become quicker." Kalib told her as his armor started to appear around him. "Motherfucking hell." "What's going on?" Aminon asked him. "The rest of the Imperial Guard were ambushed and need help." Kalib told her before getting out of the bathing pool. "Come on, time for you to get experience." She pulled herself out of the pool but her hooves slipped on the wet tile. Before she fell Kalib caught her and as she righted herself she saw her armor form around herself. Aminon galloped steadily in front of Kalib and she looked back at the gargoyle that was chasing them. "You just had to fucking puss it off, didn't you?" Aminon asked Kalib. "It's all part of my plan." Kalib yelled back before whooping and hollering at the stone beast. "Come on ya shit bag, you know ya want me." Aminon huffed as she galloped harder. "Are we close?" Aminon asked him. Kalib chuckled as he looked at his visor before tackling Aminon into a ditch and covered her mouth until the gargoyle slammed into an invisible wall. When they dust settled Aminon push Kalib back and sighed. "Thanks I guess." Aminon replied as she started to pick twigs from her mane. "There's something I need to tell you." Kalib told her. "From physical contact I can see into someone's past." Aminon looked at him for a second before he spoke again. "I can control as long as I'm not too distracted." Kalib told her as he looked at the hole in the wall. "Ready to go?" "Yeah, let's get this over with." Aminon told him. They climbed out of the ditch and they carefully worked their way around and over bits and pieces of the stone gargoyle but when they got to the hole Aminon hesitated. "What's wrong?" Kalib asked her. "S-spiders." Aminon whispered quietly. Kalib looked past Aminon and chuckled. "Do you want me to cover your eyes?" "You do that and I'll kick you in the dick." Aminon growled. "So no covering your eyes, so what if I just go of you and burn the webs?" Kalib asked her. "There will still be spiders." Aminon told him. Kalib nodded before fire cloaked one of his hooves. "How about a cloak of fire?" Kalib asked her. "Whatever to keep the spiders away from me." Aminon replied. Kalib and Aminon walked side by side as he gently pushed her along the hallway until they came to the first room where the Imperial Guards were in and then his stomach dropped. "They're dead." Kalib told her. "How can you tell?" Aminon asked him. "He can sense it." A voice behind them replied. "It's been awhile Aminon; has it been eleven or twelve years?" Aminon froze up as she recognized the voice. "Acsion, so this is where you've been." Aminon forced. "Yes and now it's time for both of you to die." Acsion replied
Chapter 6View OnlineShadows Consume what Fire CleansesChapter 6Aminon looked from Kalib to the Imperial Guard's bodies and she froze when she noticed the spiders spinning a thin web cocoon around them. When she turned back she saw Kalib getting thrown across the room. She galloped at Acsion but he just tossed her across the room straight into Kalib causing him to groan. "I didn't even see him." Aminon coughed. "Stay here then, I'm not going to let you get killed." Kalib told her. "Fuck that shit, he killed my parents so I'm going to run his face into a pool of lava." Aminon hissed. "Let me access his abilities first, if I can do that then you'll be able to join." Kalib told her. Aminon huffed before waving him off. He chuckled before disappearing in a howling wind and slammed into Acsion who kicked him away easily. Kalib landed on his feet softly on his feet and shot at Acsion again a few more times before he finally landed a punch straight to Acsion abdomen which made him grunt painfully. He reappeared beside Aminon and she saw how a scratch on the side of his face heal right before her eyes. "Are you in the mood for a show of brute force?" Kalib asked her. "Of course." Aminon said with a slight grin. Kalib held out his hoof and she gingerly took it and felt a jolt of electricity shoot through her body for a second and then she felt a warm feeling radiate through her chest. "Now you now have the ability of wind speed." Kalib told her. "He isn't really too quick, but he can project solid clones to block our attacks." They both launched themselves at Acsion and when Aminon looked at Kalib she saw that even though she could see him he was still a blur. He was also Acsion's main focus and that angered her slightly, but before she could do anything else Acsion swatted them to the side and chuckled. "The girl I didn't expect much from she was weak from the beginning, but my own son?" Acsion asked them. "Pitiful." Aminon just looked from Acsion to Kalib but before she could say anything Kalib disappeared again not leaving a trace that he had even been there. He picked Acsion and shot upward, when he flipped over and rocketed back down easily breaking the sound barrier. Kalib slammed into the ground creating a crater with a seven foot radius. He climbed out a crater and Aminon glared at him. "I did know he was my father, I promise." Kalib told her. "I've had people make promises to me and they've always fallen through and I despise when people lie to ne." Aminon told him. "Well I never go back on my word and I've never lie." Kalib