Trenderhoof’s visit to Ponyville had not originally been of any benefit to Rarity. She’d watched her crush go gaga over her best friend, and watched as she turned down the stallion of her dreams. Sure, she’d bonded with Applejack in the aftermath, but overall Rarity considered the visit a disaster.

That was, of course, until the articles came out.

They were nothing like Trenderhoof had ever written before, and perhaps they weren’t actually by him- the author had technically chosen to write under a pseudonym. Yet, Rarity had a hunch that it was him, and the photos attached did little to dissuade her.

She hadn’t originally wanted to read the article, as Rarity wasn’t all that fond of the demeaning nature of the list, but Applejack had insisted she read it (Rarity never questioned why she’d had the magazine in the first place).

She’d flipped uncaringly through the first 80 mares, only stopping to note those from Canterlot. She wasn’t surprised to find Fleur de Lis resting comfortably at spot thirty.

What had surprised her, however, was finding herself listed under number eight.

“Applejack! This is obscene!” she had cried, quickly pushing the magazine away from her. Indeed, the photo chosen to represent her was all too candid for Rarity’s liking. It was her in Applejack’s barn, wearing her homemade sequined boots and hat. She recalled only ever wearing that getup once and only to impress a certain special somepony. At the time, she’d thought she’d made a fool of herself- apparently, she’d thought wrong! The real eye-catcher wasn’t anything she was wearing, though, but rather the unfortunate circumstance Rarity had been caught under. The photo depicted Rarity undressing, tugging at one of the boots on her back hoof- and the massive teats hanging between her legs!

From that point on, Rarity’s life was a whirlwind of attraction. More and more anonymously submitted articles depicting her in unladylike situations began to pop up all across Equestria.

At first, the attention was a bit overwhelming. Stallions from all over began following her in hopes of catching a glimpse of her teats. They were big, perhaps the biggest in Ponyville, and round too. In Canterlot, it was common for mares to have such large teats, with many celebrity ponies electing to enhance theirs, whether medically or magically. In Ponyville, however, such naturally large teats were near unheard of. They hung low to the ground, barely escaping contact, and swung mightily from above her crotch.

There was another attraction she was followed for, though. Often, lewd journalists would stalk her through the marketplace, hoping a strong breeze might blow by and expose her marehood. She was careful to ensure her snatch was never exposed to a camera lens, but that never stopped ponies from trying to capture it. After all, the combination of her tight untarnished marehood and voluptuous teats was enough to make any weak stallion blow their load on sight. The first magazine to capture the pair would surely make a fortune.

Rarity, throughout the mess, began to grow rather indifferent to the stallions lusting after her. She was far more preoccupied with her business, using her fame to benefit sales.

There was, however, a downside to her newfound glory, and it came in the form of jealousy.

Rarity’s friends had abandoned her. Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Twilight, Rainbow Dash, even Fluttershy hadn’t spoken to her in months, not since the release of the magazine. Her fame had outshone them all, even the newly-crowned Princess of Friendship. As Rarity embraced her fame and her business, she pushed away her friends, effectively breaking apart the Elements of Harmony.

She didn’t mind losing any of them, really. Her business was booming and she’d almost saved up enough to open up shop in Manehatten, something she never once thought possible back when she was an essential member of the Elements of Harmony. Besides, her friends had already moved on. Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy had begun going steady after Rarity crushed Fluttershy’s heart, Twilight Sparkle was spending more and more time with the other Princesses in Canterlot, and Pinkie Pie had parties to throw and had pushed Rarity from her mind.

The only pony yet to move on was Applejack.
