Preparations for the Gala
Pinkie and Rarity were in Carousel Boutique, trying on outfits the purple maned mare had created for the gala. Pinkie was wearing a green, yellow, and pink dress, lined with peppermint candies. "Oh, Darling! Wherever did you find that hideous dress?" Rarity snorted, shocked that this monstrosity of a dress had come out of HER designs. "Outta that closet over there! Candies and bright colours are my two favorite things! Cakes too. Oh, and cookies, Donuts..." Rarity didn't listen to Pinkies nonsensical mumbles. She tore open the closet to observe the contents, and saw the most respulsive designs she had ever seen in her life. Sweetie Belle popped up behind her, with a grin. "Do you like them big sis? I made them myself!" Rarity took a deep inhale, as not to scream, and turned to her sister. "I love them, Sweetie, but they are not what I had in mind. No hard feelings?" She forced a smile. Her mouth felt like it was frozen, she tried her best not to frown. Sweetie Belle grinned. "I'm glad you like them big sis!" She galloped back upstairs. Rarity sighed with relief. "Now, Pinkie Darling, try this one?" Rarity levitated a light blue evening gown lined with white lace. The belt was white as well with candies lining it, a fine accent. "I love it!" Pinkie jumped for joy, nearly toppling one of Rarity's 2,000 bit mannequins. "Do be careful darling. Those things aren't cheap." A few days later, Rarity had designed stunning outfits for each of her friends and herself. Twilight wore a violet gown with midnight blue accents. Her star barrette and and scarf made up for the barren details, however. Applejack had an orange dress with cream accents, along with a brown belt with an apple buckle. She was also wearing lace-up boots. Fluttershy wore a pink dress, with white poofy hem and butterfly accents to match her cutie mark. Rainbow Dash wore a tight rainbow dress with a sleek golden collar, and her golden greek-inspired feather barrettes from the last gala. Rarity's dress, however, stole the show. It was a stunning silver evening gown with slighty darker hem, lined with the finest diamonds. Her barrette bore the same accessories. "Is everyone ready for the gala?" Rarity asked gleefully, to several agreeing responses. "I've hired the finest coachmen in ponyville. There is, however, a catch. We will have an extra passenger with us. That's fine, isn't it girls?" Murmurs rose. "The carriage is nearly here, get outside!" Rarity shouted, bolting out the door. She faced the girls. "There shall be 3 carriages. One for AppleJack and Rainbow Dash. One for Twilight,Pinkie, and Spike. As well as One for me and the extra passenger, so be prepared! Here they are now!" The girls began to chatter excitedly, carefully filing into the carriages. "Off to the Gala we go!"
Rarity trotted through the magnificent purple doors into the entrance hall. As she waited in the long line, she wondered,Who should I go to for advice...Twilight? No. The knowledge she doesn't have is Romantic knowledge..Pinkie? Ugh, she'd suggest a party..Applejack? She doesn't have the most romantic knowledge either..same goes for Rainbow Dash..and Fluttershy only knows about animals! Oh, whoever shall I turn to?! That's when Rarity noticed Lily, Roseluck, and Daisy with some good looking stallions. She left her spot in line, a normally regrettable choice, and trotted up to them. "Girls!" She whisper-shouted. "Come here!" Lily seemed to be the only one to hear her, and whispered to Roseluck and Daisy. They turned to her and trotted over. "Oh, Rarity! When did you get here? How's your evening? 'No time for idle chitchat! I need advice ASAP! It's an emergency!'" The girls gasped. "An emergency?" Lily worried. "Oh it must be dire!" Roseluck put in. "This is not good!" Daisy prompted before the 3 mares fainted. Rarity rolled her eyes. "Oh, it's a good emergency. Im in love..and I need help with wooing him." They got back up. "Sweetie, why didn't ya say so sooner! Roseluck is an expert!" Daisy said. Roseluck blushed. "I've..wooed my fair share of stallions..heh. Bring him lots of gifts, and try to act beautiful. Oh, and make the gifts expensive, and in large amounts." Rarity worried. "I hope I have enough bits.. and enough beauty and poise...Who am I kidding? Im rich! Im also very beautiful! Im ready for him!" The next day, Rarity used her uniphone, a holographic phone displayed by unicorn magic, to search up the location of Armadillo Villa, then swooped into Silver Buttons, the local gift shop, to see what she could find. A pair of black ponybeats headphones caught her eye. "They're only 50 bits? They're in great condition as well! He will love this!" Then she spotted a trottingham premium music player. Only 20 bits. "What perfect gifts for my perfect stallion." She bought everything then followed her uniphone gps to Armadillo Villa. It was a gigantic apartment complex. "Oh, I hope I can find his home. I'll ask the Landlord." She managed to get that he lived in Apartment 2B in Building 6. "Here we are.." Rarity tooked a deep breath and knocked on the door, then posed for him, levitating the gifts.
Neon Beats couldn't stop thinking about the mare from last night. Her beautifully curled mane, and her dress was stunning! She was perfect. But he didnt get her name..what a stupid mess he was...Thump Thump! Someone was at the door. He opened it, shocked to see the Mare standing before him, in a strange pose with gifts.
Rarity looked at his dumbfounded expression. She realized that she was a stupid mess, stalking a stallion she didn't even know. She left the pose and lowered her head. "I'm sorry...I shouldn't have tried to find you..I-I just couldn't lose the thought of you ever since I saw you in that carriage. I even bought you gifts..." She dropped them at his hooves. "I love you. But your too good for me." Neon blushed. "I love you too..and I couldn't stop thinking about you either. I think you're too good for me." This was true love.
"Off to the Gala we go!" Rarity pulled her dress out of the door and shut it, then looked at the young stallion beside her. He had grey fur with a neon green mane and black stripes. He had headphones on listening to some music, the mp3 covering his cutie mark. Normally, Rarity would wonder why this stallion wasn't wearing anything to the gala, and state how horrid a choice it was. But something was special about this pony. As Rarity looked at him, a new and unfamiliar emotion swept over her, consuming her every thought. His bright green eyes...his sterling silver fur... he was perfect. "WE HAVE ARRRIVED AT NEON BEATS DESTINATION. PLEASE LEAVE THE CARRIAGE.", the driver yelled. He stepped off the carriage, his muscular flanks causing the carriage to creak, and walked down a pathway labeled Armadillo Villa. A sudden thought flashed in Rarity's mind. I must meet this handsome young stallion! Rarity's thoughts were interuppted when Spike boarded the carriage. "Twilight said I could uh, ride with you. If you don't mind." Rarity snapped back to reality. "Oh, not at all Spikey-Wikey! Get comfy!" A blue aura, Rarity's, slammed the carriage door shut. "NOW LEAVING ARMADILLO VILLA. PLEASE SECURE YOURSELVES." The carriage started moving again. Spike looked at Rarity. "You look...shaken. Are you ok?" The words came spilling out of her mouth. "Oh, Spike! I just met the most handsome young stallion I've ever seen! I must meet him!" Spike's tail drooped. "Oh Spike..Your the most handsome Dragon I've ever seen..BUT THIS STALLION! OH!" "Uh..Thanks?" Spike said. WE HAVE ARRIVED AT THE GRAND GALLOPING GALA. PLEASE LEAVE THE CARRIAGE." Rarity levitated the edge of her dress into the air and carefully left the carriage. Tonight was going to be full of plans..for meeting Neon Beats, of course.
