Diamond In The Rough
Rough Rules of Forgiveness
Previous ChapterNext Chapter"Shh, Shh, Diamond. It's alright. I've got you now," Silver cooed into the sobbing Diamond's ear, kissing her on the nose.
It was early in the morning at Canterlot High, first class had just begun and everyone was leaning over their tables working on their assignments. Diamond just stared at her paper, too nervous to focus long enough on solving the long-division equations. Diamond looked to her left and saw Silver hunched over her desk scribbling away on her paper like everyone else; she turned back to her paper and began to stare one more.
Diamond looked up to the wall-mounted clock and took a moment to decipher the numbers the hands pointed to. 8:01. Just another hour and twenty-nine minutes to go.
Heaving a deep sigh, Diamond looked back down to her assignment and forced herself to try and write something. She pressed the soft lead of her No. 2 pencil against her paper and began to write... only for the lead to snap and lay upon her paper.
Diamond huffed in annoyance, the sound a booming echo to the suspiciously quiet classroom. She noticed out of the corner of her eye Ms. Cheerilee looking up from the book she was reading at her desk.
"Is everything alright, Ms. Tiara?" She asked a little haughtily. Diamond's eyes went a little wide as she tried to think of her response, desperate not to draw anymore attention than she already was.
She cleared her dry throat. "Y-Yes Ms. Cheerilee, everything is just peachy," She said in a subdued monotone. "I'm sorry, it won't happen again." She quickly added and looked back down to her paper, pretending to seem busy in order to get the attention off her. She took a deep breath and slowly let it out, trying to focus on the numbers on the paper.
"I don't forgive you," She heard Ms. Cheerilee say. She looked up, wide-eyed and panicked.
"W-What?" She managed to squeak out.
"I don't forgive you either," someone said in a southern drawl off to her right. She looked over to see that Apple Bloom was standing up, staring daggers directly at her.
"Me neither," She heard Sweetie Belle say darkly and stand up next to Apple Bloom.
"Ditto," Scootaloo added, standing with Sweetie Belle and Apple Bloom.
She glanced around and saw that all the other students were standing, including Ms. Cheerilee, and staring directly at her; murder etched into their eyes. She did notice, however, that one student was still not standing: Silver Spoon. Slowly and cautiously, Diamond reached over and attempted to shake Silver's shoulder to get her attention so she could defend Diamond. When she was just a scant few inches from contact, Silver shot her gaze in her direction and made Diamond rear back in terror. Her face was one of pure hatred, but one thing was off. Her eyes were missing. Replaced by two soulless craters that once held the most beautiful orbs Diamond ever saw. She felt her heart shatter inside her chest.
"I never forgave you," Silver said coldly in a slightly distorted voice and slowly began to rise from her desk. "I only said I did so I could get in between your legs and have my way with you! JUST LIKE YOU DID WITH ME!!" She screamed at Diamond.
Diamond frantically looked around and noticed all of the other student's eyes were gone now, replaced with black, unforgiving pits and dark veins running up their faces. Diamond began to hyperventilate as they began to close in around her, forming a ring from which she had no hope of escape from.
Diamond glanced around with high ferocity trying to find an escape route. On one swing around of her head she came face to face with Silver Spoon. Her razor sharp teeth baring at Diamond in the most wicked of smiles.
"You don't deserve anyone's forgiveness! You deserve to be beat mercilessly to within a decimeter of your life and left in a ditch somewhere for something else to take care of the rest! No one loves you and never will! You are hideous and pathetic and are just a waste of life!" Silver leaned in ever closer to Diamond's face until she was merely molecules away from her nose. "I want to see you die with FEAR IN YOUR EYES!!"
With those final words said, Silver plunged her hand into Diamond's chest in one fell swoop, causing Diamond's breathing to hitch. Silver rooted around inside her chest a bit before she yanked hard and pulled out Diamond's still-beating heart, holding it in her hands as she presented it to the still-conscious and mortified Diamond Tiara.
Silver gave an icy chuckle before reeling back and taking a huge bite down on top of Diamond's heart right in front of her. Diamond shrieked at the top of her lungs.
