"Now class, as you see here, we can clearly see that in the bone structure of this bird, that-" Mrs. Cheerilee was about to finish her explanation just as the bell rang.

"Well class, that is all for today. Make sure you study for quiz on Tuesday. It'll be more on the bone structures of different organisms that we have been studying."

Everypony got their saddlebags as they got up from their seats and walked out of the classes to head home. One pony however, waited until everypony else left. Once they left, he got out of his seat and walked out of the room. He looked around carefully because he wanted to make sure that the bullies were not lurking around. He was afraid of the bullies because ever since he was young, these other ponies would make fun of him for being adopted. They would tease him and say that his birth parents never wanted him. All he could do was to try to defend himself and try to be brave, which caused even more problems.

Back when he was five, some older students ganged up on him after he accidentally spilled some juice on one of them. They wanted to pick a fight, but all he ever wanted was for them to accept his apology. They gave a different reply, with violence. He was bucked on the side and had two blows of hooves to the face. He was sent to the hospital after a couple of teachers came into the cafeteria and found him laying on the floor. He had a little bit of blood coming out of his mouth along with bruises and a black eye. He was in so much pain.

He came back to school two weeks later to find that the students who had beat him were expelled from school after what they had done to him.

After school, the young pony came home to tell his mother the news about the bullies being expelled. He loved his mother and she was always there for him whenever he came home from school. She was a very kind soul. Even though she was not his real mother, they were very close.

When he was at the age of fifteen, his mother had told him the story about how he came to be adopted. Fifteen years earlier, she had walked outside of her house and found him wrapped in a bundle of expensive silk. She wondered who had left the colt on her doorstep and why was he wrapped up in such expensive silk? She thought there are only a few princesses in Equestria that could afford such fabric. The silk was pink - It must be Princess Cadence. She continued to tell him that she had learned from Princess Cadence that his birth mother went missing after a mountain expedition near the Crystal Empire and it was presumed she was dead. She told him that she felt so sorry for him and that's how she became his adoptive mother. She treated him like he was her own and made him part of her family. She gave him food to eat, games to play, and all the love he could want from her.

He also loved to spend time with his new brother, Button Mash. Button Mash showed him all sorts of games and gave him tutorials so that he could play better. It was like Button was his sensei and he was the student. When he was with his family, he felt comfort. As if, they were the only friends in his life. Or so he thought. Until seven years ago, a miracle came into his life out of nowhere.

When he was in the 5th grade, he was in another conflict with a bully.

He was heading towards the cafeteria for lunch when a pony blocked his path. He was a big blue and bulky looking earth pony.

"Hey Jakira the adoptive loser." He said mockingly. "Give me your lunch. I left my lunch at home so I can't eat anything till school ends."

Jakira didn't want to give it up. The bulky bully was starting to get pissed.

"Look, you can hand me the lunch and I won't break every bone in your body."

"Just go away Drake. I want to eat my lunch in peace." said Jakira as he try to slip past him.

Drake got Jakira by the hoof and pushed him towards the lockers. He was seriously more pissed off than before.

"I'm giving you my final warning. Give me the lunch and you won't end up in the hospital."

"No."

"Fine! You asked for it!"

Before Drake could even punch him, a voice from further down the hall called out his name.

"Drake!" shouted the pony from further away.

Jakira and Drake looked at the source. The pony started walking towards their direction. His fur was dark yellow. He had blue eyes as if the ocean was trapped in his eyes. His hair was light blonde which was so long it covered a bit of his horn. He walked towards them without any fear. Jakira was surprised to see how calm he was as he got closer to them.

"What do you want? Can't you se I'm busy with this twerp?!" shouted Drake.

"Leave him be." said the yellow pony. "If you lay a hoof on this innocent, then you will pay the consequences."

The expression he made when he said that really creeped out Jakira. He had a look as if he were about to kill Drake.

"Why don't you mind your own business!!!" shouted Drake as he let go of Jakira and charged at the yellow pony.

