“Are we all set?” My father said as he loaded the car with the last of the luggage. “Yeah dad” we were all ready to go on our family vacation. We were planning this for weeks, and we decided to go to Orlando. My two brothers were stoked and were chatting wildly about it as they walked into the car. My mom was in the passenger seat reading silently and intently on her novel.
I went to the back seat and helped my sister put on her seat belt, as I did I took a seat right next to her and proceeded to slip on my own seat belt. My dad took his seat and revved up the engine saying “Is everyone ready to go?” We all let out a “yeah” of approval and he backed out of the driveway.
I looked back at the orange house that was my home and let out a silent goodbye as it shrunk from my view. I slipped my headphones into my ears and started to scroll down to the vast list of songs I had acquired. My brothers were arguing about who was better at playing video games. All they do is argue and it’s starting to get on everyone’s nerves.
I looked at the stars noticing each and every constellation as far as the eye can see, the night was one of the most magnificent beauties I’ve ever seen. Whenever I looked up at the night sky I always felt at peace. A couple minutes after we reached the highway a faint humming sound was heard, it kept on rising in pitch every second.
I took of the headphones to see If I wasn’t hearing things. Once I did the sound became earsplitting then a catastrophic explosion which in turn made the car start to toss and turn over the asphalt of the freeway and into a gorge. As the sounds of breaking glass and the screeching of metal filled my bleeding ears, the world as I knew it faded into darkness. The last thing that I thought was ‘the pain is unbearable’.
When I awakened the pain that had covered my body before was completely gone. My head had felt like it had been pounded with a mallet. As I got up the pounding on my head increased, so I sat back down and tried to open my eyes, the light that entered my irises blinded me and a the new sensation in my eyes told me that I need to shut them before I go physically blind. I mustered up my courage and let out
“Is anybody there?”
“Son?”
“Dad?”
I got up from where I sat and tried to follow the sound of his voice. “Nick?” I heard a new voice now I realized that it was the voice of my younger sister. “Sis” I finally opened my eyes the blinding light had reduced massively. I could see that we were in a void of some sort that changed colors respectively with grace and style. “Abi” “Nick” my sister ran from the comforts of my parents and gave me a loving hug. As we hugged each other a booming voice appeared. “I am the lord”
At this moment I was freaking out, and I could feel a cold sweat dripping down my neck the lord doesn’t just talk to you unless something important was going to happen. “You have all died a horrible death, and I feel sorry for you all, you died long before your respective time. So I will give the six of you three choices heaven, hell, or anywhere you want as long as it doesn’t involve going back to earth.”
My mom called a family meeting and we all gathered around her in a huddle. “Ok where do you guys want to go?” “I’m fine with almost anything.” I said nonchalantly. “Then my sister suggested why don’t we go to…” but my bother intervened and said “No for the love of god, I know what you’re about to say and we are not going there.” “Why not?” my sister said with a sad look on her face that would make you cry on the spot. My brother saw this and said “Stop making that face it’s not going to work.” “Just let her speak her mind” Noah my other brother piped up. “Fine” he said while grumbling to himself.
Immediately Abi’s smile returned “can we go live with Dora?” My parents looked at each other bewilderment could be seen across their face. I broke the huddle and started laughing hysterically, my sides started to burn with that old aching feeling but I ignored it and kept laughing. When I was done I quickly wiped the tear from my eye and regained my composer. “Alright in all seriousness we need to choose where were going to go.” My father had finally spoken despite everything that has happened.
“While we’re on the subject of going somewhere, I vote we go to Equestria.” Once Noah said this he turned his face away. He’s always been a closet brony as far as I can tell he never announced he was a brony to us until he watched the entire my little pony episodes before he decided he was.
“I second that I say.” If there was anything I loved to talk about was the show and living there would be one of the best possible things to happen to me. Then Nathan spoke up “no we are not going there ether I hate that show and I’d rather not live there.”
“Mom could we please go to Equestria” my little sister chimed in, the only show that she liked other than Dora was my little pony.
“You too Abi” Nathan said with a disgusted look on his face. My mom looked like she was thinking about this option although she has heard me talk about Equestria (a lot one time she even threatened to turn the cable off ounce) she knew it was mostly a safe environment. After about a minute or so she spoke up “I think Equestria would be a great place to live.”
My dad just shrugged while Nathan just let out a groan Abi hopped around in a circle happily. “We will take the third option and we shall go to Equestria” my mom proudly announced to god.
The next moment was filled with unimaginable my body felt like it was about to burst. When it subsided I opened my eyes to see that we were seated in some kind of waiting room. The room was pink adorned with yellow beads. There were three tables in the room and each had a flower vase with a tulip inside. Lastly the couch I was sitting on was half white and half midnight blue.
Before I could register what was going on our why I’m hear a brown unicorn mare with a scroll of parchment came in and beckoned us to follow her. When we came out of the room we followed her down the hall until we stopped at an elegant looking door. We went through the door and the mare addressed spoke to Princess Celestia “Princess this family has been going through problems in our fair city of Canterlot, and wish to be relocated to a town called PonyVille but they wish for you to purchase them a house with materials that will satisfy their needs while they live there. “I looked up to see Princess Celestia and thought she looked more majestic up close.
After some time she announced her decision “I think that’s a wonderful Idea and will abide to their request, now send in the next pony who requires my assistants.” As we walked out of the castle we were being escorted to the train station. My sister looked to be hopping around us with joy. I mean this is a little girl’s dream, to be a walking talking pony with other ponies.
The train station wasn’t that far from the castle and only took us about 20 minutes to reach our destination. While walking down the streets some of the ponies around stop to look at us, once they did they had looks of utter disgust plastered on their faces. I paid them no mind because once we leave I had no plans of returning.
As we reached the train station the guards left us to go attend to other duties. My mom went to the cashier and bought us each a ticket with money from her saddle bags. I would of questioned how she got the money but I was very tired at the moment. We all made are way into the train and took a seat I welcomed sleep as it was a long day and I needed my rest.
‘Hah you are a weakling I guess you’ll have to do though’.
That was the last voice/thought I heard before I succumbed to the darkness.