Diamond awoke in her bed and sat up screaming in a cold sweat, tears running down her cheeks and her heart hammering away in her chest as she attempted to catch her breath. Silver was awake in no time flat. She turned on the bedside lamp, put on her glasses, and quickly sat up and gripped Diamond in close and warm hug. The screaming stopped immediately, but that didn't mean she was done crying.
"Diamond, love, tell me what's wrong. I promise to make it feel better," Silver said sweetly as she held Diamond close to her chest. She felt Diamond shake her head.
"No, I can't and I won't. You'll hate me for it!" Diamond swiftly replied and redoubled her sobbing. Silver began to stroke her hair and squeeze her tighter.
"Well then," Silver began as she readjusted and looked directly into Diamond's eyes, "I am not going to rest until you do. So in the mean time, I'll just do this."
Diamond instinctively covered her chest with her hand as Silver made to move, but instead of feeling searing pain, she felt the light brush off Silver's hand against her cheek as Silver dove in for a kiss and lied her down on the bed. Silver never halted her caressing of Diamond's cheek as she intensified the kiss. Silver was always readjusting her lips as if she was trying to find the perfect position for her mouth to settle on as she kissed her love, when in reality, she just loved the feeling of moving her lips and discovering a whole new feeling every time their mouths reconnected and she tilted into them.
After ten minutes had passed, Diamond calmed down a little bit and actually felt her heart flutter a little at the knowledge that Silver had stuck true to her word. Not once did she stop kissing Diamond and even began to rub certain parts of her body a minute or so into the make-out session. Diamond sighed contentedly and pulled away, Silver kept going however as she settled on kissing Diamond's neck and collarbone. Peppering every inch of the flesh she could reach.
"Okay, I'll tell you." Diamond said finally, drawing a smile of victory from Silver as she kissed her one more time on the lips. They both sat up in the bed again, checking the time in the process: 4:37, then Diamond proceeded to tell her lover about the dream she had been startled awake from. Silver was in tears and her heart ached by the time Diamond reached the end. The pink girl was unable to bring herself to look at Silver and instead resigned herself to looking off to one side with her eyes closed.
Silver lunged forward and pulled Diamond into one of the tightest hugs she was ever given. She was startled at first, but quickly melted into it.
"It's not true! None of it's true!" Silver said, kissing Diamond's cheek. "I DO forgive you! And I love you with all my HEART!! I couldn't imagine my life without you and I couldn't care less whether or not we have sex again!" A few more kisses on the cheek. "I am never letting you go, and I would never do anything to hurt you." Silver whispered into her love's ear. Diamond cocked the slightest smile she could muster and hugged her girlfriend tighter, feeling her heart beat against her's. This is how Diamond always wanted it to be.
They pulled away from the embrace and held each other's hands. Silver brought the bad-circulation hand to her mouth and gave it a few kisses on the back then put it against her cheek to try and warm it up some. Diamond smiled at the affection Silver gave her and felt a mixture of many emotions. Most of all she felt love, but there was also guilt in the mixture as well as embarrassment. She felt silly for dreaming what she dreamed, and also terrified.
Silver brought Diamond in for another tender, holding and caressing her cheeks as she slowly brought the both of them down to lay on their sides; not once did they break the kiss. After they were down Silver broke the kiss and stared into Diamond's beautiful blue eyes again. Diamond smiled at her, causing her to smile just as brightly and kiss Diamond on her nose.
"Also," Silver whispered, "I would rather your heart stay inside your chest where it belongs. It would be scary and unnatural for it to be outside." Her voice was a bit shaky, but Diamond pulled her into a crushing hug and buried her face in the crook of her neck. Silver always liked this position. It made her feel like she could protect Diamond from anything.
"Come on, gem. We better get back to sleep. We only have one more weekend day to devise a POA for when we go back to school Monday," Silver said as she stroked Diamond's hair and peppered her head with kisses.
"POA?" Diamond said, confused, looking up to meet Silver's eyes.
"'Plan Of Action', love," Silver replied, kissing and licking her lips.
"For what?"