The yellow pony jumped over him with amazing skill. Jakira's mouth dropped when he saw how quick and far he jumped over Drake. Drake turned around and went for another charge. This time was different, the yellow pony made a stance as if he were about to kick a soccer ball. When Drake got close enough, the yellow pony kicked him across the face. Drake slammed against one of the lockers. Drake was bleeding from the mouth. A couple of teeth were missing. He stood up and staggered towards the yellow pony as if he wasn't going to give up. He held up a shaking hoof and collapsed onto the floor. The yellow pony got close to his ear.

"If I ever see you messing with anypony else, the next time I see you, you will feel more pain than the pain you are feeling now." he whispered.

Drake got up on his hooves and ran away limping further away down the hall.

The yellow pony walked towards Jakira and handed him a hoof.

"Are you hurt?" he said to Jakira as he helped him get to his hooves.

"No. not at all." said Jakira. "How did you learn to do what you did at Drake?"

"I take martial arts class." replied the yellow pony. "My name is Poyo Asuka. I just moved here a few days ago. What's yours?"

"My name is Jakira. I've lived here since I was a colt."

"So Jakira, have you ever been bullied like that before?"

"I've had a couple of fights with bullies while growing up. They made fun of me for being adopted or they would try and take my stuff."

"Wow. Sounds like you have quite the bully problem." said Poyo with astonishment.

"Jakira, if there is anypony else that picks on you for being different, come find me. I'll give them a lesson they'll never forget."

"That's very kind of you Poyo…Thanks."

Poyo gave him a smile as Jakira gave a smile back.

"So Jakira, you want to hang out with me during lunch?"

"Sure."

Jakira never knew that there could be somepony else out there that was really protective. Jakira and Poyo started to hang out more and more throughout the years. Poyo wasn't just a body guard to him, he was a friend. A friend willing to risk his own life for the sake of others.

Jakira went through his locker to get a couple of things before he left the school.

As he was halfway towards the schools front doors, Mrs. Cheerilee caught up to him. She handed him a bag that had a couple of carrots inside.

"Jakira Pudo. Today's your day to go and feed the rabbits. Head behind the school and give the rabbits carrots to munch on, please."

Jakira took the bag and gave Mrs. Cheerilee a smile.

"Sure thing, Mrs. Cheerilee."

Mrs. Cheerilee returned the smile and walked back to her classroom.

As Jakira walked through the hallway, he began to wonder where Poyo was. He had not been to school for the past three days.

As he was close to the back door to the backyard where the rabbits are, somepony called out his name.

"Well, well, well. If it isn't the adoptive loser of Mrs. Mash." said a familiar feminine voice.

Jakira turned around to notice Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon giving him a smug look upon their faces. Jakira knew this was going to be trouble when it came to these two. He heard a lot about them. He heard conversations that these two always think they are superior to everypony else.

"Look, I don't know what you want, but could you please leave me alone. I need to go feed the rabbits." said Jakira as he tried to stand up for himself.

"Oh, so the loser wants to feed the bunnies? I didn't know they were asking somepony like you to feed bunnies." said Silver Spoon as she cocked an eyebrow.

"Why don't you two go bug some other pony. I don't want to be involved in your 'superior to everypony else schtick' ."

"So the loser wants to defend himself. Where is your friend? You know, your knight in shining armor?" said Diamond Tiara mockingly.

"I just don't want to be involved in conflicts like this."

"Your such a pussy! Come on Silver, let's go tease some other loser outside of school."

Both mares walked towards the front doors of the school and disappeared behind the doors.

"Bitches." thought Jakira as he turned towards the back door that was a few feet away.

Before he opened the doors, he heard another familiar voice.

"Don't let those two get you down."

Jakira turned around and saw Scootaloo. She was one of the CMC's he's been hearing about that are trying to get their cutie marks. She was also one of his classmates in science class.

She walked up to him and put a hoof on his shoulder.

"Don't let them get you down" she said again. "My friends and I have always been bullied by her since we were fillies. But because of our confidence, she can never back us down."

"Why…Thank you…For the confidence." he said with shyness.

