My Little Warriors: Dawn with fire

The grassy ground made no connection in Twilight`s mind.

That was until she rolled over onto her other side, and felt the cold dew on her purple coat. It froze her skin, and shot a jolt into her head, making her eyes flash open.

She sat up immediately, glancing around the clearing of trees she sat in. Stopping her tail from flicking, she took deep, slow, breathes. The sun was at it`s highest, and short bushes surrounded her, followed by tall spruce pines and mid-length oaks, with large roots dotting the shady patches the leaves brought down.

Twilight looked from the forest to the spot clear of trees she sat in.

She and... five cats.

Five, very familiar cats.

As she observed, one cat was pure white, with a purple ear.

Another was orange, and had a soft lighter orange under-belly.

The third was blue, and any markings and extra patterns were rainbow.

The fourth one was pink, and had a lot of fur, most of her tail faded into a darker pink, but still burst with excitement, somehow.

The last one was yellow, and had pink tips on her face fur, along with a pink tip on her tail.

"Oh dear Luna..." Twilight gaped at her friends, the elements, now sleeping cats.

She looked at herself, and gained the same picture on her paws from her dream. Her tail was a soft purple, like her legs, but had spots of pink and a darker shade of purple dotting it some places, large areas patched on the fur.

Her back was the same, and her neck had no different color fur. She couldn`t see her face, and so had decided to leave it up to her friends to describe it when they woke up.

The smells of the forest reached her nose, along with that of mice and rabbits.

She let the smells reach the top of her mouth, and took in the locations of these different odors.

She didn`t smell the more peculiar scent of another creature.

"Er..." Rainbow grumbled as she pushed herself up, yawning loudly.

Twilight Sparkle jumped up, awaiting a reaction from Rainbow Dash with baiting breathe. She stretched, and almost began licking herself- when she stopped, her tongue held out of her mouth.

"Why the heck was I-" she sniffed the air, and then looked at Twilight. The purple cat responded with a sheepish blush, silently apologizing for the next stage in Rainbow`s reaction.

"Wait... Twilight?" She asked, her rough voice at it`s peak in confusion.

"Y-yep! heh" Twilight responded sheepishly, putting a paw to the back of her head.

"Okay... um, if your a, then that means... Im a- CAT?!" Rainbow Dash squealed as she looked down at her paws, her eyes wide and her pupils shrunken.

She studied the rainbow tipped hair she bore, the one blue sock, and her rainbow tipped tail. She had one dark blue spot over her left eye, and she noticed it to be similar to that of Twilight`s light pink one, on her left eye too.

Rainbow`s back was bare, along with her belly. After a minute of soundless gaping, she shook her head- almost like trying to get out a nightmare.

"Okay, s-so were-" Rainbow Dash stopped dead as a white ball of fur began to get up, along with an orange cat too.

"Oh no." She deadpanned.

Rarity was currently revolting over her body.

A cat?! Opalescence was nice and all, for a pet. But as your living form?!

"Yuk!" she spat and hissed at herself.

Her face was a strong white, save for a purple moon crescent shape on her forehead. She had a fluffy chest that was covered in purple from her underbelly, which reached from her neck down.

Her right ear was a rich purple, and her front left and back right legs had purple socks. Her back had one light blue spot on it, and her tail was the fluffiest of all the poni- cats. It faded into purple near the end and adorned a few light blue dots in both the white and purple areas.

She did have a sorta long tuft of wavy hair on her head, that reached back down her neck, but she ignored the beauty of it, and instead hissed at the pieces that got in her eyes.

Apple Jack?

She was more... Or less, angry.

Her Orange coat had small and large dot of light and darker orange, and her front right leg was covered in a dark orange stocking pattern, though her back left toes were a lighter ice cream like orange.

She still had her freckles, and her hat, which had seemingly shrunk to fit her size, and allow her large kitty ears to go through.

Her chin was a light orange, and so was the fur under her neck and down to right before her tail began, which then faded back into the regular palette orange. Her tail was striped with light orange, along with her right ear.

"Ahm a crossed pattern CAT?! Twilight, help me! What did you do!" She hissed at her purple friend, who proceeded to attempt to do something with her magic, but found, to her horror- she no longer bore a horn anymore.