"I read this in a book once... 'You can only truly start to heal after you have made peace with those that you have wronged'. But we need to get to sleep so we can have enough energy to think tomorrow on how to go about it, because I really don't feel like discussing it tonight. Not that I don't want to, I'm just really sleepy."
"What if I have another nightmare?"
Silver thought on that a moment, smiled, and cuddled in closer to Diamond, face to face.
"Then I will be right here," Silver said, booping Diamond's nose, "to hold you, comfort you, kiss you, whatever you need. I will be here for you," Silver pulled Diamond in as close as she could and rubbed her back. Diamond shivered as Silver trailed along her spine and rubbed some tension out in the process.
"Will you sing to me?" Diamond asked, surprising Silver somewhat. "I always thought you had a pretty singing voice. Or at least hum to me? It doesn't matter, as long as I can feel you here with me when I doze off."
The only response Diamond got was a nod and another deep kiss, filling her body with even more love and warmth. Diamond settled herself in and curled up next to Silver, her head on her chest. She listened to Silver's heart beat, almost like it was giving Silver a tempo to work with. Then Silver began to hum.
Diamond grinned and could feel her eyelids getting heavy. She gave one little yawn and heard the sweetest of words whispered into her ear right before she drifted off.
"I'll love you for eternity Diamond. I will always be here for you. Sweet dreams my beautiful princess."
Diamond awoke in a groggy state of mind, the sun breaching past her curtains and sending a ray of light down the middle of her room. Upon waking up, Diamond was frightened and immediately alert when she noticed something was off: Where was Silver Spoon? She began to panic as worst case scenarios began to play out in her mind.
Did Silver finally get bored of her and leave? Were those sweet words Silver said all a lie? ...Was she and Silver even a couple? Or was it all a big, beautiful dream?
Diamond began to cry, missing her love. She felt incomplete without Silver with her, like a giant hole was drilled in her heart. She was about to scream for Silver until she noticed a small yellow square laying on Silver's pillow. Diamond picked it up with a shaky hand and read the note, smiling when she did.
"Hey DT, just putting a note here to tell you that I'm sorry I won't be there when you wake up and that I hope you didn't freak out too bad. I thought I would get up early and make you a special breakfast before we got started with today. Hurry down as soon as you get this! Please don't be too long :,(! I'll be waiting ;)! I love you~
!!"
-Silver Spoon
Diamond sniffled and held the note close to her chest after reading it, hugging the piece of paper like it was Silver herself. Diamond heard a loud grumble from her gut and decided to heed the note's advice.
She quickly hopped out of bed and ran out her bedroom door, off to find her love.
Diamond walked into the kitchen and froze and the beautiful sight in front of her.
There was Silver, dressed in an outfit almost akin to her own. She wore blue short-shorts, a white tank top, and had her hair down instead of in the usual braid she styled it in. Diamond could smell the delicious aroma of pancakes cooking. She could only deduce that this was what Silver was cooking on the stove.
Diamond crept up behind the "hot" girl and wrapped her arms around Silver's stomach, resting her head against Silver's neck and taking in her warmth.
Silver jumped slightly at both the surprise of being snuck up on and the coldness from Diamond's injured arm resting on her midriff. After she realized who was however, she leaned into the hug and continued cooking.
"Good morning Sunshine," Silver said teasingly, "I see you got my note."
"Yep," Diamond returned, kissing Silver's neck. "I love you too," Diamond finished, snuggling back into Silver's neck. The gray girl shivered a little whenever Diamond breathed on her sensitive neck. Getting curious on what she was cooking, Diamond lifted her head and peaked over Silver's right shoulder.
"I smell pancakes," Diamond commented, taking a deep breath of the scent.
"You smell correctly," Silver responded, giving a quick kiss to Diamond's cheek. "I'm making chocolate chip heart-shaped pancakes because you're such a sweet heart," Silver complimented in a loving voice. Diamond squeezed her tighter and gave her a long smooch on the cheek.
Silver shuddered, slyly looked over her shoulder, and spun a full one-eighty to face Diamond, catching her off guard with a deep, warm, passionate kiss. She pulled her into another tight hug, always enjoying every second they were together and close like this. Silver breathed a content sigh and nuzzled into Diamond's hair.