Scootaloo smiled back and walked back towards her friends Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle. She waved a hoof back at him, as he waved back in return.

Jakira went around the backyard to look for the rabbits. Mysteriously he couldn't spot any of the rabbits around the yard. He went looking around the garden till he came to the left corner of the fence and noticed a rabbit laying down. Jakira walked towards it and noticed a bit of blood coming from it's white fur. He began to shake a bit. He put his hoof on the rabbits' body, but couldn't feel a pulse at all. He then felt a tiny paw touching on his left leg. He turned around and noticed that there was a little tiny rabbit that was scared and was coming to him for comfort. He sat down and placed the bag of carrots to the side and started to pet the poor thing.

"I'm so glad your alive, Fluffy Tail." He said in a comforting voice as he petted Fluffy Tail's fur.

"How mean. Who could've done this to your mother? Don't worry, I'm here with you."

Jakira didn't know what to do with Fluffy Tail. All he wanted to do at the moment was to comfort the little thing. As he stared at Fluffy Tail, Jakira started to get flashbacks of his past.

"Your just like me. Losing your mother at such a young age. I hardly remember my mother just because I was just a colt."

He gave the poor little rabbit a hug and gently levitated him into his saddlebag which had a pouch that Fluffy Tail could fit in.

"Don't worry. I'll go ask Mrs. Cheerilee for help. She will know what to do with you."

Jakira then heard a snap behind him.

"Who's there?!" he shouted as he turned around to look at the possible cold hearted pony or ponies that are responsible for this crime of animal cruelty.

Further away from the school, two mares were sitting down enjoying a picnic together.

"So what have you been doing lately, Fluttershy?" said a green mare after taking a bite from her apple.

"Well, I have been busy taking care of a little squirrel that I found near a tree. The poor thing was groveling on the ground because of a broken leg. I had to help it, so I took it to my cottage and nursed it back to health." said Fluttershy.

"Did you release it back to it's tree or wherever it came from?"

"She's back where she belongs, with her mother and her little brother." replied Fluttershy.

"Groovy Flutters. Groovy."

"So what did you do for the past three days, Tree Hugger?"

"Well…Hmmmmmm…" Tree Hugger was silent as she was trying to remember what she had done over the past three days.

"Oh! Yesterday I tried to-" Tree Hugger was interrupted they both heard a loud noise coming from the school.

"What was that?" said Tree Hugger.

"Something must be going on down by the school." said Fluttershy as she stood up.

"Are you gonna check it out?"

"I have to, Tree Hugger. What if it's an animal in trouble? I have go see what it is."

"What about our picnic? This food will be wasted."

"Pack it all up, go to my cottage, and place it in one of my cupboards."

Tree Hugger gathered the food, drinks, and mat and placed them in Fluttershy's picnic basket. Fluttershy started to run towards the school as Tree Hugger finished packing.

"Hey Flutters!" shouted Tree Hugger in the distance. Fluttershy stopped then turned around to look back at her friend that was trying to get her attention.

"When would you like to meet again?!"

"I'll see you tomorrow!" replied Fluttershy as she waved goodbye to her friend.

"Groovy! See ya then!"

They both turned around and Tree Hugger headed towards Fluttershy's cottage to drop off her picnic basket and Fluttershy ran towards the school.

"Please be OK whoever it is." thought Fluttershy as she ran towards the school.

Jakira was on the ground clinging on to Fluffy Tail in a attempt to save the poor thing.

"Come on kid. Hand over the rabbit and we swear we won't beat the shit out of you. We're using it for target practice." said a diamond dog with a scar close to his eye.

Jakira never expected it to be a couple of diamond dogs. These guys were horrible. The one that kicked him had a scar near his eye from possibly a brutal fight. The second had his hair slicked back as if he was trying to be cool. He was the shortest of the three. The third is who really worried Jakira. He was taller than the other two and he had a chain at his paws which he used as a whip. These guys looked very dangerous.

