Starlight Glimmer asked a brainwashed pony under her command. On the pony's back was a tied bag. "Yes. He was alone, just as you predicted. However, I have a question. We already have one creature. Why get something else?" The mare asked. "Because creatures raised in isolation don't respond as well as ones raised with others....and the specimen ate her sibling. Perhaps she felt that having another one of her species of the same gender would threaten her?" Starlight Glimmer said, "Perhaps Dragon DNA would give it extra strength as well....tell me, what DNA did we already put into it?" "Tyrannosaurus Rex for the base, Velociraptor, Spinosaurus for the arms, Majungasaurus for the harder scales on the back, Gigantosaurus for size, cuttlefish for survival during accelerated growth, Tree frogs for fitting in missing DNA links, Snakes for heat sensing pits, Rugops, and Carnotaurus." The brainwashed mare said, looking over a list on a clipboard. "Perhaps dragon DNA would be beneficial in other ways. Lava proof scales, even fire breathing!" Starlight Glimmer said excitedly as she opened up the bag and-using her magic-pulled out an unconscious purple and green dragon. Placing him in a gigantic tube with a glass-like substance covering it, she locked the entrance and ordered the ponies in the lab. "Extract his DNA, and place it in the specimen." With that, Starlight glanced into a tube with a young white reptilian creature standing on two legs with red eyes snarling at her. "The specimen has developed nicely." Starlight Glimmer said to her brainwashed scientists, "now it's time to inject the DNA into the dragon. Twilight was a FOOL to leave him out of her sight; even if he was in Ponyville!" "How long has it been?" Spike wondered, growling out in a language more commonly found in wild animals. "I've been....changed..." He stared at the dark black claws on his hands and the rough scales covering him. He yawned, opening a fang-filled maw nearly 90 degrees-a change brought forth by the snake DNA. "I'm hungry....I want to feed." The white creature said. Spike had remained pony-sized while the "specimen" had already grown to Discord's size (which was taller than Celestia) and was still growing. The female was beautiful....in an intimidating, fearsome kind of way. Multiple sharp teeth stood in her long maw, and gleaming red eyes blinked with a calculating gleam in it. She had long arms that,if needed, could let her walk on all fours, with opposable thumbs like Spike had with gleaming black claws. Her long, powerful legs had three-toed feet with gleaming black claws. Her white scales reflected the sunlight, and he had small horns above her eyes with sharp, needle-like scales going down the back of her neck. Needle-like scales went down her arms to her "elbows" and her back had armor-like triangular scales to her longer tail. "As long as it isn't....pony again" Spike said, as he started to grow, "GROOAAAAAARRHHH" (I refuse to be a prisoner!) With that, Spike reached his full size, mouth big enough to devour a pony in a single bite, feet big enough to trample one with a single stomp; his innermost claw on each foot adjusted so that it could be raised and swung...with a large sickle-like claw at the top of his toe....the claw similar to that of a Velociraptor. He swung wildly, but the substance held. Letting out a disgusted huff, he shrunk to pony-size again. "It seems the male specimen's dragon DNA allows him to control his size. He just grew to full size to try to break free before shrinking." A stallion said. "Interesting..." Starlight said, "I've almost gotten the Elements of Harmony bearers into my trap...maybe these specimens can be.....incentive.....to join my message of equality. Move them to a corral." The two creatures, full size now, chased another pony as she ran to an enclosure. Following her, Spike felt nothing but utter hatred. SHE was one of the one's responsible for his capture....SHE was one of the ones responsible for his alteration....She..... Was prey. And now, he was corralling the prey towards the female. Lunging forward, the white female chomped down upon the pony and shook, teeth piercing and snapping bones. Swallowing her kill, the other creature stared at the purple-scaled male. "You're strong." The female said, blood dripping from her teeth, "With you...our species could survive. Powerful young." With a toothy grin, she roared out loud, with Spike roaring along with her. Wherever this corral was, it was now their territory. As for the Indominus, Her nostrils flared as she took in the scent of her new surroundings. Spike, while still his normal coloration, now resembled her almost exactly except for his green eyes and raptor-like claws. Twitching their muscles, they adjusted her chromataphores to change their color to match their surroundings. "We were given the species name of Indominus Rex...meaning Fierce King." Spike growled