"What did I do to deserve you?" Diamond said in a sad monotone.
Oh no, Silver thought, not again. "Diamond..." She began.
"Hear me out Silver," Diamond cut in, pulling away to look into the eyes of her deeply endeared one, "I mean, I just don't get it. I have been horrible, awful even, to almost everyone in my life, excluding you and mom. But my daddy though..." She breathed a depressed sigh and rested her head under Silver chin, whom started to stroke her hair. "What did I do?"
"You've changed Diamond. You became a better person after realizing and owning up to your past mistakes. You've opened your heart to others and express your emotions instead of bottling them inside, which is scientifically proven to not be healthy for you. Under all the rough skin and tough attitude was a smart, beautiful, charming, lovable, huggable, kissable girl waiting to burst free. That's who I'm holding in my arms right now, who's hair I'm stroking, who's heart is thudding against me. The old Diamond is fading away as the hate and disgust are replaced with love and happiness deep withing you. I liked the old Diamond because she was my best friend. I LOVE this Diamond because she is my heart's desire, and I wouldn't give you up for anything."
Tears of pure love and joy rolled down Diamond's soft, pink cheeks as she hitched from the little breaths she took when one cries. Diamond looked up into Silver's pure amethyst eyes and saw the great love she held for her in her heart. And felt it ever more when Silver pulled her in for another deep, kiss and held it for the longest time.
Mr. Rich yawned as he walked into the kitchen in a plain light-blue robe with white trimming and halted as he saw the two girls expressing their love. Filthy Rich smiled and decided to leave them to their moment in the kitchen. He was a little upset though as the pancakes Silver was cooking smelled absolutely delectable.
He knew their love was real because he had experienced true love once. There was a difference between love and lust.
Without any words, Silver broke the kiss, smiled, and turned back around to continue cooking. Diamond felt two things: confused and blown off; she was going to get to the bottom of this.
"Why did you just turn around? It was so abrupt and sudden and makes me feel a little sad," She said with puppy dog eyes and a pouty lip. Silver looked back and saw the pathetic look. She cocked a grin and turned back to the stove.
"I don't want your breakfast to burn, Gem. I promise to make it up to you later, but right now my top priority is getting you fed. Have a seat at the table and I'll be right over. This last pancake is about done." Diamond could have sworn she was about to pass out from all the love she felt for this girl. She unwillingly did as Silver bid her and went to sit at the table.
She played with the condiments that were sitting on the table and looked around for a while as she waited, her eyes always being drawn back to the sexy and beautiful girl standing before her. Diamond got lost in daydream mode as she imagined their future together; that future containing little feet running around their house.
"How long have you been down here?"
"About twenty minutes before you came down. Maybe less."
"Is there anything you can't do Silver?" Diamond asked dreamily.
"Well I learned from the best!" Silver responded happily.
"Who taught you?"
"My M-..." Silver mentally kicked herself at almost bringing up the sensitive subject to the already over-sensitive Diamond Tiara. She hesitantly looked back over her shoulder to see a frowning Diamond staring at the table. She quickly regained her composure and smiled at Silver when she realized she was being watched.
"It's okay Silver. I miss her so much and there isn't anything I wouldn't do to get her back, but she will only truly be gone when I forget about her. My heart aches for her, but I still love her with every fiber of my being." Diamond paused for a moment and took a breath. "You're lucky to still have yours. Please don't forget to call and visit your parents even though your living here now. I can't stand the thought that you would lose connection with them because of me. Please promise me you will cherish them and never take them for granted?"
Tears streamed down Silver's face in tiny rivulets as she nodded. "I will, Diamond. I promise."
This made Diamond smile. "Good."
Breathing a heavy sigh, Silver turned off the stove, scooped the last pancake onto the giant stack she made for Diamond, and carried the plate over to her. She set the plate down and leaned in to give Diamond an extra slobbery peck on the lips. Love coursed through Diamond's veins as she looked at the feast before her. She licked her lips as the tantalizing aroma traveled up her sinuses and filled her brain with warm thoughts.
Diamond suddenly realized something very important and looked up at Silver.