"Awwww. The little bunny wabbit lost his famiwy from a couple of diamond dogs. How mean." said the slick haired diamond dog in a mocking voice. The three diamond dogs got a good laugh of his stupid imitation of Jakira.

"Alright let me tell ya something, buddy. Give us the rabbit and we won't have to break your neck." said the slick haired diamond dog as the taller diamond dog pushed Jakira against the fence.

"Think about how it would snap. I'd like to hear that."

Jakira got up to his hooves and ran towards the back doors when the the diamond dog with the scar, shot a rock at Jakira's hoof with his slingshot. Jakira fell to the ground still clinging on to Fluffy Tail.

"You know what?" said the diamond dog with the scar. "Rabbits aren't the only things we can use for target practice. Now hand over the rabbit, kid!"

The tall diamond dog got a firm grip on his chain as he walked closer towards Jakira.

"You know, holding on that rabbit is bad for your health, kid." said the tall diamond dog as he crouched down.

Jakira got up to his hooves while holding on to Fluffy Tail and looked at the diamond dog with the scar.

"I can't let you have him…I…I just can't let you abuse him for your games."

"Yes you fucking can, you little shit!" said the slicked haired diamond dog as he kicked Jakira. Jakira was against the wall near the back doors still clinging on to Fluffy Tail.

The tall diamond dog walked towards Jakira with his paw opening up.

"Hand over the rabbit."

Jakira shook his head.

"You're not that brave you know, you're just fucking stupid. I'm gonna have to knock some sense into ya."

The tall diamond dog grabbed ahold of his chain and flung it to the side of the wall, which was just a few inches closer to Jakira's head. Jakira's eyes went wide as he saw how deep the chain went into the wall.

"Sweet Celestia. That could've killed me." thought Jakira as he still had his eyes on the chain.

"I'm warning ya kid. You better do what he says, this guy can be a psycho if you piss him off." said the diamond dog with the slick hair.

Jakira felt fire burning within him. He felt like saying something he never expected to say to anypony or anything.

"Fuck you!" said Jakira.

The two diamond dogs looked with surprise at what he just said to them. The diamond dog with a scar began to smile. The tall diamond dog's face turned bright red as he pulled out the chain from the wall and whipped it at Jakira in the head while he desperately held onto Fluffly Tail. The tall diamond dog was about to bring in another blow when the diamond dog with a scar interrupted him.

"That's enough!! Don't be an idiot, the kids not worth it!" he said with a demanding voice.

He walked over to Jakira. Jakira was in pain and was starting to bleed near the horn in his forehead.

"Hey kid." he said while crouched down so that Jakira could hear better, "You're a stupid little fucker, but I have to admit, you've got guts.
It would be best for you if you overlooked this incident. But don't be an asshole in the future, got it?"

Jakira replied by giving him a nod.

After that, Fluttershy appeared from the corner of the building. Her eyes were wide with shock.

"Oh my Goodness!" shouted Fluttershy as the diamond dogs and Jakira looked towards her.

"Come on boys. Let's get out of here." said the diamond dog with a scar close to his eye.

They obeyed and walked away from Jakira and Fluffy Tail. They disappeared as they dropped down into the hole that they had dug to get to the school. Jakira stood up on his hooves still clinging onto Fluffy Tail, and looked back at the pony.

"Are you alright?" she asked with a soft and tender voice.

"My body aches a bit and my head is bleeding." replied Jakira as he limped over to grab his saddlebag. He placed Fluffy Tail gently in the pouch.

"Could you help me take Fluffy Tail to Mrs. Cheerilee?"

"What happened?" She replied with a cocked eyebrow.

"I came here to feed the bunnies and found Fluffy Tail close to his mothers' dead body. The diamond dogs had killed her. They had used her for target practice. Luckily, I was here to protect Fluffy Tail here."

"I'm so glad you saved him." she said with a smile on her face.

Jakira started to blush a bit on his peach colored fur. This very nice pony gave him a hoof to help him stand up.

"Oh. We haven't introduced ourselves. My name is Fluttershy. For short, Someponies call me 'Flutters'. What's yours?"

