Sinking Feeling
Previous ChapterNext Chapter[Everfree Forest.]
[Day 23.]
The sun made the air warm in the forest. Birds chirped in the trees. A brown stallion walked between trees as he carried a dead eagle on his back. One of its wings at a disgusting angle. Blood spilling from the top of its head, coating its white feathers in red. The stallion walked until he came apon a clearing in the trees he had made. The piles of dirt from were he ripped the trees out of the ground and piled them next to his and his friends camp. George threw the bird on the ground in front of him, grabbing a dagger his made from a tooth that he found in the forest days earlier. He then begun to skin the bird of its feathers and decapitating it. Once the bird of free of feathers and a head, George then begun to drive his hoof into the bird and slowly pull out of the organs from the rear. Remembering back before his mutation, George would help his father make the Thanksgiving turkey. The memories came back like a boomerang.
[13 years before mutation...]
Georges dad spoke with a deep mighty voice and a cheery tone. Him and his son came back from a successful hunt for the bird they would eat for Thanksgiving. It was also the day George killed his bird.
"Now listen up George, I'm gunna show ya how to skin this bird and make it proper okay?"
The thirteen year old George observed as his dad approached him with a white apron on and a huge kitchen knife and the turkey in his hands. George could see his dads large smile under his bushy beard. His red flannel shining in the sunset.
"First what you need to do George is get these pesky feathers of the bird."
Georges dad then grabbing handfuls of feathers and begun pulling them off with tiny blood drops at the end of them. Minutes later, the bird was nothing but a pink blob. Georges dad then grabbed the bird by the neck and laid it on a cutting board next to him.
"Next, you chop the head off."
He swung the knife in his hand and took the head off with a clean cut. He then had the turkeys butt face him, he then put on a rubber glove. George could feel his own butt clench at the sight. He knew where this was going.
"Finally, you cant eat the organs now can you?"
Georges dad then plunged his fist inside the turkey. Pulling out separate organs from inside the bird. George had to cover his mouth to refrain from vomiting from the sound and the smell. Georges dad then coats the turkey a weird oil before lowering it into the oven.
George felt a tap on his shoulder, he looks back to see his friends Lizzie and Ralph with peculiar brown sacks on their backs. George could smell fish and fruit from the bags.
"Food?" he says while giving a wide smile.
Lizzie speaks with a happy tone in her voice.
"You bet! Wasn't easy getting it though."
"I would think so."
George looks around and raises an eye brow. Their was two missing from their group. Lizzie and Ralph exchanged glances.
"Where are Marco and Harry?"
"Harrys at Canterlot getting some 'peace and quiet' he said. Marco followed him because he wanted too see what it was like." Lizzie said. Raising a hoof and pointing towards the castle on the mountain.
George had a sinking feeling come over him. When ever a feeling like that came over him, he knew something was up. Lizzie noticed this and placed a hoof on Georges shoulder. He ignored her.
"They'll be alright George. Harrys pretty smart and Marco wouldn't do anything stupid. At least, I wouldn't think he would do something stupid."
Ralph couldn't help but add to the conversation.
"Like how? Eat someone?"
George then caught the both off guard, his tone firm as he spoke, not facing the two.
"Marco is a killing machine but he isn't an animal. I've got this sinking feeling that something just isn't right."
[Canterlot.]
Inside a huge office room, sat a purple alicorns. Next to her was a snow white stallion with a blue mane and hooves. Both were looking over archives of spells. Spells used by ancient casters. Thought to bend time and space itself.
"This is hopeless!"
If they could find any. Harry sat in a wooden chair and placed his elbows on it. He scrunched up his face and gave a frustrated sign. Twilight scratched her head as she looked over multiple books that were engulfed in her magic. Harry was right, it was starting to get redundant at this point. They had been searching for hours but found nothing on the subject.
"I think your right Harry."
Harry blew a raspberry and looked up at the ceiling. He then saw at the corner of his eye a small book shelf with black cover books. Raising an eye brow, Harry got out of his chair and made his way to the shelf. Seeing Twilight still looking over other spell books, Harry pulled one out of the shelf and looked at the cover text. The letters were gold plastered but no author was written.
'The context of dimensions.'
Letting out a wide grin, Harry opened the book seeing the blueprints of portals to other dimensions, Harry squeals and runs over to Twilight. He nearly shoves the book in her face as he shows her it. Twilight gives a wide smile of her own. The two then run out of the office and toward Princess Celestia's thrown room. Harry however, should've looked at the rest of the books.
'Consequences of time-traveling.'
'The Paradox Theory.'
'Monsters from other worlds.'