told her. "It makes my life hell but its what I do." "I still don't trust you completely." Aminon told him. "I respect that." Kalib replied. "All this mushy shit pisses me off, just stand still so that I can kill you." Acsion told them as he climbed out of the hole. Kalib sighed but before he could leave Aminon stopped him. "You are not leaving me out of this you little shit." Aminon told him. "I would never think of that, but he killed nine Imperial Guards and he can create physical clones." Kalib told her. "I don't give a damn, he killed my parents so I'm going to kill him." Aminon shouted. Kalib grinned as he gently rested his hooves on her shoulders. "Then let's kill the bastard." Kalib chuckled before disappearing again. Aminon disappeared after him and they slammed into Acsion punching and kicking and with their combined force they managed to push Acsion a foot or two but when he threw them back once again. "Come on now you two can do better then that." Acsion told them. "Those nine Guards did a lot better." Kalib pulled Aminon to the side behind cover of a half-wall and looked at her. "We have to think of something quickly." Kalib told her. "Really? Would've never have figured that out." Aminon replied sarcastically. "I'm quick enough to deplete his energy and you can kill him." Kalib told her before handing her a sword. Aminon nodded but before he leapt over the half wall she stopped him. "Be careful." Aminon told him. "You worried about me?" Kalib asked her. "What, no, I'm not touching where those spiders were and I'm not going to carry them myself." Aminon replied. Kalib nodded before leaping over the wall and galloping around Acsion without taking a breath. Aminon watched from behind the wall and tracked Kalib's movement with a slight degree of difficulty. She watched as Kalib created a small tornado that lifted Acsion off the floor and she took a deep breath before galloping into it. She cut through any clones Acsion sent after her and when she got close enough she sank to the sword into his chest, twisting it violently. Aminon felt herself being lowered and while she landed softly Acsion's dead body fell with a thud. She felt the adrenaline drain from her muscles and she felt Kalib catch her. The lasts thing she remembered was that she had a smile plastered on her face.
Chapter 7View OnlineShadows Consume what Fire CleansesChapter 7Aminon woke up to find herself on Kalib's back but she was still groggy. "Where are we?" Aminon asked him. "We're going to Celestia's room to debrief her." Kalib replied as he turned a corner. He stopped at a door with the sun emblazoned on it and Aminon slid off of Kalib's back and then they walked in. When they did they were surrounded by guards. "Imperial Guard Kalib and Royal Guard Aminon, you are placed under arrest by the royal decree of Princess Luna." One of the guards told them. "See the window?" Kalib asked Aminon. "Yeah, why?" Aminon asked him. "I'm going to cause a distraction, when I do jump out of it." Kalib replied. "You have to trust me." "I'm not going to leave you to these morons." Aminon told him. "You don't have a choice in this decision hun." Kalib replied. "Don't get yourself killed because i want to beat the shit out of you for this." Aminon hissed. Kalib only nodded before grabbing one of the guard's spears and shoving it back breaking his nose before Aminon shot out the window. As she hit the water she saw Kalib land in beside her and they surfaced quickly. Kalib started to freak as he looked around himself and he almost pushed her underwater again. Aminon grab the front of his armor and shook him. "G-get a h-hold of y-yourself." Aminon stuttered. "W-we're in a f-freezing lake a-and it's s-snowing if we d-don't get m-moving we'll die." "Land, where is dry land?" Kalib asked her. "O-over t-shirts, g-get y-your shit t-together." Aminon replied as she tried to pull him toward the shore when she noticed the blood coming from his side. Before she recovered from the sight Kalib lifted her back onto his back, draping her mane over his eyes and nose, and swam to the shore. He frantically pulled himself into the snow covered shore and looked around. "Y-you're afraid of w-water?" Aminon asked him. "Lakes and oceans mainly, the bigger the body of water is the harder it is to get me near." Kalib told her. "Y-you got h-hurt." Aminon told him. Kalib looked at his side and grunted. "First we got you warmed up, then I'll worry about myself." Kalib told her. Aminon's eyes flew opened but only darkness met her and her breath caught in her throat. "K-Kalib...." She whispered. He groaned as he touched her side softly. "I... I just need to rest..." Kalib whispered. "I-is there anyway for you to get some light in here?" Aminon asked him. Kalib grunted as he pushed himself to his feet and relit the pile of tinder and Aminon relaxed until she saw how bad she saw the wound had progressed. As Kalib pushed the fire to where Aminon could feel it warm up her body and after awhile she pushed herself to her feet as he laid down again. "Where are you going?" Kalib asked her. "Your wound needs help Anand nouveau won't be doing anything on my watch." Aminon told him. Kalib watched her as she pieced together a small