The rise of King Sombra

     " Good morning Princess Luna and Princess Celestia." Twilight says, yawning, as she enters the main hall.

     "Good morning Twilight. How was your sleep?" The two princesses asked.

     "It was.. Ummmm....." Twilight pauses, not knowing whether or not she should say."It was different."

     She watches as Spike brings in the food. "Thanks Spike." they all say, breaking the unusual silence.

     "Spike, can you send a letter to Ponyville?" Twilight asks. " I'd like to send them train tickets so they can come visit."

     " why of course Twilight." Spike says as he searches for his quill and a peice of paper. "What shall it say?" Twilight told spike what to put in the letter.

          dearest friends,

               Oh how I've missed you guys! I'm sending you train tickets to come visit! Hope to see you all          soon!!

                  Princess Twilight Sparkle

     "Is that all?" Spike asks scepticaly, knowing usualy letters to their friends in Ponyville were long.

     "Yes thats all." Twilight says."if you all will escuse me i would like to go to the library." As she leaves she feels Celestia watching worriedly, and feels Luna follow her into the library.

     "Twilight." Luna says, Twilight freezes and turns around.

     "Yes Princess Luna?" Twilight says, watching the ground between Lunas hooves.

     "I sense something is wrong." Luna says, tipping Twilight's face up to look in her eyes. "What are you not telling us? We can and will help, no matter what."

     "It's nothing...." Twilight says nervously, knowing that they could help but not knowing how they might react.

     "You can't trust anyone? Heheheh" Sombras voice echos through her head. She shakes her head and looks up at Luna.

     "It's not nothing, whats wrong?" Luna says, lifting her wing and pulling Twilight closer.

     "Shhhhhhh. My dear." Twilight shivers as Sombras voice enters her head again, angry that he keeps refering to her as 'dear'.

     "Luna.... I had a dream... Sombra was in it.... He was using dark magic, he still is, hes in my head. It hurts. He says now hes after all of Equestria not just the crystal kingdom. He says he is going to come back and enslave everyone-" Twilight breaks off as she starts crying.

     "Aww now look at what you did twilight, look out that window, hurry your friends need you." Sombras voice echos, she looks at Luna and realizes Luna heard too. They both run to the window. There is a huge wall of shadow surrounding the city, just waiting for everyone to notice it.

     "Noooo..." Twilight says starting to cry. "Wait... Luna what did he mean by what did i do?"

     "You sounded so sure he was going to come back, you weakened the protective spells..." Luna says, grim faced." He expected you too... All four princesses and all six elements in Canterlot... This may not end well." She looks at Twilight, shocked. "Y-your horn..."

     Twilight goes and looks in a nearby mirror."No.... Nooo....." She looks at Luna. " Can you hide it? I dont need everyone to feel crushed."

     "I agree." Luna says, her horn glowing."OK it's done, but they must know eventualy."

      A sentry runs in, out of breath. "Princesses Luna and Twilight! Celestia requests your presence in her royal chambers immediately!" At the end of this message, the gaurd takes off for the gardens, where Princess Candace and Prince Shining Armour were.

     "We need to go to Celestia! She must be making a spell!" Luna says, running out to the stairs.

     " OK... Where are Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Apple Jack, Pinkie Pie, spike, and Fluttershy?" Twilight says, worried for her friends safety.

     " Right here sugar." Apple Jack says as her friends rush in.

     "Oooooo a magic show i love magic shows! We are going to a magic show right?" Pinkie Pie says, knocking everyone over.

     "ENOUGH!" Luna says." This is no laughing matter, we must all get to Celestia!" With that Luna turns around and begins climbing the stairs quickly.

     Everyone follows silently, halfway up the stairs the hear two sets of hooves run up the stairs. Princess candace and Prince Shining Armour."sorry we took so long." Princess candace pauses as she tries to catch her breath."we got lost. It's chaos out there."

     "This is worse than we feared..." Luna says, fear showing in her eyes." We must hurry!" She takes off up the stairs, everyone struggling to keep up.

     As they reach the top. They go into Celestias chamber. Princess Celestia is waiting."I'm so sorry! Twilight says, finnaly bursting into tears as she looks out at the balcony, seeing all the ponies inside the walls and the wall of shadow slowly closing in.

     "You couldn't have known Twilight, calm down, we need to face this with a clear head." Celestia says, immediately taking control.

     "Sister..." Luna says, pausing to look at Twilight. Twilight nods, still shaking with tears as her friends try to quietly console her." Sombra has used the missing spell. He has invaded her mind, not taking control, just distrurbing her, unless we can push past his distractions she cant use her magic. We need the elements... But we will be without them..."

     Everyone stares at Luna, shocked. Then they turn to Twilight, who nods her head, confirming what Luna has said. Then everyone jumps  as the gates close, the loud boom resonating through the castle. Everyone goes to the balcony, watching the shadows, except Twilight, she had collasped on the floor crying realizing she will be the cause of the fall of equestria. She feels nine hooves Rest on her back, she looks up at the solem looks of her friends and family. "I-i'm sorry..." She says, trying to control her emotions.

     "It's not your fault." Celestia says calmly."King Sombra is very smart, this seems planned, now we just wait."

     "We should try to stop him." Rainbow Dash says." Twilight come on you can beat him!"

      Twilight smiles weakly and nods at Luna, whose horn glows as she lowers the spell she had cast upon Twilight. Everyone gasps as they look at her horn, covered in black crystal. Twilight looks down. " You see... I can't." Twilight says weakly, she gets up shakily and walks out to the balcony, staying just out of sight of the crowd below, not wanting them to lose faith. Her eyes fill with tears as she watches the shadow reach the outside gate, she feels her friends gather behind her, waiting for the inevitable.

     "Hello, princesses and elementals." A figure appears out of the shadow, Twilight recoils in fear to stand next to Celestia and Candace as King Sombra lands on the balcony, ignoring the crowd below."how nice it is to see you all again! And so soon." He looks at Twilight and smiles. " i didn't even think I'd be this easy." He laughs as Twilight flinches at his words, taking the guilt unto herself." It's OK Twilight, they are right, im much stronger than you. It would have only been a matter of time..." He pauses, letting this sink in, taunting her.

     Twilight enraged flares her wings." Take your spell off and lets see how strong you are!" Celestia glares at Twilight. Twilight tries to calm down a bit.

     "Hahahahah! You are really funny dear Twilight, but even with Luna, Celestia, the other elements, and your sister." He looks at each in turn, his gaze lingering on Candace, an evil smile stretching across his face."You cannot hope to beat me, maybe if your sister was at her best, but she never will be."

     "H-how d-did you..??" Candace says, backing away. Shining goes to her side, ready to protect her."how did you find out. I havent told anyone." Everyone, confused, looks from Sombra to Candace.

     "You didn't even tell your family yet? Wow." Sombra says, slightly supprised."well i don't want to be a spoiler, but Candace and Shining would have been a happy couple with child, but Twilights ruined it for them." He laughs as Twilight lowers head, crying uncontrolably at the thought that not only has she doomed Equestria, she has taken away Candances and Shinings hope for a family.