"Wait DoubS, what are you going to eat?" Diamond asked, concerned.
"I'm just going to have a bowl of cereal. I had a pretty tasty and filling midnight snack," Silver responded with a wink and rubbed her stomach, giggling as Diamond looked away with a tiny shade of crimson hinting at her cheeks.
Silver walked around to the necessary cabinets, drawers, and appliances to collect the items she needed for her breakfast. Once it was prepared, she sat down beside Diamond with a chair she dragged over and ate with her in peace.
Silver was long done with her food before Diamond was even halfway through with her pancakes. She waited patiently and smiled as Diamond greedily swallowed down the last bite with gusto.
"Those were delicious Silver!" Diamond complimented.
"Thanks! I used a special secret ingredient," Silver responded sneakily.
"What is it?"
"Well, usually I wouldn't say, but seeing as it is you who is asking.... It's peaches."
Diamond grinned widely at the revelation and draped her arms over Silver's shoulders, wanting to be close to her love. Silver returned the sentiment by wrapping her arms around Diamond's torso and pulled her in tight, showering her cheeks and neck in smooches and sweet words. Diamond shuddered and crushed her even more into the embrace.
Silver pulled apart from her, to Diamond's dismay, and gave her another swift peck to make up for it. "I have a lot planned for us today, Gem. First thing was breakfast. Check! Later we are going to go to dinner, all five of us. You, me, Mom, Dad, and Mr. Rich. Then it just going to be you and me, at the movies, cuddling and kissing at this mushy romance movie I picked out. Everything will be on me, so feel free to splurge."
Diamond tilted her head slightly and smiled as wide as her mouth would allow. She could not believe how madly in love she was with this girl who somehow loved her back after all she put her through. Diamond just wanted Silver to hold her, kiss her, feel her, and make her feel every good emotion possible every second of her life.
"But first, we need to discuss something important right now." Silver added, her voice taking on a serious persona. Diamond's grin dropped as she straightened up to listen, then nodded for her to continue. "It's about when we go to school tomorrow. I will do the hard part for you, i.e. approaching them and explaining what is going. Tell them that you have changed and wish to make amends and all that, but I cannot apologize for you. That has to be spoken from your heart, and yours alone. I will be there with you every step of the way though, okay? I would not and never will leave you hanging like that." Silver took Diamond's hand's in her own and kissed them tenderly. "You just tell me who you want to talk to and I will get them. Alright?"
Diamond's lip quivered as she thought about the day tomorrow. "I-I-I u-understand, and I am very grateful for all your love, support, and attention. I would never ask you to apologize for me. If any part of the old me is still left, it is the part where I refuse to be a coward. I'll right what I have wronged. I'm just glad you'll be helping me."
Silver nodded and kissed Diamond's injured hand, looking it over to see if anything needs tending to. There were a couple of dark patches here and there. She needed new bandages. Silver sighed internally. "Who all have you thought of you were going to apologize to so far?"
"Well, there are the CMC's. Apple Bloom, Scootaloo, and Sweetie Belle. That shouldn't be too relatively hard since they are always together and we wouldn't have to seek them out individually. I also want to make things right with Ms. Cheerilee." Silver nodded as she continued to inspect Diamond's arm. She looked up at Diamond when she noticed an abnormally long pause.
"Anyone else?"
Diamond thought for moment and a bell dinged inside her head. "Actually, there was one other person." Silver finished her inspection, kissed Diamond's colder-than-normal hand with a little pat, and returned her full attention to Diamond. She urged her to continue.
"It was this new guy. I was 16 then and a dumb, heartless bitch," Diamond spat with a hint of venom. "I pretended to flirt with him and made it seem like he had a chance of "getting" with me. I even went as far as letting him feel my breasts, but only for a few seconds and it was with my clothes on. After a week or so I broke it to him that it was just a joke and that we would never be a thing." Diamond was about to double over from sadness as the tears streamed freely down her face and splashed on the floor. "I hurt him SO much Diamond. I saw that broken look in his eyes and the completely shattered hopes of finding that perfect girl. And I LAUGHED at it. I-I... I l-laughed at h-him..."