satchel of grass before she walked over to Kalib. "I've been needing to thank you." Aminon told him. "For what?" Kalib asked her. "For believing in me when some people wouldn't have." Aminon replied. "You would've done the same thing if our positions were switched." Kalib told her. "No, I wouldn't have." Aminon replied. "Could you help me over to the mineral pool?" Kalib asked her. Aminon trudged through the snow looking for the herbs that she needed to treat Kalib's wound until she heard the snow crunching a few yards away from her and she shot into a tree. She look through the canopy at the platoon of Royal Guards that pasted by right below her. As soon as they pasted Aminon rocketed overhead and as she landed outside the cave she didn't see Kalib in the pool so she ran into the cave. She got to the mineral pool, dropped the herb satchel, and dove into the water. Aminon surfaced and saw Kalib limping back to the pool; stopping when he saw her. "You bastard, you should be fucking resting." Aminon yelled as she leapt out pool. "I'm not going to piss and shit in our bathing pool." Kalib replied. "Lay down and stay the fuck still until I have the bath ready." Aminon told him. Kalib groaned as he slowly lowered himself down to the ground and watched her work with the herbs and water and thirty minutes later she called him over. "Do want me up or do you want me to rest?" Kalib asked her as he stopped beside her. "Just get in the damn bath." Aminon growled. Kalib looked at the water and then at Aminon. "It looks cold." Kalib told her. Aminon huffed before moving to shove Kalib into the water but he just stepped out of the way and she fell headfirst into the water. She jumped out and got right in Kalib's face. "Get in the God damn bath you little shit!" Aminon growled. Before she could react he grabbed her shoulders and pulled her into the pool with him. She burst through the surface and splashed Kalib violently. "You little fuck." Aminon growled. Kalib swam around slowly as Aminon just starred at him with an incredulous look. "You're as pale as shit, but you don't seem affected too horribly." Aminon told him. "You won't believe the amount of adrenaline I'm running on right now." Kalib told her. "Can you stop moving so that the bath can actually work?" Aminon asked him. "I could if you asked nicely." Kalib told her. "I could beat the shit out of you." Aminon replied. "Well, seeing how the power I had given to you yesterday has left your soul, good luck with that." Kalib told her. "What did you do anyway?" Aminon asked him. Kalib stopped for a while as he floated beside Aminon and gently touched her chest and then his own. "Our souls are easily able to connect which allows me to shares my powers with you." Kalib replied as he brushed his mane out of his face. Aminon just looked at Kalib before sighing. "Is this a demon kind of thing?" Aminon asked him. "That's the thing, I don't use it that due to the fact that I don't truly understand the side effects of the power share." Kalib replied. Aminon huffed as she looked down at Kalib's wound which had started gaining a greenish tint around the edge. "After this you'll have to stay still on land so that I can clean up your wound and prevent further infection." Aminon told him. Aminon looked Kalib who had curved his body slightly around her after she had cleaned out his wound and she rested her chin on his shoulder before she fell asleep.
Chapter 8View OnlineShadows Consume what Fire CleansesChapter 8Aminon jumped to her feet and relaxed when she saw the fire in the middle of the cave. She walked over to it and laid down in front of it and then she finally noticed that Kalib was nowhere to be found. As her heart rate sped up she heard him whistling as he strolled right back into the cave and he stopped again as he saw her. "Hey Ami, I would've woken you up, but you been through a lot the past few days and I just thought you would like a little more sleep." Kalib told her as he messed with the bundle on his back. "You fucking dipshit." Ami shrieked before charging at him. Kalib caught her by the shoulder and looked at her for a second before stepping past her and laying the bundle in one of the corners of the cave. Aminon walked over to him and watched as he unrolled the bundle. "Hay?" Aminon asked him. "You sound unimpressed." Kalib replied as he spread the hay out evenly before plopping down on it. "That's better." "Do I have to tie you down?" Aminon asked him. "No, I'm done moving around for now." Kalib told her. "I'll head out before it gets to cold, I need to get stuff for us to eat." Aminon told him. "You need to rest." Kalib fell onto his back and watched her leave. Aminon searched the ground for anything edible other than mushrooms and she grin slightly when she found a good patch of dandelions. She quickly picked the field before flying back to the cave where Kalib was limping around moving boulder like stones. "You thick skulled motherfucker." Aminon growled as she stalked over to him. "I told you to rest." "There's so much to do around here." Kalib told her before he kicked the rock repeatedly causing it to break apart several smaller rocks. He then dragged a basket full of snow which he used