"I would, Apple Jack. But, well as you can see..." She pawed at her forehead, pushing small locks of straight purple and pink hair out of the way.

"And ah reckon that spell from yesterday did this?" She reasoned the time travel spell that turned out seemingly useless.

Eventually Fluttershy woke up, but unlike the others, she was very excited to be a cat, as heard from her purring.

She bore a pale yellow body, two pink circles above her eyes, small and cute, and even had a pink sock on her left front paw. She had striped pink fur, that stretched all the way down to her tail, which was tipped in pink.

Her hair was a little long, though not but one strand covered her eyes, like when she was a foal. The ends were tipped with pink also.

Pinkie Pie was the last to wake up.

She studied her body almost seriously, but of course was not phased or disgusted by anything, just merely enjoyed it.

She had lots of fur. Her left ear was a darker pink that her light body, and her hair seemed to curl down into her right eye. She had a fluffy chest, and her body faded into a darker pink, much like her ear, from her back to her tail.

She had dark pink stripes on her face, neck, and front legs, but then light pink ones on back, underbelly, and tail. She had rather, long, claws and fangs, much to every pony`s confusion. Her tail was a bushy curly line, which looked tangled yet neat at the same time.

"Yay! were kitties!" She yipped cheerfully, jumping in the air, but was stopped by Rainbow Dash.

Twilight was busy observing every body else, until she received a comment from Rarity.

"Twilight dear, um... Your eyes. There, yellow." She pointed out with a paw.

"Huh?! Oh, your right. Cool!" Rainbow put in.

"Cool? really, Rainbow? Your eye colors are all the same though." She contemplated, " Well, besides yours Rarity, yours are blue and purple, and yours Rainbow. Yours are yellow and red".

"Really? AWESOME!".

"... Im, ugly", Rarity whimpered. She gave off a great fear scent, which attracted to Rainbows nose, along with an unfamiliar scent.

Rainbow Dash stiffened, and instinctively crouched into a pouncing position.

She hissed, " Everyone! get down. There`s something out there...". She prepared herself for an attack, her rear curved down, her tail twitching ever so slightly.

The bushes in front of Rainbow shook, which made Fluttershy and Rarity back away, near the other side of the clearing.

"S-stay back!" Rainbow Dash hissed.

Apple Jack walked a bit closer, her lips reeled back in defense.

A paw stepped out of the bushes, a large yellow paw with sheathed claws. Small darker yellow stripes seemed to line up and down the leg as it came further out, making Rainbow Dash tense.

"You must have a pretty good scent, to be able to have scented me, young cat" a deep yet cool sounding voice came, and with that the head that spoke it. This large cat was almost completely normal, save for the bright yellow, and the almost lion like mane that came form his neck,

and the yellow green eyes that could pierce any soul to their wits.

Though now they held a soft gaze, and that soon mixed with confusion.

"What the..." He began, but stopped.

"Oh, heh. Um..." Rainbow Dash got up from her position before continuing, " Were pretty colorful, aren`t we?".

The lion cat shook his head.

" Never mind that. Why are you in Thunder clans territory?" He gave off a small glare, startling Fluttershy, whom held onto a bunny.

"And why, I must add, are you hunting in our territory?!" he snarled.

Fluttershy whispered, "He`s my pet".

"PET? That is our prey!" He walked towards her, and Fluttershy got up, the bunny on her back, and glared at the lion cat.

"No he is not! Angel is my baby! Now keep your filthy lion paws away from him!!!" She hissed defiantly, making the lion cat jump back in surprise.

"... Your odd, skittish one. My name is Lion heart, and no, i`m not a lion" he introduced himself.

Twilight stood up, " Um, what is this Thunder clan?" her tail flicked curiously.

"You don`t know? Thunder clan is one of five clans. We survive and hunt in the forest and plains around this area" He answered.

"What about the other four?" She questioned.

"Well, there`s the River clan, Wind clan, Shadow clan, and Star clan".

"Star clan? Heh, kind of like my name" Twilight reflected.

"What are your names, any ways?" Lion heart asked, the thoughtful, calm look in his eyes again.

Twilight introduced her friends.

"This here is Apple Jack" She pointed to the orange tabby whom responded with a country, 'hi'.

"This is Rarity, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, and i`m Twilight Sparkle", she finished.

