   It was the break of dawn as we moved up the street. There was a infantry squad containing about 49 men on the side walk to the left and right while two m4 Sherman's drove at a slow pace on the road so we could stay with it. When we came to a building four or five broke off to secure the building and once it was secured they came back out a caught up to the others. We were coming up too what looked like a small bakery on our side and it was my turn and three others behind me to breach and secure. I quickly kicked to door down and rushed inside followed by three others.

   I went behind the counter to check while two of the three others entered into the kitchen in the back of the bakery while the other guy went to the basement. When I was checking the counter out I saw what looked like to be a family picture on the ground. I grabbed it and placed it on the counter to have a better look at it. In the picture were a mare and a stallion both earth ponies and a filly smiling at the camera and from the looks of it the picture was taken right by the window in the bakery with ponies just going on with their lives in the background. I looked up at the window now and the last Sherman was passing the window and the last few soldiers following in and in my mind I said "How can something like that picture turn to something ever like this".

   Then out of no where came a loud boom from the basement that shook the place a bit followed by dust and smoke rushing out of the basement door and into the room but didn't reach that far into the room before it started to dissipate. I quickly grabbed my gun and ran to the basement door followed by the other two. I yelled "You alright down there". There was complete silence indicating he was killed in the explosion.

   "What the fuck happened" one of the guys behind me said.

   I turned to him and said "I have no clue. Let's just get back with the others". I then headed out of the building being followed by the other three. I started to do a small run back to them but when I got half way some kind of spell was fired from the building down the street at the front Sherman's front. On impact the Sherman blew up then many spells were being fired at the infantry and I quickly got to cover. "Shit!" I yelled then started. I peaked over just as the Sherman put a shell in to the building. After it did 5 soldiers quickly rushed in the building that the attack came from.

   After a few minutes a sounded echoed through the building saying "Cleared". I ten slowly came out over cover and looked up as 5 P-51's passed over head. I then quickly ran up to the others and said "How many casualties are th" before another spell came from the side aiming for the other Sherman's hood but missed barley and hit me directly. I died on that day as many others did. The battle was won but took 48 hours to secure all of manehatten. This took place 5 years after war broke out and still no one had a advantage of the other.