out. "However, Indominus can also mean untamable." "And what of our species name?" The Indominus growled curiously. "We were given the name untamable....and yet they think they can control us." Spike said, "There are some ponies that I would gladly fight for...my friends....however, these aren't my friends. Want to make a plan to show these fools their errors in trying to control us?" "Did you hear that?" Twilight asked, her ears twitching. "It's a predator of some kind. What species of creature I don't know....but it is big." Fluttershy said. "But here's the real question...what's it doing this close to a town." So far I've gotten: Eris Pearl Razor Afina Sif Eve Philomena (which means "lover of power") Willow Keira Yamato (Though honestly I'm iffy on this name because all characters I've seen named "Yamato" are males) Do any of those sound nice? Please agree on a name soon, it's getting repetitive writing her as a "female Indominus." Also, please comment on other dinosaur species, besides the one mentioned, you want to appear. While Starlight may have been defeated, Season 5 is far from finished and I'm sure I can drum up some more adventures "between adventures". Untamable Okay, I thought it'd be nice to have some visual references, so here are the Dinosaurs that make up Spike's DNA now: Tyrannosaurus Rex Spinosaurus (as of a discovery in 2014) Majungasaurus Gigantosaurus Rugops Carnotaurus Velociraptor Indominus Rex Just for fun, here's Fluttershy and a Gigantosaurus I found on Google Spike lunged forward, sinking his teeth into a cow killing it instantly from his bite force and tore some flesh from it, swallowing it. While he could still eat gems, he almost never got any while in Starlight Glimmer's "custody". Maybe once in a while if a pony didn't resist her message, who inexplicably ended up needing to "leave town to visit family". On those days, the female Indominus Rex would make the kill, but make sure he ate from it. Much to his dismay; he mostly got meat nowadays, which unsettled him; despite having the DNA of multiple carnivores within him. However, hunger would override that unsettled feelings within him, and he'd be tearing into his prey with a vigor. Thud. Thud. A white snout poked through the vegitation, a large head following it. The female is here, and she must be hungry to arrive without letting me know of her presence. Spike thought. Stepping back, he watched as the Indominus stepped forward and started eating from his kill. Outside the corral, he could hear noises from other species that had been extinct; Pterodactyls, Spinosaurus, Triceratops, Compsognatus, Ankylosaurus, and Dilophasaurus. However, he and the female were the pride of Glimmer's experiments. Even behind walls, he could hear her gloating about her "weapons". How nopony would resist her. "Are you sure that we'll be called out by the mean one?" The Indominus called out after swallowing a chunk of the cow. Her gaze was locked onto Spike's eyes, before glancing at the thick metal door. "I've seen ponies and creatures like her...nine times out of ten if they have a tool they can use against others, they'll use it." Spike said, growling at the word "tool". "The mean one will pay for her insolence!" Indominus roared out, as Spike glanced at some marks and few scars from tools used to keep them going in a direction or attempt to train them. Spike lowered himself to take another bite of his kill as the Indominus scratched at the walls of the corral, testing their structure. "GRAAAAAARRRHH!" She roared out, a roar promising her captors disembowelment. Spike joined in with the roar, blood dripping from his maw as he flicked his tail against a tree. The cow remained mostly uneaten. "Why aren't we finishing our kill?" She asked, glancing at the cow. "Do you want to spoil your appetite if we are called out?" Spike asked with a menacing grin. The female understood what he was insinuating and grinned maliciously. Spike gave a growl as he saw Starlight Glimmer on the observation deck out of his reach, alone. However, there was a major difference. She had an actual Cutie Mark instead of the grey Equal mark. Spike snarled at her, as did the female. So...her own message was a lie. She didn't even follow her own rule of giving up her Cutie Mark. This was...interesting. Maybe he could use this to his advantage? "So my weapons have developed nicely." She said with a smirk, only to jump back in shock as the female Indominus Rex grabbed a large rock in a forehand and chucked it at the observation deck, cracking the glass. "Easy girl." "GRAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHSSSSHHHH" Spike roared out in a hiss-like fashion. "Down boy" Starlight said with a smirk, casting a spell to disguise her Cutie Mark as an equal mark once more. "GRRAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRR!" (I will tear you to pieces!) Spike roared out, slamming his tail into the ground in