Jakira had a tough time replying back. Never has he seen any mare been this sweet and beautiful that is willing to help him. He was getting nervous as they walked towards the back doors.

"Um…Is there…Something wrong?" She asked with curiosity.

Jakira came back to reality.

"Oh. It's uh…Jakira." he replied back to her.

"Well…It's a pleasure to meet you then, Jakira." she said with a smile.

Jakira smiled back at her.

They made it to Mrs. Cheerilee's classroom and told her about the incident with the diamond dogs. Jakira handed Fluffy Tail to Mrs. Cheerilee who started to cry. She walked up to Jakira and hugged him tight.

"Thank Celestia you saved little Fluffy Tail. Thank you very much."

Mrs. Cheerilee let go of Jakira as he stood there with surprise in his eyes.

"Jakira, you are considered a hero in my book."

"Mine too." complimented Fluttershy.

Jakira was never called a hero before. The only hero he ever knew in reality is Poyo. Jakira started to feel happy. Tears began to fall from his eyes. Mrs. Cheerilee and Fluttershy watched him with surprise.

"What's wrong Jakira?" said Fluttershy.

"I…Have never been called a 'hero' before. It just…Makes me…So happy that I saved a life today." said Jakira as he sat down on the floor covering his face with his hooves.

He began to sob. Fluttershy walked over to him and gave him a hug. He instantly, stopped sobbing and looked at her.

"No tears please. You should feel grateful that you saved little Fluffy Tail today."

Jakira sniffled and got back up to his hooves. He brushed his black hair back, trying to get his hair out of his face. Fluttershy noticed that a bit of blood was coming off of his forehead near his horn. She looked back at Mrs. Cheerilee.

"Excuse me Mrs. Cheerilee, Do you know where the school nurse is?"

"Go down the hall towards the front doors. Her office will be on the left near the drinking fountain."

"Thank you. Have a good day Mrs. Cheerilee." said Fluttershy as she and Jakira waved back to her as they left to get to the school nurse.

Jakira and Fluttershy made it to the nurses office. She knocked on the door to get the nurses attention. No reply. Fluttershy pushed the door open which was surprisingly unlocked.

"Hello?" said Fluttershy as she looked through the office.

There was nopony in there. Fluttershy began walk further into the office. Still no sign of the nurse.

"Looks like the nurse isn't here." said Jakira.

Fluttershy looked back at him with a smile.

"Looks like I'll have to nurse you instead." she said with a smile.

Jakira blushed.

"You know how to nurse?"

"Sure. I always help somepony or creature get better again. Now come here and sit down on this chair."

Jakira sat down as Fluttershy went through the office to find a towel.

Three minutes later, she found a towel and walked towards the sink and turned on the water to hot. She walked back to Jakira with a warm, slightly soaked, towel and started to rub it on his dry and bloody face.

Jakira couldn't take his eyes off of Fluttershy. She hardly knew him and couldn't understand why she would be so helpful him.

"Um…Fluttershy." he asked with nervousness.

"Yes Jakira?"

"Why are you so kind to me?"

"Well, because I am an element of harmony. My element is 'kindness'. "

"So that's why." thought Jakira.

"Well…Your kindness is…Beautiful." he said as his face began to flush.

Fluttershy stopped rubbing the now cold, slightly wet towel on Jakira and looked at him.

"Um…Thank you." she said with a little blush.

Fluttershy got ahold of the towel and hanged it on a drying rack. She walked back to him and together, left the nurses office.

They both walked to the front doors. Before Fluttershy could opened the doors, Jakira walked up to her with with nervousness.

"Um…Fluttershy."

"Yes jakira?"

He began to fidget with his hooves by swinging them back and forth.

"Would you like to... Walk home with me?" he asked with a bit of worry in his voice.

Fluttershy smiled.

"Sure."

They both walked out of the school together. Jakira was feeling a warmth in his heart. He never knew he had such feelings for somepony he just met in one day. She may be that special somepony of his life. Jakira walked happily with her as the sun sets further in the distance.