magic to dump it into the rock line crater. "Another bathing pool?" Aminon asked him. "Drinking water." Kalib replied. Aminon looked at the curtains hiding the hay bedding and then the cooking pit. She let out her breath slowly before putting the packet filled with her findings before jabbing her hoof into Kalib's chest. "You need to rest, you need to fucking rest or I'll... I'll knock you out." Antigone told him. Kalib smiled slightly before he glanced at package of mushrooms and dandelions. "I'll have the food ready in a moment just go lay down." Aminon told him. Kalib chuckled before walking behind the curtains and Aminon sighed when she heard him start to snore. Aminon slowly poured the soups into two different bowls that Kalib had crafted and carefully lit an incense to mask the mushroom smell as she pushed back the curtains. Kalib was laying on his good side so his back was to her and so was his bad eye. She put the bowls down and looked at the wound, sighing when she saw that the infection had lessened but she jumped as he snorted. He groaned at he sat up and looked at her before rubbing his face vigorously. He looked at the two bowls as Aminon pushed the mushroom soup towards him. "Mushrooms?" He asked her. "Yeah, it's either you eat it or I shove it down your damn throat." Aminon replied. "I've just had a bad experience with em tis all." Kalib replied. "You aren't having the same thing?" "I've eaten enough mushrooms to last me for the rest of my lifetime." Aminon replied. "Well, I hate to tell you but that dandelions and water soup won't do much for you." Kalib told her. "I've done with worse." Aminon replied. After they got done with their dinner they washed up and now they were laying beside each. After awhile Aminon spoke up. "There's something weird going on." Aminon told him. "Yeah, I can feel an imbalance in the magical world." Kalib replied. "I guess you won't rest until you figure it out?" Aminon asked him. "I never will." Kalib replied. "I'm going to stay with you only so you don't get yourself killed." Aminon told him. Before she could react he hugged her gently but she pushed him back gently. "I ain't used to that touchy feely shit." Aminon told him. "Let me hug you ya little shit." Kalib chuckled while he tried to hug her again
Chapter 9View OnlineShadows Consume what Fire CleansesChapter 9Aminon woke up and gently pushed Kalib's arm off of her back. She stood up and stretched out sighing as her shoulders popped slightly. Kalib yawned and cracked his back and neck before standing up. "This cave is kind of suffocating." Kalib told her as he walked up beside her. "There is somewhere that should be near here." Aminon replied. "Though you'd want to stay near me." "What, do you think I can't handle myself?" Kalib asked her. "No, it's not that, where I'm from they go after the weakest link." Aminon replied. "And I'm supposedly the weakest link?" Kalib asked her. "They'll perceive you as it." Aminon replied. "Let them, I'll smack them around a bit." Kalib replied. He reached under the covers and revealed a whip which he wrapped around one of his legs. "I'm ready to go." Kalib told her. Soon they were at the city limits of Aminon's hometown and Kalib looked at her. "I think the first thing I'm doing is getting you some winter clothes." Kalib told her as he fixed the bandages on his side. "Whatever, you need some as well." Aminon told him. "Not really." Kalib replied as he watched the snow melt as it touched his skin. "Whatever, I could do with a drink." Aminon replied. Kalib followed her through the city with him pushing away any mares that tried to make an advance at him until they got to the bar. Aminon walked up to the bar as everyone else parted to either side of the bar for her to pass through. Before she could get to the bar a stallion got in front of her and whistled. "Hey there Noon, long time no see." The stallion told her. "Leave me be Blue." Aminon told him. "I'll do what I want bitch." Blue told her as he raised a hoof. Blue reached out to hit Aminon Kalib's whip wrapped firmly around his hoof. "Let me go you fuck." Blue growled before trying to pull Kalib off his feet. "You don't talk to her like that you dickless prick." Kalib replied calmly. Kalib just flicked his hoof and Blue was thrown across the room. Before he could even get up Kalib straddled his chest and repeated punched his face and stomach. As Blue's nose broke and his blood gushed slightly over Kalib's hooves he switched to landing blow after blow to Blue abdomen cause him to cough up blood. When several customers in the bar were able to peel Kalib off of Blue, Blue spat out a few teeth and Aminon quickly ushered Kalib out of the bar. "Are you fucking crazy!" Aminon asked him. "Do you really want me to answer that?" Kalib asked her. "Yes, I need to know what I'm getting myself into." Aminon told him. "You have a gorgeous mane, did you know that?" Kalib asked her. "Stop trying to distract me." Aminon told him as she felt her face heat up. "I must be a godly stud if I distract you." Kalib replied. Aminon shoved Kalib and it barely moved him so she just got in his face. "If you keep on with your shit, they'll skin your ass alive and there is only so much i can