Chapter 1 The Final Ponytrap

I, Rainbow Moon, had just finished burying my love’s cremains underground in his tombstone at the Stones of Tears. His name was engraved on it, “Double Rainbow,” with a heart and a rainbow over the heart. It was night now. There wasn’t much time. I needed to get back to the fortress and finish this. I used my horn creating a rainbow portal that I used to warp back to the derelict fort. I returned to the den and got Double Rainbow’s knife. It wouldn’t take long for Roadkill and the mortician, Peaceful Memories to notify the alicorns of what they witnessed. I went down into the dark and dreary dungeon.
There I found my next subject. He was an evil pony. I left him in the dungeon part of the fort under the curse of my sleep spell. He would not awaken until I revered it so he was out like a light. I set up the traps using magic and put everything in place. It only took a few seconds. One of his front hooves and one of his back hooves were wrapped in barbed wire that kept him stationary. The only way to be able to leave was to cut off his two hooves. Behind Tracker was the stairs that would lead to fort’s opening. In front of Tracker and between us was a rug, not the special gift rug that I had given to my mate, that turned into my body armor. I activated the counter spell, knowing it would take only a few moments for him to come back to life.
The pony in front of me was an investigator for Princess Celestia, the best she had. But even he had skeletons in his closet. He was part of law enforcement, but now he needed to face justice. It was his fate. I will reveal that while Roadkill slept for an hour or so, that is when I snuck out of the area and knocked out Tracker. I knew he would be coming soon and it all worked out perfectly.
The pony began to stir. In a moment he stood up. Knowing what had happened. The pony looked at me.
I said, “I know the past, the present, and the future. When it comes to you Tracker, I know everything. You purposefully hid evidence in the murder case of the griffon, Behind Schedule, who was put to death for Drop Zone’s crimes. You had evidence that Behind Schedule was innocent, but you concealed it. You knew he was, well, behind schedule, with his deliveries and, therefore, could not have been the criminal who was killing innocent ponies. You essentially were one of the ponies who put the griffon to death for lying. You are an evil pony. You need to learn how to become a good pony. It means that you have to suffer the consequences from your actions and that your punishment should reflect the wrongdoings you have done.”
“This is ridiculous! This is impossible! You can’t possibly know what I or any other pony has done or has not done. ”
I walked forward with Double Rainbow’s Knife floating in the air like a cloud using magic.
I stated, “Let’s have fun. For the thrill of it. Play the game.”
Tracker no doubt knew what was coming up next. I went to the front right hoof that was bound with the wire and using the knife cut it off. Tracker screamed in pain and tried to squirm out of the barbed wire’s bind, but couldn’t. I finished the deed and dropped the knife in front of him.
After dropping the knife, I said, “Don’t look a gift horse in the mouth. You know what you need to do, so don’t keep me waiting.”
“By Celestia.” Tracker stated as he picked up the knife and started chopping away at his rear left hoof, knowing that it was going to be most painful.
Tracker finished with the operation and was now free. Tracker knew how the trap worked from investigating Double Rainbow’s crimes. Tracker knew that if he tried to attack the pony in front of him he would die by activating the second trap. Tracker knew that if he just left he would be okay.
Tracker painfully retreated heading towards the stairs. It was difficult walking around with diagonal hooves missing. He stepped on a stone that gave way into the floor. The investigator activated the trap. A large sword came out of the floor and impaled him.
Looking at me, Tracker shouted, “I was supposed to win this! I learned my lesson.”
I, Rainbow Moon, informed, “Both ways were booby trapped. Unlike Double Rainbow’s traps, no pony survives my game.”
Then a large axe crashed down from the ceiling decapitating him, resulting in his death. Tracker, horrified, then passed away.
I picked up the knife and sheathed it into the appropriate spot in my armor. The rug was just rug from the castle. I donned the rug of my deceased mate and it had that turned into my body armor. Both ways were booby trapped, which was different than my dead mate. But this pony knew the secret of beating the trap, so a better ponytrap had to be made for him, specifically, even though I might have used such an operation before. The though made me chuckle.
With Tracker’s trap and death, Double Rainbow’s work was complete. Now all that remained was my tasks.