agitation. By only making sounds other wild animals would understand, Starlight Glimmer did not know that Spike could talk, or that the female Indominus was learning to talk from him. "By the way Experiment, there are six ponies you might know in town...and I just might have you come face-to-face with them again." She said before turning around and walking out of the observation deck. "You were right...we are going to be let out of the corral in her belief that she can control us." The female Indominus Rex snorted out, her red eyes calculating if there was a way she could climb up and reach the observation deck. "There might be a slight change of plans though. How do you feel about making the Mean One lose everything before killing her?" Spike asked, glancing at the door of the enclosure. I'll see you again soon girls. He thought as he asked his question. "That sounds like what she deserves. Explain." The female Indominus Rex said, snorting at the cracked glass in the observation deck. As Spike was finishing up his explanation, an alarm blared out and the door of the enclosure started opening. As ponies started rushing to the door with shock poles to guide them, both Spike and the female rushed the door and slammed against it, their combined weight denting it outward and nearly knocking it down. However, it was enough to let them out. "We've got to tell Starlight!" A pony said as they turned around and rushed down the path. "It's a trap!" Twilight exclaimed as she and her friends were surrounded by Starlight Glimmer and her minions. "Oh don't be so angry about it." Starlight said, "True Equality is better than you think, and I didn't hear too much complaining from your pet dragon when my scientists experimented with him." At those words Twilight's eyes hardened like ice, glaring at Starlight as bolts of magic scattered across her horn. "You. Did. What?!" "Oh yes. Dinosaur DNA to turn him into a new species. Indominus Rex; the Fierce King." She gloated. "The predator we heard!" Fluttershy gasped out in realization. "Starlight! Both Indominus have escaped!" A pony said, gasping for air from her long run. "What?!" Starlight snapped before a loud Thud was heard and the vegetation shook. "Well...it sounds like they are on the way here anyway. Perhaps they are trained after all!" She said, "It's time to show what our science of Equality can do!" Thud. Thud. A large, purple scaled foot with black claws on it with the innermost toe raised with a deadly sickle-like claw on it stomped down by the mares, with a gigantic white scaled three toed foot with black claws slamming down next to it. They gazed upon the large reptilian creatures as the purple one lowered himself. He let out a snort, blasting hot air across Rainbow Dash's face before inhaling their scent. "S-Spike...." Twilight said, as she connected the color of his scales to who he was. "They said I was a sign that true equality was the way to maintain harmony....but I know better. I'm a weapon!" Spike whispered quietly as Twilight traced a hoof across his snout. The female Indominus Rex snorted, curious to why he wasn't going straight to the plan. "Let's see how they fare when their weapon turns on them." Spike finished with a quiet growl. "What are you doing?" Starlight Glimmer asked, walking up to him, "Aren't you hungry?" Spike reared up and glanced down at Starlight Glimmer, inhaling before.... "GRRRAAAAHHHHHHHHHOOOAHRRRRRRR!" He roared out, lowering himself and slamming his head into Starlight Glimmer before holding her down with his left foot. "SHOW THEM THE TRUTH!" Spike roared out, making Starlight's eyes nearly pop out of their socket as she realized that he could still talk. "W...what do you mean?" She asked. "DO NOT LIE! I SAW YOUR REAL CUTIE MARK! YOUR OWN MESSAGE IS A LIE!" Spike cried out, making the ponies she was leading look at each other in confusion. "Do it, or I'll rip you in half." Spike said, lowering his sickle-like claw just over Starlight's side. Letting out a shaky breath, Starlight let her disguise over her Cutie Mark fall, and her followers let out whispers before glancing at their equal marks before walking off, muttering under their breath. Spike stepped off of the defeated mare. "By the way" he said, much calmer and quieter this time, "I never said anything about the female." With a roar, the female Indominus Rex charged and snapped at the mare. Starlight barley leaped out of the way before running out. Both Indominus Rex reared up and let out loud roars signifying their victory. "So this is your friend?" Fluttershy asked, flying up and checking over the female, "How'd she get the scars?" Spike snorted in the direction Starlight Glimmer ran off. "Three guesses." He spat out before suddenly shrinking to the size of a pony. "You can control your size?" Twilight asked in shock, only to jump back as the female Indominus followed Spike's example and shrunk. She glared at