do to stop them." Aminon told her. "I don't need you fight my fights for me." "Damn, under your tough little exterior you actually care." Kalib cooed before kissing her nose. "Also, if someone insults you I won't just stand idly by and not do shit." Aminon screamed before trying to hit Kalib repeated and he just chuckled as he hopped back. "I'm going to kick your ass." Aminon growled. Kalib ran back into the bar but stopped as he came face to face with Blue and five other stallions. "Bastard, meet Ken, Copper, John, Alvin, and Maximilian." Blue started before he was launched across the room. "Listen up, I don't need to hear anyone else bitch so if y'all want to try insult Noon you'll have to go through me first." Kalib told them. As soon as Kalib saw the first stallion move he stomped on the table behind him and launched it straight into the stallion's face throwing him across the bar. He then grabbed the next stallion and threw him over the bar and then knocked out another with a bar stool to the head. As the fight went on Kalib noticed Aminon holding her own against a how other ponies in the bar with a leg from a table. After a few hours the rest of the ponies that were still conscious ran from the bar and Aminon and Kalib disappeared among the crowd. "Just follow me." Aminon told Kalib. He just nodded as he galloped beside her leisurely. After going the long way around they stopped in front of a house that seemed to only have started to fade slightly. Aminon quickly unlocked the door and Kalib followed her inside. "Your place I'm guessing?" Kalib asked her. "No, dipshit I just broke in; of course it's my house." Aminon told him as she guided him through the foyer into the living room. "What the hell are these barrels doing here?" "I had a feeling we would stop by your house when we got to town so I dropped these barrels off before we came." Kalib told her. Aminon was about to ask him how he found where she lived when she smelled a tantalizing scent from one of the barrels. "Wait is that strawberry brandy?" Aminon asked him. Kalib nodded his head and Aminon took a deep breath. "One glass to calm my nerves should be good." Aminon told him. Aminon just watched Kalib float around the room slightly before looking to the bottom of her barrel again. He stopped in front of her and she didn't know what came over as she leaned in and felt their lips meet for a few seconds. This was the last thing she remembered of the night before passing out
Chapter 1View OnlineShadows Consume what Fire CleansesChapter 1Kalib Odiv looked across the ocean from his perch on a cliff high in the mountains. "Son, what troubles you?" Grandial asked him. "It's Razorback." Kalib replied. "I taught you to protect those you cared about." Grandial told him. "Not to needlessly kill." Kalib turned around to face the dark red dragon, he looked into the dragon's amber eyes and sighed. "You know what we're destined to do." Kalib replied as he turned back around. Grandial placed a claw on Kalib's shoulder. "I know all that they said, but I also know you Kalib." Grandial replied. Kalib sighed again before he stretched his wings. "I'm going to fly, find something to do." Kalib replied. "Be careful." Grandial told him. "Aren't I always?" Kalib asked him before stepping off the cliff. He savored the wind through his mane before he let his wings snap open and soaring into the sky. He shot past Grandial as he chuckled to himself before walking into his cave and lying down. Kalib easily landed out the library in Ponyville right as Twilight was walking out with Spike. "Kalib, I thought you wouldn't be back for awhile?" Twilight asked him as his wings dissipated. "I see you've gotten to using those." "My father helped out with basic training." Kalib replied. "How long did it take you to get here this time?" Twilight asked him. "Two minutes for 1000 miles." Kalib replied. "I still don't understand why they live in seclusion." "They may have a voice in the council now, but it doesn't change millennias of difficulty." Twilight told him. "It pisses me off." Kalib replied. "Discord lives in freaking Canterlot." Twilight placed a hoof on his shoulder and he sighed. "Did they talk to you?" Kalib asked her. "Yeah, and I know you don't like them but it's for your own safety." Twilight replied. "My own safety?" Kalib asked her. "That's a hoot; tell them that I will talk to them when they want to negotiate." "Kalib, please we all care about you." Twilight told him. "I know you guys do." Kalib replied. "But I'm not putting you all in danger." Twilight just looked at him as his wings reappeared and she hugged him tightly. "I'll miss you." Twilight told him as she touched his eye patch. "I'll be be back, I don't know when but I'll be back." Kalib told her. Twilight let go of him and watched as he shot into the sky. Kalib landed in the middle of a pasture and Antigone landed in front of him and he look at the tawny Pegasus with colorful wings. "I know why you're here." Antigone told him. Kalib only nodded as he folded in his wings. "You know I don't want a war, and I know you're exactly the same." Kalib told her. "Razor won't agree to it." Antigone told him. "I know." Kalib replied as he looked at the stars.
