(Teal's PoV:)
That night seemed like it lasted forever.
Nikolai was slumped on the floor in a heaping mess. I couldn't stand to see him look like that, so I invited the Rainbooms over. He was a little cheered up when Pinkie Pie gave him his favorite type of cake slice- coconut cream. Rainbow gave him a guitar, and Rarity was not caring about her for once.
"Hey there, shugacube. Jus' checkin' on ya to see if yer okay." AJ said, sitting down next to Nikolai. "Listen, now. I heard that ya lost yer big sis earlier today-" Rainbow cut her off. "So, Nikolai, did you beat the guy's or girl's butt?" She asked impatiently. "Sadly, no. And, I believe that I would have Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder after that... Incident that happened...." Nikolai looked like he was about to faint. "Oh, look at what ya bloody done now, Dash! Ya gave him a flashback from that event!" I yelled. Dashie looked at her feet and sighed lowly. "Sorry, Mr. British Accent. Don't mind Dashie," Pinkie said, " It was an accident." I looked at Rainbow Dash and drew my finger across my neck. She flinched, and sat down on my neon purple beanbag. "If only Twilight was here, she would know what to do...."
I was dead.
All my life, I was told to help others.
I didn't listen that fateful night. My older sister, Max Ride, was telling me to stay with the group. God, her eyes were shining like the moonlight. I couldn't look away from her face that moment, so I nodded. Teal was playing with his wannabe leader sister, Pheonix. Pheonix was sitting on a stump, waiting for Teal to stop poking her arm. Teal stopped, then looked at Maxie. "Max," He uttered. Pheonix turned around and gave a small squeal of fear, then ran away.
Someone was behind Max, and they were going to kill her.
Brutally.
I was opening my hand for my knife, but they stabbed Max in the back. I stood in utter shock, looking in the dark, cristaline eyes of my newfound enemy. Teal tried to kill the person, but he failed, resulting with his arm getting cut off. The enemy ran off in the darkness, laughing like a madman.
"Nikolai... Why did... why did you let her kill me?"
I turned around to see Max breathe her last breath. Tears started to roll down my face as I saw her body start to go limp.