Lion heart laughed, "those are odd names".

"Yeah? Well Lion heart, your name is funky too", Rainbow Dash pointed out, earning a glare from Twilight Sparkle.

"Now tell me, young cats, I smell no twoleg on you, but you carry no clan smell either. Where are from, Twilight Splash?" Lion Heart asked, receiving a grunt from Twilight.

Rarity answered, " Were all from Equestria. Twilight here, cast a spell. And now, were all cats".

"What were you before then?" Lion Heart smirked, half believing, half non believing of Rarity`s response.

"We were ponies! We had the same coloring too, mind you. I was a pegasus, Fluttershy was also, Rarity and Twilight Sparkle were unicorns, and Pinkie and Apple Jack were earth ponies!" Rainbow Dash smirked, before adding, "I`m the fastest flyer in all of Equestria".

Lion Heart stared for a second, before attempting and failing to hold back a laugh.

"How hard did you hit your heads, kittens?" He got up and laid a paw out for Twilight Sparkle.

"I think you should see the clan leader, she may know what to do with you. At least we can save one day to care for some rainbow group of kittens" He began to pace away, after Twilight had nodded.

"You know, Lion Heart," Rainbow Dash began while running easily at his speed, "If you think were rainbow like, you should see Princess Celestia. her body may be white, but her hair? Besides me, she`s the most colorful pony out there!" Rainbow laughed, her friends struggling to keep up with Lion Heart.

"Well, right now... I`d have to say she is" Lion Heart flicked his tail towards the confused blue cat, and she got the message.

"But for a wild cat, your pretty fast, I mean being able to catch up with me and all. Even Fire Paw wasn`t fast enough to keep up" Lion Heart complemented Rainbow, whom smiled widely.

Apple Jack was a little behind, but she kept up good speed, though cursed to herself about not having her lasso.

"Eh, who`s this Fire Paw?" She asked.

"Well, he was a kitty pet. They named him Rusty, but then our leader, Blue star, changed it when he became an apprentice. When your an apprentice, your last or ending name is turned to 'paw'. For example, let`s say your a kitty pet named Flower. You get taken into the clan, and however you present yourself and make the leader feel about you ends up as your name. At least in the beginning. Blue Star might think flower was very swift and cunning, so she may name her Swift paw, or maybe Nimble paw." Lion Heart explained.

"What about Rusty? Why was he named Fire paw? Catch on fire or something?" Rainbow Dash asked.

"Well, he`s an orange tom. Blue Star said his fur shown like fire in the sunlight, and bore him the name, Fire Paw" Lion Heart concluded.

Soon, Rainbow Dash and Rarity could smell other feline smells, some sweet, others dainty.

Apparently Twilight nor the other three cats smelled anything, however. Rarity thought most of them to be annoying, and focused on the smells of the forest instead.

Eventually, the ground beneath their paws became harder and less grassy.

Most of the girls considered this to be the main entrance, and rightly so. The scent of cats dawned on the others, but Rainbow had already gotten to pinning down each and every cat to there scent.

-That would be terrible for avenging or getting revenge on some cat. Youd have to go politically if you didnt want your tail caught to trailing by the others!-

The cat`s came into a clearing, large and surrounded by cats. They all meowed at the scent of unfamiliar cats, belonging to no twoleg or clan.

The inside of the clan was amazing. Grassy domes covered some cats, hollowed out bushes.

Others lay under fallen logs or under over hanging rocks. One cat, a white one with brown and light brown dots, went inside a dark patch of bush, which led into a cave like area.

In front of the seven approaching cats, was a tall vertical rock that slanted slightly diagonally. Twilight stared at it, contemplating the need for a rock that big.

Lion Heart noticed Twilight`s stare, and chuckled softly to himself.

"That is the high rock, the den of the leader. And more importantly where all clan meetings are held" He said as he bounded up to a small hole in the rock.

"Blue star," he respectfully narrowed his eyes, " I found six, rather- unusual cats. I would like you to meet them".

A slender female cat came out of the hollowed rock. She was a mid-grey and bore deep blue eyes, matching her grace in footing.

She stopped, her eyes widening, before she pawed her head as if to shake out a dream.

It was no dream, what she saw.

"the prophecy" she whispered.
