A Strange Start to an Even Stranger Day
It's a beautiful morning; the sky is clear, Celestia's sun is shining perfectly, and the flowers are in bloom: perfect day to make a move.
"That's what I intend on doing, good lookin" I sarcastically told myself in the mirror.
"Who?" a furry thing on my shoulder asked.
"Ugh, not this shit again. Owlicious, I'm talking to myself. When will you ever get that right?"
"Whooooo..." a depressed cry came from the owl.
"Good," I smirked.

Hey there, the name's Spike, Spike the Dragon, that is. Today is the day. It's the day when I become a man. I will asked Rarity, the love of my life, to dinner tonight. We will have a lovely time. And then, she'll kiss me.
I made my way to the shower. Gotta look my best.
I have already have it planned out. After finding and selling some gems, I was able to get a suit and make reservations to the fanciest restaurant in all of Manehattan; The Shining Hoof. And, with a few bits left, I can get her some jewelry as well.
It's the best idea I've come up with in a long time. No possible way I could fuck this up.
"Twilight! I'm up!" I shouted downstairs.
Coming downstairs, I was bombarded with smoke and the smell of burnt dough. Oh god, she's cooking again.
"Good morning Spike. How'd you sleep?" Her cheerful morning smile always makes me happy.
This is Twilight Sparkle. She's the whole reason I am where I am in my life. She's kinda like my big sister/mother 'cause she's good at taking care of me, even though we're completely different species. And ever since being promoted to Alicorn-status, living with Twilight has been really easy and calm. Well, for the most part, as she still can't cook even with her amazing magic.
"Like a cloud. Speaking of clouds, I see you're cooking again. You should be glad we live in a castle instead of tree now, or else we'd have nowhere to live."
It's fun to mess with her. Like, really fun.
"Ha ha. You are a comedic genius," she said, deadpanned. Even her sarcasm is charming.
I made my way to Twilight and gave her a great big hug. My arms wrapped around her back so hard that I could have sworn I heard a snap.
"Ow. Darn it, Spike. I told you not to be this affectionate this early in the morning."
"I'm sorry Twi, I just can't help it. I'm on top of the world right now." I really was.
"Oh yeah, you were gonna do that... thing... today. Remind me please."
I happily told her. "I'm taking Rarity for that date tonight, remember? I told you literally all last night."
I made my way to the door, dressed in my black hoodie and sweatpants.
"Well, I'm gonna go now, wish me luck." I said as I open the door.
"Hold it!" I heard her yell. God fucking dammit.
"Whaaaaaaat?" I whined at her. I'm really not in the mood for her shit right now, I'm busy trying to impress Rarity.
Twilight made her way to me as she disappeared the smoke away using her magic.
"Did you check the library?"
"Yes, Twilight, for like the 40th time this week."
"Alright, I'm just checking; because ever since you've turned 19, you've gotten lazier and lazier."
Bullshit! "Bullshit!"
"Spike! I'm serious! All you do is sit around eating jewels or fantasizing about Rarity!"
"Twilight, I'm really not in the mood for you'r nagging. I have to go."
Right as I opened the front door, she grabbed my hand.
"Spike, I'm not trying to nag," she calmly said to me. "I'm just looking out for you. You're an adult now, and you don't act like it all that much. I don't want you to be putting things off like you used to, because you won't get Rarity if you act like that."
You won't get Rarity if you act like that.
She, she actually thinks I'll get her?
"You actually believe that I'll get Rarity?" I'll admit, I haven't been this shocked in a while.
"Well, yeah! You're a great guy. You're talented, funny, smart, caring, good at cooking, handso-"