the ponies in front of her. She hadn't had any good experiences with ponies, and yet the male...Spike...seemed to trust them. "Trust me. They get into crazy adventures regularly, yet they still come back. They are supposed to represent good aspects of life: Loyalty, Kindness, Honesty, Generosity, Laughter, and Magic." Spike growled out in their wild language. "So they aren't like the Mean One?" She asked, snorting at them. "Oh goodness no!" Fluttershy said, "You seem really tense. Maybe we should let you relax when we get back to Ponyville." The Pegasus began helping out by removing shedding scales, getting a sigh from the female Indominus. "The others! We have to get the other species out!" Spike said, turning around and growing to full size, "They'll die if they can't hunt or graze!" "Lead the way Spike." Twilight said, only to gasp in surprise as he nudged his nose at her stomach and pushed her onto his head. "Anyone else want a ride?" Spike rumbled cheerfully as the other mares, besides Rainbow Dash who decided to fly, hopped onto the top of his head. Letting out a huff as he rose to his full height, Spike walked forward, sniffing the unfamiliar air as he moved. Behind him the female Indominus Rex walked forward while keeping her stare on the ponies around Spike; daring them to make one hostile move. "Indominus Rex. Didn't Starlight know that Indominus also means Untamable?" Twilight asked. "Most likely not. Otherwise she would have found another way to say Fierce King....or have gotten a warning that we can't be tamed. Not everyone lives in a library." Spike said as he headed up a large hill, stomping on and crushing a fallen log. Spike stopped to sniff the air, getting his bearing. Stepping onto the correct trail, Spike let out a loud roar as he saw a metal enclosure with a twisted doorway. "That's where she kept you, isn't it?" Twilight said as she watched Spike growl. Huffing, Spike turned onto a nearby trail and after a short walk up a hill, he stopped to look over the other enclosures. In one enclosure there was a large reptilian animal that looked like it walked on all fours with a large sail-like fin on it's back; walking on the knuckles of its front hands, before it reared up on its hind legs on raised it's crocodilian head and letting out a loud roar. In another other creatures had large fins on the back of their heads with three sharp horns on their head. There were small green bipedal reptilian animals in their own enclosure, letting out chirps and growls. Another was shaped like a cage with reptilian birds with their beaks filled with sharp teeth. In their own enclosure there were larger green bipedal reptilian creatures with fins pressed against their necks, hissing and growling as they sniffed the air. The last enclosure had four-legged creatures with clubs on their tail and thick armor-like scales covering their back. "These are the dinosaurs Starlight had finished so far...and I'm sure she was finishing other species." Spike said, before inhaling and letting out a loud roar that got all of the creatures to look in their direction. "Twilight...I have a feeling that things are just getting started; even if Starlight was exposed and chased off." Applejack said, an uneasy look on her face as the female Indominus sniffed at her. In a building nearby, there was strange sounds echoing through the abandoned building. A cough-like bark echoed, followed by some hissing. A yellow eye with a cat-like pupil stared at a map of Equestria on the wall; an intelligent, calculating gleam in the eye. On each foot of the bipedal reptilian creature was a raised, sharp sickle-like claw. There were Velociraptors on the loose, and they were hungry.

Okay, I've made some calculations, I've been counting all of the multiple votes. The harem is in the lead with 9 votes. It is followed by Fluttershy with 5 votes. Twilight is in third with 3 votes, and Applejack is in last with 2 votes. The new votes will be added to that number, using comments from THIS chapter to add to it. If the harem is still in the lead next chapter, this poll will end and a new one; which order the mares should be added, will start. Also, an important notice. Why did everyone think the Indominus Rex isn't included? With the Friendship Problems they regularly have, the "Alpha Female" will have to be someone who can keep all of them in line if fights break out. There were multiple species still unreleased to the light of day, as well as a group of dinosaurs running about the closest center. "So Spike, where was the information on your newly-developed species?" Twilight asked. Spike sniffed the air, and glanced around. "It's in one of these buildings, but I'd avoid the closest one for now. I smell some dinosaurs running around everywhere in that one." Spike said, getting a rumble of agreement from the other Indominus. "So I'd say the building closest to your old enclosure." Twilight