Chapter Two
Written by Bakmah Genesis
Due to the lack of a close, sufficient room, Twilight Solar slept in a crib in Celestia's room. Cadence suggested it for awhile until she got old enough for her old room, or when she outgrew her crib and needed an actual bed. Quill warned her about the downside to it as well which is why she is now up in the middle of the night, cradling her daughter and trying to calm her down.
Celestia ultimately ended up feeding her. Even though she has been around for thousands of years, she can't help but feel lost while taking care of her own child. There was the option of her finding someone to take her in until she was old enough to know the truth, but she didn't want to let go. It was her daughter and she would take care of it just as much as Sparkle would of.
Once fed, Celestia put Twilight over her shoulder and gently patted her back. She repeated the action until the small filly gave a small burp. For some reason, Celestia always thought the sound to be cute and funny. She giggled and set the filly back down in the crib and made sure she was tucked in. Once that was down Celestia laid in her own bed and watched Twilight from there for a few minutes. She smiled and closed her eyes to sleep until it was time to bring about day.

Celestia yawned as she walked down to the dining hall, Twilight in a little basket made to hold foals. The filly giggled and played with Celestia's flowing multicolored mane. Celestia smiled at the fact that the filly could at least get decent sleep. Celestia placed Twilight in a high chair, something she never thought she would see in the castle, and sat down.
Cadence came shortly after. She tickled Twilight and sat next to Celestia before laying her head on the table. Celestia suppressed a giggle as she watched her niece lay her head on the table in exhaustion.
"Well that's not fair. I should be the tired one considering I had to wake up twice last up to feed Twilight." said Celestia, still trying not to laugh. Cadence sat up and pulled the pot of coffee towards her.
"I'm just not a morning person. Could at least tone it down on the sun? It's bright as hell in the morning." Celestia giggled.
"I believe that's why they call it the sun." Cadence grunted and took a sip of her coffee. Once she had enough to try and wake her, she spoke.
"So, what are you planning on telling the public. News probably has already got out that the medical staff was in a frenzie a month ago. Plus, we have a foal in royal towers. That will raise even more questions." Celestia thought about it.
"We will release that I have a daughter, but not her name. We will also try and keep her out of sight of cameras as long as we can. We don't need so much attention attracted to her." Cadence nodded and took another sip of her coffee. She set down the cup and looked over at the filly.
"She is going to have a rough life. Her mother is the most powerful being in Equestria and can move the sun and moon. She will be target for many things, not all good sadly." Celestia nodded and watched her daughter play with the few toys she brought with.
"She will just have to be strong."
"Was there ever room for the weak in politics?" asked Cadence, taking a sip of her coffee.
"After looking at all the nobles, I don't even know anymore." said Celestia, levitating the hungry filly out of high chair and down below to feed. She cradled the filly with one hoof while she fed.
"She will be strong." said Cadence, grabbing a muffin off of the stack. "She is related to you."

Celestia shifted as she waited to walk in front of the crowd of reporters. She had called for a press conference to break out the news and now waited for everyone to sit down. Quill stood next to her, watching her shift about. Quill giggled, earning a confused look from Celestia.
"I think this is the first conference I've ever seen you so nervous." said Quill, smiling at the princess. Celestia smiled a bit.
"Yes, well, I'm just not sure how the public would react to her being my daughter. Ive been around for Faust knows how long and this is my first child." Quill placed a hoof on Celestia's foreleg, being to short to reach her shoulder, and smiled at her.
"You're just being a mother. I would have the same worries if I was in your place. Don't worry. I'll be standing next to you the whole time and I will help you when it's needed." Celestia smiled at the unicorn and embraced her.
"Thank you. I needed that."
"Of course. Now come on, it's time to go out." Celestia nodded and followed the unicorn out into the court yard where the conference was being held. Upon seeing her, reporters started shouting questions and taking pictures. She couldn't catch all of it but she could her questions about the medical staff a few months ago and the reports of a small filly in the castle.
Celestia stopped at a pedestal that was placed on a raised platform in front of the reporters. Raising a hoof, she silenced the reporters and began to speak.
"I am aware of rumors going around about the uproar in the medical wing of the castle and the sightings of a filly on castle grounds. They have said that there was an accident and the filly was just the daughter of a guard." She paused and scanned the crowd. Reporters wrote down her every word and payed utmost attention to her. "There was also the rumor of me giving birth to said filly and her being my daughter." She paused again, trying to gauge how they would react to the next part. "She is my daughter."
The court yard was filled with shouting as reporters shouted out questions. The noise pained her ears but she stood tall and resisted the urge to lay down her ears. She nodded to a blue stallion in the first row. He had what sounded like a Manehatten accent.
"Princess Celestia, how was it you were able to keep your pregnancy a secret for ten months?"
"I used a simple illusion spell." The questions started up again and she pointed to a Pegasus mare.
"Celestia, why is it you hid your pregnancy from Equestria until three months after the filly's birth?"
"I did not need the stress of the press during my pregnancy combined with the everyday stress I already have." She pointed to a brown mare next.
"Princess, who is the father." Celestia went rigged as the question was asked. Quill looked up at her in concern.
"The mother of my daughter is the late Captain Sparkle." This sparked a whole new wave of questions. Celestia stomped a hoof and silenced the crowd.
"I will not answer any questions about the relationship of my late marefriend, the name of my daughter, her race, or her appearance. Conference adjourned." With that she turned around and walked off the platform, holding back tears. Quill followed behind her.
"Are you alright, Princess?" asked Quill, who was walking next to her.
"You are lucky, Quill. Your parenthood wasn't this stressful." said Celestia in a sad tone.
"You've been through a lot worse in your years. You can get through this and so will Twilight." Celestia smiled at her advisor.
"I'm going to head back to my chambers. I would like to see my daughter and I could use the rest." Celestia walked down the halls of the castle until she made it to her room. After bidding Cadence farewell and thanked her for watching Twilight, she laced down and closed her eyes, wanting for the world to fall away.
"Oh Sparkle, how I wish you were here."