Diamond wailed anguish as a sharp spike of pain traveled through her heart and remained there like an infectious disease, tearing and clawing at it. Diamond placed her hands on her chest and tried to make it stop, but it was all for not. Silver swept up her girlfriend and did the only thing she could think of: kiss her till the end of time.
She promptly smacked her lips onto Diamond's and filled her with love from her heart as much as she could. Diamond continued to cry through the kiss, but the pain her chest began to dissipate as she felt multiple kisses rain down on her mouth with sweet words thrown in between, such as "It'll be alright", "Don't cry my beautiful gem", and "The past is the past, there is always tomorrow".
Silver held the sobbing girl against her chest and allowed her to cry her pain out as Filthy Rich looked in with terror-filled eyes. This was one of many steps to forgiving herself, even if it was agony for the hypersensitive girl.
Silver brushed Diamond's hair with her hand and whispered soothing words and cooed into Diamond's ear. It was going to be a long day, and an even longer tomorrow.
The day was over, everyone had said their goodbyes and goodnights, now Silver and Diamond got ready for bed. Diamond really enjoyed the movie that she and Silver Spoon saw together, it was a funny and loving tale. It had made her heart sing.
Now they were in bed, holding each other and making love to each other like no tomorrow (as in kissing and holding each other with intense vigor). Still though, it was almost as pleasurable as the real thing.
They decided to take a break and pulled away from one another, sweating and panting, but smiling all the same. They cuddled in closer and wrapped their arms around the other; they planned to never let go.
"Today was a beautiful day Silver," Diamond stated. Silver kissed her deeply and sent a spike of love through her.
"You're beautiful everyday Diamond," Silver retaliated. She felt Diamond's pulse increase when she said that, and it made her smile. "Really though, I can't wait to see you walking down the aisle in a flowing white gown, bringing out your eyes and showing off your sexy curves and cute face. You. Are. So. BEAUTIFUL!! I want to hold you in my arms and kiss you forev-mmpHHP!! It was Silver's turn to be surprised as she felt Diamond throw her lips into her own. Diamond kissed her bottom lip and playfully nipped at it, pulling it away and letting it go.
"Stop it Silver! My heart can only take so much!!" Diamond said bashfully, her joy showing from the tears of happiness forming in the corners of her eyes. Silver giggled and kissed her again, and again, and again. Never staying on her mouth for more than a second and also never pulling more than an inch away. Diamond loved it when she did this.
"Alright beautiful," Silver felt another curiously strong beat from Diamond, "Time to get some sleep. Important day tomorrow and you need all the rest you can get. And don't worry," Silver leaned in as close as she could to Diamond's face, "I'll be there right by your side ready to catch you if you fall. I don't think you will though, because you are strong and you know it! Don't let me hear you say otherwise! Don't even THINK it!" Diamond's eyes fluttered closed when she felt Silver put her lips against her own once more. No matter how many times it happened, Diamond knew she would never get used to Silver's kisses.
That's how she always wanted it to be as she began to drift off into a love coma.
"WAIT!!" Diamond whisper-screamed, preventing her from falling asleep. "Can we watch 'Whose Line Is It Anyway?' before going to sleep? I really love that show and want to fall asleep with something funny in mind."
Silver was skeptical at first and started to form the word "no", until Diamond did something she couldn't resist no matter how hard she tried. Diamond had clapped her hands together and gave the puppy-dog look again with a quivering pouty lip; the deadliest of all begging faces.
"Pweeeaaassee??" Diamond asked, just adding the icing to the cake. Silver's mind said no, but her heart screamed 'YES!! YES!! YES!!'. You can guess which won.
Silver sighed and knew she may regret this, but caved in anyway and nodded. She was rewarded with a squeal of delight, a crushing hug, and a big smooch on her mouth. Any thoughts of regret were promptly launched out the window.
Silver reached over, grabbed the remote off the nightstand, and turned on the T.V., tuning it to the correct channel. Silver replaced the remote and draped her arm over Diamond as she cuddled up close to her and used her chest as a make-shift pillow.
The sound of soft giggles filled the air as Silver drifted off and left Diamond to her program, the tiniest of smiles gracing both their lips.