concluded, pointing at a building in the far-left of the cluster of buildings. Spike growled out before walking over to the door of the triceratops enclosure and bashing himself against it. The door rattled, but it held firm. Letting out a growl of irritation, Spike pushed harder against the door and was rewarded when it started groaning and leaning into the enclosure. "Spike, darling, what are you doing?" Rarity asked, watching him bang against the door. With a grunt, Spike knocked down the door and the triceratops went running off into the forest to escape the commotion. "Releasing some herbivores so that predators don't just target us." Spike said, taking a step back before shrinking. He walked forwards towards the farthest building, the mares and shrunken Indominus Rex following after him. Inside the building there were tubes with strange liquids and large computers with images of different dinosaurs on it. Large stacks of parchment were randomly located throughout the building. Pinkie Pie was having a field day staring into the various bubbling liquids in test tubes, giggling to herself as Spike snorted in amusement with the Indominus staring at the pink pony in confusion. "So this is where she...made dinosaurs?" Rainbow asked, bringing the attention of the two apex predators to her, making her chuckle in embarrassment. "More like playing the role of a goddess" Twilight spat out, looking over pieces of parchment with different information, passing them to the other ponies after reading them. "You'll need a meat diet now, meaning we'll need the help of Fluttershy and the Princessess." Twilight said, "She only used carnivore DNA." "By the way Fluttershy, why aren't you afraid of me?" Spike said, glancing back at the timid mare. "My specialty is dealing with animals and nature. With you acting more like a dinosaur than a dragon, you're acting more like a predator like the wolf family I occasionally care for." Fluttershy explained, and Spike exhaled before staring at the Indominus, who stared back. He could tell in her eyes, she was concerned about the ponies hurting them, and with his eyes, he tried to convey his trust and relief about them. "And that varmint got away." Applejack said as she passed a parchment detailing the DNA experiments to Rarity. Not that she understood a whole lot of the convoluted words on it, but she knew that DNA + Experiments = Spike's current look and situation. Rarity, on the other hoof, could understand them and was turning green at what she was reading. Spike paid no attention to the looks being sent his way (nor the deflating of Pinkie's mane and tail) and walked over to a control pattern and pressed a button before a buzzing sound echoed, the doors to the other paddocks opened. There was a loud rumbling similar to a stampede, making Spike tense before stomping out of the building and growing to his maximum size. "Isn't nature fascinating?" Fluttershy asked, watching a hungry spinosaurus pin down and kill a triceratops. The other ponies were looking decidedly sick. The Indominus growled, obviously hungry. Spike felt the same, and there were prey species nearby. Their pupils narrowed into thin catlike slits as they gazed upon a limping ankylosaurus. The hunt was on. Spike and the Indominus adjusted their chromatophores and camouflaged themselves among the environment. "Oh boy. They're hungry." Fluttershy said, entranced by the scene. "What do you mean?" Rainbow Dash asked, but was answered when the female became visible and latched onto the Ankylosaurus' club tail and lifted it into the air. It let out a loud cry, causing the other herbivores to scatter away from the scene, and that movement caused the other predators to chase after them into the nearby forest. It was then Spike became visible, letting out a loud roar before clamping his jaws around it's throat and then twisted, making a loud crack echo in the air as its neck broke. The Indominus dropped the dead ankylosaurus and Spike rotated it so it's belly was exposed. He turned his gaze to the ponies who rescued them; his friends, who were turning green as the Indominus clawed at the dead herbivore's belly (oddly with the exception of Fluttershy), and he snorted and bit into the soft underbelly and tore a chunk out and swallowed it, leading the female to do the same. The female tore in more ravenously that Spike did, as he occasionally looked back at the "Main 6" until he finally decided to turn his back towards them in shame. This caused the female to look up and she saw Spike in distress with his back turned to the ponies. She let out a loud call. "GRRRRRAAAAAAASSSSSHHHHH" The hiss-like roar was aimed at them as her red eyes narrowed at the ponies and she tore viciously into the meal. "Huh. The female is warning us." Fluttershy said, engrossed at watching nature at work. "Warning us?" Twilight asked, pulling her eyes away from the grotesque scene in front of her. It was one thing knowing your "number one assistant" needed to eat meat to survive. It was totally another thing to see said "number one assistant" follow the instincts of an apex predator and tear into a dead animal he killed. "Spike is in distress....he probably thinks he's horrible for following nature's perfectly natural place for him, and the female sees that and is blaming...us." Fluttershy said, and the eyes of the other ponies were drawn to her at that statement. "The female let out that sound saying that she'd make a meal of us if we continue to hurt him." Their gazes turned away from Fluttershy and skirted over the rapidly being devoured ankylosaurus to see Spike's behavior. His back was turned to them, and he was no longer making eye contact. He soon pulled away from the ankylosaurus, having eaten his fill, and stood overlooking his old paddock. Not once did he look back at the mares, which sent a pang in their hearts. Then he began to do something strange; he lifted his head and sniffed the air before he turned and charged at them, roaring. A loud hissing growl echoed from behind them caused the mares to turn and see a velociraptor leap from the bushes, sickle claws raised and ready to tear into them, but Spike ran past them and the velociraptor latched onto him and started digging its sickle claws into his chest. He roared in pain, but his right arm reached up and knocked the velociraptor onto the ground with scratches from Spike's claws on its chest. It hissed at him and leaped at his injured chest, only to get caught in Spike's jaws with his razor sharp teeth piercing bone and flesh and he shook the raptor like a rag doll before tossing it at a building. It stood up, bleeding from the scratch and punctures, and Spike hissed at it. It narrowed it's yellow eyes and walked towards the forest making cackling chirp like sounds. Spike glared at the direction is slunk off in, and sniffed the air to make sure no other threat was around. With a snort, he turned around and locked eyes with the Indominus. It let out a calming gruff sounding huff to reassure him that everything was safe. Spike knew how horrifying he must look to the mares; blood dripping from the wounds on his chest and from his teeth. Without a word, he moved to a nearby pond and ducked his head into it, opening his mouth and drinking from the water, lifting his head up only when he thought his mouth was rinsed from excess blood. The Indominus let out a huff at this, but also drank and washed up. Spike moved and stood close to the "Main 6", but never made eye contact or faced them. He occasionally sniffed the air to make sure nothing was tracking them. Fluttershy hummed a calming tune as the Indominus watched her every move as she went from building to building and gathered white medical supplies and piled them at Spike's feet. Once satisfied with the number she obtained, Fluttershy opened the first medical supply box and started cleaning Spike's injury. Occasionally Spike would wince, then relax. This behavior confused the Indominus, and she drew closer. Then, to her shock, Fluttershy started caring for her wounds. She felt the sting of the healing liquid, and the relief of the feeling old wounds no longer itch or sting constantly. She gazed into Spike's eyes, starting to comprehend what he had mentioned to her earlier. "Alright then, the girls and I have to ensure that the town recovers after Starlight's brainwashing and everyone gets their cutie marks back." Twilight said and Spike lowered himself and she rubbed a hoof against his snout. He breathed in her familiar, comforting scent. "Once that is complete we'll head home...with both of you." A smile spread across Spike's toothy maw. The Indominus couldn't believe what she heard. She was an apex predator; a killing machine. Yet, she was accepted? She was not as concerned about the 'yellow flying equine' after she had treated her wounds, but now she was within reach of the 'flying purple horned one' and her instincts were telling her that this 'Twilight' was powerful. Not as powerful as her, of course, but she could pose a threat. Still, following Spike's example, she bent down and took in Twilight's scent. Pinkie was bounding around, and the Indominus took in her scent as well, she smelled...sweet, as in she would have needed to drink a lot of water if she ate that pony. Spike, feeling the stress of the past events leaving him, laid down in front of Twilight and closed his eyes. He let out a loud rumble before his breathing steadied out into a soft, rhythmic pattern. "Did Spikey-wikey just fall asleep?" Rarity asked, and the Indominus let out a few grunting snorts at that...she was laughing at that nickname! "He's been through a lot with what he went through. I think this is the first time he could completely relax." Twilight said, nuzzling his shout as the Indominus laid down next to him and also closed her eyes.
